I have been to hundreds of concerts. This was the best thing I have ever seen. It was not just a concert, it was an experience. It was intimate. I was exciting. It was touching. The 12 people in the band are all so talented. The people behind the entire concept are genius. There are no words to describe how wonderful this all was. Also on the bill was Aaron Embry. He too was great. This day/night was just the best.

I have been going to shows and concerts and music festivals since I was like 14 (now 23) and this show was one of the best I have been to. Every detail was amazing, the big top with carnival acts, the beer garden, the food, the shopping. Everything was amazing! Most (sober) fun I have had, I would rather experience this sort of event on a weekly basis then go out and spend money at a bar. Aside from everything, the band was as fun as I imagined, the singer Alex did such a good job involving the audience. He even involved someone in the audience who provided some testimonial that made me tear up. You could feel the energy and good vibes, esp when people would join him in going around the audience and dancing/hugging them. The cherry on top was the revolving stage that allowed everyone there to enjoy every part of the show. Truly awesome and amazing. Loved it!!!

Edward Sharpe Big Top was one of the best events I have ever been to. It was easily one of the best night of my life! Every performance (especially Edward Sharpe's) was lively and captivating. The night was unforgettable and so much fun! I hope they repeat this event (preferably making it a daily thing! :P) I would quickly buy my tickets as soon as they came out!

Show was simply amazing...ES&MZ interacted a lot with the audience which made the show very fun and memorable. Jade looked a bit upset at Alexander at first, but seemed to have warmed up towards the end. Band sounds amazing live.

Absolutely...the best concert I've been to in a long time....and it's the only concert I've been to of its kind because of the circus part of it. We loved it!!

What a show. I mean really. I knew the band had about 10 members but the stage set up made them all accessible and involved throughout the whole show. Alex is pretty banged up from drugs- it appears. But man, that guys has great stage presence. It was pretty cool because the audience was able to ask for the songs they wanted to hear and Alex obliged. My favorite was the opener "Up from Below" and "Man on Fire". Jane's voice is out of this world. The venue and theme "Big Top" was also a surprise. I really had no idea it was carnival themed and they did a good job with setting up different carnie activities. My only critique was the show took place in a big tent and people were allowed to smoke tobacco and marijuana. Let me re phrase.. no one did anything about the smoke. I am sure it wasn't allowed but it was everywhere and the smell was just raunchy.

It was just okay. We had to stand even though our tickets had seat numbers. Had I known it was first come first serve, I would've showed up earlier to make sure I had a place to sit. Way overpriced for what it was. Oh well. It was an experience. I liked the music but probably wouldn't go back at 60$ per person.

All-around wonderful, original event idea. I was blown away by the circus acts in this event-- the acrobats, the puppet show, everything. The vendors and entertainment outside made this event very well-done, every aspect of the event tied in very nicely and contributed to a great experience. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' performance was incredible as always, but something about the stage set up and the venue made the show very intimate. People in the audience were making the point that they felt as though they were a part of the band during the performance. I just loved the way the different members in the band were able to do their own performances, it added a lot of variety and flavor. The acrobats were jaw-dropping incredible. The acts that were shown were truly unique and showed a diverse array of talent, something you definitely wouldn't be exposed to had it not been for this event. I also was happy that the venue was small and not overcrowded, it made you feel like you were a part of something special.

The Big Top show was more than just an Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros concert. It was a complete experience for all 5 senses. No detail was left unchecked here. It was such a perfect venue, very cool vendors with amazing merchandise and great food. They had stilt walkers, marionettes, a ferris wheel, very cool props and so much more that I can't possibly list them. The vintage circus theme was absolutely what made this all come together so perfectly. All of the performers were hand picked by the band and were all so talented at what they did. The ending performance by the band was awesome!

Hands down, one of the best concerts I've ever been too. Not only was ES&TMZ amazing (I'll get to them later), but the Big Top had such cool and unusual entertainment, the experience as a whole was unlike anything I've ever seen. Before the show even started, we could stroll through a circus town, which had everything from a Ferris wheel and little shops to a beer garden / fun house. Entertainers walked around on stilts or strolled through the crowd in costumes, which definitely helped add to the circus vibe. There were also plenty of food stands, which had an outstanding variety of stuff to eat. Instead the big top, which with the space and seating allowed for an intimate experience, nearly a dozen different acts took the stage before ES. These acts ranged from a burlesques show and a comedic magician to a contortionist, a puppeteer, and a sword swallower, all interlaced between two other opening bands. The acts lasted over two hours, which was sort of long, but definitely helped set the mood for an unforgettable night. When Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes took the stage, the place when crazy. Dressed in costumes varying from cowboys and circus performers to Slash and hobos, the band played great, sounding even better live than they do on record. The set list was open to the crowd, who could call out the next song they wanted to hear. The stage rotated, allowing us to see everyone in the band perform. Alex even ran around the tent, dancing with fans and telling stories. At the end of the night, both the band and the crowd were reluctant to go, but we all had one hell of a night we d never forget.

I purchased these tickets because Rocco Deluca was scheduled to play this one night of the four night engagement. I was disappointed that his set was a very very meager 20 minutes. There were a variety of acts that came onto the stage, in rapid succession, and made for an eclectic variety show in a one-of-a-kind venue. The rotating stage allowed every seat under the Big Top tent a terrific view of the action, and an intimate experience for one and all. As a neophyte to the musical stylings of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, I expected to suffer through the headline act. I could not have been more wrong. The band was situated around the perimeter of the circular stage, with Alex, the lead singer, in the middle, directing the action. By the end of the 90 minute set, I was a believer!

This show was definitely worth the money. Not only did Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros create a fun, inviting atmosphere and play wonderful music, but there was also a whole carnival set up! The acts were funny, interesting, and extremely entertaining. The only thing I would have changed is the time they went on. Doors opened at eight but they went on at 11. I would have liked to see them perform for a little longer.

The venue was intriguing... 1940s circus I would say. The performance was in a large circus tent, and all seats were good ones. There was even a revolving stage which made the experience even cooler because we got various views. Before the band came on, there was a series of exciting circus and musical acts. After the show, Alex (the lead singer) told the crowd to join him outside. Then, he and the band put on another after-show performance outside in the park. Overall great time!

Cool concept but way too corporate for my taste. Why not have actual games with prizes? Some of the circus acts were great, but the ringleader was super lame. I didn't dig his style. I like the concept a lot, but why not make a modern version of a traveling circus instead of making a bunch of fake looking vintage mock-ups? Loved the free Ferris wheel. Try to make it more authentic next time. The drinks were too expensive and it sucked we couldn't bring drinks to the big top.

I took my 2 1/2 year old to see this performance - THRILLED to be able to share the amazing Edward Sharpe concert experience with her at a matinee show. I arrived at noon, when the show began - after driving 45 minutes from Orange County to LA. Absolutely worth it for Eddie Sharpe and the 0s. To my great chagrin after arriving a chalk sign indicated that the band would not go on until 2: 30 which was actually 3pm. Having been there since noon in the noon heat, in a tent my kid was a trooper, but as I and all the other parents of toddlers and infants there where thinking "Oh god - we could have come after the child's NAP?" There were nursing mothers in the audience for crying out loud. After 3 hours in the mid day sun or the hot tent my child was exhausted and cranky. Sure the tambourine making booth was fun - but I could driven up the street to the church fair for that. And yes she enjoyed some of the other acts, but she was a hot mess by the time the Zeros came on. Also I didn't pay $40/person and drive far out of town to see a puppet show I could have seen at the public library. I was almost in tears by the time they came on, and my child certainly was. I LOVE live music and I get the whole musicians can't be on a schedule opening bands/acts take forever kind of a thing. But had I left the house at 1:15, arrived at 2-2:15 I still would have had plenty of time to make a tambourine, catch a few opening acts and my daughter and I would have enjoyed Edward Sharpe's ENTIRE performance together instead of only seeing a few songs and then carrying a crying child out to the car. She was thrilled to be there and totally focused on the stage when we arrived - but she's 3 - that lasted less than an hour. She nor I got to enjoy the music we came there for.

I may be a bit biased since Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros are my favorite band but the big top, circus-like environment was absolutely mind blowing! I have been to a few of their other concerts but this specific one blew the others out of the park. Alexander Ebert and Jade Castrino (lead singers of the group) have an indescribable energy between one another and they share that with the audience. I definitely recommend seeing this band as it brightens my mood every time and shows me what is important in life, like good music!

Awesome!!! Wish my 2 yr old would have let us stay longer. My only suggestion would be no tent next time which defeats from "the big top" but our 2 yr old seemed afraid of the tent. It would have also been nice to hear the music from the tent outside. I'm just bumbed that I had to leave early! More f&b options would have been nice. Especially for a family friendly event...I had the coffee ice cream which is a little tricky to not give your kid :)

What a once in a lifetime experience! To experience the different supporting circus performance arts, along with some great bands. Edward Sharpe executed this brilliantly and this was a perfect showcase for their music. I felt like I was thrown back to the thirties for a traveling show. Looking forward to more of this from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros!

The entire Big Top experience was incredible from beginning to end. From the belly dancers, people on stilts, fortune tellers, clowns, contortionist, and puppeteers, this was so different from your typical concert. Aside from the wonderful time we had in the bazaar before the show, the concert still provided an almost religious experience. The tent was small and intimate and the revolving stage allowed for everyone to be involved. Alexander ran through the crowd. However, the BEST part came after the official concert ended. He said he didn't want to stop, so we continued the concert outside around a piano. The band and the audience stood in the field just singing their old songs and great classics acapella. Such an interactive experience to really get to bond with the band. They exude soulful vibes of enjoying life and being happy, and sometimes, that's exactly what you need from a concert.

Such a fun day, they went all out for this show. So many cool things to buy from tents at first, then you go into the big top and they had the most amazing performers and ambiance. They sounded quite amazing and Edward Sharpe would acne thru the crowds almost every song! Just a happy fun hippie night all together:)
