I am a big Brooks & Dunn fan so it was with a bit of trepidation that I attended a concert with just Kix Brooks. What a wonderful evening. Kix was always smiling and enthusiastic and interacted with the crowd several times. He sang some songs on his new solo album, "New To This Town" as well as many Brooks & Dunn songs. Two of his band mates also performed solos. Kix played and sang for about 90 minutes and came back and did a three song encore. It is always a joy to watch an artist who really loves doing what he is doing perform live, and Kix is definitely one of those people.

As a big fan of Brooks & Dunn, I wasn't sure how the act would hold up with half of the duo missing. I did miss Ronnie's voice in some of the songs; however, Kix did a wonderful job with the singing, and interacting with the audience. He was also great with his band, and allowed three of the band members to each lead a song. And they were fantastic, as were all the members of the band.

Was not sure what to expect.... Missed the elaborate firework displays and big stage action of "B and D", but would go and see him again. Loved the interaction of the band together with Kix Brooks!

Well, now we know who had the vocal talent in B&D (hint, he ain't named after a breakfast cereal). Raspy and burned out, with a range of about 3 notes. Tried to mask it by "blues-ing up" the few signature Brooks and Dunn tunes. The new stuff, while lyrically engaging, sounded like they were sung by a toothless grandma with a 4 pack a day unfiltered habit!

Wow, what can I say? With the song writing talent of Kix Brooks and a phenomenal band to back him up the show was something I was not prepared for. From a "One way out" cover of the Allman Brothers to a great cover of "An American Girl" by Tom Petty the band just took us on a musical ride that we never wanted to end. The attendance was not large and anyone who missed this " Event" missed a great one! I admit to not being a country fan at all and seeing this show only to take my country fan girl friend I have to say I would absolutely go and see Kix and the guys again! They came out for a two song encore. I never saw this great night coming, Awesome!

I went with my wife to the Kix Brooks concert at the Paragon Casino. He was so entertaining and treated his fans with such respect and wanted us to have a great time. I liked his band which were almost all from Louisiana.

Unfortunately, the sound acoustics in the auma tent aren't the best and the seats are the cheap plastic ones - very uncomfortable... I won'r be back until they upgrade, sorry.

What a great show and an awesome performer. Kix was high energy, fun, told stories, sang old B&D songs, new material and did some great covers. He let the band shine - and they were excellent musicians as well as singers. It was close to two hours long and enjoyable the whole time. They rocked the house for sure!! What a great night!!

Sat middle center expecting the sound to be good straight through to sound board/mixer. The instruments came through fine , but not the vocals. Had to strain to get any words from newer songs.

It was an upclose and personal experience seeing this concert at the Pauma Casino. Crowd was sparse (less than 300) but that did not keep Kix and his band from putting on a highly entertaining show. The setlist was a great mix of old and new songs. One of the highlights of the evening was when he sang Red Dirt Road, a B&D song that Dunn sings lead on the album. Kix's version was toned down a bit but much more soulful and heartfelt than the orginial. The band consisted of musicians who have been part of Delbert McClinton's band, Allman Bros and Miranda Lambert. It was a world class show and definately one my wife and I will not forget. Thanks Kix!

I thought it was the Duo Brooks And Dunn and it was too cold in the tent. It was okay seats were metal and cold uncomfortable.

Kix Brooks rocks! He is a high octane performer who is obviously a major star in the country music industry. I would absolutely buy tickets to see him perform again, just not at the Island View Casino. He has high energy throughout his show and is a lot of fun to watch and listen to. My problem is with the Island View Casino. Our seats were on a walkway near an entrance/exit and people were continually walking back and forth in front of us causing a major distraction from the show. The show was great, the location was terrible! We are very disappointed and intend to talk with the Island View Management.

wonderful fundraiser event ...so proud that Kix Brooks would headline this show for such a worthy cause. The only problem i found was that the music of the lead in act over powered the voice and the words to the songs were hard to understand. No problem with the set up of the Kix Brooks band.

Kix Brooks is an awesome muscian and all around great guy - very friendly and personal with the audience. Of course we missed his sidekick (Ronnie Dunn) but Kix does a great job on his own. We upgraded from the Cocktail Table section (even though there was number on your ticket, the seating was not assigned) to the tables right in front of the stage which made the event much more enjoyable. Mount Palomar Winery is a beautiful property but set up more for weddings than a concert. Very difficult to see anything from the back as it is a flat patio from front to back and stage was only elevated about 3 feet. There are many pillars and trees in the way as well. They need to make some adjustments to the way they sell food/drink as it was a big bottleneck.

Venue was a nice place very close up, comfortable place to see a concert. Shortys Bistro left a lot to be desired, food was good, once you got it, took way too long to get it. Wine was good. I would go back for sure. Randy Houser was fantastic, i would go see him again for sure also.

Where to begin, Kix has always been my favorite half of Brooks & Dunn and now that they are solo artists I get to enjoy watching and listening to him for the entire concert. He can do it all, rock with the best of them and grab your heart with the emotions he puts into the slow, soulful sad songs. He has brought back several members of the B&D band and added a few new members and they all reach out to the audience and you can't help but respond by clapping, screaming, stomping and singing along with them. It's like an energy fueled roller coaster you never want it to end. If you pass up the opportunity to attend one of his concerts then you have passed up one amazing and entertaining event. I drove for hours to attend his concerts and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Kix Brooks was wonderful. Always the complete entertainer and it is obvious he enjoys himself. His band, etc was great. I have ordered his new CD and look forward to seeing him in the future. Also, I have plans to visit Arrington Winery in Tennessee which he co-owns. His past 20 years in the entertainment industry have been great and I look forward to seeing future shows. KC

It is a level B club , small audience area, maybe 400 showed. Kix could have phoned it in, but he put on a great ,high energy show. Showed class and the true professional that he is.

Kix did a great job and I really enjoyed getting to see this solo side of him, however, it was just different seeing him by himself. I LOVED that is was all of my favorite things about 8 Seconds Saloon, but that it was a smaller crowd sized making it very intimate and enjoyable!!
