For me it was the greatest just seeing my son's face all lit up with excitement! I was so happy with his reactions it almost made me cry with joy!! I know that we'll never forget his eighth birthday for as long as we both live!!!
My children are 22 months, 4 and 6 years old. They are never still but they were from the minute the show began until the end. They didn't even get up to boogie at the end to "Move It, Move It". They were so caught up in the show and the songs. They loved it and have been talking their older brother's ear off about it since they came home; that was two days ago.

I took my four year old son to see this play. I was skeptical at first about how much he would enjoy it but as soon as we were seated he was excited. What a grand wasted opportunity! Too expensive for what it provided. Story line was lost to small kids. Not interactive enough. I went to great links to get my granddaughter (age 3 1/2) there. Disappointing! Rec: improve story line so kids can follow it, get the characters in the aisles, improve the effects -- I know this wasn't Lion King (which I saw on Broadway) but it was so far less. Talented performers were not supported because of the above.

Great for kids! My 3 year old loved it!! It kept her attention the whole time and she is a highly energetic kid. The music was great...they sang "Move It" several times. The characters were hilarious and true to the movie. The only thing I didn't like was that some of the props were strange...a floating fish on a stick that supposed to look like it was in the water?!

Overall the show is good for the toddler set. I went with 2 girls, 8 & 9, and while they enjoyed the show, they did get a little bored towards the end. I thought the show was too short for the money paid ($120.00 for 3 tickets). The show was 45 mins for the first half; 15 minute intermission, 20 minute ending. Therefore the show was just over an hour long. I could have stayed home and watched all releases on video and had a better time. The costumes were cute, the penguin characters and Gloria were our faves. Lastly, I wish the theaters would stop selling those annoying battery-operated light sabers and whirly-gigs!! We had annoying toddlers seated on both sides of us who kept turning on those ridiculous toys throughout the entire show. Needless to say it was disruptive and incredibly rude of the parents not to put them away. Note to parents - respect the other theater goers and control your obnoxious kids!

Well, I have taken my kids to see a few shows at radio city (Barney, Diego, Backyardagains, etc...) and the past shows were a hit with me and my kids. My kids and I were very excited and looking to have the same enchanting experience as in the past, however it stop short of ok. It was a nice show overall, however I felt they should have engaged the kids more into the show. cause most kids were rather like ok, like watching a movie. You sit and watch and then leave, no interaction / motivation with the audience (kids). They need to know who they created the show for, which is the kids they like to have that special feeling of being a part of the show and have those little moments in the show where they are able to participate and have that interaction with the character's. It's just not about telling the story, the movie does that well a live show for kids should be geared more to making them a part of it, but other than that it was a good show music and performance wise.

I took my six year old daughter and my 11 year old niece. We really enjoyed the show but we were expecting a little more. For example, the show's plot did not completely follow the movie which we were expecting. If they were not going to follow the movie script then they should have made the live show even better...more music, interaction with the audience, and eye-catching sets/costumes. also, more crowd control is needed. the audience was way too loud. it was hard to hear the actors over the audience.

This was a pretty good show. When it was time for intermission nobody really knew if it was over or if it was intermission. It was funny but overall I feel it could have been better, mabe more animated acting or better costumes since it was a depiction of a cartoon. Also the I like to move it move it song did not sound anything like the movie, you barely heard the song you only heard the voice part. It was hard to follow along.

Our 4 yr old seemed to like it however for a Broadway show we were very disappointed. We were at more impressive off Broadway shows at a 1/4 of the cost. Perhaps this is a lesson not to go for traveling shows. The costumes were underwhelming, the actor gestures were out of sync from the pre-recorded music. Overall very poor show.

I went to see this show with 11 family members and a friend with her family of 6. We ALL were extremely disappointed with the show. It did not live up to Radio City quality at all. The show was just ok for me. I napped during the second half, but my son really enjoyed it. It's not a show for me, I felt the dancing could have been more enthused and the singing could have been a little louder. But I'm an adult and it's really for the children, so based on my son's reaction, I would recommend to a friend.

My son is only 13 months and I took him because I hoped it would catch his attention with the singing and dancing and stage appearance and it met all of my expectations. He loved it, he danced the whole way and was deeply focused. View from my seat (Section - ORCH4 , Row - E, Start Seat 405, End Seat 408) was also amazing, I was skeptical because I didn't know if I would be able to see but b/c the orchestra seats also rise from bottom to top you have a great view.

The show was merely ok, the costumes were very cute, but I really wasn't engaged in this performance. I go to a lot of shows like this and I'm usually engaged. My 11 year old child enjoyed the show. Ironically, to be in a "Music Hall" I had a hard time hearing the performers, especially song lyrics. I didn't like that ticket holders had to wait ouside on a line and were not immediately allowed into the theater.

it was really nice... my kids enjoyed it ... however I was a little disappointed the 2 jumbo screens were not on. The last few times I went to see a kid show at radio city music hall the jumbo screens are on. I usually sit on the orchestra level and enjoyed the jumbo screens being on. however this time we were seated in the 3rd mezzanine which is pretty far, so therefore the jumbo screens would have been very helpful. I think my kids probably would have enjoyed it more if they were on.... For these type of shows the best bet is to get as close as possible even though its a lot more Pricey it might be worth it.

We took our 2 year old to see this, and I must say up front that he LOVED it. Honestly, that's the most important thing. He was absolutely captivated for the first half. The second half, he got a little restless, but he's 2. So for what we wanted this show to be - a stay-cation highlight for our little guy - it was great. Now, as far as we, the parents, were concerned, it was just okay. There were some amazing vocalists among the cast, and they did a great job with some of the dancing and acting in what I can only imagine must be very hot and awkward costumes. But the wow factor stops there. The setting left some things to be desired. They needed more levels and interest for us older viewers. The songs were very much all the same and stayed on nearly the same level the entire time, and the conveying of any sort of plot left much to be desired. If you are a frequent visitor of these kid-friendly events, maybe the following advice might help more than the star rating system provided in this review format: On a scale in which Broadway's The Lion King would be a 10 and the snake guy at my local library, who happens to be a somewhat-bitter ex-middle school teacher, would be a 1, I would say that it fell somewhere between Yo Gabba Gabba (a 7) and Sesame Street's Elmo's Green Thumb (a 4.5) performances. I would give it a solid 5 on such a scale.

Having just seen Shrek a few months earlier and throughly enjoying it, I took my teenage daughter to Madagascar in hopes of a similarly stellar performance. The younger children in the crowd seemed to be having a good time, but there isn't much adult or teen humor in the script, so we were pretty bored the whole time. Also, the show was relatively short (two 35 min sessions). Actors did a good job, but there wasn't as much action or humor as I would have liked to have seen.

Simply atrocious! This simply wasn't a ripoff...it was closer to outright fraud. We felt that they simply took a good story and used it to make a buck. Cute, but too short. Seemed like they just wanted to get some of the well -known lines in and get done with it. Had some scenes from madagascar 1 and 2 which was confusing. Should have stuck to 1st movie and not skipped over things like the beach scene with lady liberty. The end left off the most used line "just smile and wave boys". My son liked it but missed those things and felt it was over too quick. It was expensive for what it was.

Unfortunately, Madagascar was dreadfully boring and very poor acting. This appeared to be a thrown together performance on a middle school, amature level. The crowd was very restless and many voiced how they couldn't wait for it to end. It was very expensive and a waste of money. Worst part is, the kids were very disapointed. The show was not what i thought it would be. If you didn"t see the movie you probably be lost as soon as it started. This show was really a kid show , if you would call it that. I felt it was a low budget show, at times where there should have used people they used painted backgrounds. it seemed that only 8 to 10 actors played all the caracters. The kids seemed not to follow the show instead played with all the lighted toys their parents had bought them. I had a niece that saw the show Friday and said that the show was awful and i would agree. Not worth the money next time I would think twice.

For the amount of money that my family spent, I do not feel that we got our money's worth. The actors' singing was not great at all. It was as if they said, the kids dont know the difference between good and bad singing so lets put anyone up there. They did what I think most are doing when it comes to kids shows. In an attempt to appeal to adults too, they make up these horrible and corny sounding jokes while providing acts that will keep youngsters engaged.

I'm glad I didn't pay the original price of several hundred dollars for these tickets.... The adaptation was difficult to follow, even if you knew the story from the 1st Madagascar movie. First, they took the love match of Gloria (hippo) and Melman (giraffe) from the 2nd movie and added that to the story line of the 1st movie. Then they made how the animals got to the island so confusing my 5-year old son had a hard time following what was going on. In addition, there were some new characters called "foosa" and he didn't get what they were, why they were there, because they weren' t in the movie. Another new development in the show was that Alex the Lion was going to eat his friends, which also caused more undue stress. To add insult to injury, the language used by King Julien (the Lemur) was entirely inappropriate. Calling the main characters "freaks", screaming "shut up", etc. I was SHOCKED and APPALLED. All in all, I am terribly disappointed in the script, in the show. Waste of money.

I took my two kids, ages 3 and 4 to see Madagascar Live. THey absolutely loved the movie so thought this show would be a good idea. They sat totally spellbound through the whole show and didn't take their eyes off the stage. The show, like the movie, appealed to an extensive range of ages. I got the quick witty humor and thought it was brilliant. Alex, the lion was fantastic! The costumes and talent was a real treat.

the show was too short, between 75 and 80 minutes and it cost us a family of four almost $300. sort of $4 per minute!! the performers were in their own world and the audience was in another world! seems that the producers thought by keeping the 'you've got to move it' song, they ll have a real show. was so far from being something even we wish to talk about during our dinners!! very sad.

Very, very good show! Took 3 kids (2 aged 5 and one aged 3). They all loved it - as did the 3 adults! Highly recommended for that age group. Show length was perfect to capture and maintain attention. The glasses given out made the kids' day. Radio City simply doesn't have a bad seat int he house.

I expected more from the folks at Dreamworks. Uninspired scenery and songs. Thank goodness Radio City is such a spectacular setting.

The show was fun and cute. I took my 4 year old and he enjoyed the show as well. The costumes and the scenes were fun. This is a show that kids and adults will enjoy. The intermission was brief and the 2nd half of the show really took off. I would recommend the show.

Madagascar rocked per my 41/2 year old. It was just entertaining and long enough to hold her attention. She enjoyed the number "move it, move it" which is forever associated with King Julian per my daughter E. Would gladly recommend this to my friends.

it was low budget. Could have had more live & less mechanical characters. It didnt captue my attention, I fell asleep. However, my 7 year old son enjoyed it and that's what matters.

My family of four attended this event: my husband, myself, daughter 10, and son 7. My son enjoyed the performance but my daughter did not. Although the show followed the movie closely, which was nice, the songs, other than the "Move It' song from the movie were not entertaining. The show was boring and the audience response until the very end was pretty non-existent.

For what they're charging, they can afford a better production. The singing was okay, but there was no ensemble, minimal plot, and little humor. My nephew enjoyed it, but was far from jumping out of his seat with excitement and singing along.

The show was very cute. More for ages 4-8. The actors should have danced a bit more. The kids seemed into there performance once they danced.

This production is geared towards kids and only kids, not like Lion King where adults could feel the moment.
