The concert was very disappointing and not at all what I expected. I expected that Mr Yarrow would have something to say about today's politics, but did not anticipate that this would be the focus of the evening. Unfortunately, Mr Yarrow had other things in mind. Mr Yarrow continually lectured the group on the current politics, rather than play his music. If you are going to his concert to reminisce, save your money and play some CD's, don't go for the ;lecture. The couple of songs we did hear were great, but could not stand being lectured, and so we left. Maybe Mr Yarrow will realize that the people who came to see him have similar thoughts, and came for the music and not the lecture..

He sang many memorable songs. He had good banter with the audience. He had us sing along. I bought one of the personally autographed books for my granddaughter. He also sang my favorite song which I requested during intermission.

We had a wonderful time at this show. Several of us enjoyed singing along to fill in Mary's parts... One of us really wished that Peter & Paul would just hire a strong female vocalist to sing Mary's parts and "do justice to the songs and the harmonies." We enjoyed Seth's sign language performance as well. We had some issues with the staff of the Rialto Square Theatre, but the show itself was very good!

I enjoyed the concert very much. It was different however, to see Peter and Paul without Mary. Their selection of songs was a little different than I expected but it made the concert just as enjoyable, nonetheless. I certainly feel as though I got my money's worth.

I grew up listening to Peter, Paul and Mary played by my parents. I was very excited about taking my 6 year old son to a Peter Yarrow show. Unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed. Although it was billed as "Peter Yarrow & Friends", Peter did not perform very much. What he did perform was a lot of fun, there just should have been more of it. Also, while Peter's daughter Bethany is clearly very talented in her own right, I did not feel that her choice of material (African dancing, Native American prayer) was appropriate for a children's sing-a-long. I looked around the audience and saw that many children were bored - had his or her head on a parent's shoulder, crying, etc. We were disappointed.

I expected to see Peter Yarrow and Paul doing their old songs-instead he did two or three of his most notibale songs and had his daughter and a couple of others dominate the show. (Not to put down his daughter, Bethany-her voice is phenomenal and held every note at the end of the show-the only good part!) The setup was just "chinzy" and cheap at best and left a lot to be desired. Peter could not see the monitor many times and had to keep telling the stage person to adjust it. At times his "rambelings" were just plain rediculous! I would have prefered he be introduced-rather than to just walk on!

Peter Yarrow was wonderful. His songs are sweet, timeless, human, educational for the body and soul. He made the children laugh with his stories and his silliness. My two children, ages 3 and 5, loved him and so did we (their parents). To Peter, I would give 5 stars. To his Friends, 1 star. This was billed as a family show. His other guest, a man whose name I forget, is a musician for children. His music was fantastic and highly inventive / creative, but his lyrics went right over the children's heads and was not very engaging. Some adults liked it, but, I would give it 3 stars. 1 star goes to Peter's daughter Bethany. Her music and lyrics were not at all suitable for children. Her preachy-ness was outdated and repetitious to the point of being completely uninteresting and disengaging. She completely lost the audience, especially the children. Her opinions seemed so issue-laden, for example, telling an audience of mostly babies, 3 and 4 year olds "You don't need no man" and "You better mind". It was ridiculous. While she does have a beautiful voice, her range is limited to a cliche range of bluesy and gospel like notes which she repeats so often it sounded like she was singing the same song over and over. not to mention her "harmonies" completely overshadowed Peter's sweet, grandfatherly voice. She was dressed in skin tight jeans with pencil thin legs, and when she tried to emulate her 2 gracious african dancers, it made my skin crawl. Please, Bethany, if you are going to attempt to dance like your sisters, at least wear a skirt. She was also condescending, telling them she loves them because they are "beautiful girls". Bethany hops from one culture to the next, adopting ideals from africans and native americans, yet it is completely obvious she is a control freak and self congratulating. She brought her little daughter on stage as if she were an accessory, and uttered opinions as if they were truths. He part of the show was exhausting, I wouldn't recommend taking your children to witness her antics.

A combination of heartfelt memories, reverent and irreverent humor, and some well placed social commentary proved Peter to be the sacrosanct bard of our time. Although Mary will be sorely missed and the folk trio is no more, Peter retains his wit and wisdom. The atmosphere of the Ark was incredible. This venue, this show and this man are not to be missed.

Peter was mostly telling stories, rambling on. Not much upbeat about the evening- we left at intermission. I loved Peter, Paul and Mary but I guess I never realized how much of the humor and fun of their concerts came from Paul.

Having seen Peter, Paul and Mary four times over the years, I was anxious to see what Peter would do alone. It was like sitting at the feet of a great teacher.....while he sang many of our old favorites, he told stories of some of the places he'd been, and the causes he had stood for. He shared his experience with Mary and the time of her death. It was really amazing! That in itself would have been great, but then he invited us to meet him after the concert, get his signature, or even just a hug! What a beautiful, talented, loving man!!!

Peter Yarrow is a legend. As he says multiple times during the concert, he is the voice of our generation. Unfortunately, our generation is grey, bald, pudgy, with canes and hearing aids. In reality, the show was fun, even if Peter misses a note or two. He has so much history, and so many songs to choose from, he cannot be too far off base. We laughed , we cried, we hugged, and left feeling empty that in 45 or so years, we still do not have a nation at peace, moving towards the same communal progress that we need to last another 200 years. And it was sad to note that there were very few young faces in the crowd, who not only care about Peter but about his history and what PPM, Dylan, Baez et.al. stood for and meant to us in the 60s and 70s.

This show was great and in a very intimate setting, both from the small venue at the Ark and the things Peter had to say. The show was Peter on his own with his acoustic guitar. Peter sang many classic folk songs and encouraged others to sing along. He had many wonderful things to say about Mary, and commented that the crowd was more uplifting than other events he has sang at since her passing. Peter also talked in depth about his Operation Respect Program which tries to prevent bullying in schools. He even stayed after the show to talk and sign autographs. Overall a great performance, and I would jump at an opportunity to see him again.

I so enjoyed the concert and had looked forward to it for months. I would love to have you record a CD of the next performance for those of us who have followed the group for years. All three performers were outstanding. Over the years they have become even more enjoyable and remarkable. However, as many others, I do miss Mary very much. It was great to see younger children in the audience also enjoying the performance. My only disappointment was that the Meyerhoff was not packed. Peter and Paul always warrant a larger audience.

Not sure there is someone quite like Peter and Paul (or Mary, before her death). I grew up in the folk music protest era (50-60's) and as I listened, the lyrics brought back memories. So it was a good evening and thanks to MTV. Like all of us, we lose a bit of "this or that" as we age--so to have Peter and Paul--but not the message and not much of their special musical talent. My kids would not attend but I would, again. And I just bought a few recordings of theirs for my IPOD. They will be with me along my many roads traveled in the next few years.

I guess we re all getting older, but fortunately most of us don t know it. in some ways the concert may have reminded many of us of our brute beliefs which many of us have forgotten over the years. The most amazing part was sharing a seven-year-old little girl s birthday with her! Only through audience members like this will the values and principles of which Peter spoke and we believe can be carried on. It was a phenomenal evening all in all

This was the third time I have seen Peter in concert, but the first without any other musicians, which was the result of rescheduling from the previous date. My previous encounters with him were in Israel, when he came for his work with Operation Respect, and I also attended one of his presentations to educators and health care professionals who work with school children. He wowed us, carrying the entire program alone, and delighted us with telling stories. It felt so up close and personal, it was a real privilege to be there. He is 77 now, with amazing stamina. As we know, a dragon lasts forever, but not so little boys. However, Peter Yarrow will live on.

A lovely step back in time. The audience singing along at times seemed magical. He often involved the audience, providing words to the chorus. Peter is still pro peace and tolerance, and now has added fracking. In the first half he often shared his thoughts with the audience. His son was with him playing base on a most unusual "instrument" which was an overturned washtub with a clothes line in the middle going up to the top of a 6' pole. He wore gloves and moved his hands up and down the pole to produce the base sound. Peter had him give a brief bio of himself and also introduced his wife in the audience. This is the first time I've seen him live and didn't realize what clever humor he has. During intermission he met with audience members for photos, autographs and to collect a list of songs they would like to hear in the 2nd half. He sang some of them and for the rest, sang parts of them. His son, at times, would provide harmony. This was a most lovely evening, with most of us being in his age group and growing up with the songs of Peter, Paul and Mary. I did not know that "The Wedding Song" was written by Paul for Peter's wedding. He asked how many of us had been to a wedding where this was sung, and about 99% raised their hands.

The concert was much of what we expected: Good PP&M tunes, some traditional folk, plus his personal insights and anecdotes. Some strongly held opinions, sometimes bordering on being "preachy", but expected of a person of strong convictions and a history of speaking out. I don't think Mr. Yarrow realized that the audience was likely at least as liberal in their opinions as he is; he put "put the brakes on" a couple of times! The one negative was Peter's constant direction to the sound person regarding various levels of his voice and guitar. I appreciate that a performer wants the sound to be the best it can be, but I've never heard a performance where the sound was being "micro-managed" before and sometimes during nearly every piece.

Peter Yarrow touched hearts and encouraged us to be aware of a variety of justice issues. Just simply singing and inviting us to join in brought a sense of unity to all present, not to mention memories of days gone by. Over and above that, his commentary on a number of justice issues facing us today yielded some important awareness. Peter Yarrow is a gift to any who might have the opportunity to hear him sing and share!

When Peter Yarrow stepped on the stage it was an instant "love fest." The whole evening was a singalong with every member of the audience joining Peter in singing the words that we all knew. He brought his son Chris along to play the gut bucket. Later on he invited up on stage a local Peter, Paul and Mary tribute band who sang with him.

This was one of the most inspirational events that I have ever attended. Peter Yarrow engaged his audience. He invited some of us (the kinds under 40) to be on the stage to sing "Puff the Magic Dragon." He had us singing along throughout the concert. He signed autographs during intermission and afterwards. He asked for requests, and he sang "The Wedding Song" which I requested as did others. After the concert, he asked a number of people that were still there to sing Happy Anniversary to my husband and I who were celebrating our 35 th Wedding Anniversary that night.

I'm glad I saw this show and I enjoyed it very much. But, Mary was missed!. I understand that Mary can never be replaced, but, some of the songs performed (e.g. "Leaving on a Jet Plane") just weren't the same without Mary's part. Other songs like "500 Miles" and "Cruel War", etc) couldn't be perfored at all. I think I would have enjoyed it even more if there was some one to sing Mary's part.

What a wonderful evening! . After 50 years together (I may still have the PP&M LP "Ten Years Together"!), they are still amazing musicians -- and still staunchly committed to the pursuit of peace and equality. While Mary Travers was still living, they wrote the lyrics to Mark Wills' song "Don't Laugh at Me," which has become an anthem of the anti-bullying movement. Both Peter and Paul evoked individual and collective memories of their lifelong friend and colleague -- while letting the membbers of the audience express theirs in song. It was a great event -- and I'm glad I was lucky enough to be there. But why, oh why, did the Bergen PAC program contain no information whatsoever about thie show itself? I'm sure many of us would have treasured it as a souvenir of this remarkable event -- but the only mention of the concert was on your Calendar of Events insert stapled into the center.

One of the best concerts I've been to in a long while. Peter Yarrow really knows how to personally relate to his audience--taking requests both during the concert and at intermission and then working them all in. He is very accessible--both from the stage and in person during intermission and before and after the concert. The audience was invited to sing along with almost all his songs--a great delight! A warm, wonderful evening--I'm still humming the tunes and hearing the lyrics in my head!

Peter & Paul have a way of getting the audience to participate and create enough energy to light the auditorium. The addition of Paul and Seth adds variety to their concerts and it was enjoyable to see Peter come out after the concert. (Bob and I actually walked with him toward the table where he signed copies of his books. He held Bob's hand for a short while - a gesture of friendship,..and hurry, come along!) Bob and I have seen numerous Peter, Paul and Mary concerts and now Peter and Paul's. It was Bob's 1st concert (Washington DC - early '60's while on vacation with his parents), our first Date (December 1964), and our sons' first concert (at Ravinia). - We always enjoyed waiting after their concert to see all three of them. Peter Yarrow is intelligent, thoughtful, funny and humble. His message of peace and harmony is more relevant than ever. I agree with his views and the way he expresses them in his music. It's who he is and it flows out of him, honestly and genuinely. This wasn't just a concert performance; it was also a sing-a-long, with much audience participation. Thanks to Peter, we connected with the people seated near us. My wife was at first almost apathetic about going with me to this concert, but when she was actually there, she went into enjoyment mode. At age 79, Peter promised to perform until he can't perform anymore. Great job, Peter Yarrow. Keep going.

Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey still have it. There's no doubt about that. Their voices still resonated throughout the Pantages, their commentary, as always, humorous and genuine, and their mere presence was a welcome relief to the current political climate. While obviously not the same without having Mary Travers along for the show, she was clearly there in spirit. With the audience singing along without being prompted and "Puff, the Magic Dragon" being a highlight, this was a concert to remember for years to come. At 79, we can only assume that we may never see these great performers again, for maybe we'll get lucky a few more times. Loved it! I only wish the StarTribune would have run a review. But hell, the venue was probably a whole mile from their headquarters. Perhaps the new conservative slant with the change in ownership determined that there wasn't a reason to give these liberals any press? But thant's okay because the 1,000+ packed house of fans will be spreading the word just fine.

Two-thirds of the legendary folk-rock trio Peter, Paul and Mary (Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey) performed for a near capacity crowd in Thousand Oaks. Mary Travers was the third member and she died in 2009. The group came out of the New York folk rock scene of the 1960s. They went on to have major chart hits, and sell out concert tours for years to come. Growing up I heard a lot of PPM s music. My Mom was a huge fan of theirs. She used to play their music on albums, cassettes and then CDs. Plus she would sing and play the songs on guitar also. So when I saw that the two remaining members of the group where going on tour, I knew I had to be there to honor my mother s memory (My Mom died on October 25, 2016). The show was just the 2 guys and their guitars. Plus they added some tambourine to some songs also. They sang songs from their long career: Puff the Magic Dragon, Leavin on a Jet Plane, Where Have All the Flowers Gone, If I Had a Hammer, Blowin in the Wind and This Land is Your Land. It was a group sing-along for the big hits. As those were songs that everyone there seemed to know and love. I love the fact that the group is still socially conscious. After all, this is the group that was at the March on Washington in 1963 w/ Martin Luther King. They protested the Vietnam War and for immigrant rights. They sang a song called Don t Laugh at Me which Peter Yarrow has successfully placed in 20,000 schools. It is a song about tolerance, acceptance, and an end to bullying in schools. It includes references to different races, religions, disabilities and LGBT people too. The two guys (Peter and Noel) each took turns performing solo material in the 2nd half of the concert. Noel (aka Paul) sang a song slamming President Trump called Impeachable to the tune of Nat King Cole s \u2018Unforgettable. It went over very well with the crowd. Peter also sang against the current administration in his solo segment. His crusade was against what he sees as a bully in chief. Noel s voice is holding up better than Peter s voice. But I appreciate the passion that they put into their performance. They had some witty repartee between them as they have had over the years during their concerts. I saw them as a trio a number of times with my parents. I did get teary eyed a few times during the night. But I was happy that I could be there and to share it with my husband. I know my Mom was there in spirit. Thanks to Peter and Paul for sharing their artistry and their message of social justice with the crowd. I loved the fact that when we were leaving the parking garage a group of young people (in their 20 s) got out of their car and were dancing to If I Had a Hammer. It gives me hope about the future.

Should have expected such from two old hippies, but SICK TO DEATH of "entertainers" forcing their political views upon a paying audience.

Great show in a great venue. We miss Mary so much, but so do they. They are as relevant today as they have always been. Both excellent artists in their own right, and what a treat to hear them together. Seems like old times.

They are more relevant than ever, angrier than ever, and while Mary's voice and presence are palpably missed, they sound as wonderful as ever. They mixed songs of protest and outrage with a generous helping of the songs that have become part of the fabric of our lives. The show was about 21/2 hours; I could have watched for 3 more. I drove from L.A. in a virtual monsoon and it was worth every horrifying freeway moment.

The music was great and brought back many old memories and certainly stirred some feelings. The only negative was the performers need to express their political feelings beyond the content of the music to the point where I felt I was being preached to. I do not attend concerts to be told how to think or believe. They have their right to their opinion and express it very will within the confines of their music and that is sufficient.

The night with Peter and Noel Paul was a dream come true. I saw Peter several years ago in Arroyo Grande, CA and said I wished they would tour together again. It would be sad without Mary, but still wished to see them together. And now, it happened! Thank you for a fabulous evening with what seemed like old friends.

I grew up with Peter, Paul & Mary and like many others in attendance, I was looking forward to an evening of nostalgia, hearing so many of the songs I enjoyed years ago. Unfortunately, we heard very few of their original songs and for me that was a major disappointment. The demographic of the audience was predominately older folks in their 60's, 70's and 80's and I heard MANY of them voice disappointment afterwards as well. I've seen Peter, Paul & Mary in concert a number of times in the past and I will continue to enjoy my Peter, Paul & Mary CDs but if given the opportunity to see Peter and Paul together again, I'll pass. As I said, for me it was a major disappointment.

It was wonderful hearing Peter and Paul again with their harmonious voices singing songs for humanity and good ethics. It was sad missing Mary, but they had the audience sing in place of Mary.

Peter and Paul gave a terrific performance that was both fun and uplifting- and, Mary's spirit was instilled in every moment.

Peter and Paul were both reminiscent and relevant as they sang songs from our past as well as some new songs for today . My favorite new song is entitled Impeachable.

Two legends of American folk, performing some iconic music, recognising the sadness that the third of their trio is no longer with us.

Magical would barely do this concert justice. I have been a loyal PP&M fan since I was a teenager and my appreciation for this group has never wavered. While it is sad to see Peter and Paul without Mary, you can't help but hear her voice still echoing in the concert hall. This is the second time I have seen Peter and Paul by themselves and it was pure joy both times. The voices, the enthusiasm and the love are still part of this eternal group. Let the light of love be with them everyday.

We came to the Peter and Paul concert with great expectations of an evening of nostalgia, sing along and entertainment. Instead we got political activism, a liberal agenda and unfamiliar music, how disappointing. The last fifteen minutes were the best , clearly enjoyed by all in the audience. Too bad the rest of the performance was not the same. We agreed with the message but were turned off by the venue.

I was flabbergasted by Peter Yarrow's performance. First let me say, if you attend one of his concerts, be prepared for more than just great songs. Yarrow was extremely funny! I didn't expect to be entertained in the manner that we were. I've been to other events where a singer will talk and joke, but Peter was more than that, it was like we were all sitting in his living room and enjoying a great evening of singing and telling stories. He encouraged audience participation. Some artist I've seen just seem to want to perform and hear an occasional response from the audience, Peter flat out encouraged us to be a part of his performance. How many artist do you know invite the entire audience up on stage to sing with him? There was a little girl, Margaret who turned 7 that day, he interacted with her the whole night, it was heart warming. It was also great for him to explain some of the songs origins and the history behind Peter, Paul and Mary.

Excellent show. Audience participation is its strongest point. The message was sweet if a bit idealistic.
