The music is dense and intense and filled with variattions that come and go quickly. Chris has gotten to the point where it all becomes a massive wave that knocks you out with its brilliance. He knows how to take a famous old song and play it like it's brand new. I think he could do just about anything with any song and make it sound current.

Of course I went to see Chris the next time he played. Got to hear a couple of new songs. Dynamic does not even come close to describing his playing. Ryan McGarvey played on two songs, what a treat that was.

This was my first time seeing Chris in concert so I didn't know what to expect. What I got was over two hours of technical brilliance and artistry that was overwhelming and stunning and beautiful. Chris is a force of nature, and you'll know what I mean if you go to one of his concerts.

I would have liked Chris better if he hadn't played so loud! We saw him on Sunday. It is now Tuesday morning and my ears are still ringing. It was so loud that it distorted the sound. I couldn't make out any of the words in his songs except for maybe a few. I listened to his songs before going to see Chris and he sounded great. His music ranges from hard rock to blues rock. Sometimes he sounded like Stevie Ray Vaughn, sometimes like Hendrix. There is no doubt that Chris is a maniac guitar player. I would also like to see him turn down the extreme playing and big endings in every song. If he would do so, he would put on a better show. My husband is a guitar player, and he said that although Chris is a VERY good guitar player, he should tone it down and show more finese. Overall, I thought that the show was pretty good. I hope that he reads this and takes me up on my advice.

CDG did an awesome job and the Plaza Theater is an outstanding place to see a show! John Jordan did some bass "magic" on Scrawl. It just seemed painful to watch him "carry" that hunk of wood and wire around for 2 hours!!! I still don't understand for the life of me why you need a 7 string bass!!!! Brandon was extremely "tight" the entire night! He was beatin' the hell out of his set to keep up with Chris' Chicago Blues Box, and Marshal stack! Chris did pull his '64 (or '65) Strat out of the closet to play a few songs. He played his Xotic guitar most of the night.
