What an incredible, fantastic event! The Wilbur Theater was packed to see Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger, with David Brock of the tribute band "Wild Child" doing a great Jim Morrison stand-in. They played all the old songs, the favorites, lots of blues. Robby was the highlight of the night with his incredible guitar playing. Brought the house down! I loved that Brock didn't steal the show, which belonged all to the original Doors members, even though Brock looks and sounds like Morrison. This show is a MUST see if you want to experience what it must have been like to see the Doors in concert. The guys, though approaching 70, still have it; fantastic performers and they honestly look like they are having the time of their lives.

Ray Manzarek & Robby Krieger once again showed why they are legends. The material they have to call on is very well known, but the way they present it after all of these years is amazing. From start to finish the show was fantastic. The band is very solid. Overall just a great night of Rock & Roll.

The show was awesome--my husband and I loved it. While Jim and John D. were missed, the drummer was excellent, as was the singer. They played excellent songs that spanned the Doors career, and they sounded almost identical to their albums and older shows. I would really recommend this show to any Doors fan! A must see!

it was a little dicey at the beginning when robbie krieger tripped over a spotlight. he shook it off and he and the rest of the band played for 2 hours, with 2 encores and they rocked. the crowd was definitely into the show and i think the band fed off of it and played one heck of a show.

These guys are like a fine wine. They get better with age. My first time to the Paramount in Huntington. The venue was beautiful. Had the feel of the old Fillmore in NYC. Great place for dinner and the show. Just plain loved it.

Fabulous Show!!! Outstanding venue ! First time to the Paramount in Huntington - will definitely go again. Husband and I are major Doors fans - saw them last November at Westbury where they repeated their playlist of their only concert at Westbury iin the mid-1960's. We also were at their concert in Forest HIlls Tennis Stadium in 1968 where they were the opening act for Simon & Garfunkel. Got quite a kick out of Ray Manzarek giving a shout out at this show to everyone who attended the 1968 concert. As the saying goes: "I may be old, but I got to see all the great bands". Seeing Morrison in 1968 was a thrill. Dave Brock does an excellent job channeling Morrison.

Had never seen the Doors but alway wanted to. The music was amazing as expected and the new singer hit every note as Jim would have. He looked and moved amazingly like Jim. You would have a hard time telling the difference between recordings of Jim and new singer (Brock?) . Now trying to find the location of the next show.

Nice venue. Grea seats ! Great music! The Jim Morrison stand (Bill...?) in did an execllent job with both vocals and recalling the late great! Only negative, the room is mostly brick and cement. I thought the acoustics a bit muddy.

It was as if Ray, Robby, Dave and that whole band had been playing tOfether for years and years!!!! Their timing was impeccable- Dave came in with the vocals, on time, every time. His voice was so strong, and in tune. His movements, and mode of dress imitated Jim Morisson, but, in a way that I found to be completely reverent, and in no way cheesy or overdone. I seriously went to this show not knowing if I was going to embarrass myself, bringing my friends to some cruddy show, but it was a thrill in every way! Robby and Ray were totally energetic, charismatic, and intimate with the crowd. In addition, The Paramount is a phenomenal venue in every way. If these guys ever tour together again, I will DEFINITELY go, brining as many people as I can- and if you are a Doors fan- you should too!!!!!

My wife and I greatly enjoyed this concert. Ray and Robbie are great with the keyboard and guitar. David Brock did a good job with the lead vocals. He is a good fit with the original spirit of the band. Robbie Krieger was a real trooper, after taking a tumble during the first song of the night, he got right back up and played his heart out the entire show. We hope he wasn't too sore later.

Great show! Robbie and Ray really showed off their talents and the new lead singer, Dave Brock, made it possible to imagine being there thirty years ago once more. I saw the show two years ago and enjoyed that as well, but four songs into this show I was already hoping that they will be back just one more time to Boston. If so, I won't just ask my Doors fans friends from days of old, I will insist that they come or forever miss out on the experience!! I had a smile on my face for over two hours while these guys played a well thought out selection of songs including most of their hits. My twenty three year old son sang along to many of the songs and said his friends were all jealous that he was at the show and not them. Next time would love a little poetry mixed in with Light My Fire and even at the end of Road House Blues to reflect the American Prayer Album...please??!

Last night..GREAT CONCERT!! Finally, after all these years I got to see my favorite group perform… THE DOORS . They were awesome. They started the show with ‘Roadhouse Blues and ended it with the second encore ‘Light MY Fire . They played all their great songs including a 15 minute version of ‘When the Music s Over . The show lasted 2 ½ hours. It brought me back to those pleasant memorizes listening to The Doors in my 1970 Buick Skylark cranking the music with those Jenson Triaxials. The lead signer had the look of a young Jim Morrison and sounded just like him. Ray and Robby s performances were spectacular. Great time!!

Its kind of strange, I almost had the feeling that I was seeing a great cover band. But Ray and Robby where obviously crucial members of the original band. The guy singing wasn't trying to imitate Jim I don't think but certainly looked like him and sounded great. Couple of mix ups but have to say It was a very enjoyable concert. Until this year I had no idea they where even touring but I wish I had seen them all the times in years past that they came to Boston.

This concert was rock and roll at its finest. Ray and Robby were fully engaged, they had great rapport and interaction with the audience, and the audience was totally into the performance. The stand-in for Jim was very credible, the band was extremely professional, and both Ray and Robby repeatedly demonstrated why the Doors were such a great instrumental band. These guys are not some old geezers slowly playing the oldies. The band really rocked!!! If you are lucky enough to buy tickets, do so and enjoy!

I remember buying a DOORS album post Jim Morrison and was less than impressed. It just wasn't the DOORS without him. But, I was pleasantly surprised with this over the top nostalgic show. Robby Krieger is one amazing guitarist. Ray Manzarek lays down some of the most intriguing chords in Rock and Roll. It was pure pleasure watching these two legends perform some of the best music to come out of the 60's. They've added a Jim Morrison lookalike/soundalike and he does a great job at the part. The bassist (although the original band didn't have one) was really good and fit right in. The drummer was really good as well. I happened to be in the Wash DC area and was able to catch this performance at the Birchmere Theater...a fantastic space. I am from New Mexico originally and hope that Ray and Robby bring this tour through my neck of the woods. I would go see them again! They ended the night with LA Woman and Light My Fire and blew the doors off the place...way to go and thanks boys for a great show!

I went with my brother and a good friend and her husband. They had seen the show before. We hadnt. I thought the prices were WAY to high. I got the $66 seats. A few tidbits of conversation about the songs, maybe the frame of minds, how a song came about, something would have been nice. I know people dont want to much talking, but for that price, I wanted to know some personal things along with the songs. I could have heard the songs for $5 from Peacefrog. :(

Music was blues based, foot tappin' swing beat stuff with a touch of head bobbin' rock. Lyrics are poignant and relevant. Ray obviously just wants to get out, travel and play. I think he's demonstrating his passion for performing and still being creative with his own writting or collaborating with others. Will not take Doors requests. Don't make a fool of yourself by blurtting out Peace Frog. (And no it wasn't me). One should know that before attending the show. He really doesn't want to hear it. He will initiate any dialog regarding Jim or the band. Rays playing was on and Roy's slide is quick, accurate and tastefully unique. The bass & drums very tight. Not too busy and played what each song called for. I felt it necessary to see the show since I play guitar in a Doors tribute band.

After every concert I attend, I find myself saying: "that was THE best concert I've ever been to!" By this point, I'm a broken record, so I can't find the meaningful words to say that this one actually was. My young age never allowed me to catch a glimpse of the infamous God that is Jim Morrison. He was missed at this performance, but the stand in lead singer did a good enough job vocally to substitute in the sound as it should be, performing Doors hits on stage. Although, his presence to me was a mockery of what Jim Morrison was, so when in doubt I glued my eyes to the real showmen: Ray and Robby. Their presence and brotherly love was hypnotizing, catching moments of the two pointing at each other passing off the riffs back and forth from organ to guitar and back. And to top it all off, there's the intimate space that allowed me to lean up against the railing, looking up in awe, finding myself in the designated sweat zone! So close, we were sprayed with the remains of Robby's water bottle as he walked off stage pre-encore. Now I'll tell people "this was the night of my life." I think they'll understand it was a pretty good concert.

The show was great along with the venue !!!! However, we were not allowed to take pictures during the meet & greet. We were only allowed to have one thing signed and get about one sentence in with Robbie and Ray before event staff made people keep moving. It would have been nicer if Ray & Robbie sat down and took questions for the small group of people that paid over $140 to meet/greet them.

Last time I saw Ray Manzarek he performed a night of poetry and stories at a small theatre in Oregon and did not have Robbie Krieger with him. On Tuesday night at Club Nokia, Mr. Manzarek and Mr. Krieger played like living rock legends with their chemistry intact. Although they did not perform any poetry pieces, they still played a great lineup of the hits that made them world famous. This performance, compared to my last experience, was a concert. The band did a great job of complementing the headliners. Another interesting thing, a painter in the background did psychedelic paintings throughout the show. It added a multi-media aspect that made me think of Hunter S. Thompson and Ralph Steadman. At the show, they announced the release of a new Door s documentary called When You re Strange, narrated by Johnny Depp. The movie will include great footage from the vault like clips from their UCLA film school days, looking forward to that. The audience at Club Nokia for this show included a wide age range from around six to 80. The family atmosphere added to the comfort level at this wonderful venue. I forget the name of the opening band, only that the singers name was Pearl and that they played an acoustic set. Pearl belted out songs like Janis Joplin, with a scowl, and feminine rage. All in all, I truly enjoyed my time at Club Nokia for this event. Thank you.

When I purchased the tickets for this concert I wasn't so sure how good it would be. The questions are really whether Ray and Robby can still play and how to replace Jim Morrison on vocals. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised! The original members Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger are joined by vocalist Dave Brock, bassist Phil Chen and drummer Ty Dennis. Ty Dennis does a fantastic job as the anchor of the band. Remember the drummer always provides the timing! Phil Chen adds a depth that the original band may not have had on bass. The shoes of Jim Morrison are tough to fill, but Dave Brock does an excellent job. On some songs, he is spot on and on others not as much. BUT in the end ... he gets everyone into the mood, rocking and singing along. As far as Ray and Robby ... Robby can still make his guitar scream! It really doesn't sound like he has lost anything. Ray started slow on keyboards by shined in some of the songs later in the concert. They still have it ! One of the most awesome parts of this concert was the relatively small venue they played and the fact that Dave Brock invited everyone in the hall down to the stage front for a much more intimate experience. EVERYONE was dancing/swaying/rocking and singing along with Dave to all the tunes. All in all this was an excellent experience. I am only sorry that this was the last stop on the tour, otherwise I would follow them to their next venue!

This is the second time I have seen Ray and Robby et al in concert. This was one of the finest concerts I have ever attended, bar none. These guys have more talent in their fingertips than one hundred other famous artists, combined. When these guys play, there is magic in the room. They are capable of summoning up the feelings and spirits of the past and linking them to the present moment, effortlessly. Nobody plays the organ like Ray and the guitar like Robby. I am totally smitten by this band. They define rock and roll. I will follow them to the ends of the Earth!

Even if the concert were not musically memorable, it should be mandatory to go just to pay homage. Krieger wrote a great deal of the most famous Doors songs, including "Light My Fire" and "Touch Me." It is amazing that Manazarek and Krieger are still active, and not reminiscing behind closed mansion doors about the good old days. Homage aside, it was a an excellent show. Krieger is more proficient technically than in the 1960s. Some of his solos were blindingly fast and even inspired by metal. In a show like this, I am mostly looking for note-for-note reproductions, and I got them, even if some of the solos were improvised. David Brock, the singer, looked, acted, and sounded so much like Jim Morrison that the note-for-note accuracy was not affected by an unfamiliar vocal/performance style. Some think that Brock's selection as the vocalist is disrespectful to Jim Morrison, but I think that what matters is Morrison's words, because he considered himself a poet first and foremost, and just wanted his words to live on. Whether it is David Brock or someone else delivering those words, Morrison would probably be equally happy as long as his words are getting out there in front of the public again. I saw them twice in one week -- both in Atlantic City and Huntington, NY.

It was a very big happening to see Manzarek Krieger and Phil Chen(bassist for Rod Stewart Jeff Beck and the Butts Band) perform the Doors music to a tee. The singer was excellent at covering Morrison's voice and the drummer was great and densmore was not needed. Touching moment when Ray put his foot on the piano to play it. he knows he is no kid but he did it anyway. Robbie is truly one of rock's underated guitarists and put on quite a show of finger picking finger tapping using a pick and not using a pick and flamenco. Just like Jeff beck and Clapton age has not caught up with him yet!

The only way this show could have been better is if Jim Morrison showed up to play with Ray and Robbie. And, Dave Brock is almost Morrison's twin. Ray and Robbie themselves are among the greatest rock musicians ever. It was a privilege to see them again, and they did not disappoint us. If you are even the slightest fan of The Doors, see this show! If you aren't a Doors fan, see this show anyway. You may become a fan.

I saw the Doors in 1967 and again last week. Ray and Robbie were fantastic. Ty on drums (with a little help from Owen) was outstanding. Rick (Rays brother) played guitar on a few numbers and was a trip back to the pre-Doors. The show started off great and kept improving until it was incredible! David looks like Jim and is a good singer but his singing is flat. Since they already had two of Peace Frogs drummers, they should get Tony to sing. I admit he doesn't look as much like Jim but he sings and acts more like Morrison.

It was a great show from start to finish! I wish it had been a little longer... and I'm bummed they didn't play "Riders on the Storm" or "Spanish Caravan". I'm still holding out hope they'll eventually play songs off Other Voices, one of my favorite albums, which I was able to get Robby to sign after the show. Ray's brother Rick came out and played guitar on "Back Door Man" and that was a treat. Good times.

What a treat to see the main two guys after Jim who made up the Doors. And two guys who did not just "play the instruments" on the songs. They MADE the music along with Jim. They were THERE on stage playing just as they did when they were The Doors. It was a blast from the past. But the singer cannot be underestimated. He sounded just like Jim which made the picture complete. It was just as if we were watching the entire ensemble. It ROCKED and they played the main great songs including Touch Me and of course "Light my fire" for the encore. But The Music's Over" was mind blowing. The point after the buildup when "Jim" turns to the audience and screams "Yeaaaaaaaa!" I'll never forget the rush. I was shaking with emotion. I love "Strange Days." I wish they'd played People are Strange and "Sanish Caravan."

Not only great music, but they are great showmen. Had seen Dave Brock with "Wild Child" previously, he really does a good Jim Morrison.

Ray and Robby were absolutely AMAZING at the Fillmore in Detroit. The singer looked and sounded enough like Morrison to make it feel like we were back in the 60's at a Doors concert. But he didn't go overboard or look fake like he was trying to hard. If I'd have known they were going to be that good I'd have taken off work and followed them to Grand Rapids. If they ever come back to Michigan, I'm soooo there! I wish they would have played longer. I could have sat there all night.

Having been born in '81, I thought I just had to deal with the fact that I would never get to experience a Doors concert. That was all changed Wednesday night when I saw Ray, Robby & company at The Egg! I can honestly say this was one of the best shows I've ever been to! The vibe between the audience and the band was amazing. It really felt like a mutual exchange of energy! The more they played the more we wanted. If you're a Doors fan you have to get tickets to see them, you will not regret it! Hey, maybe Jim's energy will be at your show too! That's what it felt like at mine! Thanks for an Amazing night! PS- Get out of your seats if the music moves you! Trust me, you'll have a much better time, the band will love it and get even more into it! It's a win/win situation!

Overall, I had an amazing time at the Ray Manzarek and Robby Kreiger concert!!! Being a new Doors fan over the last 2 years, I love all The Doors music. It's a shame Jim and John could not attend the event, but the replacement drummer and singer were able to rock it out!! It was an amazing concert and a great memory for my friend, another Doors fan! :)

Wasn't sure if the old guys would be up to an entertaining show. Also wasn't sure if the Jim Morrison stand-in would spoil my memories. but the musicianship was top notch, the singer was great and Ray and Robbie were outstanding.

the concert was terrific. the surviving members of the doors may look like your grandfather but they played like they did when they were young, maybe better. robbie krieger's guitar work was mesmerizing. i could listen to him all night. the lead singer ,david brock, looked and sounded alot like jim morrisson. he did a wonderful interpretation of morrisson's poetry. ray manzarek's keyboard playing was as groovy as ever.

the Wilbur is great venue for live entertainment - not too big - not too small, plus it serves alcohol...not a bad seat in the house.. Ray and Robby didnt really have to do much to please the crowd, Since they created it, they reproduced the vintage Doors sound only they can do. Im sure there must have been a lot of pressure on the lead vocalist to do the same for th vocal parts, and he did a great job as a fill in for the missing Jim Morrison. \\ Looking sounding and strutting his body on the stage of Mr Mojo Risin, He could have easily stole the show from Manzarek & Krieger, but kept his cool. .

Great performance. The real Doors! Dave Brock did a good job with the music of Jim Morrison, better than their previous singer. They were up on stage for over 2 hours. Ray moved like a young man, even getting his foot onto the organ! We enjoyed it so much that we got tickets to see them again the next night in Grand Rapids and I tried to talk my husband into going to see them the following night in Chicago. They were well worth while and we have not seen them for about 5 or 6 years. Hope they come back soon. Best concerts that I have seen! Dave Brock had even more Jim Morrison moves down by Grand Rapids, and had his type shoes to boot. They did not do Riders of the Storm in Grand Rapids and did about 15-20 less time onstage.

I was amazed it was a Doors show from start to finish. A two hour show. No new songs, just some of the best music ever recorded by the Doors. Robbie was a master on lead guitar. Hearing Spanish Caravan was the highlight of the show for pure music enjoyment. Mandolin guitar by Robbie was definitely the music highlight. As for the version of LA Woman, rock and roll never sounded so sweet. The guys were great and cant wait to see then again. So glad they ended on a high note with Light My Fire and not a downer as with This Is the End. Hope the guys keep going.

Naturally Robbie was perfect on lead and Ray did all the signature key-lines I've imitated in the air all these years, but this David guy on vocals was like Jim Morrison reincarnated. He even looked like a 25 year old Morrison. He nailed all the vocals and reminded us of what a Doors show must have been like in the late 60s and early 70s. I wished the show went on longer but very impressive none the less. The bass player was great and the drummer right on too.

Surreal was the over feeling I had while hearing the music of the Doors and then almost visualizing them with the help of the striking resemblance of the lead singer to Morrison. The music was more accomplished, I am sure, as a result of having a "few" more years to refine things a little....and no one was late or unduly chemically altered, well maybe there were a few extra strength Tylenol being consumed, but if that is all it takes to get these old road warriors up and going, more power to them! Overall, the mix and sound level were appropriate. This show took me back to a time when the music on the radio stuck in your head, quite frankly because it was, and is, good music!
