Arkenstone is the modern master of variations on a theme, creating wonderful reinterpretations of standards and interweaving them with his own extraordinary compositions. His band of versatile longtime associates were perfectly synchronized. The music was delightful for the holiday season and we will not hesitate to attend his concerts again.

What a pleasure to see David Arkenstone and his fabulous fellow musicians in a small venue. As David said, "It's like our living room." Well, OK, the Scherr Forum isn't quite that small, but it does provide an intimate setting and allow you to connect totally to the musicians and their music. Most of the members of this group are multi-talented, and it was a treat to see each new instrument emerge. David's modern take on many of our favorite holiday tunes is superb! We went away fully satisfied and feeling fine! Our only complaint was that they ran out of almost all of their CDs before everyone had a chance to get all those they wanted--especially the new Christmas one.

The Scherr Forum was a fabulous venue; intimate yet roomy. We had the best seats in the house, in our opinion anyway and we were in the 14th row CENTER. The music was super and we even got to meet and speak with Arkenstone afterwards! Susan Craig Winsberg on flutes: OMG!! She is an incredible flutist! John Wakefiled, the percusionsit is so skilled in a large variety of percussion instruments! It was a joy to watch and listen to ALL of the musicians that accompanied David Arkenstone.
