I discover my first breath in the liquifide atmosphere.... Iam Human!

This event was originally scheduled for June 12th. Due to a Moreno family emergency the date was rescheduled to September 18th. It should be quite a show hearing from Rita Moreno herself about her incredible career. There's also over 100 people performing in her honor. Should be a great evening. I'm looking forward to it along with several friends coming into town just for this occassion. Rita Moreno is being honored with the Paul Robeson "Here I Stand" award. She will be interviewed live on stage by actress and cultural commentator Jennice Fuentes. Performing in honor of Ms. Moreno: Clavekasi Dance Studio, Furia Flamenca, Dance Asia Alliance, the Dance Institute of Washington, Zezeh Brazil Samba Dance Troup, Wushu Artist Olivia Zhang and the Hung Tao Choy Mei "Lucky Lions & Thunder Drummers.Some past honorees have been Harry Belafonte, Dick Gregory, Dr. John Hope Franklin, and just recently Ms. Judith Jamison. We went to last years show honoring Judith Jamison and the 2005 show with Harry Helafonte. This organization provides some great family entertainment.

This event was canceled . I would have very much enjoyed going, but, when I checked in on Saturday afternoon, the website said that the event was canceled.

I attended the Rita Moreno concert at Hillwood Recital Hall last night. She is truly a talented singer, actress, and woman. I've never been in that intimate of a setting seeing a concert before. I was in total awe the whole time. She looks and sounds, nothing like some people would think a 77 year old person would......she was still flawless! She is a true role model and it was moving to see how she still never forgets how she started out and still remembers her Puerto Rican roots:) I love her and believe everyone should see her perform!
