I had read if Jimmy came within 100 miles of where you lived he has to be seen, well we traveled 450 miles. This was worth the trip. The Rhythm Room in Phoenix was a fantastic venue with a friendly staff and reasonable drinks. Jimmy and the Drivers took us into a world of musical genius equaled by few and matched by none. This was a journey through blues and rock riffs which left us gasping for our breath, wondering where we would end up. Jimmy's guitar skills never let up coming at us with the veracity of a master exploring the realms of the universe of music only visited by the few who dare to travel in the past, present and future simultaneously. Mind blowing!!!!!!

As he is the reason we made the trip, I was glad that Jimmy T opened the show. The guy is a great guitarist and BB King management would be smart to have him back on a regular basis. From mellow blues to screaming Hendrix bits, he is one of the best. His first three cuts shocked everyone (in a good way).

Jimmy and his band never fail to put on an excellent show. Just superb guitar performance at every show I've been to. I would drive a thousand miles to see him play but I only had to go 750. Go watch and listen. Leave thoroughly impressed. Thanks Jimmy for "Red House"

Took a chance after hearing JT for the first time on the satellite radio driving down the highway. Best concert I've been to in a very long time & the venue was incredibly intimate. Hard to believe entertainment value like this is available in 2010. Gotta get some music to play at home.

Little Ed opened the night with an amazing set - everyone was feeling the groove. Then Jimmy came out and blew the roof off. Later, Jimmy brought Lil Ed out for a joint encore - outstanding! And as usual, the Birchmere is a terrific venue.

As I've come to expect from Jimmy Thackery, he gave another lesson from the School of Strat last Friday at the Birchmere. Opening act Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials from Chicago did a decent job of warming up the house with a traditional blues set, and it is difficult to not share Lil Ed's infectious joyous spirit. But when Jimmy T. straps on that beat-up ol' Fender, every other blues guitar player in the world better get out of the way! And as an extra treat, he had not one, but two drummers, which certainly kicked things up a notch, especially when the two stick-men followed up their solos with a trip into the audience to lay drum rolls on any hard surface they could find, including one young lady's earrings! If you've only heard Thackery from his recordings, you're missing out on his best music: a live JT performance will leave you breathless and dying for more.
