Earl Klugh and the Band were truly playing at the top of their game Thursday night and the Birchmere was a perfect venue to establish synergy between the band and the crowd. Earl did not miss a beat and his band members were individually were well worth the price of admission. The saxophone player (I believe Tom Braxton) was truly exceptional. I highly recommend you attend if given an opportunity to do so. PS: A good selection of beer and wine. The food at the Birchmere was very good.

I will cherish the memories from this event forever. I really did have a blast on this show. Mr Earl Klugh is so professional and very down to earth. I felt every bit of love inside the event hall for Earl Klugg. I thought I would pass out when he stood up to take a picture with me, He also took time to sign everybody's CD even with the long line. I will love to see him every week if it's possible. My friends and I can't wait for another event by Earl Klugh.

This was a LOVE FEST! The players donated their time, and the audience turned out with high spirits to support an ALS benefit event for a very dear friend an business colleague, Deborah Lewow. It was SRO and high energy from the very first tune with Joey Sommerville and Drew Davidsen. Mindi Abair, Earl Klugh and Boney James brought their very best and the house was on its feet many times especially for the all hands on deck finale of the Beatles Tune , "All You Need is Love." The guests came from all over the country, including all three coasts - east, west and south. If you hear of another one of these benefits for Deborah you DO NOT want to miss it!

The show was on the water. It was raining outside, yet made the scenery very comfortable. Very romantic. There were a few technical difficulties with the sound system, but the show was overall very nice. The comedy act during intermission was surprisingly entertaining and there were a few recognized artists that were featured, as well as a surprise request from the audience to come to the stage and sing their favorite Michael Jackson song.

Walter Beasley was way better than expected. A very nice hour long set that included some old r&b songs and some very mellow new music from him. Much better than Kenney G! Earl Klugh is always wonderful! He had his old band together again with Ron Otis and Gene Dunlap and did a very nice set that highlighted individuals like backgound singer Millie Scott a Detroit favorite. He clearly played what he felt was good for him revisiting Detroit and his past memories from early albums. Not my choice for a set list though, but heh, Earl has so much material and who am I to expect anything but a good fun performance which he and his band did deliver. Chene is a nice venue along the river and should try to get more ethnically versitile acts to play there.

The entire show was excellent!!! All of the performers were fantastic! The band was a very pleasant surprise. The venue was well-suited for this type of gathering. I have seen all of the musicians before and they definitely did the event and its wonderful cause proud! Despite technical difficulties, Earl Klugh displayed what many of us have known for over 30 years----he is truly a consummate artist without peer for his genre. His passion for his music was awe-inspiring; especially his solo rendition of "Like A Lover"...truly remarkable.

Tuck and Patti were amazing. I hadnt seen them in concert since 1996 in York PA -- I have been a fan since that time. Tuck takes my breathe away. Their song writing is incredible. I wish they would do more USA tours. Love their committment to the musical industry and to each other-- can see the love they have for one another and their music. Earl Klugh and his band -- first time I saw them in concert and definitely will not be the last.

We had a fantastic time. Tuck and Patti did our favorite song at the end of their act. Earl Klugh??? Could have listened to him for another hour. Would love to see him again on a more frequent basis at the Jazz Fest. His band was excellent. He played current and old music. Excellent performance. Is there any way to note on the seating chart where the curtain on the stage begins? There were several guests complaining in the seats next to us. We were right at the end of the stage so the curtain did not affect us. The video was a bit rough. When they were spotlighting the bass player, they were showing his face. Not exactly what we want to see when they are featuring his ability to play. Would have loved to see his hands. But we were close enough to the front to actually watch him.

Earl has a magical way to get you into a peaceful groove, to feel the syncopation. His artistry is far beyond many other guitartist. He has full control over his tone and never sacrifices the appeal to the audience by being showy or unpolished. Mr. Klugh is always relaxed and smiling. Lenny Price on sax was great. Al Turner on bass was perfect as usual. David Lee a great compliment and also very amusing on keyboards and Ron Otis a master on the drums. My wife and I saw then in Bostin in Sept '09 and we were just as pleased. Our view was not nearly as good as then. The stage was too low and you could only see the top half of the performers. The video screens helped.

The concert had to be one of the best I have ever attended. He played beautifully, the acoustics were great, and the venue is so intimate it was like he was playing in your home. He was spontaneous in the songs he selected to play. Also entertaining was the side notes he provided about his experiences and the pieces he was about to play. After the concert he graciously signed and took pictures with attendees. The evening was mesmerizing.

He is an amazing and humble jazz guitarist. I would have like to have known in advance that it was going to be an acoustic concert. Just so I could set my frame of mind on a one man show and not his band. I was going there with the intention of hearing some of his songs he does with his band and there weren't many. However, he is a brilliant musician and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

Earl was great the show started a little late but was no big deal, there was a delay between acts but there was a nationally known comedian in the audience and he did a bit to kill time and brought the house down!! Earl's band was made up of all top shelf local musicians: Gene Dunlap, Ron Otis, Al Turner, Al Duncan, David Lee, and Lenny Price. He had Millie Scott, Key Ballard, and Gloria Ridgeway on background vocals. They did an excellent job!

My wife and I are big Earl Klugh fans. We've been following him for 40 plus years. We've seen him in Colorado, on cruises and at many different venues. This was one of Earls best performances, it was a night to remember. We had a nice dinner before the show and then was overwhelmed by this beautiful show. The addition of Tom Braxton seemed to make the difference, Earl's previous Sax player was good but Tom took it to another level. We've been trying to get to Earl's weekend of Jazz in South Carolina for the last 2 years but my wife's health has made that impossible. This makes up for not making those shows.

I and two companions traveled from Milwaukee for this concert. Venue Staff were exceptionally warm and attentive. Concert was intimate, classy and Beautiful. One minor glitch...Somewhere in the Kimberly Clark Theater something metal is not properly anchored or insulated. There were annoying sympathetic vibrations with the bass line. Otherwise, a very enjoyable evening. I will consider other offerings at this venue especially the ones in cabaret seating!

The Earl Klugh Show was fantastic. I really enjoyed the event. The music was amazing he is a master of his craft. He expresses so many emotions through his guitar strings and said so much more than words could ever say alone. The musicians he had with him were all fantastic and masters of their instruments. The saxophone player was seamless from note to note and the bass player was laying down the bottom perfectly. The keyboard player was great and played each note gracefully yet funky. The drummer was also a wonderful musician that played with so much knowledge and feeling. All the musicians were GREAT! Something that is rare these days. Hearing real musicians play is something I truly appreciate and this show renewed my compassion for music and life. I am a Earl Klugh fan and I was heaven at this show because he played some of my favorite songs!

It has been about 35 years since I had last seen Earl Klugh in concert, I especially like that he has a great band, with the amazing keyboard player who was just off the charts. The band alone would be able to take a show on the road. Earl is still very talented and a laid back artist who gives you such genuine talent on the guitar. I will count him among one of my best non-vocal artists in my lifetime. GO EARL, keep on moving "I know this is George Benson" on BOARDWAY!! Really thought that the venue was fabulous!! I went out with friends to celebrate a birthday. The venue was packed, but not overcrowded. There was a large screen and the stage was raised, so you could see Mr. Klugh from any seat. Although the unimaginative between two ferns setup is boring beyond belief, given Earl's laid-back, non-exuberant demeanor, I guess the stage setup was fitting. The view on the large screen was a bit blurry. He performed hits and a couple of new songs. It was a pleasant concert.

The interview of Earl Klugh by David Basse started the evening in a very relaxed manor promptly at 7pm. Klugh was much more relaxed than I could have imagined and gave a wonderful interview about how he started and his time with George Benson up to today. He was extremely friendly and has a soft voice. David Basse was excellent as the interviewer and knew which questions to ask. Klugh started his show promptly at 8pm with his quartet, then introduced them after the first piece. He good to his band and had many admirable things to say about them. They have been together as this group at least 10 years. There is no question they play off of each other and allow each other to show their own talents. All of his members had time to play solos and they were incredible. Keyboards sould a wide scope of talent both ib the melody and percussions. The bass guitar showed variety and was played in a manner that could be its own show. The drums were and solo showed talent, rhythm, and scope of ability. All together they blended into an amazing performance. When the end of the first hour came, I was surprised they were coming back after a break. They truly appeared to enjoy what they were doing and did not appear to be just "going through the motions". I would see them again at anytime. They played a variey of tunes from different albums and times in Klugh's career.

If you are a Smooth Jazz fan how could you have other than an outstanding event with the likes of Boney James, Mindi Abair and Earl Klugh. Then, to frost the cake with the likes of Joey Somerville and Yonrico Scott made for a magical evening. It was truly a heartfelt event for Deborah and ALS of Georgia. The entertainers really had their hearts into their performances and everyone there could feel the magic of the evening. Sadly it is rare that Atlanta can get top Smooth Jazz Performers together in a single event such as this. When the opportunities do come around, do not pass them up.
