NINE INCH NAILS IN CONCERT:Industrial rock, once a low-flying genre on pop culture’s radar, catapulted to mainstream popularity with the early ‘90s rise of Nine Inch Nails. Although Trent Reznor is the only official member of the group, the band’s rotating lineup doesn't disappoint, bringing a fresh perspective to NIN’s heralded catalog with every performance. Reznor’s live shows are just as fully realized as his studio recordings,  with intense lighting effects, mesmerizing video displays, and a big dose of raw energy. Back on the road for a highly anticipated tour in 2014, fans can expect plenty of experimental synths and heavy instrumentation as the band work their way through classics like “Closer” and newer material from their 2013 album Hesitation Marks.

Unforgettable night! Soundgarden was classic, taking us on a dark and hypnotic journey, working their way flawlessly through music from their last 20+ years. Chris Cornell was pitch-perfect and gave no indication of an old rock singer unable to hit the notes (calling you out J Bon Jovi). In fact, he left us with "Unreal," a song that had him wailing in upper register heroics the entire length of the tune. I would have loved to have heard a couple tunes from their Sub-Pop debut release, but they gave a great performance with great song choices anyway. NIN was fast and heavy and loud and crisp, and the stage show and production was cool and inventive, very unique to Reznor's crew. (I've never seen a major amphitheater or arena/stadium concert where the band simply walked out onto a white-lit stage, waived and started the show. Their use of shadow play, video distortion, use of moveable screens, imagery, blocking and musicianship were unparalleled! A fantastic and ferocious evening of body- and soul-rippling music! Neither of these artists are close to being has-beens...beautiful show to end their tour on...

From the opening of "Searching with My Good Eye Closed" to the close of "Behind The Wheel," Soundagarden socked Virginia Beach with 73 minutes of sonic splendor. Chris Cornell's voice was strong and vibrant while the instrumentation was spot on brilliant! I didn't stay for NiN.

I bought these tickets for my husband because he loves Nine Inch Nails. He had an awesome time. Music was good. Nine Inch Nails with all their moving screens and stuff made it even better. Would love to see another concert from them.

Well the sound was great, the venue is really good, the price was amazing, especially for such talent. Anyone who hasn't seen NIN in person, you should really check them out. One of those bands much better live.

Jane's Addiction came with all the power and strength one would have hoped for all these years later. Friends who had been following them since the beginning said that it was perhaps the best show they'd ever seen from them. NIN was very good, but not having a musician dedicated to just providing the keyboard sounds took some of the uniqueness away from their sound. Trent was also a bit hoarse at times, but spot on in others. Friends who had, once again, seen NIN many times said it was the weakest show they had seen from them, and that they usually have been awe-inspiring in the past. Still very good. Yep, very good was the way I would sum of their part of the show. A great double bill for sure. I go to 40+ shows a year, and this was in the top five of 2009 so far.

Two very different acts: NIN and Jane's Addiction. NIN has some tech problems during Terrible Lie but that's typical for them. They seemed to get off to a bumpy start but after 3-4 songs settled in. Trent Reznor's voice was a little weak, maybe a little strained but still giving full effort. Ended with a great version of Hurt and did I'm Afraid of Americans by David Bowie. Jane's was standard greatness but it could have been 1998. Same songs done very well and Perry Farrell is still one of the great front men of rock.

First time I've ever seen NIN live and the show was amazing. Trent Reznor, at 44, still delivers the goods. The best song was Head Like A Hole, from his first album. Every single person in the stands was singing - at one point he stopped singing and just let the crowd do their thing. Such intense energy. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. NIN played for about an hour and a half straight with no breaks and then went off. Immediately they began to prepare for Jane's Addiction, which pissed my friend and I off. Since when is NIN opening for a much lesser band? Very dissapointing. We listened for about three songs and realized JA is even less talented now than they were back in their prime (which was, what, 15 years ago?) Without incentive to stay, we left - along with about 1/3 of the audience. I was surprised more didn't leave. (Nothing personal against JA, they just aren't really my cup of tea. In fact I don't even like tea.) I've since heard that this is the last tour that Reznor is going to do. Then again, how many people say "This is it. The End." and then come back later? It would be such a shame if NIN doesn't come back. The group is too talented and the fans are too rabid. I'm already waiting to buy my tickets for the next concert! Hope to see you all there!

Having seen both bands at their peak in the early 90's, this was a real treat to see them both at the top of their game. It was cool to see parents bringing their teenage kids, none of whom were even born when these bands hit the scene. I've seen NIN several times over the past few years, and this was a great show, as usual. Jane's did "steal" the show, however, as it was the first time since "Ritual" circa 90-91 the entire lineup played together (past reunions, including "Strays", didn't include Eric Avery). They played all the oldies from their first two major label albums, and didn't disappoint. Navarro was shredding, as usual. Perkins didn't miss a beat. Avery looked as if he was enjoying himself. And Perry, was classic Perry. Awesome show, it'll never happen again, and I feel fortunate enough to have been able to attend. Kudos to the band for making $20 tickets available to those who couldn't afford to pay $50-100. If only more bands showed fan appreciation this way.

Wow...what a great show. Soundgarden sounded SO good. I only wish we were a bit closer to the stage. Did any one else notice that they didn't play any songs off their new release? Nine Inch Nails had the coolest light show going on. It was somewhat simple looking, but could do many different effects. NIN played all their great songs as well. Again my only regret was that I couldn't afford the closer seats.

What can I really say as a really diehard NIN fan. I've been following their music since 1991 and haven't stopped since. I try to never miss a show if they are playing somewhere near where I live. This show was probably one of the best I've seen to date. The variety was great, the lights awesome, musicians and backup singer fabulous, and Trent was in great form and gave off great energy. Although alot of the music and shows have always showcased their edgy and intense edge, this show exuded great energy and enthusiasm! Keep it up. It was fun to see Gary Numan play as well and enjoyed their collaboration.

Amazing show. Everything was well organized although the entrance didnt had a sign stating that was the entrance, that could have been a bit of a problem for tourists like myself who travelled to vegas just to see the show. I was impressed by the security measures. The drinks were pricey but i guess everything is expensive at vegas. I didn't got the best view with two giant people in front of me lol. I have been waiting 13 years to see NIN live and it finally came true. And boy, they did not disappoint. The overall show, lights, sound and performance were fantastic and they showed that they are still on top of their game. They rocked!!! They did not sing Down With It or Closer (fan favorites) but that gave room to some of their new stuff which is fantastic. They did sing March of the Pigs, Reptile, Wish and other oldies but goodies that satisfied the true fans' palate.

I have been to over 15 Nine Inch Nails shows in the past 20 years and this was by far the best! The set list consisted of 26 songs which included a few I had not seen before live. It was a visually stunning, guitar wailing, synth-ridden, bass thumping, drum pumping extravaganza, both the opening and main event including the encore. With Gary Numan it was a once in a lifetime event. It was also very long (3 hours) which made it very worthwhile.

I never got to see Trent and Co. in their prime, like say 94-96, so this tour might not live up to those of days past, but being my first NiN show, I was completely satisfied. Whenever NIN comes to town I have to see them. I have been going to their shows since the first time I saw them at Lollapalooza in '91(?). The show was filled with material mainly from the new album, Hestitation Marks. But they always know how to please the crowd with favorites like, Terrible Lie, March of the Pigs, Piggy, Head Like a Hole and of course Hurt. They played non stop as usual. The light display and screens were something not to be missed. I don't go to a lot of shows anymore but I don't know if any other musician who takes the time to have art direction at these standards.

I love NIN and have been a fan since Downward Spiral. I have never had the chance to see them live and this was my first time. The show itself was impressive: greats sets, lights, venue, and talent. But, no "hits". My friend said she heard that he wanted to grow past those as an artist, which is fine, but that's why you make new albums. On tour, people pay to see you perform the songs they love, not the songs you love. I'm sure the Rolling Stones would get boo'd off the stage if they only played Steel Wheels songs and nothing prior to 1985. I know repetition sucks, but you're an entertainer first and foremost, Trent. I enjoyed the few older songs he did play, but was a little disappointed that Wish, Closer, Starf*****s Inc, Down In It, Sin, All The Love In The World, etc are too "used" to be performed live. We got Hurt and March of the Pigs, which I guess was good enough for him.

A master of musical energy, Reznor played fan faves old and new in a mix that pushed us to the edge, pulled us back to regroup, then pushed once again. Opening with selections from Hesitation Marks, With Teeth and Downward Spiral set the pace for the whole show, guaranteeing fans the best of nearly every studio album NIN has produced, all of course with the live intensity we know and love. Trent even held off the mic for a few opening versus to let the floor carry the lyrics, shouting along to Terrible Lie and Survivalism, proving that, in Trent's own words, that we fans do "still give a shit". Oh, we do indeed! The sound and lighting as always were a perfect compliment to the energy NIN embodies through each song. Trent has become a known for his video projection, having evolved it into the current multi-layered LED screens and interactive effects, while still paying tribute to his earlier work by rolling the original video during Hurt. Adding to the visual tension was a particularly wild 3D "room" effect and Moire patterns created across the upstage, mid, and backstage screens, giving a different shifting, pulsing pattern to every seat in the house. To sum it up, it was visually holographic and orgasmic. While the days of the band destroying expensive equipment on stage are all but gone, there was still some good moshing on the floor. But in this age, the pit is surrounded by cell phones held high, snapping pics and video. We as fans want to get wrapped up in the show now, but still enjoy and share the show later. It's says a lot when an artist acknowledges the power of their fanbase and Trent does this with humility and respect. I for one will be thrilled if, as with previous tours, NIN solicits these fan videos and compiles a live concert DVD/BD for sale. I'll be on the pre-order list for sure. And when the next CD is released or tour comes through, I'll be in queue for that too. Long live Nine Inch Nails!

I saw my first NIN show in 1995 on the Downward Spiral tour. Ever since, I haven't missed a tour. You can always count on seeing something you've never seen before at a NIN show. But the Aragon show was different. Less innovative, more personal. Which is actually pretty innovative for a band as big as this. Trent delivered, as always. I am so thankful he came to Chicago. Nine Inch Nails has been my favorite band since wayyyy back when in high school. This was my 9th and possibly final time ever seeing Mr. Reznor and company take the stage, a bittersweet occasion to say the least. Terminal 5 was rediculously packed, resulting in my group getting stuck midway through the pit while trying to make it from the bar to the front of the stage when the show started. I couldn't see much at first, but the raw energy of the music alone made up for that. I was having my own little party dancing like a mad woman! My group eventually got split up and I swam through the crowd ending up in front with my best friend near Robin. I loved Dead Souls and Wish, but I wish Trent would have played the ever famous "Closer" one last time and the emotional "The Great Below". However, a good mix of the old and new was played and I loved every second of it. I left drenched as if I had jumped in a pool and wishing I had tickets for the show on 8/26! As our limo pulled away from the venue, the great memories of my last NIN experience did too. Trentism forever.

Trent's really bringing it in this last leg of his last tour for many, many years. The Aragon is a nice sized venue for an intimate show, like I've wanted to see NIN at for years. I was hoping for them to play "Broken" in its entirety like they did for "The Downward Spiral" in New York, but it was just a tease. Still, great show, great set list (see below), and it was nice having Peter Murphy make an appearance and sing a few songs. I liked the randomness of the set list they played at the Charter One Pavilion in May better, but this was a nice run down of some of their strongest songs. If you have a chance to get tickets for the remaining few shows on this tour, get them now! You will >not< regret it.

I would just like to start off by saying I have a herniated disc in my Spine. The show went on for almost 2 and a half hours and I would have stayed for another hour worth of songs. NIN is that good. Made me forget the pain.

The show was great. However, I was primarily there to see NIN with JA as a bonus. It was set up the other way around. NIN played first in the daylight dulling their lighting effects and was cut a little short in my opinion to provide JA with more time. It wasn't quite the setting for NIN I had pictured. NIN to me is dark and mysterious....meant to be played in the dark and without such strict time constraints. We all know about the "in between" songs that just go on forever and ever. Part of what makes NIN who they are. Overall, I was happy to see one of my fav bands live before I (or they, lol) got "closer to god" (pun intended) Which, by the way, they did not play....also a disappointment!

An incredible show! I only went to see NIN but Street Sweeper was a nice surprise. I'm sorry to any fans but Jane's Addiction was so boring compared to NIN. I dont know why they were there. BUT! going to this show in New York and i dont think Jane's Addiction is playing at all! Overall this show is just amazing and a once in a lifetime chance, this is NIN's last tour!

i am a huge nin fan. and when i heard that this was the last time i would see them, i was devastated. but i was thrilled because i thought that the show would be the most amazing thing ever. and for the fans of nin, we've come to have certain expectations from them. i was disappointed. the show was a striped down version of itself, not what i was used to. i did like the more intimate feel of the show. but for someone who had never seen them before, they might not have seen the greatness that i do. they didn't however, play all the favorites, but they did play some new songs. i was absolutely shocked when i realized that i would have to watch them perform in the daylight. and i was also very upset that janes addiction was the headliner not nine inch nails. overall.. i still loved the show minus all the disappointments, and they still played with great energy. i'll forgive them!

This was an unforgettable concert that was presented seamless! It was announced that this may have been Trent of NIN's last concert ... that would be such a shame! Was second time seeing him, and I would Definitely go back again! Jane's Addiction was a great review!

We saw NIN at the palace in August this past year and then immediatly got tickets once we heard they were touring again. And streetsweeper and Janes addiction were added bonuses. So our show was at the end of May at DTE this time around and we always have a great time there b/c parking is free and it's outside and plenty of room to breathe. The show kicked so much ass it was unbelievable, it really kicked off my summer and I hope to return this fall to catch the Marilyn Manson/ Slayer tour too.

I would have to say that Jane's Addiction was by far AMAZEING!I have seen them befor and will see them again.I think Dave Navaro was great and Perry just blows my mind.I love their energy. There light show was awsome and the way they partisipate with the crowd was great.Don't get me wrong NIN did a great job too.I am just a bigger fan of JA.Great show and I hope they keep it together for another round.

This show was by far the best I've seen. Trent Reznor never disappoints. The set list was phenomenal, and he brought it with the energy and intensity that I have come to expect from NIN. Jane's Addiction was spectacular. Also an amazing set list. Combined with such a small intimate venue, this was the perfect show.

I got to see Nine Inch Nails (which is my favorite band ever!!) along with Janes Addicton on 05/16/09, an unforgetable day for me, and let me tell you I have never seen a better show and I know I won't ever again! So if you don't know either Nine Inch Nails or Janes Addiction, you should really look them up because its the right thing to do and because Nine Inch Nais is simply the best band I have ever known!!! I LOVED THIS SHOW.......WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

NIN was awesome and every song they performed was done well and with the most amazing amount of energy! There was on technical glitch, but that was fixed eventually. Jane's addiction was also awesome, and they are BOTH top notch live performers. Our one gripe was that neither band played long enough! The facility itself was very nice and a great place to see a show!

This show was my first time getting lawn seats, and I was very pleased. The tickets were only 30 bucks which was a great deal. We certainly got our money worth....ten times over! Street Sweeper Social Club was very very good...didn't know what to expect at first. By the time they finished, the crowd was really into them. NIN I had never seen, but wanted to for a long time. Trent put on a more stripped down show than the earlier leg of tour, but he delivered the goods and lived up to all my expectations. He totally commanded the entire crowd, and it was mesmerizing to see. The stage and light design was simple, but the synchronization to the music was brilliant. Perhaps it was the cookies I ate earlier?? but at some points I thought we were all subjects of a mass-hypnosis experiment! Trent knows how to get in your head. Finally, Janes Addiction took the stage and tore the house down. Having never seen them, I was quite interested. They pulled out all the stops. In contrast to NIN's "stripped down" show, JA bathed the place in colored lights, and had all sorts of cool visuals, including a psychedelic backdrop with larger than life nude women with resemblance to the Joker. The chemistry between band members was electrifying. I never considered myself a Jane's Addiction "fan" before; I liked their music, but after seeing this show I have a new respect for them. At the end of the night, we shook our heads in disbelief and said "What an amazing show!" The bands complimented each other perfectly.

My daughter Jessica is Trent's #1 FAN!!! No Lie! :) We saw NIN last year at the Great Western Forum. Of course my daughter had to see Trent again so off to San Diego/Chula Vista we went! The seats we got were EXCELLENT!! From the first band that came out to Jane's Addiction, the concert was JAMMIN'. As a fan of R&B Soul, Jazz, Latin music, I can truly say... when you see NIN perform you automatically respect the talent of Trent and the members of his band. Excellent Show filled with energy and music that made you grove along w/the band. Oh, the added treat for me was Dave Navarro!!! Sexy!!! OWWWWWWW! :)

NIN & Jane's Addiction show rocked!!! One of the best concerts I've been to. The venue was awesome, our seats were great, the event staff were friendly and courteous. Would definitely watch more concerts at this venue. I would give it 5 stars but I have to go with 4 only because of parking....we tried to find 'free' parking & everything was taken....after driving around aimlessly, we just bit the bullet & paid the $20.00

I took my son and bought seats in row 6 and row 12 section101, Soundgardens "sound" was terrible and who would pay and not atleast get Spoonman or Black Hole Sun? Really? Now NIN was nothing less than excellent one of the most well managed sets of visuals attention to detail was that of borderline ART!! Sound exceptional!!! I go to mass concerts and if you left before NIN I feel sorry for your loss. I will definetly go for a repeat experience of NIN,as for Soundgarden, not even as an opener, sorry if you're a hardcore fan

The sound for the Sound Garden portion of the show was atrocious. I couldn't understand a word Chris Cornel was singing and I know the words to most of the songs. The guitars and bass were distorted as well. When NIN took the stage the sound was crystal clear. Every note and word was perfectly clear. NIN was so much better that I almost forgot Sound Garden had played that night. If Sound Garden had not played, I would rate the show 5 stars. The side screens at White River are quite dated. The images were dull and blurry. They need to upgrade that system after 10+ years now.

NIN was the headliner here, but at this venue, at this locality, Soundgarden should have headlined this show. They are from here. They weren't able to do an encor due to time constraints. The crowd was was trying the best to call them back on stage, but to no avail. Soundgarden had to make way fir Nine Inch Nails. That doesn't even sound right. Not surprisingly, quite a large sum of the crowd left right after Soundgarden wrapped up (as did my wife and I.). We were there to see Soundgarden and so did much of the crowd.

To start it out, I love both bands. Chris Cornell sounds as fantastic as he always has. One of the best rock singers of all time in my opinion. Trent Reznor is a genius! One of the coolest starts of a show that I have ever seen. I danced the entire time him and his band were onstage. I saw them when they were in Seattle last October and loved the show. They never disappoint. The combo of the two was one of the best shows I've ever seen, and I go to a ton of shows!

The sound guy needs a good talking to. The music was so loud that any lyrics were drowned out. By the end of Sound Garden, I was ready to leave. I've attended plenty of concerts at this venue and this was by far the worst. Too bad. I was really looking forward to "hearing" Sound Garden.

I have always wanted to see Soundgarden and they did not disappoint. SG didn't play all of their singles or most popular songs, but they played a lot of fan favorites. Chris Cornell's voice was amazing and Kim Thayil absolutely tore it up on guitar. I am a causal NIN fan; didn't buy the ticket to see them. NIN were great though. Trent Reznor is a rock star! The lighting and visuals were top notch and complimented the heavy industrial music well. Good stuff! White River has to be the worst venue in all of Washington State.

Decided to go since I got a ticket for just $20, and I do enjoy listening to Soundgarden, and NIN is alright if I'm in the right mood. Soundgarden did not disappoint, playing pretty much all their major hits and playing a lot from Superunknown album, which is nice for me living in the past. NIN also put on a really good performance - high energy, loud, and nice digital lighting effects behind them on stage. Their newer stuff sounds really "clubby" though, which I don't particularly care for. Of course, it was at Jiffy Lube Live, which is way out in the middle of nowhere, parking is HORRIBLE with incompetent "ushers" directing traffic, and the lawn is too far away to really see the stage clearly; you feel like you're watching from afar and aren't really connected to the show.

Well this was the 8-th time seeing NIN. Always wonder what they can do different and they have never left me disapointed. SoundGarden was very good but I felt like they played just a little to long taking a little time from NIN. D E P was very good also this was my third time seeing them. You cannot go wrong with a NIN show, they wake you up with the new stuff and make you crazy with the old.

While it was a thrill to see Soundgarden - especially from the 6th row! - their sound was so muddy that it took away from the fun. Too loud. I thought it was just me and/or my ears, but when NIN came on, I realized it was Soundgarden's system/people that were off, as NIN sounded excellent. They were tight, and totally wailed. As my husband said afterwards, "I would drive a great distance to see Nine Inch Nails again". While I am a big SG fan, I can't say the same for them. Chris Cornell is awesome, but he was all over the pitch range, which may be part of why the sound was mixed in such a way as to distort them!

For Soundgarden: The Badmotorfinger and UltramegaOK songs where much better and than the super unknown and later songs, but I never liked black hole sun anyway. Overall the songs seemed a beat slower than the original recordings, but still great! But NIN sounded like they did when I saw them tour with Marilyn Manson (on their first tour in 1994)...high energy and great stage show. Well worth the price of admission. Trent Reznor is the man when it comes to industrial metal!

This was the first time I'd had a chance to see Soundgarden. I've been a long time fan so I was really looking forward to it, and I wasn't disappointed. Chris Cornell looks and sounds amazing! It doesn't sound like age has affected his voice at all. Soundgarden played a lot of songs from Superunknown plus several of the best tracks from Badmotorfinger. I loved every moment of their show and so did the crowd. I feel they should've had a chance to play a longer set. This was my 3rd time seeing Nine Inch Nails. Reznor is a great entertainer, and he feels every bit of the music. The light show was seriously great, although I could've done without the racks of white lights blasting our eyes. Although I enjoyed NIN, I didn't think the music was as interesting as Soundgarden's, but the crowd clearly disagreed with me as they were roaring their approval after every song.

1994 was the year of Soundgarden's and Nine Inch Nails' biggest albums, "Superunknown" and "The Downward Spiral", respectively. When you see each band in concert, you will forget that it has been that long. Soundgarden's original lineup is back with a new album, and they sound as good as they ever did (Chris Cornell hasn't aged a bit). Whereas Soundgarden's set featured one new song and many fan favorites (like "Jesus Christ Pose", "Gun", "Searching with My Good Eye Closed", "My Wave", "Fell on Black Days", "Outshined"), Nine Inch Nails' set focused more on newer material (the "old" favorites were still there, like "Head Like a Hole", "Closer", and "Hurt", but the newer songs dominated the set, and effectively so). Nine Inch Nails thrilled the audience with their impressive light show, intense vocals, and pulsing beats. Both bands were captivating while completely different. Whether you're already a fan of one of these bands or both, this is a double-bill not to miss! //Soundgarden: 7:58pm - 9:04pm (Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd, and Matt Chamberlain (because Matt Cameron is touring with Pearl Jam).//NIN: 9:36pm - 11:00pm (Trent Reznor, Robin Finck, Alessandro Cortini, llan Rubin: Finck was the only of these musicians with Reznor in 1994).
