Willie K

Willie K is such a versatile artist. He can sing opera, blues, jazz, rock and pop as well as Hawaiian music. He has an amazing voice and a great stage presence. He is the real deal and what you see is what you get.

Willie amazed the audience with a wide variety of music. There was never a dull moment. He was scheduled to play from 8:30 to 10:00, but he played until midnight with only one ten minute intermission.

Fabulous voice and amazingly talented man. He performed for 4 hours with only one very short break.

A must see and a fantastic array of music!!!! Willie K gives his all and if you haven't seen him in person you can't possibly appreciate his distinct guitar and vocal talents. WOW!!

Traditional Hawaiian music, blues, classical, it was all there along with the practical homespun "truths" of growing up in Hawaii. It was a memorable evening. Especially if you grew up in Nanakuli/Waianae, no, on second thought, especially if you grew up in Hawaii. It brought back many memories.

Willy K is an amazing performer! He is multi talented and so entertaining. His voice is powerful and very pleasant to hear. What an incredible guitar and ukelele player!! He also entertained us all with his life "stories". We enjoyed his performance so much that we got last minute tickets to see him again at SF Yoshi's the next night. Willy spreads the Aloha spirit wherever he goes. Thank you, Willy.

We couldn't have been happier. The sounds that come out of this man's mouth are astonishing. He played and sang for 1 1/2 hours straight with no intermission. And then did an encore for another 1/2 hour.

Those of us who follow Willie K know that he is very talented and that he dabbles in other genre's. Let me tell you his talent in other genre's just added positively to the show. The Hawaiian music he sang brought tears to my eyes because of the beauty of his voice and at other times brought me off my seat because of the energy and fun he has on stage. The concert was top notch and I would recommend one of his concerts to anyone who asked.

One of the most entertaining shows! I've seen him perform in many venues, some in Hawaii, some in CA. Each show is better than the rest. Even if you're not a fan of Hawaian music, he performs an international mix of music not to be missed, The audience was on their feet more than once.

The "Wow Factor" for Willie K was off the charts. On recommendation from a friend, who frequents Maui regularly, loves the guitar and knows our love of the blues, we purchased tickets to see Willie K. Never in our wildest dreams did we ever expect to hear something like this. A booming voice that can authentically replicate all genres of music wrapped Hawaiian Style and born to entertain. Willie K you blew us away. We were shocked to see mid-night on the clocks when you closed it down, but you left us still wanting more. Aloha and Mahalo.

Willie K's an amazing talent!!! Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, ukulele...a virtuoso. An effortless voice that covered everything from Blues to Opera and of course...Hawaiian.

My wife is a native of Maui and, as a teenager, Willie K was one of her favorite singers. I had no expectations but came away from this concert knowing it was one of the best ones I have ever been to. Willie K is amazingly talented and I loved every minute of it. Book him again and I'm there!

Willie K is a great entertainer. Thoroughly enjoyed this show. Seats were very poor because of being on the side of the stage but I am still giving 5 stars. Would not miss his show when he comes again. We are hoping he will be in Maui sometime when we vacation there.

What an amazing concert ... 2.5 hours of amazing music and amazing musicians!! Hawaiian, blues, opera, and rock..it was all there and then some.. Willie K is one of the world's most versatile performers...really good acoustics plus 2 big screens made the audio visual experience close to perfect...the only negative was the directions to the venue and the difficulty in locating it once there.

I bought tickets for a Christmas gift to myself and my husband. We've seen him in Hawaii years ago and went to his concert on the Pier. This guy is so entertaining! I liked the Kalama Brothers and I think the opening between the Puyallup tribe and the Hawaiian chanter was incredible. A beautiful way to start a wonderful concert. His brother's halau performance was touching. (His voice is incredible too!) I LOVED when his brother danced! So fun!!!! His 16 year old daughter's dances were absolutely perfect!!!!! I want to get back into hula after seeing her dance. WOW!! (Don't worry, Willie. . . the dresses were worth it!) The encore (hana hou) song was perfect! I wish I could get that on my ipod! Willie K is one of the best guitarist I've ever heard. He is the most versitile singer too. He is hilarious on stage. I would go see him again and again.

Willie K is an amazing talent. Quite the entertainer. His following continues to grow on the mainland. Looking forward to his next pass through the Northwest or our next trip to Maui. However: This was my first and last trip to the EQC. What a dump!

So glad to see Willie K performing on the mainland. He puts on a great show every time. Last time we saw him perform alone. This time there was a great opening act - the Kalama Brothers. During the show he featured members of his family - some from Edmonds. There were all wonderful. The only downside is the amount of smoke at the Emerald Queen - so thick you could hardly breathe. Luckily the show area is smoke free but getting in and out isn't. The show was fabulous and the venue sucked. 5 star show - 1 star venue. We were in the front row so had a great view. Since the show area just has what look like a lot of dining chairs lined up on a level surface the people back further had to look over the heads or through everyone to see.

Lived in Hawai for years and Uncle Willy brought "home" back to me in a wonderful way. His range just keeps broadening, absolutly fanatasic...sense of humor and story telling only a local can tell...ohana man thru n thru...left me wanting to move back to my little grass shack.....Uncle Willy until we meet again (soon I hope) Kolomo Bro's are a great opening show too...

We saw Willie K in Maui a few years ago and he was fantastic then and even more now! He is super funny and entertaining! He can sing just about anything from the Blues to Opera (my fav)! When we were at the Maui show at the little Irish Pub he even took time to take a picture and sign autographs with anyone who wanted one :-) We will definately see him again whether it is at the EQC or in Maui! All I can say is awesome! Oh and The Kalama Brothers the opening act were amazing too!!

Willie K is quite the musician and singer and story teller and joker. would not want to miss him if he comes back. Seems like he has great respect for people. would love to see you have him back. only saw him one time before and I know he can do a lot more entertaining. over all GREAT show. nice casino.

Unique show that was very entertaining. Willy k is very talented musician, showman and storyteller. As expected it had a heavy hawaian flavor. Not having much connection to the islands made it interesting, those that were from there could definitely connect in a deeper away.

Willie K is a great performer. I have seen him on Maui so I knew he was versatile, but having him perform all varieties of music in his 2 1/2 concert was fantastic. He does traditional Hawaiian, jazz, blues, rock, a bit of Mexican and Italian, and opera in a rock style. It doesn't seem like there isn't anything he couldn't do. His Willie Nelson may be better than Willie himself. And he connects with the audience in a very human way. He is very likeable. I hope he comes back soon, or I'll just have to see him on Maui.

Willie K is an amazing performer and extremely talented musician. His show was a lot of fun. The only negative about his show is that I would have liked him to play less blues/rock and played more Hawaiian music.

Willie K and Ohana was simply the best entertainment we have seen in a long time. We have a fabulous time and enjoyed every minute of it.

Willie K set was great, but, he should have brought some of his entertainment brothers from Maui for the opening set. Having some unknowns in the opening set does not cut it.

You get your money's worth when you attend a Willie K concert. One of the longest concerts I've ever been to. Kalama Bros - excellent opening act. Uncle Willie is an excellent guitar/ukulele player, and his vocal range is unreal. Loved the casual feel, and his versatility from Hawaiian, to Jawaiian, to opera, to Judy Garland impersonation, to blues, etc - awesome! Hula dancers excellent touch, great costumes.

Supa performance,great sound and musicianship.Uncle never miss a beat. I've been seeing Willie for years every time its incredible.

This was an excellent show... Willie K is so talented, and absolutely hilarious! I would go back again and again. He was very spontaneous, so I am sure each show is unique.

I saw Willie K in Lahaina at a happy hour show on the deck of Kimos last September. This show was pretty much the same except he added alot of funny stories along tha way. I will make it a point to see him again. Hopefully in Hawaii.. The opening act Kolomo Brothers was awesome too!

WillieK mixes up his musical selections. It's not all about Hawaiian music or his old classics. Willie performs Hawaiian, rock, blues, and opera as well as he "talks story" about his life.

We are amazed at his talent and vocal range from yodeling to opera to reggae to pure Hawaiian. Phenomenal on guitar and ukulele. Would like to have heard more Hawaiian though but other than that the show was perfect.

It was the BEST concert I've been to in a very long time. I saw Willie K in Maui, but he was at his best at this concert. I took my sister and she had never heard of him and was really impressed. She is going to download all his songs now.

IF you have never seen Willie K i cannot recommend him enough we stumbled upon in the 90"s in Hawaii best find ever. He sings beautiful Hawaiin music but his blues, and love of rock are what steel the show. He is an amazing guitarist!!!! You will never regret an evening with Willie K i promise!!!

We thought he put on a great show... The amps were set far to loud and the evermoving spot lights (pointed at the audience) were invasive.. We have seen Willie in other venues and he does great--not over produced.. He is great!!!

This legend of Hawaiian music is more versatile than we imagined. Not only does he sing his Hawaiian stuff, he busts out the electric guitar and does some rock and blues. An accomplished guitarist, he's funny, engaging, and was definitely worth the cost of the tickets. We recommend his show to any fans of Hawaiian music!

This man is amazingly creative! Super guitarist and ukulele player. He has a wide range of super talents. I heard it all - hawaiian, blues, opera, western, jokes, chants and more. This is more than a concert. It is a fascinating experience of music, talent, fun and humor. Go see this man and his band!

This is my 3rd time seeing Willie K and his band. The other 2 times were on Maui. I was so excited when I heard he was coming to a local venue because he is truly a gifted musician and singer. His voice and range are nothing short of amazing and beautiful. He can sing anything! From Jimmy Hendricks to opera. I was in awe and near tears several times, and when I wasn't near tears I was dancing in my chair. He played Ukulele, electric, and acoustic guitar like no one I have ever seen or heard. Truly awe inspiring.

A Willie K concert is an experience you will never forget. The man can play or sing anything, from blues to opera to traditional Hawaiian chants. He can even micmic the female singers pretty darn well! Just hearing him do his version of "We are the World" parodying all of the different voices is worth the price of the whole show. We will always be going to see him as long as he keeps coming to the mainland.

This man is so "under the radar"! He's a talented musician on guitar and ukelele and his voice is beautiful whether singing Hawaiian music, classics, standards or even opera. And his three background musicians are first rate. What an enjoyable evening. We took two new young people to meet Willie K.....they were blown away.

From start to finish this concert was alive, fulfilling and so very diverse. This man has a one of a kind voice and his three musicians are a perfect compliment to his unique style. People waiting were all talking about this Hawaiian treasure who has been singing and playing his whole life. Many Hawaiian people were in attendance and are true followers of this outstanding entertainer. He is like a "Pied Piper" as he leads you from laughing to tears and back again. We will seek him out on Maui and would attend concerts he does here in the future.

Uncle Willie was at his finest Saturday night. My wife and I have been vacationing on Maui for the past 16-years and have seen Willie K playing at the local pubs several times. We have always enjoyed his shows but seeing him in a concert situation where he played steady for over 3 hours was amazing. For the first time I have really noticed that he has a full range voice which is awesome to say the least. We were celebrating our 15-year wedding anniversary with some friends who have never heard of him before. They told us that the show was a lot better than they could have ever expected

This was an awesome concert... there was no opening act and he played for 3 1/2 hours of full entertainment.

This show can not be beat! Uncle Willie K is an amazingly talented Man! The hour and a half show turned into over three hours. We enjoyed every minute of it!

I've been a fan of Willie K, but (living in California) have never seen him perform live. The concert was unbelievable in both music and voice. He is truly a great musician, and wonderful vocalist. The skill with which he can perform is amazing. The wife and I had a most enjoyable evening. One we'll both remember for quite some time!!!

Willy K was his usual outstanding performer. I have seen him 4 times previously in Maui and I just booked his Blues Show at Mulligans for mid January. I love his energy, range of music and he can play classical through the blues with the best of them. Thank you Willy K , for sharing your music with us all!!!

Willie K is a national treasure. We would have liked to hear more from the Kalama Brothers...they were very good. The comedian could have cut his time by 15 minutes. Willie again was great as always. Again he is a national treasure.

It was a great concert. Willie played a wide variety of music and he was very funny. The accoustics in the venue were awesome. His voice filled the place up. Because it was Christmas time there was of course some Christmas music. I preferred his traditional stuff and especially his blues stuff to the Christmas music, but understand why he performed what he did. I'd definitely see Willie K in concert again.

Cannot wait until he returns! Great voice! All genres! Humor! The concert was non stop for about 2 hours and wonderful!

We missed him the last time he was in town. It was so great to finally get to see him in person. He was definitely worth the wait!! We can't wait for him to come back!!!

Willie K is such a great entertainer, he has a beautiful voice no matter what he is singing, from blues to opera and keeps your attention the whole show. Love to hear his many family stories and his humor really makes me laugh. I can say that he is my favorite entertainer and wouldn't miss a show when he comes to my area. I saw his show last March and loved it also. Although the show in March was Willie K and friends and I will say that I was disappointed that his brother and sister-in-law did not perform at this show. His brother also has a beautiful voice and they both are excellent hula dancers. Hopefully the next time Willie K comes to the Emerald Queen he will include them in the show. Can't wait until next time!! So funny!! His rendition of We Are the World was hilarious, loved it. Willie was talking about the young singers today, singing their hip hop/rap love songs, sang a bit like them and then said "Yeah, we're not doing that !@#$ here tonight!!" He is so talented at playing the guitar and ukulele. So many favorite moments, too many mention.

My husband and I originally saw Willie at the Hard Rock Cafe in Lahaina....we were so impressed that on our next visit to Maui we made sure to go back in hopes that he would be there. We knew he was good - BUT at this concert...I could not believe the voice that comes out of that man...AWESOME. His personality can not be beat either.......

We all know how amazing Willie K's voice is but you never remember how truly beautiful it is until you hear him in person again. He never disapoints...from Kachi Kachi Music Makawao...to classic slack key "back porch" Hawaiian songs...to kick ass blues....and some small kid time stories tossed in....no one puts on a show like Uncle Willie!! If you are a local far from home or an adopted islander at heart...he's just what the doctor ordered!!!

I have to admit, I went to this show only because my husband wanted to go. I was expecting to be a bit bored. Not a huge fan of hours of guitar playing, especially slack key. Boy, was I surprised. Willie K is a huge talent on many levels. He can play all sorts of instruments, do old style Hawaiian but also rock, awesome blues, sing opera, and crack jokes in between. He also brought two of his daughters on stage to entertain the crowd. Fabulous evening that we will remember always.

Best concert I've ever been to. Looking forward to seeing Mr. K again.

What can I say about a legend that hasn't already been said. He's one of the best entertainers of all time. You must see him live to get the fullness of his personality. Just a note, the tickets said no video or photos allowed, but cameras were all over the place (I didn't take mine though) and I see below where you can add those, so I'm a bit confused on the policy.

Well it is hard to review a concert like this, I was expecting the old days where he rocked out for a couple of hours. A tip for anyone, he is usually 45 minutes late, back in the day and still to this day, he is on Hawaiian time, and I don't mind it. The opening act was good. He has an absolutely AMAZING VOICE, but the show was slow as heck and too much hula from his brother for over an hour, it was good hula, and nice singing, but I did not come for that. I thought it was adorable his tiny daughter sang, but maybe just let her sing 1 song, and get back to business. We saw some people get up and leave. Too bad, once he got warmed up (after 2 hours) the last 45 minutes or so was the old Willie K. I like his humor and comedy, it is like Carlos Mencia and sometimes direct like a New Yorker kind of person, I just wished it was more "show" like and professional. For what we paid we felt we were in his backyard at a cookout. The event space was very good. The food was actually good, we had some Thai downstairs. The Casino itself, well just skip it and head to the show room. I know Willie is not 35 years old anymore, I guess I will just have to remember the old days. Maybe he is getting tired. It was more of a family type of show, so if you have a family to bring then this is perfect, I was looking for more of a rock show like I used to see from him. Wished we could have danced a couple of times, but there was no area set up for this so we moved around at the back a little.

The performers were great! I was not impress with the venue. If you sit in the back be prepared to hear a lot of background noise making it hard to really get into the performance.

So entertaining! loved the hula dancers! His brother was also a very great singer! Bringing the music, musicians, dancers and family members, kids singing and performing together made it all very wonderful! Really liked the reasoning and display of respect from the hawaiians and the tribal members at the beginning with the exchange of gifts. Just truly a quality performance!

I have always followed Willie K (I am from Hawaii). He has gotten better than ever now. The venue was perfect for him, and he sounded great!! I hope you have him here again. He played extremely long, and everyone stayed and enjoyed him. He definately made everyone (including myself and my friends) feel like family. Bring him back to our state, and to the EQC again. More Wille!!!

Willie K rocked the Emerald Queen!!! He has a powerful voice from opera to BB King and don't mess with his Judy Garland. Watching him play the Ukelele, guitar and base was amazing. I enjoyed how he talked story through the performance. especially how he learned to play the ukelele.

Willie K was amazing! In the true spirit of ohana, Willie started by honoring the Puyallup tribe by sharing a welcoming ceremony for permission to perform. His respect for others and sharing the limelight are the hallmarks of this great man... and can this man sing and entertain! Wow! He is also one of the best storytellers I've heard. The 3 1/2 hours that he was on stage went by much too fast. I can't wait to see him again... and if I am lucky enough to see him with Amy Gilliom, it would be perfection. Although the sound system, lighting and video were great, the cigarette smoke in the casino was overwhelming.
