Great show! Jovanotti generates so much positive energy. His enthusiasm is contagious and my jaw hurt from smiling so much. It was great to see him up close without having to fight a big crowd. Saturnino and the rest of the band were fantastic. The older bearded guy on keyboard was fun to watch.

The event originally had to start at 9, when we arrived, the announcement said it will start at 9:30 and in fact it started at 10:15 pm. There was no indication when buying the tickets, that there were not seats, but one had to stand up during the whole event. If not Jovanotti's music, the overall atmosphere of the venue was not very welcoming and inviting.

This event was so awesome that I would definitely come to hear Jovanotti perform hear again. I was jumping, clapping, dancing and singing for 2 hours strait. I was soaked with sweat and can't believe I've waited this long to see Jovanotti live. Can't wait to do it again.

The Bowery Ballroom was a great venue to see Jovanotti, who regularly sells out arenas in Italy. The Bowery Ballroom is a small club with room for about 1000, all standing. If you aren t familiar with Jovanotti, his music is a little hard to classify but he is basically a rapper who also sings some wonderful ballads. He stayed mostly with rap for this concert, which then really became more of a street party than concert with strong African rhythms in many songs. Jovanotti was dressed in the colors of the American flag and put on a high energy show. When not singing or encouraging the crowd to join in, he danced around like a wild man. The audience was mostly Italian, which Jovanotti acknowledged with a tongue-in-cheek comment at the end when he said in Italian: You (the crowd) speak Italian very well. Keep up your studies, except for the 4 or 5 people who only spoke English . He sang a good mix of songs from his current album, Ora, and several songs going back as far as the early 90 s. It was a fantastic night of music.

What can you say about Jovanotti? He is pure happiness wrapped up in a tall, skinny Italian man who sings / raps about what everyone can relate to. I learned that the three most important things that make the world go round is life, love and music. He is a nonstop ball of energy. He played for about two hours without stopping. You could see how much he was enjoying the performance and how hard he was working. He sounded just as good as when he records and makes everyone feel welcomed. Even though we weren't in Italy, being at that concert reminded me of home. Truly amazing performer and experience.

Jovanotti has an incredible charisma in person that one would not gleam just from listening to his music, and as for his music, the live experience is charged with energy and his band presents a much more funky take on all his songs than the studio recordings. He was keen to interact with his audience in English, Italian, and Spanish and he singled out members of the audience who he checked in with throughout the show. One song took him up into the balcony of the venue where he greeted people without losing a beat of the rap he was performing. Another moment he took a phone from the audience amidst an active phone call and sung directly into the phone at the fan's request. Yet another time he took someone's running video camera and brought it up on stage for an unparalleled view at the live performance before handing it back. The whole crowd found his energy contagious and were both singing along and moving together as a unit. He also dropped in on his bandmates, taking some time on the keyboard and on the drums alongside his bandmates.

Jovanotti played at Terminal 5 on Saturday night. Although he's an absolute megastar in Italy, he's virtually unknown to the English speaking world, but my god does he know how to create a party! An explosive combination of Latin/Afro/reggae/hip hop/rap/funk dance music. He put in an amazing performance with an enormous amount of energy. Crowd was whipped up into a frenzy. Amazing. Hope he plays more gigs in the city.

This is the type of show where people cannot sit down. Jovanotti has so much energy that he contaminates the audience and makes anyone want to move around, or actually jump around. This time, he had a great set list covering most of his career going from Serenata Rap to a couple of song in Ora. The show ended in a climax with L'Ombelico del Mondo, which put everybody to dance. I'm already looking forward to catching him in another tour. The one thing that disappointed me was the opening act with Diego Garcia. He had the totally opposite vibe from Jovanotti and his music was sleep inducing. His stage presence is nearly sad: a pseudo-romantic, exaggerated fake persona that at times seemed to be channeling Julio Iglesias.

I grew up listening to Jovanotti in Italy, so I was excited by the prospect of seeing him in NYC. I even decided to bring my two kids, ages 8 and 11; it was their first live concert. Diego Garcia was a pleasant opener for what would follow: a high energy, funky, wriggly Jovanotti overflowing with excitement and enthusiasm for his New York audience. Jovanotti sweated up a storm, singing some new material as well as old favorites like Penso Positivo, which is where he excelled. I was less impressed with his renditions of American hits by the likes of Alicia Keys ("Empire State of Mind") and Michael Jackson ("Wanna Be Startin Somethin), in his heavy accented English, which some may have found charming. I didn't. My biggest issue however, was with the venue. Too small and uncomfortable to accommodate the crowd. Despite having paid $35 per ticket, I was forced to crouch behind two rows of people, hoping to get a glimpse of Jovanotti. My kids were sitting on the floor and standing.

First of all, I've been following Jovanotti since I went to Italy in 96/97... I know some Italian, and while I can only understand some of the lyrics, the music was great enough to get me to search out a music store in my family's town and buy his CD! As far as the venue... At first I felt like I was duped into buying these tickets, or that I simply hadn't paid attention to the advertisement... I didn't realize it would be an interview of the artist! I thought he was here to put on a concert, lol... But I was sat down and listened, and then he sung 5 or 6 songs acoustically... All I can say now is WELL WORTH IT! What a great way to hear a favorite artists story, and then receive and intimate acoustic live performance!

What a great place to see an artist...the place is about 1/4 the size of a high school auditorium. Jovanotti was gracious, funny, lovely and lyrical...there was a short video, he was interviewed by a moderator, then the audience got to ask questions. He then he played a (too small!) selection of songs acoustically, something he rarely does. That was my only complaint...not nearly enough music!

Jovanotti played at St. andrews hall in detroit downtown, which is a nice setup for crowds up to app. 1000 the Opener was kind of sweet and put a lot of pressure on jovanotttis gig But he made it happen, very energetic, dancing with the crowds right from the beginning, fast hip hop, pop and all his hits :) His band was fun to watch and very professional ,bottom line we loved it !

One of my American friends thought he was a singer like Pavarotti when I told him about the show and he certainly isn't. Listen to his music and you will see this is a must attend concert. Jovanotti is one of the most loved singers/songwriters in Italy, but he is probably unknown to the American public. Having the chance to attend one of his concerts in Atlanta, and especially one in a small theatre like the Variety where audience and players were pretty much one thing was an unforgettable experience that all of us who were present will cherish for a long time. His music was engaging, genial, at times moving and going straight to the heart. In spite of the small attendance compared to the masses that his concerts always draw in Italy his energy was overflowing and the result was an amazing performance. The concert was great, Jovanotti did a great show. I'm italian and I saw him in the past in outdoor location. The terminal 5 location was really good, I was close to the stage and the sound was perfect.

Americans....embrace him....up dancing all night....great concert...can't wait til he comes back through Boston again!! An Italian friend turned me on to him...do yourself a favor and just listen to his songs...even if you don't understand the language...music is universal.

I have been wanting to see Jovanotti for many years (since I began studying Italian, in fact), and was so excited to find out that he was doing a show in NYC. The tickets were a steal (only $30 to see one of Italy's biggest stars, a man who easily fills 80,000-person arenas) and Lorenzo was AMAZING!!!! Definitely worth it! Evviva Jova!!!!

I have never seen someone perform with so much energy. His music is so uplifting I walked out of that show feeling like a million bucks. He artfully combines funk, hip hop, rap, and jazz. His ballads are touching and moving in a very down to earth way. Fav: Moment: The close of the show with L'Ombelico del Mondo! It is one of his older songs however it really embodies his message and drives home his desire for Love, Peace, and Tolerance. I wish he was doing more shows in NYC or even on Long Island.
