Uncle Kracker

Uncle Kracker may have gotten his start on the turntables mixing rap and rock, but on his phenomenally popular album Follow Me, and the music that's followed, audiences have heard a softer, gentler sound. His 2009 hit single, “Smile,” debuted at No. 57 on the charts and was quickly embraced by country music fans. To top it off, he’s collaborated on songs and played concerts with country star Kenny Chesney on numerous occasions.

Ho-Chunk casino sucks. The security people would not let anyone stand up and dance. If you stood up to dance a little they immediately came and told you to get down. Took the energy right out of the crowd. They were sitting there like church. It's a concert people. Let us have some fun. Uncle Kracker was great. I'd see him again. He made several comments during the concert about the security issue. Why would an artist that wants to have fun while they work ever play here? I hope he knows it wasn't a deadbeat crowd and Ho-Chunk made it that way.

Originally bought these tickets for this show to see Rehab - an awesome band with great vocals from "BOONE", rapping and rockin! Thought they're sound system was a little too much though. Most songs were very hard to make out if you didn't know the words - thank god I did, otherwise would have been overwhelmed by the incredibly loud amps! Still a good set list and performance with good energy; and would see them again. However, when Cracker took the stage, they still had the edge but you could actually hear the music. And these guys can play! What really made the show though was when Cracker and his guitarist came out with stools for an acoustic encore consisting of about 3-4 songs. That was killer. Cracker really made you feel that he appreciated you coming out to buy a ticket and attending his show. I am definetly a fan now of Cracker and would go see his band again. Hope to hear some more good throw backs soon!

Rehab was great until they started to rap. They has good stage presence, good sound and beat. But once the head guy started to rap we could not understand his lyrics. Uncle Kracker on the other hand was bomb throughout. He played his major hits, which everyone loves and then did the Gambler cover by Kenny Rodgers, the All Summer Long cover by the legend Kid Rock, and What I got From Sublime. The song about the letters to his daughters was awesome, and the rest were great as well. I would see Uncle Kracker again, and I will for sure be returning to Norther Lights! I was super surprised the place wasn't more packed.

If you are a fan of either band you know what i am talking about!!! IF they are coming to your area go see them... they are fun and entertaining all night long... i love bands who have made it BIG and still prefer to ROCK OUT in smaller venues... they remind me of the good old days!!!

I'll be honest Rehab's bartender song was about all I knew about him, and his band was some pretty hard rock other than that which was great. They closed their set with the bartender song and that was great. Uncle Kracker played "Follow Me" in the middle of the set and rocked out on some of his own hits and covers too. His version of the Gambler was great!

I got there about 9pm. So I missed a few of the artists. But the rest was great. It was my 30th birthday party and it did not get much better. It was my husband and me and our friends. The artists performed wonderfully.

I enjoyed the fact , that I got to listen to some great music for a wonderful price! Did expect to see more people out there. Also , I think there should have been a area for seating if someone wanted to sit for a while. Overall, though I thought it was ok.

Kracker saved the night and should have been the headliner. He energized the crowd and had the place rockin. A couple one hit wonders and an IDOL were good fillers leading up to Uncle Kracker. Cobra Starship was alot like Weird Al meets Revenge of the Nerds and is a testiment that a catchy tune can get anyone air time. Collective Soul has seen better days and was not headliner material. IYAZ provided a nice break and I thought had the 2nd strongest performance of the night. I look for him to continue to do big things. Over all it was a pleasant night, however the bulk of the music could have been better. If charity hadn't been the overall goal I would have been very upset.

The overall event was good, but Uncle Kracker sang too long. If he was going to sing 7 or 8 songs, he should have gone closer to the end of the night. I enjoyed the shorter acts at the beginning, but Cobra Starship should have at least been allowed to sing as many songs as Uncle Kracker since they followed him in the line-up. They are a big name group and needed more stage time.

the headliners didn't play that long, it took them more time to set up than we actually got to hear from cobra starship or collective soul.

Uncle Kracker's performance at Pierre's was truly unforgettable. I do not go to many live performances of music artists but when I do it so often ends with such comments as "it wasn't their best" or "their cd was better." Definitely not in this case. Uncle Kracker is a true performer. You can tell he loves what he is doing. His voice was unwavering and solid. He seems to be so natural and comfortable on stage. It's as if he would perform whether anyone was listening or not just simply because he wanted to...

This was a cool show to see as my first concert. Ty stone as an opening act was pretty cool, but ty stone played longer than uncle kracker. Uncle Kracker played for an hour. I suppose that it was a pretty good concert i just didnt feel like it was worth 2 hours to drive to see him for an hour? if he was closer then maybe i would see him, but not that far away again.

Uncle Kracker played a great show---in a high school gym! That is what the concert venue at Ho Chunk in Baraboo is like; the arm pit of Wisconsin. Why oh Why his agent chose this vs The Barrymore or The Majestic in Madison or The Rave, Shank Hall or Potowatami Casino in Milwaukee is beyond me. Even his most popular hits--no one knew them so alot of comped '$3' tickets to gamblers. Such a shame. (And I'm no Stranger to Shame.) Uncle Kracker, 'You Don't Belong Here!!' Three stars as venue is a -10 and show was a great one, though no encore.

With such a small intimate show every seat was good. The energy was amazing. I loved the songs he played. The only negative I have was bc the venue was small and all seated the people behind us were terrible and talked the whole time I don't think they knew any song but follow me. And when reported to security they gave them a warning and that only made it worse. But aside from rude people the show itself was great!!

Never heard of Hard Target. But they almost stole the show. Great stage presence. The LACS were awesome as always. Fun band! Down to earth guys who know how to have fun with the fans. Great lyrics that the working class can associate with. Don't change Clay and Brian. We love you guys. Uncle Kracker was okay. But Hard Target and The LACS have better stage presence and know how to have fun.

Saw Uncle Kracker as part of the Under the Sun tour. His eyes were bloodshot and half closed. He looked and sounded like crap. Maybe he was hitting the bottle before his performance. Apparently most of the crowd was disappointed too as many were leaving the venue, as did I. He was the last act of the four. Normally the last act is the "Headliner" Poor choice here. Sugar Ray was amazing. So much energy and charisma. Mark McGrath is 47 yrs old, but you would think his was in his early 30's with the way he moved around the stage. He was very gracious to the crowd, who were all on their feet the entire time. Sugar Ray should have been the headliner on this one and left Uncle Kracker in his trailer.

I have seen Uncle Kracker several times in the last few years. I was excited this time because I got a seat on row 1 which I have not been able to get in the past. His concerts are normally standing room up front. I assumed I would be able to enjoy my favorite artist from a great seat because this was a different venue and not standing only in the front. I enjoyed about 45 minutes then the people came! I had a drink spilled on me - ok no biggie. I had to leave when people started stepping on my feet. I was so very disappointed. I love Uncle Kracker's music. I believe he is a great talent and I actually had "meet and greet" with him on 3 occasions. He was very gracious and just down to earth. I know he is on a new label and I am looking forward to more music but I will not be seeing him in concert again.

I absolutely LOVED this show! Ty Stone and The Truth rocked the house with songs like, "Downriver" and "Bob Seger". Ty is an amazing singer, songwriter and performer and the nicest person you'd ever want to meet. You will walk away dying to know where you can get his new CD, (which will be released this coming spring!!!) Ty's band, "The Truth" will blow your mind - each member a fantastic musician in his own right. I had the pleasure of hanging out with them after the show and they are great people, as well. Ty Stone and The Truth made a TON of new fans in Grand Rapids, MI. Thank you for a great show, thanks for the t-shirt, and please come back to soon! As always, Uncle Kracker was FANTAASTIC! He had everyone singing along in no time and played a great mix of old and new songs from "Follow Me" to "Smile". He sounded great, his band was awesome and Kevin Wilson played the BEST guitar solo I've seen in a long time!!! He was animated, as always, with his funny stories and it was so sweet to hear him play the song he wrote for his wife, Melanie, "Memphis Soul." Melanie was in the house for the show, and is as sweet as the song:) I had the honor of hanging out backstage with friends and family, and had the best time ever! These are amazingly kind and gracious people. They seem like friends you've known forever~The kind that keep you coming back for more. Grand Rapids loves you - Please come back soon!

I have to say I was impressed with the show at the Intersection Friday night. I had heard Brian Lorente and the Usual Suspects play before and they are a good band. Uncle Kracker was amazing. So much healthier and more energetic than when I saw him a few years ago. The venue was a disappointment, though. The casino security wouldn't allow anyone to stand during the performance, and the seats were placed so close together, it was uncomfortable to sit through the performance.

Ty Stone - Never heard of him but amazingly powerful voice! Played acoustic and was awesome! His guitar looked like it was worn to the bone! Sonia Leigh - Soulful and raspy voice! She was wearing black Chuck Taylor's and no vest - I believe a comment about her attire was mentioned in a prior comment at the same venue I attended. I had front row center seats and she was definitely dressed like a rocker chic - not so much country. She handed me a guitar pick. She was great! Uncle Kracker - For some reason, I thought he played guitar too, but he only sang. His eyes were closed quite a bit, and he put out his hand a few times for the fans. He seemed to really enjoy the atmosphere though, which made it more enjoyable.

This was such a fun venue to see a show at. Prior to the show they had line dancing and drunken mechanical bull riding. It was a great way to spend a Friday evening. The first opener was Ty Stone, who saw the release of his debut album earlier that week. He came on stage to a crowd that did not know him nor the power of his voice. They soon learned. Ty started with Blessed St. Anthony", which is basically a very personal prayer that let's us know where Ty Stone is from and that he comes in peace. I feel as though much of the crowd missed the subtlety in that but Ty turned the tables and let the audience sing a tune that they know and broke out the best rendition I have ever heard of The Georgia Satellites "Keep Your hands To Yourself", which is remarkable for one man with an acoustic guitar. As the audience warmed up, Ty did a magnificent job of drawing us in through sharing the real-life stories of his songs "Down River", "Anywhere's Better" and, the title cut from his album, "American Style". We were also treated to a tune that isn't on his album, which Ty called "The Battle". The songs that Ty Stone writes makes me feel as though they are from the point of view of somebody in my family and that is gonna keep me seeking him out for a long, long time. The second opener was Sonia Leigh and her band. Sonia has been heralded by Zac Brown as Georgia's outlaw daughter. I find fault with this assessment only because the term outlaw conjures images of someone with a "too cool to care" attitude. Sonia may have looked the part with her black cowboy boots, vest and Levi Lowrey t-shirt, taking the stage to the Rolling Stones tune "Sympathy For The Devil" but her songs outted her poet's heart. The first tune was "Ain't Dead Yet" which parallels the dichotomy of the badass/poet but in this case it contrasts hard, concrete truths about life and love with sentimental abstracts about missing people and not wanting people to miss out on all the hope and potential that their lives may hold. Sonia's band is a collection of very talented musicians that inject their own personality into the songs and it is easy to see that they were having fun up on stage. I find Sonia to be a mesmerizing performer, and I wish that I would have seen her earlier on in her career. Her set consisted of many of the tunes from her Southern Ground Records album "1978 December" with some notable moments being the songs "I Just Might" and "Virginia", both of which I can totally relate to, but seeing the way that Sonia is able to share such personal feelings with a crowd is simply awe-inspiring. Sonia's set also included her releases "Bar" and "My Name Is Money", which rocked the house. The show sounded great, from Sonia's powerful voice to the blazing guitar and pulsating rhythm section. Uncle Kracker's set was impressive as well. He hit the stage and played all the fan favorites and did a few other tunes that weren't his and executed them really well. The whole experience was so good that I called my buddy up and began the prices of finding tickets for the sold-out show the next night in Ohio and caught the next stop on the tour the next night. I have tickets to catch the tour in Myrtle Beach, SC and am thinking about Nashville, TN. If you get a chance to see this show, do not pass it up.

I had my Uncle Kracker tickets for 2 months and was looking forward to going to his show, too bad I was very disappointed. He is so bad with his audience, he wont make any eye contact, he will barely touch any of the fans when they put their hands out to him, If you try to give him anything at all he will totally ignore you! I touched the trunk of his body and rubbed his forearm because it was the area I could reach from the stage and he told the audience I was creepy! My husband heard him say that, If I had heard that I would have left right then. He is not a gracious performer, it's not like stars need to do anything outlandish with the fans but, he has a rude stage presence and I will never go and see him ever again!

He was great! Played all my favorites! Amazing voice and adorable dance moves! Covered good songs too - including Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown! Has a great stage presence. Was VERY Professional in the way he handled ( ignored ) a couple of old cougers in the front row who were trying very hard to get his attension - and he waved to a woman in a wheel chair up in front - very nice. Showed real class.

I know many of you have never heard of Sonia Leigh. I am here to tell you, she will blow you away with her gritty soulful lyrics and songwriging capabilities. In my opinion, she should have been the headline act. I will never miss a Sonia Leigh show.

The show started out with Ty Stone who was a new name to me but won't be one I forget soon - the man's voice is amazing and he was worth the price of admission on his own. Next up was Sonia Leigh, also a new name for me, she was a talented musician and reminded me of country-rock version of Joan Jett. Not someone I would normally listen to but she put on an energetic and fun show. Uncle Kracker was bad-a$$! I know he had just played Detroit the night before and he looked a little tired at first but he dug deep and found the energy to give us a great show. He is one of those musicians that sound even better in person, really outgoing and involved with the audience. We were so close we got to touch him! The only down side was the club itself, it was general admission with no seating so we had to stand for four hours - not just stand but hold your ground! We linked elbows with a few neighbors to prevent getting crushed or pushed aside.

I've been to four concerts during the first 3 months of 2012 and Uncle Kracker was by far the best I've been to this year! Van Halen, Peter Frampton, and Kenny Loggins were all excellent but Uncle Kracker stood out with his enthusiasm and the obvious joy he had performing. He sang a variety of old and new hits. He also did covers of All Summer Long by by Kid Rock and Sunspot Baby by Bob Seger. He played for two solid hours. Opening acts Sonia Leigh and Ty Stone sounded great as well. I definitely recommend seeing Uncle Kracker live.
