I actually sat there listening to the three incredible musicians thinking about a comparison to professional sports players. If you've ever seen a professional football player running down the open field and getting tackled by an opponent, one can't help but think about superhuman abilities. Michel Legrand and his two buddies reminded me of just that.... superhumans. The speed and accuracy of the notes were only rivaled the sensitivity of the emotions. Too often, musicians use speed to dazzle. Michel's and Francios's impressive speed was simply a byproduct of the intensity in which they play. I will never forget seeing the great Michel Legand - finally in my life. He is indeed a hero amongst the greatest musicians to ever entertain us. Thank you so much!

My husband and I went to see Michel Legrand at the Keswick theatre. we gfound the show very entertaining. The trio played fantastic. From the piano, to bass fiddel to drums. we enjoyed the entire show. The only complaint i have is not with the act but with the theatre. The keswick needs a major overall. The floors are ripped and ceiing is torn. Its a beautiful theater if fixed up.

This performance by film composer legend Michel Legrand brought back so many memories. This guy still has major chops! Playing and singing all his own music with a great bass player and drummer. His voice is not the best at his age, and he could have used a horn on the 2 songs that he wrote with Miles Davis. All in all, though, a very enjoyable evening.

The highlights of the show were Jon Voight and Jennifer Oneal emceeing the show, Jerry Lewis, and George Benson. The rest, especially the old (and I mean old) performers trying to sing, seemed to drag the show down. Frank Sinatra Jr, Patti Page, and Andy Williams just put me to sleep. Yes, they sang good for their ages, but I think the show could have been more upbeat if the songs were performed by some younger singers. Maybe I expected more, but we couldn't stay past the hour and a half mark. I made a note to myself that when Michel Legrand does his next 50 years of music review, that I would skip it.

Considering the age of Michel Legrand, one can easily see his high level of energy in order to be "on stage" for nearly three hours. To be able to conduct the orchestra, play classical music, and sing gives me insight to his genius.

This show was amazing because there was so much talent on the stage at once. Michel LeGrand is a true master and a joy to watch, as is his harpist wife. The full orchestra sounded fabulous (kudos to those Vegas professionals brought together just a few days prior). And how often does one have the chance to enjoy so many show biz legends in one gathering? The only 'problem' was trying to figure out what to watch -- the entire stage, the big screens focusing on close-ups of the talent, or the background screen showing clips of the movies from which the songs were known. Overall, a very entertaining night - good humor and great music!

When I bought the tickets there was no indication that the audience was just a tool to make a DVD or taping for a TV show. They didn't even tell us at the actual event what was going on but it was clear that we were only there to applaud when told to applaud. No one was trying to entertain US - it was all about entertaining someone who might buy the DVD. This was far from the Vegas extravaganza that I would have expected. Steve Lawrence almost falling off the stage was about the only genuine excitement there was, and it wasn't what I was hoping for. BORING!!!!!!

Late start. Interruptions to prepare sets for TV taping. Hokey hosts who couldn't remember their lines (or read them properly from the teleprompter) and requested re-takes in front of a live audience! Over-the-hill crooners who can't carry a tune anymore. Blaring over-amplification to the point of distortion. (Why bother with a live orchestra under these conditions?) All thesethings marred an otherwise memorable evening honoring a true genius. Michel LeGrand dazzled at the keyboard, improvised joyously with George Benson (who scatted his way through his number when he forgot the lyrics), and led the assembled forces through a wide range of his award-winning movie scores showing not just the beauty of his ballads, but also spiky Stravinsky-like harmonies (Ice Station Zebra) and upbeat modernist riffs (LeMans). A great, but flawed tribute.

Performance was outstanding. Michel Legrand is really a genius, not just because Jon Voight said it. The man is really talented. Seats were outstanding, with one exception: one blue light that shined through whole performance in our eyes. We had to shield our eyes if we wanted to see any of the performers. Many of us wondered why the lights were even necessary as it seemed as if they were not even necessary or used. Ticketholders next to us were terribly disatisfied because of the light. Could not believe the talent of Michel and his wife on the harp!!!

The entire guest list was a moving experience to see and hear some of the greatest entertainers of the past 40 some odd years. The orchestra was fabulous! It brought back a lot of memories. I'm going to rent all of the movies now.

I paid $90 for a performance and got a TV show in the making. Several of the performers had not been seen performing for years and for good reason, they can no longer carry a tune. I won't mention who because they were great in their time. Legrand's music is wonderful, but the show Saturday was not for an audience and I feel ripped off

Last night should have been an amazing show. It certainly was highly anticipated. But whenever Michel tried singing his own songs it just made the audience cringe. He may be multi talented, but believe me singing is not his virtue. If he just stuck to instrumental or had pre recorded or taped versions of the stars that made his beautiful melodies famous, well that would have been fantastic. If they had a large screen of them pre taped and singing that would have been better. His musical guest Mario Pelchat was not better than a lounge singer from Vegas. He was also clearly more comfortable singing his songs in his native tonue of French than his stiff English renditions. The one bright spot in the evening was solo harpist Catherine Michel. Her rendition from Yentyl was mesmorizing. All in all it was not a memorable evening.
