Men of a "certain age" they rocked it, and the vocal harmonies were sublime. Seattle crowd loved these Scotsmen!

they've been doing this for thirty years so they're good at it. the newer material benefited from being played live, the older stuff was still great. there aren't a lot of bands this good for this long still playing

There are only a handful of acts that have stayed together are are better today than they were 28 years ago. Other than The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and a few others, who else can belt out 100 plus singable songs? TFC! Great show.

Great show! It was my first time seeing them. Great melodies and harmonies. Not a lead guitar note wasted.

It's been a decade since I had the pleasure of seeing Teenage Fanclub. I had to drive nearly 8 hours from Wisconsin to do it, and it was completely worth it. They still sound amazing, engage the crowd and have a blast. They played so many songs I wanted to hear too. My only complaint was they ignored "Thirteen", which I think is arguably their best album, and didn't even play one song from it. All in all, the best show I've seen all year! :)

Great show by Teenage Fanclub with a great set list. The mix in the El Rey was quite bass heavy (both kick drum and bass guitar), and since the band now plays a lot of songs with clean guitars, the bass was overpowering at times. When they kicked in the overdrive, everything sounded great. Unfortunately a lot of the keyboard sounds were overpowered in the mix the whole time. I haven't been to the El Rey for a while so I don't know if they typically crank the bass so much, or at least just recently. Otherwise, the songs and harmony singing were fantastic. Highlights included: Sometimes I don't Need to Believe in Anything, Discolite, Ain't that Enough, Sparky's Dream, Don't Look Back, Starsign, the Concept, I Don't Want Control of You, I Need Direction, and many more. Go if you have the chance.

For a band that's been at it for over 20 years, they showed they haven't lost one bit of their excellent songcraft. Performing tunes from most of their 9 studio albums, TF gave us what we wanted; a plethora of engaging, tuneful numbers that constantly charmed. The band's 1995 album "Songs from Northern Britain" is obviously a favorite of the band, as they did more songs from it than any of their other albums, including their newest, "Shadows". It was great to hear "Can't Feel My Soul" done live after I had just listened to it in the car driving over to the gig. I didn't expect them to do that song, so it was a treat. Others from the album, "Ain't That Enough", "I Don't Want Control of You", and "Your Love is the Place Where I come from" were also performed, to the delight of the crowd. No "Pet Rock" (a personal favorite) but I wasn't expecting it anyway.

I've been a fan of this band since 1991, when they released Bandwagonesque. This was a really enjoyable show. I didn't know all of the songs -- some of them (about 4 or 5) were new -- but all of them sounded great. They looked like they were enjoying playing, which is incredibly refreshing. The venue (the Bowery Ballroom in NYC) -- to which I'd never before been -- was also terrific. Very low maintenance, easy to get a drink, and fun. All in all, it was a great night. Incidentally, I couldn't find this on the internet before the concert, but although the doors opened at 7, Teenage Fanclub did not hit the stage until shortly before 10:30 pm. Two other bands opened for them on this night.

Teenage Fanclub was fantastic. I've been a fan for about 15 years and had never seen them live before. They played songs from all of their albums and sounded amazing.

I think the crowd at Royale was initially amazed that Teenage Fanclub was as good as they were, that a band could do what they do as well as they did! Gorgeous melodies, three and four part harmonies, three great lead singers, chiming guitars, details in arrangement and instrumentation, and enthusiasm to boot! I'd recommend them to people who had never heard of the band or their music.
