The whole event brought back many wonder memories from my younger days, BUT the drone flying around was noisy and distracting. Shame on you for allowing it.

What a fantastic night of music from all of my favorite island artist from back in the day. The shell was rocking just like it did 40 years ago. The night was warm with aloha and crisp and clear as we went back in the day at the foot of Diamond Head. Classic and Epic, Thanks Kapono!

Superb. took us back to when we were teenager's no worries or care's.... Miss those times in our lives when it was much simpler

What a sweet venue, the Waikiki shell. And the performers were so good. Henry Kapono was at his finest. And Cazimero-what a charismatic presence. Had the feeling I was in the company of great legends.

This was a great concert! We loved every minute of the concert! So many talented people all in one concert! Back in the Day was amazing & made me feel so good! I wish it were recorded. I would easily purchase it , or even better a DVD that I could watch over & over!

The concert exceeded my expectations. Henry is a great artist, writer and entertainer. All the band members from the drummer to percussionist, to bass guitarist are extremely talented! They blew the roof off with Black Magic Woman! Henry's voice is as clear and strong as ever. I enjoyed the variety of the old and new songs. I am so glad I went and brought my 25 year old daughter who also loved the concert. Thank you.

Although I've been a huge C & K fan through the years, this was the first time I've seen Henry as a solo artist. I totally enjoyed the show and have grown to appreciate Henry Kapono as an artist even more! His voice continues to be a gift and I totally enjoyed the diversity of his set from Hawaiian to reggae. I was thrilled he threw in a few of the C & K tunes too. His band was great and the energy was dynamic. I can't wait to see him again over in the islands or back in Sacramento!!!

Kapono and opening acts were great. They did a great job.

Concert started at 6:30 pm and went to 10:10 without any breaks. The best show of local performers. What great collaboration and reminded me of old kanakapila times when everyone would just jam.

This was the best hawaiian music concert I've seen in the 35 years I have been going to the shell. Every one of the performers were at the top of their game. I really liked how all the different artists performed by themselves and then together in different combinations doing each other's music - Kapono and John Cruz, Ledward and Mike Kaaawa, etc. Loved Jerry Sanntos, Brother Nolan - every single artist was excellent. Kalapana blew everyone away with not only their beautiful hawaiian music, but with their jammin' sax player they turned into Tower of Power for a song! Not only was the sound system great, but they had up a big screen so you could watch everyone up close and personal. What a vibe - what an awesome show! I sure hope they do it again next year.

Kudos to Henry Kapono for putting on such an epic concert. It truely brought me "back in the Day". So much talent together for one event. Thanks !

This concert was wonderful - impressive talent, well organized and a great cause! The people there enjoyed a solid 3.5 hours of first-rate entertainment.

Sad to see some of these legends of Hawaiian music aging, making it special to see them while we can. Some performances were spectacular, i.e. Brother Nolan, Kapono and others tight and tasty version of Bye Bye Pua Lane.

I was so HAPPY to be a part of this great event! Not only to see the great performers & hear the awesome music but to feel so good about helping with the MAKING A WISH FOUNDATION! We have lost so many great talented performers here that we need to cherish & enjoy all that we still have & support all of them however we can. It is music that takes you back to exactly where you were or what you were doing when you hear a certain song. That night did just that! I would definately HANA HOU this event again! Talk about a star studded event for Hawaiian musicians. It brought back so many memories of how great music from Hawaii was in the 70's, 80's and 90's. But it also brought back sad memories of those that were lost. Mahalo to Henry Kapono and all the musicians that participated in such a worthy cause. It was a real treat to be there! Are there any plans to put out a DVD or CD of the event?

My siblings and our spouses went to the Back in the Day concert at the Waikiki Shell and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Henry Kapono was able to share his songs and share the music of so many other great talents we have here in Hawaii. We've attended many concerts in the past, but really enjoyed the format of this concert. Best my far! Thank you Henry Kapono for sharing your music and the music of others with us. Also to top it off, some of the proceeds went to a great cause...Make a Wish foundation! Exceptional!!! We are already looking forward to the next great concert. Thank you

Wonderful Wonderful..Loved the music. Loved observing friends interact and respond to one another on stage. Missed seeing Willy K and no mention of why he was a no-show. Am visiting family and got of whole heap of my favorite island musicians in one event. It was lovely. thank you for doing this (all of you..) and thanks for your generosity for a non-profit in need.

This was a show not-to-miss. There were so many great Hawaiian entertainers, that they could have played all night. As it was they played continuously for 3.5 hours. One of the best shows I have ever see,

Loved listening to music from back in the day. Great that Henry brought in young ones like Raiatea Helm to sing one of his songs as well as Cyril with his two musicians on steel and uke. Kalapana rocked and Cazimero's voice was like a god! Must support our local island musicians.

This concert was the bomb! 3 1/2 hours of the best Hawaii has to offer doing their own hits as well as one-time collaborations with the other artists. Special kudos to the sound and stage crew for excellent sound and for allowing this program to proceed with no breaks. The staging and the program were planned well and executed to perfection.

We enjoyed every artist! Henry did a wonderful job in assigning the song program to each artist to fit their genre. Robert Caz in the end was fabulous!

The show was amazing! I heard the program was backed up so some performers couldn't go on and thats probaboy why Kalapana only played 3 songs. They should start this earleir cause we all know once it's 10pm, because of the law, the concert is over! IWe even brought our cousin from Colorado who grew up here and he just loved it. This was a great night of "back in the day" entertainment that we really enjoyed! Great job!!!!

A concert at the Shell is always a treat - but to be entertained for almost 4 hours non stop by some of the greatest names in Hawaiian Music was simply unbelievable. Henry Kapono has always been one of our favorites - in fact we were married to C &K Music. His solos were incredible - such a terrific voice! But then his duets with others and the solos by others simply made the night magical. There were times we had tears in our eyes. There wasn't one "down moment" the whole evening - thank you Kapono and friends! ps. Side note\u2026the last time we were at the shell there were great food venders lining the sides with Poke and other sumptuous dishes\u2026however this time - no food vendors - only the concession and the food was HORRIBLE. To not even be able to get a Teriyaki Chicken Plate that was decent is a crime. (canned corn and dried chicken)? UGH I think you can do better\u2026bring back the individual vendors PLEASE.

Seeing legends on stage from the 1970's Hawaiian renaissance was truly amazing! Kapono always has it going on and his line--up was rather impressive. The only drawback was a small group of extremely intoxicated local girls that just could not control themselves. They were loud and obnoxious, getting into fights, and they even threw a beer at a tourist chick, but I got hit and don't drink so it was rather unpleasant. Why people have to act like that at such a mellow scene, with such beautiful and memory provoking music is beyond me,.

It was a wonderful positive concert with most of the very best contemporary Hawaiian musicians in Hawaii. I have enjoyed all of this music throughout the years and appreciate that we are all getting older and better. This was a concert for a more mature audience, but also held great interest for younger audience. My only complaint was the laser like lights that flashed all over the audience, blinding visually painful and why do they do that? Otherwise, a well organized, enjoyable concert. Henry, please do it again next year! Mahalo

This concert was the best ever! The musicians and singers played from their hearts and we could feel it loud and clear! Best of all, it was for a very good cause. Henry Kapono should be commended for his love and good work. I hope we get to go to more concerts like this one. Aloha and Mahalo!

This was one of the very best concerts ever performed in Hawaii !!! I couldn't believe the quality of the artists and the hit songs that were played. THANKS Henry and Lezlee !!!

If you missed this once in a lifetime event then you missed your chance. We were already going to in the Islands for vacation but came one day earlier to attend this once in a lifetime concert. I would have flown in just for this event if I had to because there was no way I was going to miss this concert. Just look at the artist that performed. If you know classic contemporary music then you know what I'm talking about. Henry Kapono, you are a blessing to all of Hawaii foe what you do for the Kids of Make A Wish and the rest of the People of Hawaii.

The concert was truly unforgettable...a gorgeous night at the Waikiki Shell, with a perfectly choreographed evening which blended together a seamless arrangement of awesome music, laughter, a few tears (see favorite moment below), and endless praise for an extremely talented performer and his incredibly gifted friends. Very highly recommended!

What can I say... It was better than I expected. Went with many of my halau sisters and we had so much fun. The big screen was awesome. It allowed those of us farther back to be a part of it all.

I loved it all! There were several amazingly skilled singers with an ability to just wow the crowd. The duets on guitar just drawed me in. There is something about this concert live that is so much better then listening to it on a recording. Hard to explain.

This was an incredible concert of amazing local talent and was really well organized, all for a very good cause. Not only did my wife and I go and enjoy it beyond measure, but we bought tickets for our daughter and her husband who enjoyed it tremendously. Are only regret, we didn't buys tickets for our son and his wife. Really hope this becomes a yearly event!

Went with friends who I used to go to concerts with at the Shell, "back in the day". We all had a great time and realize we will never hear and see such a wonderful concert! It gave us chicken skin!!! The only negative is the Waikiki Shell rule. No outside food and drink. I realize that that revenue is important but so sad not to share a meal with friends. Let's go "back in the day" and let us bring back our picnics.

This concert was wonderful, all of the ever-talented musicians - the soulful music - the Aloha was everywhere. Henry kept it all together and it was just incredible. SO glad I went!!

The mixture of Local Artists were good. Yes, the Title "Back in the Day", was right on, as it did bring back memories from the '70's and early 80's. Nice to see the next generation blending in with their Kupuna.

Excellent didn't know what to expect being it was my first time. Didn't know it was for a good cause and it an event every year. Fabulous, excellent talent legends and new comers. Didn't want it to end. Totally awesome.

Only thing is hoping each artist would play more of their hit songs. Though I know timing is an issue. Concert still awesome.

This was the Best reunion Concert Henry has ever sponsored and played and I'ved been seeing them since the inception in Rainbow Villa days in the 70's. To bring back Jerry Santos of Ranch House days, the Beamer and others of that time including the Rough Riders Brother Noland and John Cruz was brilliant. Teressa Bright along with the incredible Tamare and compatable new male 13 year old STAR! Henry, you have given us such a specially blended gift of old and new to let us know that it's all going to be alright! We are forever in your debt.

Memorable...Funny...Loving it!!! I would certainly go again next year in 2016 at the same venue, the Waikiki Shell. Not only for the Memories but in support of the "Make a wish Foundation" in which brother Henry Kapono supports...What great thing to be a part of!!!

Everyone should see this show. It gave a feeling of real "ALOHA"

This was my first concert in about five years, and the first time my husband and I had been to the Shell in over 20 years! We also went from sitting on the lawn too reserved seating. We had a wonderful time! The concert was everything I hoped for, and more. It brought back so many wonderful memories of times gone by, places we've been, and things we done. All of my favorite Hawaiian artists sang my favorite s! Henry Kapono was on stage throughout the entire show - what a huge effort on his part! Besides sitting in chairs, the biggest differences we are the paved parking lot, no line for the women's restroom, and the waving of lighters being replaced by cell phones with their lights on! The only bad thing was the drones buzzing over our heads. I kept worrying one would fold of the sky those things are heavy, and their are buzzing was distracting. Both my husband and I are looking forward to doing this again.

This was a fantastic event! We are so fortunate to live in Hawaii and have the opportunity to enjoy the good old days and reminisce. This is like having the Eagles, Journey, Santana, Jimmy Buffet and others get together for a back in the day concert on the mainland for a whole lot less. What a great event!!!! Can't wait until next year's concert!

Every performer that sang was the best they ever were. They brought us back to the 70s when they first performed the songs. The memories of back in the day were unbelievable.

Great concert! Great Music! Nui Aloha! It was so wonderful to see so many friends of Henry's helping to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation! It was an amazing, long concert. It was almost 4 hours long, but it went by so fast! My husband and I can't stop talking about it! So much aloha!

Henry and friends brought the sound of aloha to The Waikiki Shell on Saturday, August 23, 2014. It was the best concert my heart has ever heard.

AWESOME. SPECTACULAR. HANA HOU!!! Great having all these local icons coming together & putting together such a wonderful performance. Songs from Back In The Day brought back a flood of memories & to hear it being performed live was "chicken skin". Hope there will be a hana hou concert soon.

The Whole Concert Event **Great** But needed a new Lighting Engineer, Not so good @ times

One of the best local concerts we have been to this year. Henry Kapono can sing any type of genre and the guests he had who played and sang with him were incredible!!!

I sang along with every single song during this concert except the one Kapono sang while the video was shown with the children from the Make a Wish Foundation. I was too busy shedding tears during that! Thank you Henry for putting this together. We all enjoyed it!

It was "Mid-Summer Night Dream" or like "Hawaiian" All Star game! Some C&K songs which Kapono played with friends were beautiful, such as "Kapono and Robert Kazimero", "Kapono and John Cruz", "Kapono and Sister Robi" or "Kapono and Amy",etc. I'm very happy to listen great duo or harmony. This is the best concert in 2014.

That was one of THE BEST concerts I have ever been to! I'm a transplant from the mainland and having lived here before, I knew a lot about Hawaiian music, but when Kalapana took the stage and ROCKED DA HOUSE, I knew how much I didn't actually know. That whole concert was a once in a lifetime experience!
