John Williams

It was a wonderful performance. Both guitarists possess great technique and musicality. The best part of the night was the amazing interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's suite 998 by John Williams. It was flawlessly played. The sound colors Williams gets out of his Smallman guitar are amazing, and his interpretation was unconventional with very well controlled changes in rhythm. John Williams is arguably the best classical guitarist of our time. The duo parts were awesome as well, John Etheridge is a great guitarist who plays with a lot of passion. Both guitarists have a lot of charisma that the audience really likes. A must see.

I felt that it was a lack of balance between the two guitars -I feel that Etherridges guitars were too dominant almost thrughout the concert -and sometimes a little too noisy. But of course :two great artists!

seeing these two great players in an intimate setting as this recital hall is a wonderful experience. but other than Williams playing of the Prelude, Fugue & Allegro, the music was just ordinary. Some pieces were difficult to sit through. Williams technical ability is just amazing. Far beyond those of the mortal man.
