I got to meet John and purchase a CD from him right before the concert. It was wonderful he made himself so available to his fans. The sound and choice of songs were excellent and the music was great! I loved the little stories behind some of the songs and it was quite interactive. He sounded great and still rocks!

Show was amazing. John always puts together the best musicians you may or may not have heard of, but will definately hear of in the future. And the man can still cook into his 70's. Only down side was it was scheduled the same night as a patriots game so traffic was horrendous!!! They should let you know that before you buy tickets. I don't think I would do that again.

John Mayall went deep into his library for rare classics as well as his better known songs. A true performer and front man, Mayall lead his incredible band through a non-stop, energetic set. Mayall didn't pick up his guitar last night, staying with piano, harmonica and his unwavering vocals. As long as John Mayall has been around, all his music, even songs from the early sixties sounded new and fresh. Seeing him live, you knew you were hearing a true legend. I can't imagine what's taking Eric Clapton so long to invite Mayall for a reunion concert at Madison Square Garden.

John Mayall is the godfather of the British blues movement and is one of the best talent spotters in the business. He played with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Peter Green and others before they were famous. At 77 years old he can still command an audience. Playing an eclectic mix of old (1964) tracks of his first album and his new one. He is energetic, sprightly and committed to making great music. His band was as good as you would expect from someone who clearly demands the best. The band look like they were really enjoying themselves and this communicated itself to the audience.

At 77 John Mayall rocks. This version of the Bluesbreakers is as good as any. They were clearly having a blast and it showed. The blues doesn't get any better than this.

Trout is a phenomenol guitarist. Ana Popovic was very good, but I came to see John Mayall again. I've seen him many times and always enjoy him. He seems to ejoy himeself more than I do. That's important. I'ts amazing how he works and at his age. A true legend in the British Blues genre. If you have him again, I will be there again!!!

The Sunday lineup of artists was a collection of great talent...each group was able to play their own brand of blues that was enjoyed by each age group in attendance...there were alot of older "kids" like my wife and I who still feel comfortable at an outdoor concert...the groups did not dissapoint...everyone there was courteous and the available sea food was plentiful...we had reserved seats but there was more than enough room for everyone to see and hear all the groups...the fact that the concerts were free added to the enjoyment for all...great job, Clearwater...Ana Popovic was great, Walter Trout was very good, and John Mayall was magical...

While the food ranged from forgettable to downright awful (it took lots of Bud to keep that so-called crab fritter down cause it didn't want to stay there), the music was out of this world. Walter Trout put on one hell of a show, and John Mayall still wails on a harp. Ana Popovic was the real shocker. That woman left me slack-jawed, teary eyed and with the very air sucked out of my lungs. She was that good. I was transfixed by her music from her first song to the end. She had to keep switching guitars to keep them from catching fire. Her voice sounds like she's channeling Joplin. Go see her whenever, wherever you can.

What a great event put on by the city of Clearwater...three days of great blues, but Sunday was obsolutely wonderful....Ana Popovic did a fantastic job in getting the crowd fired up with her dynamic blues playing...she will be well known before too long...Walter Trout followed her and what can you say...he rock us with his band...Sammy did a great job on the keyboards as well for Walter...great combination of guitar/keys...

The concert was great. I attended Sat and Sun events. The opening act of Sat was a gerat local band. Anna Popovic's gutiar playing was a real treat, the next Bonnie Raitt. Tremendous knowledge of the blues. John Mayall was as good as ever. I saw him in the lated 60's or early 70's in Philadelphia and he was just as fabulous yesterday as back then. Room to move and his other old and new sondgs were outstanding. Trout was good but too loud.

What can you say? This is John Mayall. Awesome set list he was able to sprinkle a little bit of 8 decades into the show. The band of course fabulous with Texan Rocky Athas then add Chicago's Greg Rzab and Jay Davenport you have a blues band that matches any, Just a great show would go again.

Even though he's 83, Mayall was in fine form. He commanded his keyboards and guitar as only a veteran blues master can. His band was tight and performed magically for two hours. Excellent show!

Absolutely shockingly FANTASTIC performance by John and his superb band. I consider this concert to be in the top 5 concerts I have ever attended. Mayall is a legend to me and many others here in Florida who never thought they/me would get an opportunity to see this artist live on stage. The quality of music was up there with the Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, etc.... The best of the best!!! I hope to travel to his next venue in Florida to see the show again and again. I LOVE John Mayall, he has been my hero since 1968. I was totally shocked how great his performance was!! FIVE STARS++

Recently I saw Dave Mason at this venue. I left impressed. John Mayall was underwhelming. Everyone ended up really watching the band behind him. I couldn't tell if they needed to turn his mic up or if they were doing him a favor. I felt like I was watching a friend's grandpa at a Bar Mitzvah. Even his keyboard playing seemed off. I spent over $300 and brought 3 other friends. Afterwards, I apologized. I still respect John Mayall for his lifework, but I think his performance days are behind him.

The concert was excellent. Here is an old blues player who can still play and who has surrounded himself with first rate musicians and, what can I say, they rock! Part of my 5 stars is the amazement that a guy in his 80's can still play 3 instruments and sing, but the sound of the ensemble is excellent. I highly recommend this performer.

I have been a John Mayall fan for more than 50 years. In that time I have seen "The Bluesbreakers" play many times with many different lineups. The current band is as good as any during Mayall's amazing career. The show was a mix of well known Mayall favorites, some new tunes and some more obscure blues tunes. The band was clearly enjoying the show and the rather sparse audience lapped up the show.

I expected a great performance from John Mayall. I had seen him back in 1970 or '71 at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go because I was already into his music. The whole band exceeded my expectations. I couldn't stop moving. First, seeing an 80-year old man still looking incredible, playing the harmonica AND the keyboard at the same time, along with playing the guitar and singing with that unmistakable voice of his. I am sure I sat with my mouth open through most of the concert. The concert wasn't long enough!! But, it is always best to leave your fans wanting more. If you are a Blues fan, you must see John Mayall perform - I believe he brought the Blues to America from Great Britain. Nothing like it!!

I had never seen the legendary British bluesman and I've been feeling nostalgic about seeing the people I listened to back in the day. Saw Dylan the week before. Backed by some really fine musicians, it is clear that Mayall has been diminished by age (haven't we all), but he still has the talent and the spark of a born performer. He was great! Fine musician, great personality, remarkable energy and presence. I'd see him again.

Mayall played many great and classic songs, and has some great musicians in his band (as always!) My only issue was the over playing of his band. I came to see John and his roots I don't need a slapping bass solo and a double bass drum solo. Again his band is very talented but I wanted to see some more raw blues. Also the effects from John's keyboard are just stock Roland keyboard effects - did not really over excite me. I thought his keys could be awesome instead of just average.

Being a long time JM fan, I may have seen it through rose colored glasses. He still has lots of energy on stage, and his keyboards, blues harp were every bit as good as when I used to follow him in the sixties. He voiced has weakened (whose wouldn't @ 78 years old), but that has never been his strong suit for me. His band was excellent, and took me back a few years to drum, guitar and bass solos. Bass player put on a spectacular "lead" bass solo...wow.

John Mayall is a legend. This was a small theater. He only had a bass player and a drummer with him. They had minimal equipment. But it was great. He played harmonica, two keyboards and guitar. He played keyboard and harmonica at the same time. Some of the old tunes took me back forty years! Other tunes were brand new from his newest albums. What an amazing show from a guy who is 82. It was the blues at it's best!

The consummate Bluesman, John Mayall reminded us with one of his legendary performances on 3/9/16 at the Variety Playhouse of his lifetime dedication to his craft. This year is also a celebration of John Mayall's 2016 induction into the Blues Hall of Fame. John has just released a new Album/CD titled "Find A way To Care" and as always John is accompanied by a superb group of musicians on this tour and album. Rocky Athas is a very talented guitar player, out of Chicago, along with bassist Greg Rzab and drummer Jay Davenport. The crowd loved the show and John and the band were most gracious to autograph memorabilia. I highly recommend this show, if your are a blues fan like I am don't miss this opportunity to see one of the greats. I have been a John Mayall fan since the 60's, when the band had the legendary, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Jon Hiseman, Mick Taylor, Tony Reeves, Jack Bruce, Eric Clapton, Roger Dean, Aynsley Dunbar, Mick Fleetwood, Peter Green to name a few you know and I have seen him on numerous tours, this show as always well worth the price of admission.

On a Sunday night in a small venue, you would expect a subdued crowd, but seeing the very front row (where I was) half empty had to be embarrassing. Nevertheless the Father of British Blues couldn't have cared less. He came out on time and greeted us very personally, then pulled a harmonica out of his pocket and warmed us up with an old solo number before bringing out the rest of the band. And what a band he had. With Rocky Athas on guitar, Greg Rzab on bass and Jay Davenport on drums they came out tight and never faltered. The 90 minute set went by so fast we would have loved another 90 but we had to remember that this older gent does this every night, so you had to cut him a break. The highlight was an unbelievable rendition of the classic "Room To Move" that seemed to go on forever and featured stellar solos from everyone in the band. Greg Rzab's bass solo was mind boggling and brought back memories of John Entwistle, the way he played it more like a lead guitar, his fingers were nothing short of a blur to my poor eyes. The relative ease with which he made those strings bounce was absolutely mesmerizing! The crowd loved it and we did manage one encore, which evidently is not automatic these days. This was a night I will never forget, and it was also my 60th birthday!. Thanks John!

I have been following John Mayall for more than three decades and while age may have robbed him of some physical attributes and may not allow him to hit some notes on his guitar or vocally, you will not notice it. Partly because his voluminous repertoire of songs and partly because he does not pretend to be what he is not. I attended the concert last night, 10-12-2016, in Fort Lauderdale at Broward Center for the Performing Arts. It started with John Mayall seated outside the auditorium by himself with CD's for sale and autographs and conversation with the artist. He was just as nice as could be and autographed my friends 12 albums and the new CD and was very kind to pose for photos with his fans. The concert was started on time and he and the band were just GREAT. He played with just drummer and bass. The musicians were incredible, especially the bass man reminded me of Joco Pastorius he was so good. The drummer was outstanding too. The set list was mixed with old and new material and the band played upon each others talent and the interacting was beautiful to behold. You could just tell they were having a good time and the audience loved them. I saw John Mayall in 1970 and have been a fan all my life and he is so talented and true to his art. If you get the chance, go see him. A splendid time was had by all in attendance and on the stage. Bravo John Mayall and the band.

Had a wonderful time! John was sitting at front door signing CD's before the show so got to talk to him. He can still sing and play at 82 years old with amazing energy. Saw him in 1972. This one was better.

the lighting gaffs & sound system "buzzing" distracted from an otherwise good performance by john & his mates.in spite of repeated light malfunctions during the concert, mayall's band performed professionally throughout the distractions. also, i could not believe the constant ,loud talking by the audience during the entire performance.i was embarrassed for the opening act piano player & the audience who actually wanted to hear him.how rude, buffalo fans! you should be ashamed.

Even at his age Mayall is a treat to listen to and still has the energy and showmanship that any fan of his would surely enjoy. Can't wait to get his new CD. The other band members help make it a very worth while trip. Recommended.

I last saw him in 1980 at Melody Fair, and he and his new band have not lost a beat in 31 years! In fact, it was much more enjoyable at the Tralf because we were right there very up front and close. The bass player is teh absolute best I have seen in concert and I have been going to rock concerts since 1978 on a regular basis.

John Mayall is by far one of the finest harp players I've ever seen! And can't say I've ever seen anyone play harp on one hand and keyboard with the other! He's a do not miss performer, I will be front row for his next show!

I grew up listening to my parents who grew up listing to John Mayall! Still knows how to rock the place out! Show had some technical problems with the lighting and it didn't even slow them down! Amazing show!

Did not care for the two opening bands. Their music was so loud you could not even hear the words. John Mayall was great. He should have started at 9:00 and possibly only had two very short sets for the opening groups. The chairs were VERY uncomfortable. Possibly Majestic needs a redo.

Great show by John Mayall and the young musicians that he's found. Played a lot of old familiar tunes including several from the Original Bluesbreakers album with Eric Claption including Parchment Farm. Great encore with Room to Move. Played for almost two hours.

77 year old John Mayall cooked Friday night. It wasn't a spotless performance, but his voice was still there and the harmonica work was excellent. He falter a bit on the piano and organ a couple of times I thought, but he was in the moment from start to finish. Band mates were young for the most part but talented. I especially enjoyed the lead guitar and drummer. The bass player had his moments but I thought he stretched a bit too far at times. There were a few times when the music surprised. Some of the songs, did--like all good blues--take ahold of one lightly at first, then riff after riff pull you farther in until it possessed you. Pretty fun. Only problem was the seating. Staggered seats would make it easier to see. Also, the trio in front of me talked between themselves a lot; that was annoying.

It was refreshing to hear blues standards performed by the nexus of British blues. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. The "Showroom" at Talking Stick is the perfect place to see a concert. Not a bad seat in the house, perfect sound.

I have been waiting for this concert for 40 years, and it was worth every minute of that wait. If you are into classic rock and roll/blues/jazz, there is no better band than Mayall's.

What I love about blues artists in general is their dedication to the blues pioneers before them. It matters not if you know the discography of a particular bluesman, you'll know some of the music through the tribute they pay to the legends. John Mayall covers Sonny Boy Williamson, Louis Jordan and perfroms his own brand of blues inspired though a life of playing with many of the blues greats. His show has a significant amount of energy, especially when you consider his age, 76 and going strong. Mayall permits his accompanying musicians ample opportunity to showwcase their skills. The show was very entertaining. I'm very happy to have seen John Mayall live. The Talking Stick showroom is a fine venue, 650 seats, somewhere between intimate and large enough to handle headliners. The tribe might consider raising the booth seating 8 to 10 inches. Our view was partially obstructed. For all we know the band could have been wearing hula skirts, we could not see below their torsos I highly recommend John Mayall's show ......... or any long time bluesman who keeps the genre alive.

Even though he looks like George Carlin, Mayall plays like Sonny Boy Williamson. The depth of his appreciation for and his mastery of the blues is apparent from the first song of his hard driving set. The backup band is first rate and the five musicians clearly enjoy every minute on stage; their enthusiasm is infectious and energizes the audience. The bass player, youngest member of the band, is truly inspired . . . reminded me of Jack Bruce in his sheer virtuosity.

John again put together excellent band who are enthusiastic about blues. Show was great mix of old and new pieces with good jazzy improvisation for all members of the group. The only shortcoming was that show was too short.
