Wished there was a little more interaction from Andrew Wilder at the concert with the crowd. I drove 200 miles + to see recoil. My friends and stayed until 2 p.m. to find out he hadn't stayed for the meet and greet. Wished that Alan or his maanager would annouced to his dedicated fans a warning that he was leaving. The venue at the Galaxy Theater provided an intimate experience. Loved the energy of "Architect". Love to see him again.

The openening band, Conjure One, stuck out like a soar thumb as it lulled many in the audiece into an early bed time. But things kicked off when Alan Wilder came onto the stage and intoduced Daniel Mayer of Architect. He gave a high energy set that gave an awesome homage to Depeche Mode with an amazing remix of 'Behind the Wheel'. The crowd cheered loudly as Architect finished his set. The crowd was now pumped for whatever Recoil had to offer. Having never toured as Recoil, the audience waited anxiously to witness the genius of Alan Wilder at work. As soon as he stepped on stage with producer Paul Kendall, the crowd erupted as Wilder dove into 'Prey'. The energy continued to build as Kendall and Wilder created a web of sound that had most of the crowd dancing along to every perfectly crafted beat. The audience cheered in ecstasy as Wilder mixed in some Depeche Mode classics, such as "Never Let Me Down Again', which saw the crowd doing the classic arm wave, much to Wilder's amusement. 'Walking in My Shoes' and 'In Your Room' were also mixed into Recoil tracks, which truly showcased what a master of the craft Wilder is. After coming back for an encore, Wilder left the audience in sheer bliss as he catapulted into an electrifying remix of the Depeche Mode classic 'Personal Jesus', which saw the audience "reaching out and touching faith" as prompted by Wilder. Recoil's set seemed to go by in a flash as it's non-stop energy left the audience wanting more and completely in awe of Wilder's talents. With the promise of a DJ set by Martin L. Gore this show sold out almost immediately. Yet, Gore's set was not the highlight of the evening. And to be completely honest, Gore's set was somewhat a disappointment, as he stepped onto the stage without acknowledging the crowd and immediately starting his DJ set and then promptly stepping off stage once it was over. Nevertheless, the evening was full of energy and spirits were high. Recoil were definitely the highlight of the evening as the crowd cheered endlessly for Wilder, who reminded all in attendance what an impact he had in creating the Depeche Mode sound. Alan Wilder is truly a genius.

I drove from the SF Bay Area to Santa Ana for this show (special guest Martin Gore) and it was SO worth it! Recoil are amazing, the sound and visuals went very well together and although it doesn't sound like a lot of fun to watch two guys play with their computers for an hour, it was a really great show! Bonus aftershow dj, Martin Gore, was amazing to see in such a tiny place. I got to meet him shortly before he went on!

It was incredible, first Conjure One and Architect, then the main dish, Alan Wilder and Paul Kendall aka Recoil with their Strange Hour production and last but not least, Martin Gore DJ'ing non-stop. Our table was probably the closest to Alan and all the equipment; sweet.

Look, I'm too excited to type anything eloquent or even very coherent. The Recoil Selected event is just awesome. It's not exactly live performance, but it is live art, and it's an amazing experience. I'm so glad to have the chance to see it again tonight, and if there's a show anywhere near you, then you must go. I only wish I could drop everything and see all the remaining shows. We once saw Blue Man Group in Vegas while slightly blitzed and we left in an even further altered state. This small Recoil show was like that all over again. Experiencing the music and film like this definitely affects a person - that's art at it's best, and much better than a more traditional live performance.

This was my first time seeing Recoil and many people said it's more of a show/performance then a concert. Thier absolutely correct, stunning visuals on the screen that matches the mixes of the music. Definetly a must see again in my book.

My one complaint is that I wish it was a strange TWO hours w/ Alan Wilder. Or three. Excellent show and it was great to finally see him live.

The Recoil show was amazing - lots of Recoil music spanning his entire catalog, with excellent visual presentation and lots of cool mixes of Recoil and even some Depeche Mode tunes 'reimagined' more in Recoil's style.
