I am an SNL addict, and love Jay Pharoah as a cast member on SNL. His impressions are outstanding and so hilariously accurate! I could NOT resist seeing his stand up. He was perfect. Every line was relatable and the show as overall fantastic. He had a great crowd and was even so gracious as to allow photos taken with him!! I would see him again and only makes me love his talents even more!

This guys is definitely underrated. I was glad to see him this early in his career, I think his future is bright! He did a great job of mixing comedy bits with his trademark impressions. I can recall him doing: Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, Will Smith, Steven A Smith, Shaq, 2 Chains, Lil Wayne, Drake, Denzel Washington, and some more that I've forgotten. I would definitely recommend this guy!

Unbelievable ability to impersonate many different people and incorporate it into a stand up act. He kept it entertaining throughout and had our entire table rolling. I'd highly recommend seeing this guy and seeing how talented his impression skills are.

Having enjoyed his limited work on SNL, I wanted to see what Jay Pharoah's stand up was like, and it turned out to be quite funny. While there were a plethora of impressions (his Denzel Washington is fantastic), he also did bits about his life as well, which was very entertaining.

Jay Pharoah was so funny in person! While integrating many of the impressions he has done on Saturday Night Live into his set, his non-impression material was even better. He did a great job of mixing impressions, including a few great musical blurbs and pieces, and typical stand-up jokes with setups throughout the show. Additionally, he interacted with the audience, without being mean or discouraging, a rarity for most comedians. He stayed after the show shaking hands and taking pictures with anyone who waited, and showed gratitude to all in attendances with a genuine feeling of sincerity. I have been to over 10 stand up shows in the past year, and Jay's is one of 2 that I can absolutely say, "I would love to see that comedian again, in the near future."

Jay Pharaoh was entertaining when he stuck to his act, but he was constantly going off script and interacting with hecklers. It got boring after a while because he wouldn't just ignore them, and essentially egged them on. Otherwise, the material he did do was good. I honestly liked his opening act better - he had a great setup and handled hecklers way better than Jay did - quick, and back to the point.

He's known for his impressions, but his standup absolutely killed. I've seen him at Caroline's in NYC, and now in downtown Boston. I'm watching the next Eddie Murphy or Chris Rock. (He'll never accept that complement, but it's true.) It's rare. Very very rare. Ps- His most underrated impression is Louis CK. -Steve Schwartz

Jay was on his game tonight. One of the funniest guys I've seen in a long time. He's a great comic and also a sincerely warm individual. See him when you have a chance you won't regret it. Much more dynamic in person than on SNL.While he does his thing on the Lorne show he really opens up in his stand up routine!

Jay is amazing! His set was hilarious, his delivery flawless, and being able to hear him perform a little bit of his own music, after hearing his impressions of other musicians for so many years on SNL, was a gift. I was also extremely impressed with the way he dealt with any negativity from an individual in the audience; he was respectful and quickly shifted to other topics but still maintained his positivity and high energy level. I see shows at the Wilbur a few times a month and Jay is my favorite person I have seen there in years. I hope he comes back to perform here again! Thank you, Jay Pharoah, for the happiness.

Great show! Jay and his opener AJ were fantastic, unfortunately he had to put up with a lot of crazy annoying people in the Audience who liked to scream at the stage but he handled it well. Why people have to get wasted to see a comedy show at 8pm is beyond me.

So so funny. Opening act was great, really got the crowd in the right mood. Jay, as expected, was phenomenal, stringing together different pieces and impersonations. At times it did get a bit touchy (Caitlyn/Bruce Jenner) but overall it was a hilarious show, would see it again in a heartbeat.

I gotta say, I didn't know what kind of show Jay Pharoah would do since I had only seen him on SNL before, and that is mostly scripted. Here he seemed to have a certain act in place, and certain impressions and jokes to make, but he improvised a lot, played with the audience and gave us a pretty awesome performance. I have to also acknowledge the guy who opened for him. Really funny, a lot more scripted but great jokes.

I really looked forward to seeing this comedian live. I had only seen snippets of his impersonations before which we re outstanding. Unfortunately his excessive use of the historically dehumanizing term of Nig__r detracted from his appeal greatly for some obvious reasons and some not so obvious!!! I truly hope that Jay modifies his speech in order not to; consciously or subconsciously; dehumanize the African American comedians whose shoulders he stands on and African American customers that pay his salary.

Outside of the uncomfortable jammed in there seating the talent was good. His impressions spot on. His use of the N word in a predominately white audience not so good. To be surrounded by people laughing at a word that represents generations of pain made me feel some type of way that I wasn t even prepared for. Overall he was a little all over the place wit his humor and towing the line of funny and inappropriate like he was playing double dutch, maybe now maybe now. He is WAY better than the Neptune. He should ve been at the Moore Theatre or done multiple shows at the Parlor.
