After the first song, he invited the audience to dance, at which point everyone instantly lept to their feet, cheering and screaming. This was my first time seeing him live and I had no idea what an icon he is. I was anxious to start dancing, and moved to the aisle and the infectious beats just never stopped. Individual band members got their moment in the sun and my favorite was the kora player who managed to keep an amazing solo going while playing the instrument behind his back, upside down, lying on his back and scooting around on the floor. Quite entertaining. Throughout the evening, in the African custom, members of the audience danced their way across the stage in a seemingly endless caravan, to deposit bills on Mr. Keita and other members of the band. Of course the bills would fall to the floor, so after awhile, the stage was littered with cash ! I'm a professional classical musician, and it would be my dream to see this at a classical concert ! Some of the audience members had some fabulous dancing skills and used the opportunity to show them off while on stage. During the show, the fire marshal repeatedly told the front row to stay back and for people to keep the aisles clear. At one point, the music had to come to a stop while people were forced to moved back to their seats. A chorus of "boooos !" resounded in the hall, and soon after, the aisles were filled with dancing yet again. I thought it was interesting that as I entered the hall, I saw signs posted everywhere stating "no photography/video...cameras will be confiscated" then as soon as the first song started, the darkness was lit up by light from camera screens ! After the last song (I wish I knew the names...most of the audience seemed to know), and the band left the stage, the audience kept clapping for more, but stage hands started dismantling equipment right away. I hope I get a chance to see this artist and his band again in the near future. It was a night to remember.

This was an amazing evening of music by the Golden Voice of Africa which began with a wonderful Q&A session with Salif Keita. It was a great evening of conversation and music. He also took the opportunity to educate the audience on the plight of albinos, especially those on the African continent. Salif Keita is a living legend and you should take the opportunity to see him if he visits your city. His voice is still as strong and majestic as it ever was! He was supported by his incredible band and angelic background singers. We sang along and danced in the aisles until the last note was played.

I'm not sure what happened but I didn't see an alert and life has got so busy I forgot about the event. It's of course my fault for missing it and although I have seen Keita before and love his music I am sad to see the event go by having missed it. It would have made an already good birthday weekend even better. I would love to see event reminders from TM in the future.

I was hesitant before the show because as much as I love Keita's music - live show footage on youtube didn't do the justice. However, this show was incredible. The performance was tight, Salif's voice powerful and resonant; the crowd was immersed in the performance and Mr.Keita's charisma. Sound was amazing as well, no need for earplugs and had a studio-recording quality in it. It was fantastic, the only complaint would be for the venue selection - African-grooves are not designed for a seated audience eventhough some were pulled out of their chairs to dance on the stage. Would love to go again.

A great artist ruined by the venue. Apollo set the sound volume to KILL. And it did. My ears were damaged that night. They've been ringing ever since the concert, which must be about three weeks now. I'm seeing an ear doctor tomorrow. The loudness made enjoying the music impossible. Also, people in the audience got up on stage to pay homage to the Salif,, but, THEY STAYED ON STAGE. It was weird and ruined the show. The band played endless vambs so people could show off and grab the spotlight. They abandoned the performance. The worst disappoint I've had at the theatre ever.

This was the one of the best live concerts I have ever been to. Salif has a great personality, he sang his songs with the crowd and let everyone dance on the stage. He is the the best singer from West Africa, vibrant, full of joy and energy, what else would you expect! Thanks to all who succesfully organized th event! We want tob see Salif again soon!

Very dissapointed and it ended abruptly. Audience kept going up stage to dance and shower him with money, which I found to be too much and distracting. I dont even think he finished his performance as planned.

OK. I'm a fan, and seeing Salif Keita is a special experience, so I opted for tickets that were really close up. I was in the fourth row, and regretted it immediately. My ears were bleeding!!! But he's amazing and his voice is still so strong! What a voice.

What can I say? I loved the Salif Keita concert. The music was very cheerful and uplifting and the most of the audience couldn't stop dancing. After a hard day at work it was the best way to unwind for the day. Please, we need more concerts with this kind of music. It was like a trip to Africa without take a plane through the music and also the colorful outfits of a lot of the african women spectators. !Beautiful!

I discovered Salif Keita with his Album Moffu many years ago. One of the best albums I have ever listened to. So I was very impatient to see him live. The show was amazing. Salif Keita voice is so unique and gracefull. The whole band was incredible and very entertaining.

The show was fantastic!! The entire audience was out of their seats and on their feet dancing. Salif Keita's voice is angelic, and so are his back up singers. Also, the musicians in the band were fabulous. I had a wonderful experience at this show and am hoping to be able to attend another one in the future. Thank you, Salif!

Salif Keita, known as the "Golden Voice of Africa" and his ensemble were excellent. Ensemble singers/musicians were outstanding and the entire performance was EXTREMELY EXCITING! These people perform without affectation. They are genuinely enjoying giving the audience a maximum performance. Salif is talented and charming. His performance is a fully engaged gift from the heart, and as he said...this is AFRICAN MUSIC...you just MUST get up and DANCE! Audience was very participatory. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the show.

The Salif Keita concert was phenomenal!! The band really set the whole thing off! The guy who played the kora was absolutely awesome! He played that thing like Jimmie Hendrix--wouldn't have missed it!

It was a slightly lacklustre performance. In addition, the amps were switched up unnecessarily loud and even my teenage kids complained that their ears were hurting. We left early.

Salif Keita 's concert is a cultural celebration. His band creates a village mural, as the excellence of the musicians rouses the concert hall. We are chilled by the solos, and are airborne with Salif's voice and our favorite songs. It is beyond happiness! Salif Keita is a must see, hear, feel, experience.
