Very appropriate multimedia show. Great seeing the original lineup rocking out on their songs. Show had the attitude that any Native New Yorker and NJ-ite would appreciate. Putting everything in near chronological order complete with back story set this show apart from most I've seen.

The only complaint was the music was so loud it overpowered the vocals at times.

Show was fantastic! Was an extremely hot night and it didn't stop any of the musicians from putting on an exceptional performance. Never saw the Rascals before December 2012. Have seen them 16 times now. They just keep getting better and better with every show. And the show is over so fast, you leave wanting to hear more music.

The Rascals broke up in 1970 and hadn't played together since, except for the night they were inducted into the Rock Hall. Thanks to Stevie Van Zandt, the band has reunited and he's wrapped them in a knockout of a show that honors the men and their music. Part concert, part documentary, part Bway show...the evening is hard to describe but astonishing to see and hear. The guys sound and play like they're 19 again and the hits just keep on coming...and coming...and coming. The audience is up dancing, screaming and clapping for joy. You must experience this, it's beyond fantastic.

I got tickets for my wife, daughter and myself. I wanted my daughter to see one of the greatest groups of the 60s. Have her listen to the music her mother and I both listened to as teens and young adults. My thinking is that since the band is a lot older, the music would be there, but their voices would only be partially there. It would be really good, but not great. I was totally wrong. These guys were amazing. Simply amazing! The whole setup was amazing. From the talking on the screen, visual video background, and lighting, to their singing. Let me also give credit to their backup singers and the other musicians. I have gone to many concerts in my time and this concert was definitely in my top five. This is one concert I will never forget. And I speak for my wife and daughter also. Thank you Felix, Dino, Gene and Eddie. Also thank you Steve Van Zandt for making this concert possible.

Have been a fan of the rascals since 1966 but have never seen them live. So it was a big thrill to see them back together again. They still sounded great after all these years and they performed all their hits. My three guests also loved the concert. If your a Rascal fan or just a fan of 60's rock & roll I highly recommend this event.

The showroom at Turning Stone is a wonderful venue. Seats are comfortable and sitting at the tables looked like it would be fun, too. Felix Cavaliere was excellent and the band played all of their hits and mixed in some great oldies of other bands.

The Rascals were great the music was flawless. The background information and how it was delivered added to the enjoyment. The backround singers were great and were an asset to the production.

Awesome show highlighting the formation and trials and tribulations of the Rascals. Amazing sight and sound experience. Dino Danelli still twirls his drumstix, Gene Cornish still plays a mean guitar.Eddie Brigati still sounds great on How can I be sure, and Felix Cavalliere on the organ still sounds great.

On a hot July night, The Rascals tried to turn back the clock to the turbulent 60's, and for the most part were successful. The band performed the songs from their catalogue with zest. Although the vocals at times showed the wear of age, these transgressions were few and far between and the strength of their top ten hits made this a non issue. The show was enhanced by footage and background from the bands past played behind them on a big screen. This band is a classic that missed out on its best years because of internal bickering. See them while you can. Thanks Miami Steve!

My wife and I went to the show at Jones Beach NY and another couple. They put on a two-hour show, but part of the show is autobiographical. This was quite unique - we've never seen this before. I really don't want to spoil the surprise but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Watching it shows how life happens. The sounds and singing were in synch, but they could have sung a few more hits. Would I see it again - definitely, because It's Wonderful .

The first hour dealt with the formation of the band. However, did they have to play so many of the cover songs they performed then? A medley or two would have sufficed. The second hour was the fun stuff: Good Lovin', Groovin', A Beautiful Morning, A Girl Like You, How Can I Be Sure and the highlight - People Got to be Free. NOTE: This is the touring version of the limited-run Broadway show over-produced by Maureen & Steven Van Zandt. The documentary style comments by the Rascals were tiresome at times. However, the archival footage brought back many wonderful memories. Was very offended when the f-bomb was dropped by the announcer at the start of the show. The Rascals dropped the f-bomb at the very end. Not necessary at all.

Wasn't sure what to expect but Dino still rocks the drums! Did enjoy the "biography" in between the songs and they sounded good for a group who hasn't played together in a long time!

Second time I've seen them this time around (first was on Broadway). The four Rascals and the entire show was just perfect. This was mt favorite band for the five years that they were together and didn't disappoint. Please record! Please come around again!

The band sang and played exceptionally well. Gene Cornish at lead guitar was awesome. Dino Danelli at drums didn't miss a beat. The voices of Felix Cavaliere and Ed Brigatti were close to their early days. The backround video about the bands history added a nice touch.

Nice interplay of brief commentary by band members on history of the band and songs as their time line progressed. Would have been better if they did more of their top hits instead of many songs I didn't know.

The first time I saw the Rascals was in 1967 at Central Park's Wolman Rink. They were known as The Young Rascals back then. In essence, they were New York's Beatles. There were four of them, and each member had his own fan base. Nothing can ever recapture the feeling of 1967, aka "the summer of love". The Rascals broke up unexpectedly and as much as they were loved, were never seen or heard from together again until Steve Van Zandt made the unimaginable happen. Despite a history of infighting between the two key members, Felix Cavaliri and Eddie Brigati, he brought them together. Thank God he did. The four original members at long last reunited to appear in a Broadway stint that lasted approximately 4 weeks earlier this year. Van Sandt put together a show, supposedly modeled after Jersey Boys. I say "supposedly" because I have not seen that show. As most Broadway shows go, the tickets were much too expensive for consideration This was most disappointing. We thought we would not participate in the joy of their reunion. but in early May, my husband discovered that the Rascals' production would be playing at Jones Beach. We jumped on the chance as soon as we realized it was monetarily doable. The Rascals original chemistry was intact. Brigati and Cavaleri's vocals are as good as back in the day. Dino Danelli's drumming is more amazing that ever, although he no longer looks like Paul McCartney. Gene Cornish's guitar playing was just as impressive. One unfortunate, inescapable aspect for all of us baby boomers is what aging has done to us who were once so incredibly beautiful. It is hard seeing one's idols as old men. Harder yet to accept that we are in the same condition. We who swore to die before we got old along with Pete Townsend, but didn t, continue to feel Rock and Roll's magic. Music is nirvana in our memory cells, and video can make us relive everything as it once was. We overlook Brigati's once carefree sexy tambourine slap dancing for the silly bounce that has replaced it. The original is back-dropped on video behind the live performance of the band. The beautiful gap between Eddie's teeth is no longer beautiful, but it can't really be seen from where we sit. Eddie for sure standing up there doing what he used to do along with Felix, Gene and Dino! "How can I be sure in a world that's constantly changing." The only thing for sure is our past... and how it connects our generation. Great Show!

HOCK
It was great seeing the band back together after all these years. Unfortunately, unless you were very close to the stage, you never saw the band up close playing, unless they were on the middle screen in pre-recorded segments. Usually, at Jones beach, they have both side screens on camera with a live feed of the band playing. Our seats were in the orchestra section, right behind the corporate seats and we couldn't see the faces of the band so anyone behind us (which is most of the seats in the stadium) couldn't see the band up close playing either. The band itself sounded okay at most times. Felix still sounded great, his voice is still strong and Dino D. is still a fantastic drummer, he was spot on all night as was Gene C. on guitar. Hopefully Eddie B. just had an off night, his voice seemed off that night. The pre-recorded part of the show was informative about the band and era that they played in but when it came to explaining why they broke up, the issue was kind of danced around, other than Eddie B. saying it was his fault. I would see them again if they lose the "once upon a dream" part of the show. The band can stand on their own with just their music.

A few months back I saw Felix Caviliere at a small venue in Bayshore where I am a member and always enjoy my 3rd row center seats. This was one of the most expensive tickets they have had. It was billed as an intimate night with Felix. I last saw Felix in the Catskills about 28 years back. He was also a guest at the hotel and was there with his two twin daughters who were about 2 years old. In Bayshore he spoke of his recent experience with his daughters expensive wedding. My wife said that's why he came out of hiding to perform...he needed the cash. He was totally unprepared for an audience. His synthesizer was broken. He used an apple mac instead. He sang about 1-1/2 minutes of several songs. Then he asked the audience to help him out. His voice was shot. He didn't remenber the lyrics. He "performed" for about 45 minutes then said he would take questions. People actually had questions. I was embarrased for him. I have always liked him. So it was with an attitude that I went to Jones Beach thinking things would improve. Well there were a few good numbers...Groovin' and It's A Beautiful Morning. Also Gene belted out a fine version of How can I Be Sure. These three tunes were the only decent numbers. My wife was ok with the performance.

The unique combination of chronology and history of The Rascals was fantastic. So many other Groups do the same thing (Shows) over and over. It may be over 40 years but it was worth the wait for experience.

The music was great...We saw the show on Broadway and loved it so much, we saw it again. The band sounds just the same as they used to. Felix gets a little creative every now and again, but I think that's what keeps it fresh. Story was interesting. It's a great night out.

Saw the Rascals in Central Park in the 60's. The opening act was "The Jimmi Hendrix Experience" who was virtually unknown at the time. I always wondered how the two acts paired up. This was explained in the retrospect that each of the Rascals did on the screen during the concert. I loved finding out the background of each of the bandmembers, the songs and the history of how the band was formed. It was one of the most refreshing concerts that I have been to in years. They seemed so happy together now that their issues have been ironed out. I would see them again in the near future.

This show brought me right back to 1968, the last time I saw the Rascals live. Their show was a fabulous anthology from the early 60's until today. I enjoyed the interviews, vignettes and incidents they described over the past 40 years. The music was great as always and they still perform at the highest level. Kudos to Felix, Dino, Gene and Eddie as well as to Steve van Zandt and his wife for their wonderful production. It was an unforgettable night! We can't wait for them to play Long Island in the future and really hope they do next year.

The vocals and music were just like they were in the 60s and 70s. The 4 Rascals were rehearsed and gave the audience over 100%. Their voices were amazing-- like a CD. Saw the show in NYC; this is second time seeing Once Upon a Dream. You do need to advertise more. A few open rows in back. This should have been a sellout.
