I took my wife, my 23 year old daughter and 21 year old son to see Mose. I wasn't sure how the kids would react but they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Mose certainly did not perform like an 82 year old. He was energetic (he played two sets) and performed throughout with a wry smile and a wonderful right hand. Although his voice is not quite as honey coated as in his youth he still sounded like the missing link between blues and jazz. This was my first time at The Birchmere and my wife and I are already looking at the schedule and planning to see Joan Armatrading in July. The Birchmere is a really nice little venue similar to the Rams Head in Annapolis and I recommend it highly but I would suggest eating dinner somewhere else before you attend.

This was the first time seeing Mose since 1992 at Blues Alley. I was surprised to see him on the Birchmere's line-up. Sadly, the show wasn't nearly at full capacity. Mose is an enjoyable entertainer. A calming influence in today's crazy world.
