What a thrill to see Paul Shaffer and the World's Most Damgerous Band! They rocked the house to the ground! It was great to see Valerie Simpson too! The classic songs they sang and played were the soundtrack of my life, even though some of those songs came out before I was born! Great evening! Wish thru played for 3 hours!

Paul pulled together some amazing musicians. Worth seeing just for that, but in a small setting, this type of show makes memories. Thanks for the night of fun and music Paul!

Old Vegas style show with lots of celebrity guests. 2 hours long seemed like 30 minutes.

Paul Shaffer is an icon, and a both a brilliant bandleader and musician. He is put together an extraordinary group of local Vegas musicians, each a genius in their own right. This is a must see!

Paul is touring with a fantastic group of musicians. Sadly he has turned this into a show about himself instead of just settling back and playing great music. The intro is a couple of videos - about Paul - then a song by the band - then a LONG monologue from Paul. Paul is a nice guy, but he was a sidekick, not a headliner comedian. We came for the music. The songs played through the first half require some knowledge of older music such as James Brown. Paul also reminds you he is selling a new CD, then a couple of songs, then intermission after 50 minutes. Huh? The show lacked pacing and excitement, felt like a bad Bill Murray lounge act. The musical talent onstage was outstanding. Sadly this venue has very average sound with little bass or live feeling. I really wanted to love this show. It was a dud.

It was a fun concert, however the person at the sound machine could have made it better. First, the band overwhelmed Paul's voice, his female singer (?name), with a great voice, sounded real screamy and I think she could have been dialed back a bit. She may be in competition with the band. Valerie Simpson sounded fabulous, just real relaxed and lovely. Paul is quite a showman. The band is very good. I would say, the second half was better than the first, as less talking and the music more familiar. I would suggest better songs in the first half.

I enjoyed this the most of any concert I've ever attended. After seeing them play during a taping of Letterman, I vowed I would get tickets if they ever went on tour. The show was fast paced and energy filled. It was obvious that James Brown was Paul's idol and the James Brown medley was the highlight of the show for me. The concert was amazing!

The percussionist was overbearing and overpowered the rest of the band musically. Paul's dialog was outstanding.

My biggest disappointment was that they didn't play the theme from David Letterman Show. Second was that there was a little too much talking and not enough music. Also, tribute medley's for Michael Jackson and others were not what I was looking for. I wanted to hear the kick butt music they played during the commercials on David Letterman. I realize that Paul's career is much bigger than just what he did on the show. But for the brief 2 hour show including a 20 minute break in the middle, I wanted more music. The energy of the show never got there until the finale of Blue's Brother's "Soul Man." Great musicians, but more like "Paul Shaffer," this is your life tour.

When a band like Paul Shaffer's comes to Music City it's special. A lot of us here play in bands. But The World's Most Dangerous Band is more than your typical band. It's a group of amazing musicians, any one of which, I would pay to see individually. Put them together with Paul at the helm and it's a powerful evening of blues, R&B, rock, and, even hilarious shout-outs to James Brown. Being a bass player I've got to throw in here what a treat it was to finally see one of my all time favorite bass players, Will Lee, perform live. The guy is simply amazing. I might add when an group like this comes to Music City, especially at the Ryman, the the musicians come out. Sitting in the audience with us, among many others, was Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals and Joe Bonamassa. Highly recommend this show!

I always liked Paul Shaffer and his band when on Letterman, but then they were a back up band to some famous singer each night. The show on 5/4/17 was a great dissapointed to me and showed that he and his band are not a headline act. When his guest singer, Valerie Simpson, sang, she was very good and I never realized how many hit songs she and her late husband wrote for other famous singers. After she left, they went into a medly of Michael Jackson songs sung by his female guitarist which just dragged . We actually left the show that may have had another hour to it and we were not alone. Paul Shaffer is a very talented artist and the band is good, just not an act as a headliner.

I wanted R&B, funk, soul, and killer horns and got it all! I was concerned that he might do a lot of music from his album, which I was not familiar with, but he did not. There were tributes to James Brown and Michael Jackson and even a couple of Blues Brothers classics. The band killed it, especially Felicia Collins on vocals (and guitar). Guest Valerie Simpson was terrific too.

Excellent evening of music that included guest Denny Laine (Go Now) and Valerie Simpson (I'm Every Woman, Solid (Like A Rock). Paul knows his music (a virtual jukebox) and the band is always a pleasure to listen to. Only thing disappointing was the sparse crowd on a Saturday night, where was everyone?
