This show was filthy, disgusting and EXTREMELY offensive!! Which is EXACTLY what I paid for and Mr. Waters did NOT disappoint in that regard! Not only was his monologue distasteful and hilarious, He also answered at least 20 questions from the audience and even had the patience to give autographs to a line of people so long that it went out of the auditorium!! Mr. Waters was so generous of his time that it added greatly to my already very high respect for the him!!!

I've always loved John Water's movies. It was cool to actually see him and hear him talk about his experiences. Most of what he said I had heard in interviews already. I expected a little more from him, but I would have gone even if he stood their in silence all night. The cool part was he did a Q&A at the end of the session. The bad part was he was adamant that no one took his picture.

When I initially saw John Waters listed as a concert event I was quite surprised. Didn't even know he did this sort of thing. Always have been a fan of his movies and made an immediate decision to go see him live. Worth the 12 hour round trip to see him.

Elvis Perkins was brilliant . . . shame he only had time to play a few songs . . . I will definitely see him live every chance I get! John Waters . . . well hell! What can you say about John Waters?!? He was perfectly strange . . . and very comfortable in his own skin . . . not an easy combination! Waters was funny, strange, engaging, and warm. If you are a long time fan . . . or new to the world of John Waters . . . you will do well to see him live . . . no matter what the topic!

Did not enjoy the opening singer, so much so, I wasn't relaxed when Mr. Waters came out.

Thought the show seemed a little stale, like he'd been doing the same material for years (which he has). The Q and A was the best part because he responded spontaneously.

This is the second time I've seen a John Waters XMas show, both times were totally unforgettable. You feel like you're sitting down and having a conversation with him. I did miss having an opening act though... When he was at the 9:30 club Trixie Little and her band of degenerates gave a ridiculous vaudevillian show. Would've been nice to see them again.

john waters is hilarious. i haven't laughed so much in a long time. the show was not crude or angry or political like many stand up routines; simply funny things about his movies, his friends, and christmas.

Simply Amazing to see such a crude Director share so many intimate memories of the holiday season. And When I say "crude" I mean that in the best way Possible :-) ...It's John Waters. And The Meet & Greet was So Awesome!

He was so cute and he's amazingly positive. He's a great entertainer with loads of stories. he fired off one story after another. I laughed out loud probably every 30 seconds. He said 2 particular things that made my night- a Yearning for Zion polygamist cult joke and a Rachel Maddow Tea-Bagging scandal reference. I took my straight, doctor husband and he loved it too!

Two things.... first, I really liked that Waters spent the entire time speaking and there weren't any songs or anything like that. Much more entertaining that way. Second, he stuck around and interacted with some of the audience members (including me) afterward, and that was really great.

John Waters really has some new material! This is a must see for any and all cult fans of this man's films. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! The seating did fill up super fast! Luckily we weren't eating so we stood by the bar. It really seemed like it was beyond capacity. No wonder the 8 PM show sold out and an 11 was added. I wonder if that one was just as packed?

I am a big fan of John Waters!!! I love his movies and his humor is dark, strange, and esoteric like my own. I would recommend his one person show (no matter what time of the year) to anyone who is open minded and enjoys the unique, eccentric, and bizarre.

Saw John Waters last night. I had not had so many laughs in quite sometime. He is absolute brilliant. Not a dull moment. He won over the crowd and could have packed another house right away. Loved the Q&A at the end.

Wrong venue for this, but given how John phoned it in, the lack of appropriate venue did not matter. I'm a big fan, have seen him live before, but he seemed in a hurry to recite his canned lines and get the hell out. What a let down.

John Waters delivered rapid-fire monologue that amusingly skewered nearly all popular culture icons. Too bad he didn't talk more about his films, and their back stories.

We were laughing hysterically, non-stop, through the entire performance. John has to have the quickest wit of anyone out there. Fast paced, non stop wit and laughs. Even the random questions from the audience led to respectful, informative answers...and still more amazingly witty laughs.

John Waters, the beloved-if-not-Oscar-worthy director of his very own genre of Trash Cinema, began his appearance at B.B. King's wonderful Times Square venue by taking a single shallow breath which seemed to last for an hour and fifteen minutes. Waters delivery is machine-gun quick and laugh-packed while his attitude seems to suggest that everyone thinks like he does. The juxtaposition he exhibits is a metaphorical tea with your favorite uncle who can't seem to stop picking his genitals and showing you the nits. Of course, as his bonded family, we can't WAIT to see them! Mr. Waters' career has been long and his films have endured much like he has, looking better with age. His trademarked pencil thin mustache which he once entreated David Letterman to feel, Letterman declined, was in evidence as was his innate ability to charm and shock. Thank goodness! If ever one has the opportunity to encounter Waters in performance or on the street I heartily advise one to do so. If you see him on the go don't hesitate to blurt one of his many memorable lines as you pass. If you hurry to Baltimore you may get in "NOT ON CHRISTMAS! NOT ON CHRISTMAS!" just in the nick of time. (On a side note I'd like to say our server Sarah and "the stalker" she was training were delightful and fun! Not easily done but they did.)

I love John waters, I really do. I saw him 20 years ago do a talk at Stanford university. He was hilarious. The recent event was so-so. His non-stop delivery was pretty impressive but he went too fast for the jokes to sink in. The material was interesting and ribald and gross. All perfect. But I left wanting more.

While we have always enjoyed John Waters' movies, we were not prepared for the hilariously non PC hour and a half standup that he did which flew by like Christmas Day to a ten year-old. I knew Divine and have worked in the theatre with Mink Stole, so it felt like I was listening, in part, to irreverent stories about the family. What was interesting was the demographics of the audience...it could have been, partly, the same people who uased to go to see the Oprah Winfrey Show. What a holiday gift!

I took my husband to see this for his birthday because he is a longtime fan. (I only know Hairspray, but love that.) We both were highly entertained and laughed alot. Even though the humor is pretty adult, it is so intelligent that even a more reserved person such as myself can appreciate it. It was really a fun evening!

This was my first time to B.B. Kings. I have to say i was really impressed with the way the place looked. I was greeted by the staff with warm smiles and they were so helpful. I had purchased VIP seats, so I was sitting down the stairs mid section. They were great seats. I just loved, loved loved John Waters Christmas show. He was wonderful and so funny. I was at the December 19th show and I would have gone the next night so see again if I could. If he was there again for next Christmas I would be there again with bells on!.

John Waters is as hysterical now as he was many years ago when I saw him perform. I'm surprised he doesn't do stand-up more regularly, but when he's on stage a five minute conversation seems like a five hour long one... he packs a lot into a punch! Love his sense of self-deprecation and his fascination with youth culture... and how he ties the two together in sometimes uncomfortable, yet witty ways.

John Waters was great, as one would expect: Funny, insightful, shocking, tasteless, entertaining. You name it. Wasn't crazy about the venue. Felt a little crammed-in with the way BB Kings squeezes every possible seat in there. But it wasn't enough to ruin the show for me.

Wow! John Waters was fantastic and so gracious. He stated after the program to sign autographs and to talk briefly with his fans. We talked a bit about the Sylvia Likens murder. He talked about his movies and some general and not so general observations. He is one of my idols, my favorite movie director, and I got to see him in person and talk to him. IF he comes back to Indy, I'll be there.

Some of his material even gave me nightmares...it was great! The only thing I did not like was the gal who asked him what was going on with his jacket!? What? He looked great. It is wonderful and inspiring to hear about how his disturbing creations were born. To listen to someone speak who started from the ground up and made his filthy dreams come true! He was born to make these perverted films and his energy and ambition all throughout John Waters' life is what every aspiring artist should look up to!

Walking into the theater there were several people dressed up as characters from his movies to perfection. It was a very like-minded crowd of film buffs, acting students, and those who enjoy Waters movies and sense of humor. You could say it was a stand up routine, but they were all true halarious stories of his life in film making and very interesting life. Some really disgusting things, but of course that is what he is best known for! He spent a very long time with the audience on Q&As. He is very willing to answer nearly any question and his spontaneous humor was unscripted during that part of the show. He appeals to any creature that comes to his shows; freaks, geeks, hetero, flambouyant...... all are friends of Waters.
