All of the artists need to have "LIVE" bands behind them. We don't pay to see them sing over a pre-recorded track. "LIVE" means "LIVE".

The entire show was fantastic. It brought back a lot of memories when hubby and I were dating. I almost forgot what real singing sounded like. All the groups still had their moves, the Intruders, Harold Melvin Blue Notes, Dramatics and the Stylistics. If they came again I would be there.

great show four acts Intruders, Harold Melvin's Bluenotes, The Dramatics, and Russell The New Stylistics. Each group gave an outstanding performance. The show was almost three wonderful hours long. The house was packed with their fans who still listen to their hit songs. Would not hesitate to see them again and again. They still sound just as good as they sounded in the sixties and seventies!

Amazing It was like walking down memory lane with all the songs back in the day. The lineup was great more specially at the last with the Russell Thompkins and the New Stylistics. I love the show and wish that I could see it again.

All of the acts were great, but the New Stylistics were the most enjoyable. No one had to try to remember who they were, or their hit songs. They were smooth, classy and Russell's voice was as clear as a bell. His two backups were great as well.

The Delphonics were a big disappointment! Thank God they played "La la la means I love you," the only hit they played. They only played for 20 minutes, 4 songs, 1 hit. They did not sing "Didn't I blow your mind"!! The Chi-Lites were a little better, but not much. They played about a half hour, a couple of hits, they did sing, "Have you seen her" and a couple of other hits but mostly B sides and a cover hit from Soul Generation. Coincidently, one of their replacement singers used to sing with Soul Generation. The Stylistics were great! They played over an hour I think, lots of hits! And you left the concert with a good feeling!

Russell Thompkins jr brought the Philadelphia sound to Connecticut. The sound and the choreography was awesome. Russell Thompkins jr has an incredible voice and the band was awesome as well especially the woman on keyboards, my boyfriend grew up around the time of their hits and had an awesome time singing along, they made phiiladelphia proud. Having seen steve augeri with and without journey I expected a different and longer set. He was admittingly tired after doing 2 previous shows, we were sitting near the speakers and the sound was not good, my boyfriend stated this a few times as well. we paid $45 a ticket for front row on day of sale. while I realize this was a benefit I felt the show he had given for free in the state in 2012 was better. Security did nothing about people standing during the show so we couldn't see and during encore to help with those with no manners or common courtesy. we asked security afterwards about the meet and greet and they didn't have any idea what was going on. the set seemed hurried and not the usual professionalism. not sure how long the sets were in his 2 previous shows. we ran into him after the show by accident and he seemed hurried and wanting to get things overwith. similar to the show. all and all Russell thompkins jr was awesome cant wait to tell my Philadelphia friends about the show. would love to see him again,

Steve Augeri admittedly was (and sounded) tired but performed for what he also stated was a great cause (Reach Foundation). Total class to say such things! Stylistics was great as well - but the pairing of such two differing styles of music may have not been the best choice. Many Steve fans showed up late and Stylistics fans left early. So both acts had to perform to a minimal audience. The sound for both acts was fantastic. Nice show!!

The Stylistics have the sound from the 70's right into today - R Tompkins Jr's falsetto voice is exactly the same and his band compliments the whole show! The singers have the choreograpy down pat - and the hits just kept on coming for 1.5 hours without a break! Augueri & his band rocked & rolled the crowd even though his voice was wearing out after three straight performances - he did a good job & people were totally into the sound. Augeri's encore with Led Zepplin's Whole Lotta Love had the crowd going crazy with energy. This was a fantastic show for the very reasonable price!!

This was a benefit concert for the REACH Foundation which is such an admirable cause... please take the time to look that up. The New Stylistics opened the show with style and a very smooth sound. There were a lot of songs that I have never heard before but it all sounded so fantastic, I would definitely go to another one of their shows. The last song they played was probably one of their most famous ones that just brought me right back to my younger years. It was a great concert to just grove to. Steve Augeri followed that show and it was great. There was a whole lot of feedback during that show and his voice kept giving out as he was fighting against laryngitis. But even with that it was just so fantastic to sing along to all those old Journey songs... a really great time. He ended the show by jumping into some Led Zeplin and then the Who. That was FANTASTIC and oh so unexpected. All in all... a fantastic show.

Steve Augeri and his band gave a wonderful concert. I wish there had been more people there. He gave it is best energy (and throat) along with his band members. A class act. Stylistics were also a class act. Their opening (1 hour and a half) was too long. An hour would have been fine. They were precise, professional, and polished, as always.

Things are not good when people are leaving while the Stylistics are performing. They were uninspired, seemed bored. Main Ingredient was a waste of time. Enchantment was not enchanting. Blue Magic stole the show and they were not at their best.

I had no idea that the roster of stars would be performing. The show started with Cuba Gooding-Main Ingredient and he got the party started. Then we had Enchantment from Detroit and it was on. Blue Magic mellowed the mood and really brought it. By the time Russell Thompkins JR and the New Stylistics started, the crowd was rocking and ready. He did not disappoint, maintaining the mellow, quality falsetto and backup singers that sounded like harmonizing angels. The band was kicking it and so in synch that it took me back to MFSB days.

I grew up listening to this music. I play their songs in my car everyday but this was the first time I ever seen them in concert. Russell Thompkins Jr sound exactly like his old recording. He's still got it. I see why they called themselves the STYLISTICS because that's exactly what he had...STYLE! Cuba Gooding was OK. Enchantment is my favorite group but unfortunately their performance was terrible. The lead singer didn't sound anything like the original recording and I we all kept asking is he the original lead singer. He clarified that he was. Their outfits were comical but not as hilarious as their choreography. It was like a performance at Shady Pines Retirement Home. I kept screaming bring back Blue Magic! Thankfully Russell brought back the magic.

Show was okay. Most boring act of the night was Russell Thompkins. Spent most of the time they were singing yawning. Lots of people were leaving because he was singing songs nobody ever heard. Main Ingredient had good energy, but Cuba Gooding was hard to understand some of the times, and a few times he couldn't remember the words! Blue Magic was great and Enchantment was good to watch too.

The show started on time with The Main Ingredient as the opening. Cuba Gooding Sr. sung some "unity" song as an opener, but drew it out too long with his yakking and starting the song over for "late" arrivals. Mr. Gooding, although humorous, did one too many "Stop the music", forgot the words to too many songs and even had the lead vocal on one of the sound tracks. On the plus side, his vocals are still strong, their harmony is still tight and Mr. Gooding loves to entertain. Blue Magic was the second act and they made the show exciting in song selections, dress, and flawless vocals! They were the best act and worth seeing again. (Note: Both Sawyer brothers have their own group.) Enchantment also did an excellent performance, sung all their hits, BUT, yes there is a "but"...the group apparently has a younger "new" member, who was dressed and looked ready to go, but he wasn't. They stood him to the left and we could sense his struggles with nervousness. He kept his eyes on the other members, didn't know the dance routines and could not project his personality into a surprising lead vocal. He was too distracting, in my opinion. Oh my goodness, do we have to see Herb Kent again between acts? He is the epitome of boring masters of ceremonies...repeated the same questions all night, made the same statements and is never prepared to grab the attention of the crowd. This is every show...He's great for radio, but that's it! The New Stylistics had a slew of issues also. This was the only group that had a band and half of them were in another place in time. No emotion, no rocking, no smiles on 4 of the 8 band members. This group was better off with the sound tracks, too. Russell Thompkins and his two singers didn't get much better because they sung two unknown songs, an Eddie Kendricks song, wore drab colored suits, had terrible sound on the background microphones and just was lacking the energy to move audience members like myself. I wish them luck, but that will be my last paid show to see the New Stylistics.

I was a little concerned at first because this concert had general seating, however, seating was prompt and orderly. There were seven acts on the show beginning with a group called Soul Generation. They had a semi hit called 'Body & Soul', good performance. They were followed by Force MD, Peaches & Herb, The Floaters, Blue Magic, Harold Melvin's Blue Notes, and Russell Tompkins Jr. and The New Stylistics All acts were great. The Stylistics are a fan favorite. but in my opinion, Blue Magic stole the show. I also want to give kudos to the band. They backed each act with the exception of the Stylistics. THE BAND WAS AWESOME.

Fantastic show! Seven great performances. Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Blue Magic and Russell Thompkins and the New Stylistics put on an awesome show! Definitely a show to remember. Have seen the other Stylistics perform at Westbury and they were really good but Russell Thompkins is the undisputed original lead singer of the Stylistics and he was fabulous. The focus was primarily on the lead singer, mikes were turned down very low on the background singers, Cameras were constantly on lead singer, it seem awkward watching the stage with three men performing and the screens only showed one person. We really enjoyed The Enchantments' performance, the lead singer was a slight hoarse but he did great under circumstances. We walked out after the third song of the Stylistics because we couldn't take it no more and vow to never pay to see them again. We should have been reimbursed half of our money because we received half of a concert. I told everybody how disappointed my husband and I felt. We purchased the tickets because of the Stylistics, never again!

Mr. Thompkins has not lost his beautiful voice over the years. His delivery seems so effortless that I found it mesmerizing. It was my first time seeing him and the New Stylistics and I truly enjoyed it. In addition, even though I did not go to the stage area to shake their hands, it was refreshing to see that they were receptive to shaking hands, taking photos and just being so friendly. Great job! Let's begin with the negative...Star Plaza, in my opinion, did terrible advertisement on the line-up for this show. I purchased my tickets just on the fact of seeing that Russell Thompkins was going to be there and wanted to pay my respect to this gentleman. There were too many empty seats in the theater. I asked the couple to my left, who else was going to be there and was told that the Chi-Lites and the Manhattans were also going to be there. Of course, that was a pleasant surprise and was glad that I'd carried an extra battery for my camera. The Chi-Lites did their thang. Marshall finally added some extra female voices, still refusing to audition me for those bad ass bass parts that are never covered, and also added some new material. Marshall showcased himself for a change while performing two Temptation songs in excellent form. Gerald Alston, "Blue" Lovett and the Manhattans...is there anything else that needs to be said? They jammed, they danced and Gerald begged and preached! You can't say anything negative about their shows and they never throw in any of those, "I don't remember this song" fillers. Russell Thompkins and the New Stylistics are not to be confused with The Stylistics, who are getting most of the publicity. I've slow danced, made out and sung with the voice of this brother, but had only seen him once with the original group, but never with his new group. Russell is a very humble gentleman, who took us back on a musical journey to the days when the music messages spoke of love for our women, even if we were having problems. Russell spent a lot of time shaking hands with his fans at the conclusion of the show...none of that weak, limp hand shaking either. Got a few extra dollars and a good partner? Go to these type of shows!
