This was literally the absolute most amazing concert EVER. The pyros were insane, going a couple times per song, with additional confetti for some and beautiful graphics on the screen behind the stage. You could tell that all members of the band were having fun, including the late hide and Taiji who were featured many times on the big screen in video and photos. The fans cheered for everyone, and all had a great time. X Japan rocked MSG so hard, just like they'd promised to do. They played many old favorites, as well as some kickin' brand new songs. Yoshiki's drum solo was particularly spectacular, as anyone who has ever seen one of his solos knows, but this time it was even more impressive with the help of light-up wristbands that everyone received upon entering the venue. They would all light up and flash whenever Yoshiki hit one of his drums, and continued to sync with the songs the band played after. The band's energy was overflowing through the entire show; they were obviously super excited to finally be performing in The World's Most Famous Arena.

This has been a life long goal/dream for me. I never imagined I'd get the chance to see them live. I'm only 22 years old, about the same time they have been a complete band lol. But I fell in love with their music at the age of 14! It goes to show people that X Japan can touch the hearts of many people all around the world. I myself am not Japanese, I'm Hispanic! But X Japan live was amazing total BLISS!!! BEST SHOW I'VE EVER BEEN TO!!!

I really really enjoyed their performance! I was their fan since I was a little girl and it was my dream to go see them at the concert someday but living in the U.S., I thought it was nearly impossible to see them but now my dream came true. The concert started really late though. I don't know what happened in the back stage but waiting in our seats for more than an hour was pretty tiring. I saw many people so tired that they were taking a nap while waiting. That was the only negative but their performance overall was AMAZING. X Japan really knows how to entertain their fans. They are powerful musician and an artist. Loved loved loooooved their concert!! I would go again if I can. I'll never forget about that day and would probably brag about it to other X Japan fans!

X is only one regendary band in Japanese music history. And this was first show for them in North America.(excluding "Lolla palooza" a music fes at Cicago, IL ) Almost songs on thier setlist were hard numbers. They were so exiting and few of them were latest songs and the others were famous songs's English Version. And they also played "I.V." as known as a theme song of one of most famous movie in Hollywood "SAW IV". So amazing and exited. Only one song was a ballade called "Endless Rain". This is so heartfelt number and has so beautiful piano melody like a classical music. You should watch it!

At first, there was an unbearable wait. It make me wonder if X Japan was actually finally going to play... but when they came out to perform, it was fantastic! The music flowed really well, they didn't spare the pyrotechnics (though it did "ruin" the piano later in the show), and though Toshi's voice wasn't as great as before - the performance itself was memorable and I'm still delighted to have been able to attend the show.

So the live was absolutely amazing. There were SO many fans! My friend and I got there at about 2:00 and the line was already down the block. There were a lot of fans from Japan, quite a few of them cosplaying the members, particularly Hide, the beloved guitarist that passed away over ten years ago. There were repeated cries of "WE ARE X!" throughout the day. The doors opened at 6:30 but we didn't all get in til sometime after 7:00. The opening band Vampires Everywhere performed a set of five or six songs and then welcomed X to the stage, although they didn't really come out until 9:45. We were so pumped, many of us screaming for X and for each member. Then we were greeted by a haunting melody as the members walked onto the stage. From where I was, I could see Yoshiki, the drummer/pianist as well as the co-founder of X Japan perfectly as he stood behind his drums, looking beautiful as always. He stood very still, just waiting. Then the lights flashed and he went hardcore into the drums, I had to move side to side to see the other members. They were all so beautiful, wearing some of the same wardrobe as they ahd worn during the music video filming in January. Sugizo had a rose in his mouth as he played his guitar, moving gracefully on the right side of the stage. They played with such passion and energy, I was so pumped just watching them. My eyes were mostly on Yoshiki, watching as he smiled throughout the song he was drumming to. That smile was seen repeatedly throughout the live. Toshi, the vocalist, sang and screamed for us, constantly moving around the stage to the other members. He went up the platform to be behind Yoshiki quite a few times, moving from one side to the other like he was playing with us. They played such driving songs as the audience fist pumped, head banged, and jumped to the sound. Between some songs, Yoshiki went tot he piano and played beautifully as Sugizo accompanied him on violin, playing a beautiful melody each time. At one point, Yoshiki played the piano alone and started playing discordantly with passion, banging on the keys while headbanging, even kicking out the bench from behind him as the music escalated from his haphazard playing. We all screamed for him as he showed his passion. When they began playing "I.V." Toshi told us to sing with him, "In the rain" and "Find a way", it went like this crowd: "In the rain" Toshi: "I'm calling you dear" crowd:"Find a way" Toshi:"Can't you see me standing right here?", we sang with him for what seemed like a long time until they started playing the entire song, where we continued to sing with him. Throughout the live, there was pyro and fog, elements that only seem right for X Japan. And for their new song "Born To Be Free", there were two girls dressed as maids in cages, one for each side of the stage, reminiscient of the music video filming in July that had taken place after the Yoshiki Foundation event in Club Nokia. At some point, Yoshiki went to play his piano but the keys were hot from the pyro and he got on the microphone after fiddling around and told us "The pyro fucks up the piano so we are trying to fix it", he said this with a smile on his face and he had a staff member pour water onto the keys and we laughed as Yoshiki wiped down the keys with a towel. Toshi then asked "Yoshiki, are you ready?" and we laughed as Yoshiki smiled at him and took his place at the piano. At some point, the members left and we all cried for X and an encore. After a while they came back out and graced us with more music. One of the songs was "X", and every time X was sung, the crowd jumped, throwing up their Xs with their arms. It was then that I noticed the band was really getting into it, I think that was when it hit some of the more reluctant seeming members that 'hey, we have a lot of fans here and they LOVE us!' Yoshiki drummed his soul out, at some point just laying down behind his drums, scaring me and I think he put Toshi a little on edge, but he got up and staggered to the front of the stage, smiling and moving as if he was intoxicated with the energy we were giving him. He removed the lace jacket he was wearing and walked to the edge of the stage and DIVED! We all screamed, out of love, out of jealousy, and out of surprise. Sugizo and Toshi were smiling at him from the stage. He climbed back onto the stage looking pleased with himself and just happy. At some point, during one of the songs, I looked at each member and I think for them, it was as if they were back in the 80s, in their 20's and in their prime, just enjoying life. They threw a lot of water bottles, Sugizo pitched quite a few to the audience in the balcony, making everyone just amazed with that arm of his. He told Heath to throw his bottle up to the balcony, but I don't think he did. I think the most memorable song for me was "Endless Rain", because we all sang together and the members just had all of these emotions come across their faces and I'm positive that Yoshiki cried at the end of the song but we couldn't see his face since he was turned to the side and he had his hands folded together in front of his face and he was like that until the lights went out. It was such a beautiful moment and I believe the only ballad they played. Overall, the live was absolutely amazing and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything in the world. I will carry those moments with me in my heart forever. I hope to see X again and again. Their music, their love, their passion is addicting and their energy is something special and rare and they are worth the money and the drama and the heat and the wait. They are worth anything and everything, and I gladly gave my heart and soul that night, screaming at the top of my lungs, just hoping that my voice would reach their ears and that my energy would reach their hearts. Oh! And we made new friends! These two girls from Japan were in front of us and there was a huge language barrier, one of them spoke a little English and I speak very very little Japanese so we communicated with our gestures and we screamed together and headbanged together and sang together and afterward we clapped and constantly said "We are X!" to eachother. So X Japan is a way of communicating on top of everything else. For those of you that think "why do you listen to Japanese rock if you don't understand the language?", X Japan is proof that music is it's own language, that you don't need language to love this music so dearly. There's one thing that every X Japan fan can tell you, especially after Saturday's concert, and that is: "WE ARE X!"

Excellent show. The Wiltern was a beautiful venue to see X Japan's opening concert for their US tour. They even played the rarely perform art of life (despite it was a shortened version). The opening band Vampire everywhere was great. The ticket said door at 6:30, but there was a huge line to get in already. X-Japan didn't get on until 8:45.

This concert was for X Japan, and despite the expensive seats, the band gave an unforgettable performance. The technical difficulties delaying the concert was a little annoying, but when X Japan members appeared one by one, all was forgotten. It was a very big honor to support X Japan at their first concert in U.S. I hope they perform in L.A. again next year. ^O^

From the presentation plus the opening band Vampires Everywhere, you might think X Japan is a forgettable piece of pop-emo teenager garbage. Nothing could be further from the truth: X Japan is one of the very best metal acts in the US at this time, and they proved it from the very beginning of their show. Despite some technical problems with the microphone and such, vocalist Toshi provided one of the strongest vocal performances I have ever heard on a metal stage, especially on the songs "Born To Be Free" and "Kurenai." The real, incredible highlight of the night, though, was drummer Yoshiki's skills. This man is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Few drummers are this uniquely talented, and in both his drum solo and in Art of Life, he truly shined even above all the other songs of the night. Keith Moon? Joey Jordison? Yoshiki's far, far better than either of them. If you like metal (at least progressive/melodic metal, but even some thrash fans might appreciate Yoshiki's drum solos, songs such as X and Kurenai and, if they play it at your live, Orgasm), go see these guys. You will NOT regret buying this ticket and you will most likely fall in love with a new band. That said, bring some earplugs for Vampires Everywhere's set.

Spectacular, amazing, breathtaking are just a few words to describe the performance of XJapan at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. The venue was full of old and new fans whose sense of anticipation to see the long awaited rebirth of this incredible force in music reached near breaking point. It was well worth the wait and a dream come true for some of the fans I met while waiting in line for the doors to open. I love XJapan! I'd see them again if I had the chance. :)

This show was absolutely fantastic! The songs sounded incredible and were delivered with perfect precision. Hearing these songs played live is just an other worldly experience. I was fortunate to see them perform at the Roseland Ballroom in 2010 and again this time around [Oct 11, 2014]. This show was bigger and better altogether. The show was 3 hours of X-Japan rocking the house the way they know how. If you are a fan of this group, you need to see them live. I very much so look forward to seeing them perform live again. I cannot recommend this band enough.

X Japan is the band that taught me when I found them 14 years ago that Japanese musicians can have energy, life, and a fantastic human quality to their playing. Perfect without ever being robotic. The composing is beautiful and every member is talented with an apparent love of music. Seeing this band live was something I never thought I would experience, and now I have, it was a dream come true for me as it was for many others. I still find myself more drawn to their old songs rather than new, but like always the songs grow on me over time. I enjoy that. I heard that Sugizo had a new guitar made recently to better match the 90's sound of X Japan, it was noticeable in this concert and I thought it sounded great! His violin playing is a favorite of mine and I'm dying to hear more of it. Toshi's voice was incredible, Heath's bass, Pata's guitar, Yoshiki's drums and piano - every single member is incredible and they were all showcased well. I loved that a string quartet (I think? I couldn't see how many) joined the stage for Forever Love, nothing beats that combination with guitars. That's one step closer to my desire to see a band play along with a live orchestra (which X Japan has also done, in the past). My only complaint is that some things were much too elongated and likely confusing to newcomers in the American audience here, such as the extensive "We are X!" cries. I don't have a problem with it, but I felt a lot of people there just wanted to listen to the music and weren't ready to get all pumped. The audience looked pretty still, even on the floor, the latter of which surprised me. I, myself, am quite stiff and "shy" about being energetic around other people, and that made me feel guilty because I really wanted to show my support! My friend who joined me was the same. He loved the concert even though he didn't expect himself to be much a fan of their songs before coming. I think some people also feel embarrassed by the emotional play by this band, but I would doubt they particularly dislike it, and are rather not used to it. Regarding my Favorite moment - I felt very left out because I did not get one of the bracelets, I do not know where they were given out. But at that time, everyone stood up and watched in awe, it was very beautiful. You could say it was just a little additional effect, but with the wristbands lighting up to the music, everyone felt like they were part of the show even more. Overall, this band plays tremendously live and it is such an enjoyable experience.

I've been a fan of X Japan for a few years and until this point, have only seen clips of their concerts on YouTube. I was a little disappointed not to join the general admission close to the stage and instead have a seat. however when the show started, I found the full view of the stage to be better with the lighting, pyrotechnics, and jumbo-tron. Especially the jumbo-tron with unique animated backdrops for each song and occasionally displaying close-ups of the stage and band members as they performed or spoke to the audience. The music was beautiful and surprisingly the sound quality was the best I've ever heard! If we weren't all screaming and singing along I would think it sounded close to what you would hear on the album. I unfortunately forgot my earplugs before getting in line and luckly I did not need them. I guess this is because I wasn't close to the stage but I didn't have any sever ringing in my ears after the show.

You can feel the dreams of thousands of fans coming true, as well as the band's. We received the Tokyo Dome experience here in NYC, and it was spectacular. The guitar vs. bass battle between Pata and Heath was sexy. Yes, sexy! Sugizo's hands fluttered like dark butterflies as they caressed his violin. ToshI sparkled on stage as well as our eyes and ears with his voice, screams and all. Finally, Yoshiki, the god of rock to us (the fans) ... his presence provided all of us with so much grace and passion. He tugged at our heart strings with his emotional message, asking us "Where is Taiji? Where is hide?" The fallen, yet perpetual, members were very much present among the band, as we cheered for them as loud as humanly possible. It was a dream-come-true for them as well. For all of us. And it is an experience I will forever remember, and forever love.

If you're familiar with the Japanese rock band X Japan then you're reading this to find out if seeing them live is everything you've heard of or seen on You Tube. The answer is a resounding yes!! Playing and headlining their first full arena concert in the U.S. after a stint of smaller venues back in 2010 X Japan was welcomed with open arms by hundreds of faithful X Japan fans at Madison Square Garden who like myself would not miss a chance to see them live is it only happens rarely due to their hectic schedules, band issues, and in this instance a rare chance to play state side in a country that they are for the most part relatively unknown in. Rest assured the people who do know them were there in full force. The show started on time with their song Jade and from start to finish the energy and emotion did not let up for a second. Make no mistake this was a full on ROCK show, playing hits from the past as well as some new songs for the upcoming album. By far the best live show in terms of production and execution. Lasers, fireworks, a huge LED screen. It all worked and worked well.

I'm so glad I came to see X-Japan live for the first time. I was 10 when I first heard their hit song "X" in the anime called "X". Ever since I loved that song and the band, then 14 years later I finally get to see them and was blown away, and felt the emotion from the bands story. They need to come back again soon and with a new album!!! I can't wait!!!

This is absolutely the BEST concert I have ever seen. X-JAPAN is so amazing! This feels like 1997 Tokyo Dome again! I was screaming all the time and I cried at the end. X-JAPAN please come to New York again!

I first had the privilege of seeing X Japan perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago in 2010, and also attended their concert at The Riviera Theater a couple of months later. They play a variety of styles ranging from heartfelt ballads to hard driving rock. They are master musicians, engaging, and enchanting. See them once, and you will fall in love with X Japan!

X Japan is an awesome band. They hail from Japan but they can perform in English perfectly! They put on quite a show with fog machines and lazer lights, and tons of audience interaction. I do NOT recommend the Roseland Ballroom staff because they are very impolite, and down right mean. Just because you're staff doesn't give you the right to treat the paying customers like garbage. I hope X Japan NEVER plays there again.

I am so glad I didn't miss this concert! Probably the most Epic I have ever been to, and I used to go to A LOT. The crowd was moved to tears, and rocked hard, (I have bruises to prove it). Words cannot describe the Epicness that fell that night. The Line wrapped around the entire New York City Block Back to the Entrance. Singing Happy Birthday to Toshi (Lead Singer). Yoshiki jumping into the crowd. Pata almost crying on stage. Sugozi playing violin solo. The crowd singing to the group. The crowd showing X with their hands as X-Japan took snapshots with their fans from the stage.

While the Roseland Ballroom was kinda small for a band as popular and phenomenal as X JAPAN, the band put on a most unforgettable show. As a die-hard fan of X JAPAN, I've been waiting for them to come to the USA and play in NYC for about a decade since I discovered their music. The first song I heard by them was "Forever Love" as the ending to the movie of one of my favorite animes: X. Ever since, I've been a devoted fan. And to finally see them live without having to travel so far, to me (and undoubtedly to many others in the state and around), was truly a dream come true. This is not an exaggeration. It was literally a dream come true, and as drummer and co-founder of X JAPAN's Yoshiki said to the million fans: "If you believe in yourself ... dreams can come true." And I've always believed that I would one day see them perform. Thank you for coming to New York, for playing on Toshi's birthday so that all the fans could wish him the best, and for making the dreams of all your American fans come true. And a special thanks and sooo much love to Yoshiki for the free pizza! ♥ and a most happy and healthy birthday to Toshi!!! ♥ WE ARE ... X!!!!!!! ♥ ♥ WE ARE ... X!!!!!!! ♥ ♥ WE ARE ... X!!!!!!! ♥

The place is not big but a lot of ppl going for X Japan. I walked around 10 mins to get to the end of the line from the beginning. To make sure we r not starving, YOSHIKI bought a lot of pizza for all of the fans who's waiting in line (how sweet). Even from the second floor, I can still c X Japan members on the stage. I can even c their make ups!! How close I am!!!! It's the best concert I'v went in my life=]

That was definitely one of the best concerts I had ever been to!!! Yoshiki was amazing in the drums and the piano, Toshi's voice is simply magnificent and has no match, and as for Sugizo, Heath and Pata they are simply the best and they proved it on the stage!!! Although they did not sing all of their best songs, the ones they played were flawless!!!! I would go again and again if it were possible!!!

X Japan had an amazing performance and I didn't know until yesterday that it was their second concert in their first North American tour! I have seem thse guys about 15 years ago when I was in Japan. They were one of the biggest act in Japan. ( They still might be ). I think it was really cool for their fans to be able to see them such and small venue. It was my first time at the Fox Theatre in Oakalnad and the venue, their staff, and sounds were amazing. Although the bar aera "DEN" was amazing. Food was kind of expensve for what they were( $16 for salad and Naccho ) but I guess bar food costs that much these days. Bartenders were very friendly and drinks were awesome. I liked the show but they band played too many long slow songs beggining of the show . I remember them playing more heavy and fast music. There were few seats available to sit and watch the show but my sister and I eneded up leaving the show early because the show was on TUESDAY NIGHT. I hope rest of the show was amazing and everyone enjoyed the show. Maybe they can come back again with few of Japanese acts to USA soon.

This was a dream come true for me. Watching Yoshiki's absolutely emotional performances on Piano and Drums, Sugizo's blistering Violin and Guitar solos, Toshi screaming and sustaining his vibrato at full vocal saturation. And Heath and Pata rocking out was bliss beyond my imagining. Thank you X Japan for an unforgettable night and for loving your American fans so much to come out and turning out such an emotional and awe-inspiring performance! And thank you hide for posthumously bringing these friends of yours - talented musicians each one, back together.

X Japan rocked as ever! Sugizo's violin solo added even more touch to it. Sugizo and Yoshiki's piano and violin solo was just perfect. They also played Endless Rain, my first song from them. We all sang along with them, we danced with them, we had one of the best nights of our life with them! At the end, Yoshiki just jumped into the audience! I was so jealous of them in the front row! If you're watching their next tours, make sure to get a seat in the middle of the front row!

X Japan is the extremely famous top rock band in Japan. I m a fan of the band since 1989. Their live was held at the Madison Square Garden in NY on Oct. 11th. It was incredibly great show. Everything was amazing and impressed. I felt X Japan s passion, energy, soul and wishes from their stage. It s impossible to tell this precious experience in few words. All members have experienced lots of things, both happiest moment and saddest moment in their lives. Their attitudes toward their lives are extremely positive and give good influence to others. X Japan is REAL great musicians.

This was an incredible show to be at. Being that this was the first concert of my entire life, it was a great experience. X Japan played really well that night and I loved how they used the moving stages and pyrotechnics. The sound was really good and the audience was great. The atmosphere was really good to be in. It was very energetic at the beginning and the ballads and solos were more on the softer side to further the concert.

Been waiting 20 years to see X Japan play and it was worth it. The showmanship they bring to the stage is absolutely amazing. Its more than just the massive firepower they open the show with.. or the wristbands they gave everyone that were linked to Yoshiki's drum kit for one of his solos.. or how they announced a new album and not only played material from it but taught the choruses to the crowd so they could sing along to songs they were hearing for the first time.. or the personal touch of Yoshiki and Toshi talking to the crowd about how much it meant to them to finally play Madison Square Garden.... it was how all of it combined to make the best show ever.

X was amazing! Ever since I discovered them back in 99 I had always wanted to see them live and my wish came true! I will never forget it for as long as I live. I can't wait for their world tour! The only complaint I have would be that the MSG staff was clearly not prepared for the fan girls. I even heard one say that if people kept pushing they would tear up the ticket and they wouldn't get in at all. There was a language barrier and they failed to acknowledge that. But X Japan was perfect in their performance!

Aside from the fact that they didn't play: Weekend, Blue Blood, Standing Sex, Orgasm, Sadistic Desire.... it was awesome. There were sparks, flames, explosions, solos, screaming, flailing, ballads, crowd interaction.... it was badass. The worst part was having to deal with idiots in the crowd holding up their phones to record the show. Just buy the DVD. Get your iPhones out of the way so we can all rock out properly.

XJapan at Madison square garden was an amazing show. I'm so glad for Yoshiki and Toshi and the rest of the members for achieving their dream of playing a huge show in the USA. Yoshiki is extremely talented. He played the drums and the piano at the same time. They went from hard rock to classical and kept the attention of the crowd. They had the whole crowd in tears when Yoshiki broke down, asking over and over "Where's Hide?" I can't wait for the new album and world tour!!

I've always loved x Japan's music, but occasionally with older bands, I'll skip a show out of fear that the band has gotten too old to do justice to their own music. X japan is not one of these bands. Not only did they have the energy to play a 3 hour set, but you could tell that, far from being jaded, they were more excited than ever to be conquering Madison square garden. It truly was a memorable show and I'll definitely see them when they're back in New York. I don't generally go to shows with a lot of lights and pyrotechnics, so I appreciated the novelty of these elements.
