I have been aware of this group for many years, and finally last year saw them in concert and began my love affair with their music. Their talent, sense of fun and passion for their music, the camaraderie among the artists, it's all just too good to be true. And they are all ours!

We are already fans of Philip & Lorraine Newman (love the OR Renaissance Band and have seen them a dozen times), but this was our first time catching the Trail Band live. We own one of their older Christmas CD's and it's a favorite. This show was a WOW. So much talent, wonderful sound, and FUN. Thank you for the Linda Hornbuckle, and the Tall Jazz guy (sorry - forgot his name!) , but we also love the regulars. Portland is full of talent - we are so lucky! Merry Christmas to all!

The Trail Band may be fairly well known but this Christmas show thrives on its returnees as we see the same people year after year. I sometimes feel guilty buying tickets thus not allowing someone who hasn't gone to enjoy this traditional Christmas presentation. To see musicians who have a passion for music, instruments, and other musical cultures, present their interpretations and arrangements is truly inspiring. We took our 2 grown daughters for the first time despite the fact that they were afraid it would be "country-western". Both were mesmerized and one even posted praise on her Facebook. Doesn't get any better than that. Starting their set with Alpen Horns in a traditional carol then playing a French carol, then a Celtic/Scottish tune, then going to Latin America certainly displays their talent, versatility and willingness to explore musical cultures. A Jewish Hanukkah song was even done. The fact that each of the 8 can play more than 3-4 instruments and have vocal talent is impressive enough but when the show is also a benefit for Friends of the Children, well, what's not to like?

We have attended the Christmas concert several times and it never fails to deliver. The musicians are so very talented and love to create an experience that exceeds all expectations and transports the audience to a little bubble of Christmas happiness. The entire band exudes joy. A small but important point for our family is the notion that the band actually wishes you Merry Christmas, instead of the overused politically correct Happy Holidays. We particularly appreciate that, given Portland's unending quest to "not offend". Well, thank you for saying Merry Christmas :) and we send it right back at ya!

As usual , some of Portlands BEST musical talents are together for the holidays and if you like holiday music and atmosphere the place to be is at one of the shows. I am a former Seafood Mama junkie and have followed Marv & Rindy Ross and the evolution of their musical endeavors from Trout Lake Tavern to Eugene to Seattle etc.. Never gets old for me!!

I have attended the show for several years - it is always memorable. This year was the BEST. It's always a treat to see Harold - LInda is awesome - and this year it was topped with the addition of Doug Smith, whom I have seen in concert many times. The group is always very entertaining - they get 5 stars just by themselves. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us and supporting the Children. I look forward to next year's concert.

This is the 3rd or 4th time we have seen the Trailband and it has always been a wonderful evening. This year we took my mother for the first time, and she thought it was wonderful..

This is our fourth year to attend the annual Holidays with the Trail Band event. They never disappoint - Marv and Rindy are such wonderful musicians and have put together a great team. They sing new material as well as old favorites and often feature special guests such as Linda Hornbuckle and Doug Smith. And of course, Hal and his version of the nativity story. We always are amazed at the creative musicianship and entertaining delivery of the Trail Band and we are sure to be in the audience again next year. Where else can you hear Alp Horns and a guitar finger picking champ on one stage??

The Trail Band has been at this for 17 years now and each year it gets better and better. Great energy and a wonderful spirit of the season, yes, but really the spirit of this group of friends is just who they are all the time I suspect. Take your family, take your friends, or just take yourself to spend a couple of hours at the Holidays with the Trailband concert next year. It's like being in their living room, singing and celebrating. And storytelling, of course.

We had Aunt Alice, 102 yrs old, her neice, then two more generations after that. We had 13 people in our group and everyone enjoyed the show. Aunt Alice was so wired afterward, she couldn't stop smiling.

Very talented group; amazing how many instruments each member can play and how well each & every one can sing. Special guests were also really special -- love Linda Hornbuckle and found Doug Smith to be outstanding. Venue was not good; I felt unsafe and cramped. No way to get out of there in a hurry.
