They were straight up amazing. I was so happy with their set, a mix of old and new, all bangers. And the GA tickets were awesome, I was practically at the rail. It rocked.

They re even better in person!!!! Go in your life time at least a million times!!!

They were amazing! No surprise there. They sound just like they do on the radio! I ve seen them in three different types of venues now and always a good time. Light show was amazing as well.

I am brand new to Alt-J. I came for Wildcat! Wildcat! - the openers who are an emerging band coming on fast. I could listen to "The end of the world every day" bass player all day long. Keyboard makes you want to go find the notes on the piano and jam while you work, play, live. Stoked to see the crowd at the Fonda theater arrive early and get into Wildcat!....Then - Alt-J. a friend said I should "give a listen before the show, they are really good, you will like them". cranked up their tunes on soundcloud for an all day house painting project - AWESOME. say it again. AWESOME. music is unusual and classic and intricate and interesting and fresh and engaging. musicians are about their business, but well aware of the crowd - thankful, humble, while blowing us away with their truly artistic, professional, elite musical SKILL. I hope you continue to pair with Wildcat! Wildcat! for a long time. Mesmerized.

Both bands were great. Grouplove was fun, non-stop energy, and sounded great. Alt-J sounded amazing and got a good collection of new bras. We were invited to meet both bands before the show. Both bands were very nice and inviting, took pics with me and my wife and signed autographs!!! Would see both of these bands by themselves when they came back to St. Louis.

no but Alt-j was amazing. even if Joe did sing the wrong line at the end of Breezeblocks. Thom Green was a dream to watch. also I wish the guy standing in front of me wasn't so damn tall because I could only catch glimpses of Gwill's blonde head. Lord Huron was really good too, just not my type of music. they were too many good genes on one stage.

As my (very much overdue) first show at the Ryman, Alt-J made it an awesome experience! I had seen them once before at Headliner's in Louisville, so my anticipation relied heavily on the venue, which was awesome! Highly recommended artist and venue!

I was wondering how Alt-j would translate from the studio versions of their music to a live performance. These guys are one of the technically sound bands I've seen live, right up there with Radiohead, and with only one album under their belt they never stopped being entertaining. The future looks very bright for these guys, one of the few bands I would see twice on consecutive nights.

What an amazing show! Alt-J sounded wonderful and it was so much fun to dance to. I can't wait until they come back to NYC so I can do it all over again!

I ve been wanting to see Alt-J for so long. Their performance was amazing (from what I could see :-/). At least 50% of the people in front of us watched it on their cell phones the entire time videoing it, ruining our experience. Live in the moment, people. You ll never watch those videos again anyway and you re ruining others experience. It was awful. We ended up leaving before the end. I suggest more venues have a no videoing policy like some do (or that even some bands try to enforce) so people can enjoy the kick ass show for what it is.

alt-J is something to see in person. It s a performance, a show. The lights entrance you, and the music takes you to another level.

Alt-J was fantastic. The arena was clean and easy to maneuver through which I appreciated. Despite the rain, it was a fantastic concert.

They opened with my favorite song-Deadcrush, so that made my night. I really enjoyed the lights and special effects Alt J had as the music was playing. I just wish the band was a bit more personable. There was no interaction with the crowd. We paid good money to see the band, you would think they would show their fans appreciation by at least acknowledging their presence. Well, we did get a 'Hello Charlotte!', but that was it. Anyway the music was great and that is what counts!

Alt-J were playing at Northerly Island on June 8th in Chicago and it was so cold and windy. They kept the crowd standing and they had a cool light show

The stage lighting was always dark which is fine but there was a good portion of it that the performers were just silhouettes, it didn t showcase their skills on their instruments.

the theatre was beautiful, the theatrics were great, the sound was spot on and not too loud, calm crowd, and the band was flawless. best show i ve been to, hands down.

I've been an Alt-J fan for a long time, but I've never seen them live. I feel like I picked the perfect night for it in the Orpheum gig, though. I sat in the middle section of the lower balcony area, but we were still fully immersed in the experience as every song had a choreographed light show all its own. As far as the band's performance, they were incredible. With such an amazing visual production, they really seemed dialed in. They came off as very genuine and appreciative for the people in attendance, and I left feeling like I had witnessed some poetic justice - seeing some unbelievably talented and humble people have success that truly deserve it. I'll be looking for future Alt J shows as well as keeping up with the Orpheum.

Wow! Amazing show at an amazing venue! Alt-J did not disappoint. Their sound was flawless and had the whole crowd engaged from beginning to end. There wasn't a bad seat in the house. Mad props to the person responsible for the visuals...A++++++!!! Cannot wait to see another show at the Fillmore!

They sounded great live, lights were awesome, and the venue was decent! We were able to stand pretty close to the stage with our general admission tickets

Great set, lead singer forgot a few lyrics and laughingly apologized. I found it to be amusing because otherwise the set was spot on. Loved the Murat theater, never been there before and thought it was very unique to all other concert venues I ve frequented.

I only have one real complaint, the show was overbearingly bright to the point that it hurt my eyes. It was difficult to watch about half the show. When the lights weren't on full blast, the set was beautiful. The sound was incredible, and the band played impeccably, throwing all my favorite tunes into their set list.

Light show was amazing! And the bass was INSANE! Will definitely be seeing Alt-J again.

I'm not a huge fan of the Festival Pier venue, however, this concert was incredible. Alt-J gives a great live performance. It seemed like a short concert, but they played all of their best songs!

Alt-J is one of those bands that is best when seen live. They are better live than their recorded albums. Most times you want the band to be as good as their recorded material. When they are you're happy when they're not you're bummed. Sometimes they are way better live and then that's amazing, and that's what you get with Alt-J. You cannot recreate that atmosphere and grandiosity in a recording. Go see Alt-J

Alt-J is an amazing band to see live. From the sound to the lights... Just awesome! They have very little interaction with the crowd. But even that I feel like is improving. If you want to go see some really good vibe music with a good atmosphere this is definitely the show for you.

This show was so much fun, the playlist was incredible and the lights were great. They started with their newer poppy stuff, then moved to most of the first album.

The rain held out til almost the end. But wouldn't have mattered because Alt-J was on point. Every song, the lights, had my heart pounding and my feet dancing. Can't wait to see them again

Alt-J put on a beautiful performance and did not disappoint. Their stage show was out of this world, and they sounded immaculate. Their precision and artistry was very apparent when they took the stage. Without saying much between songs, or moving during their set, they kept the audience very engaged and entertained. It was a very intimate setting, one which I felt blessed to be a part of. They played every song I had wanted to hear, and others that surprised me. There was no part of their show that disappointed! The opening act, San Fermin, deserves praise for blowing the roof off when they came out. I was pleasantly surprised by their performance! High energy, good music, and positive vibes radiated during their set. They set the mood for Alt-J to play to an enthusiastic crowd. The opening DJ (DJ race Street) crafted a beautiful live mix for us as we waited for the show to start. All around, one of the best shows I've attended! Across the board, excellent.

Alt-j has been one of my favorite bands for a while, so I was extremely excited to see them in concert for my first time. They put on an unbelievable show and did not disappoint one bit. They sounded great live and everything from the set list to the lighting was great. This was definitely one of the best concerts I have ever attended. Plus, the Aragon Ballroom is one of my favorite venues. It is beautiful inside there and they had air conditioning which was really nice. My friend and I ended up getting front row so we had a perfect view. Great music, great band, great show.

Line up was amazing and everyone brought their 'A' game. Wonderful day of great music, good food, and great fans. Loved it. Couldn't have asked for a better line up to ring in my 50th party that night at midnight.

Had such a great time! All the games and activities were so much fun in between bands. Didn't mind at all the rain delay. Unfortunately, I was pretty exhausted by the time alt j came on. But all in all, epic concert!

This was the 3rd time seeing them, and as always they put on a flawless show. Not only were the song on point but the lighting was beautiful as well. The Greek was one of the best venues I'd been to, and will be going back as soon as I can. There didn't seem to be a bad seat in the house!

I saw Alt-J play at NSSN 14 in December, but they didn't play their full set. I was so relieved to see that they were coming to Berkely. Alt-J has some cool lighting but they're pretty bare-bones compared to other shows, and it works for them. They did a cool cover of "lovey day" by Bill Withers and ended with Breezeblocks of course. I highly recommend you see these guys if you get the chance.

The opening act, Tycho, sounded pretty good for a while, but ultimately I found it difficult to differentiate one song from the next, since there was no singing and the melodies were kind of "freeform." alt-J sounded almost as good as their recorded music, which is surprising since some of their songs have fairly complex harmonies. There were a few dancers in the crowd, which was fun to watch (fortunately none directly in front of us). I hadn't been to the Grand Ole Opry House for decades, but I thought it was a good venue for this concert - a little larger than The Ryman, and cushioned seats! I was disappointed that neither band introduced their members - something that is a "must do" in Nashville, where we place high value on the individual contributors.

not only was red hat absolutely perfect, but alt-j was TOO GOOD!!!!! We had a blast and will definitely return to the venue as well as seek out more alt-j shows. We danced, drank, sang...it was the perfect night.

I was a little bit worried that live Alt-J would differ from their recorded sound but I was amazed that they sounded exactly like their albums! They put on an incredible show complete with a spectacular light show. The boys were able to keep their momentum throughout the whole show and because they aren't super main stream every person in attendance was a genuine fan. I am so happy that I made the trip to see them because I have a feeling that they are going to blow up soon, especially since they sound so great live.

Show was even better than I thought would be possible. Alt-J brought it with an amazing live performance accompanied by an incredible visual/light display. Everything about the show rocked, and I can't wait for their next visit to Beantown. The only thing that was a little odd was Mikky Ekko as the opening act. While he wasn't bad (and was enjoyable for the most part), I wouldn't have picked such a "poppy" artist to open for Alt-J.

alt-J sounds even BETTER live! They are amazing performers both in sound and visuals. The mood of the set were in harmony with each song, making for beautiful dramatic features. They performed a fair amount of each of their albums, was very happy about that! Definitely recommend. They will change your life.

I heard AN AWESOME WAVE soon after it was released in October of 2012. I was taken aback by the originality of their music. It made me reflect back to the release of DUMMY by PORTISHEAD back in the day. Honestly- I could have seen them at the IRVING PLAZA in NYC but I hesitated thinking that the complexity of the music would have been to challenging in a live setting. Then in early July 2013 I noticed they were playing at THE RUMSEY PLAYFIELD in CENTRAL PARK NYC. I secured tickets just days before they were sold out. This venue is as serious as any outdoor facility anywhere. The sound system was superb and designed for avant garde musical talents. It should be noted that this is a 5000 capacity venue and ALT-J had sold out the show 2 months in advance- highly unusual for a band not yet in the general public consciousness. LORD HURON opened the show with a crowd stirring set and should impact the music world significantly going forward. ALT-J exceeded my expectations and I couldn't have been more wrong about my aforementioned concerns. What a great show! ALT-j has potential to achieve iconic status going forward. How they handle the departure of founding member and bassist- GWIL SAINSBURY remains to be seen but I'm confident that ALT-J will forge on and up. Looking forward to their new album!

One of the most talented bands that really knows how to perform with their stage lights. Great live performance. Altj sounds even better live than ever. The energy of the crowd was fantastic. They walked off the stage to do a pseudo-walk off - my heart dropped when they did because they're just THAT great. The acoustics really emphasize altj's vocals and sounds.

Never before would ibe have thought that a band could make an unforgettable show by just sstanding there and using lights, but they did

This was one of the best shows I've seen to date in Nashville. I recommend seeing either of these groups live to anyone, but the Municipal set added to it along with the amazing Laser light show.

Enjoyed the music and the lights. For the most part everyone there was nice and having a great time besides a couple of rude drunk people that wanted to start a fight. I can see why seating arrangements are necessary at concerts.. This was the first general admisson.. I left my spot to go to the restroom upon my return where my friends were at, I was blocked rudely by a drunk guy that would not let me pass even though i explained to him that I left briefly and my friends were right there.. Overall music was great ofcourse, people just need to RELAX in Asheville

I love Alt-J, but wasn't sure that the lead singer's voice would be able to hit all the beautiful high notes of their recordings. He hit everything!! And their light show was amazing!! I was shocked that three guys could sound like five, or more. LOVED IT!

Light show like nothing I've ever seen. Not sure why they only played for an hour, or so. The spin they would put on eating a bowl of corn flakes would have me mesmerized, so next time I'll look for a show without all the fuss and flitter. I hope to see them perform many more times. To me, they are the most interesting current music out there. Thank you, Sirs.

I saw Alt-J at the US Cellular Center in Asheville. I did not like the venue for two reasons. One, parking was not great. I had to park on a street in a sketchy area. Two, the process of checking in was not organized and it was difficult to know where to go. One thing I liked about the venue was that there was plenty of security and I felt safe. I would definitely recommend seeing this band because they were great. Bishop Briggs opened for them and she was excellent as well. She had so much energy but still sounded exactly like the recorded version even though she was literally running laps on stage.

It was our 4th time seeing Alt-J and we enjoyed the overall experience. The positives: Alt-J, the location and views from the venue are perfect, the concessions were nice with friendly staff. The bathrooms were clean. The negatives: The sound quality could improve. The 200 level tickets are not ideal. The slope towards the stage is minimal and the chairs are the tiny plastic kind. The seating chart for the venue should more clearly explain 200 level tickets are on a flat surface. Will most likely buy 300 level tickets for my next show here as the seating looking for comfortable and the sight lines toward the stage looked better.

I was super excited to see Alt-J, one of my fav bands. The music was good and I had a good time going with my boyfriend since alt-j s music is very special for us, but I was disappointed in their lack of performance. They just stood there and played basically exactly like the recordings. They also didn t have the screens on so I could see them up close, so for all I know there could ve been three random people standing up there not even playing with a recording on! The set list was really good though and the lights were the only thing that made it a show.

I️ guess it s obvious the lyrics are hard to understand but they are even more difficult with loud music surrounding the singer. The light show was enjoyable however. It d be nice if there was a no cell phone policy because the couple in front of us recorded every song, so most of the show was seen through their screen.
