Fantastic show, as expected. He even stayed after to do autographs for anyone who wanted one. Looking forward to seeing him again, just love that voice and those beautiful lyrics!

Third time we've seen Mark and this was not a good show. His voice was fantastic as always, but where was the band? This should have been billed as Mark accompanied by a guitar only and we would have passed. Very disappointed.

I had the good fortune of knowing Mark Lanegan during his growing up years. Each week, while our parents played in a duplicate bridge group, I babysat Mark and his wonderful sister. I knew then, which was confirmed by last night's show at the Neptune, Mark Lanegan is a genius. My mother, Wilma was particularly fond of Mark. She told me more than once, "Edie, with Mark Lanegan, we are in the presence of greatness." Thanks, Mark.

In spite of a few thoughtless neighbors, Mark and his band delivered an inspired performance.

Great performance complete with soothing, hypnotic vocals and guitar solos that would be easily enjoyed on their own. Fantastic all the way around!!!

Mark is the man!!! Such a great singer and he even played a few old Screaming Trees songs. After the show he signed autographs. I got some stuff signed and a great picture with Mark. Sixth and I Synagogue is a cool place to see a show too.

Mark Lanegan could read the phone book and it would still sound amazing, but I'm seeing a disturbing trend with his live shows - they are amazingly short. His concert last year at the 9:30 Club lasted about 75 minutes, and this show ended up being about 60 minutes. His voice sounded strong, but it did look like he was having to take more breaks towards the end of the set. I wonder if he's having some vocal chord issues. I sure hope not, because he's got a pretty extensive European tour coming up. Set list was strong, and spanned across a lot of albums. He even threw in a Screaming Trees tune, a b-side or two, as well as a couple of songs I didn't recognize from any albums. The guitarist who played with him was obviously talented, but relied exclusively on an electric guitar. There were numerous songs that would have benefited greatly from an acoustic guitar..

This show was just vocals and electric guitar and it was jaw droopingly good... Stylistically it doesn't matter what he plays or what kind of instruments support him, Lanegan is just fantastic live.

ML is the coolest cat known to man. Walks in, blasts his vocals, walks out. Band was tight and the setlist was right on.

I've been a fan of pretty much anything and everything Mark Lanegan has done and this show did not disapoint. Cannot think of a bad minute during the show. Being able to meet him and get an autograph after the show was icing on the cake.

I've been waiting for years for the chance to see Mark in the Boston area and finally got my chance last night and he didn't disappoint. Sean Wheeler and Zander Schloss did a really cool opening set of acoustic music that sort of reminded me of Lanegan's "I'll Take Care of You" album. Then Lanegan - what can you say. The guy just lets it rip on vocals. His backing band of Dutch guys were incredible as well. I'm still trying to regain the hearing in my right ear from the evening finale of "Methamphetamine Blues". Insane. After the show Mark perched at the merch table and signed. I wanted to pick up his new disk, but only had enough cash on me to pay my babysitter when we got home, so I had him sign my ticket. Very accommodating and didn't appear to be getting annoyed with everyone who walked up to him and tell him that they were "his biggest fan" and then proceeded to tell him their life story. I settled for the "Thanks for coming to Boston. Great show. Can you sign my ticket?" route. Absolutely recommend!

I've seen Mark a few times in the past and he always delivers! This show was killer as a record release too. Bought the limited ed vinyl which comes with a free mp3 download of the record, good for my phone.

Mark Lanegan has been touring a lot in the last few years, but this was the first opportunity I've had to see him as a real frontman for an entire set (at least, since the Screaming Trees days). I was close enough to see that singing is physically demanding for him. He may be standing still, but he's working hard to produce that sound! The Soulsavers are very good musicians, and you will definitely get your money's worth. The live CD available at the show sounds amazing with the gospel singers. But I was thrilled to see the band even without them. Missed Red Ghost but saw Jonneine Zapata. I liked the music, but I think she should bill the act as a band. She doesn't play anything and her vocals are kind of minimalist.

Soulsavers and Mark Lanegan - amazing. The music is just awesome and there are truly no correct words to properly describe Lanegan's vocals. As soon as he opened his mouth, all of us in the group nearly reached orgasm. I could have just closed my eyes and listened to them all night - that said, the only complaint was the set wasn't long enough, but I would have said the same thing with a two hour set. Biggest complaint of the night - rude people with cell phones. For an entire song I was stuck next to a guy texting. Perhaps the venue should enforce a no cell phone rule.

The Soulsavers were powerful and a pleasure to experience. I just wish they had played longer. There was no interaction between Mark and his fans and the show seemed rushed.

For a group that started out as a "production duo," Soulsavers are a great live band. Mark Lanegan doesn't need much to make him sound great but the band is really impressive. I saw them in DC two years ago with a slightly different lineup, and I must say this time around I missed the two female backup singers. With two openers, this show was also noticeably shorter in length (no openers last time), and I wanted to hear more from the new album. The sound at the Ballroom leaves something to be desired, but I really enjoyed the show regardless (even despite some real jerks in the audience).

Soulsavers put on a great show. The band was very good and Mark Lanegan was all you would expect him to be... what a voice! They played a mix of their first CD and their newest one.... starting off with the oldest for the first couple of songs. They did one encore only, which seems to be getting to be the standard these days. The band preceding Soulsavers was AMAZING!!! It was Jonneine Zapata and WoW what a performance! She has an amazing voice and style. She exudes such an energy and the band was so in synch with her and they were all really gifted musicians. I would best describe her as a female Jim Morrison... there was an energy like his that just shone out from her. Her and the band together even had a Doors like quality to them. I wil sooo be following this band and waiting for another chance to see them. This band so should make it big. Soulsavers were great, but Jonneinne Zapata was amazing!
