Jason Bonham

Jason Bonham

JASON BONHAM IN CONCERT:Jason Bonham’s thunderous drumming recalls one of the greatest to ever sit behind the skins: his father John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. Even as the son of a rock legend, Jason has managed to carve out a niche of his own, becoming one of the most in-demand drummers playing today. Instead of just conducting the band from behind his trademark transparent kits, Bonham often engages with the audience, calling for them to cheer and sing along to their favorite songs. Touring with both his original material and his work with Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, he continues to treat ticket buyers to mind-blowing drumming that simply cannot be missed.

Led Zeppelin is my favourite band of all time. John Bonham died when I was in high school so I never got to see them. I did see Page & Plant when they played with an orchestra years ago. Jason Bonham has put together a special group of musicians that recreate a sound that is spot on. Lick for lick, from holding the high notes like Robert Plant, to the reverb from the guitar like Jimmy Page. The highlight was the drum solo in "Moby Dick" where they projected concert footage of John Bonham playing the song while Jason Bonham played in front of it, absolutely chilling!!!

This band far exceeded my expectations and believe me, they were high to begin with. They were unique enough but didn't sway to far from the original group as you would swear if you closed your eyes you could easily imagine yourself back in the 70's listening to Robert, Jimmy, John, and John Paul Jones. The small venue made it all the better as the acoustics were phenomenal. Jason's band played a good strong two hours and never was there a disappointment. These guys worked their butts off on the stage and were there to give us an "experience" to remember.

We have seen them 5 times now and the energy is amazing every time. It's the closet thing to the real Led Zeppelin.

I went to this concert with low expectations, I mean it's NOT Zep right? Maybe not but I must say, I was blown away! My personal feeling was; close your eyes and tell me it's not Zep! The vocals were spot on and the guitar was perfect! Jason is his father's son on drums, John would be proud! That was something I hadn't expected, the respect and honor Jason showed for his Dad and that he gave us a glimpse into the life of a rock musicians son! I can't say enough about my experience with the experience, it was an awesome experience! I'll definitly do it again soon!

Was an excellent show as Jason likes to keep the crowd engaged in the show. The lead singer is spot on Robert Plant, and the guitar, bass, piano and organ player are on the money. These songs are played as recorded, not changed up as Plant was famous for in his live shows.

Great show!! Never expected the walk down memory lane! The original sound came through and Jason Bonham was such a genuine guy. He really misses his dad and shows a lot of respect for his father and the band. It was a wonderful evening.

I believe that, not only would his dad be proud, but also, the entire band, his family, all of the fans, etc., should be proud. Great show! All the crew, on and off the stage. My family will go again and continue to support this endeavor. This is what celebrating life is all about!

This was my 2nd time seeing Jason Bonham and he does a great show. This show was advertised as performing Led Zeppelin's I and II in it's entirely plus some greatest hits. He changed it up instead. I was disappointed, as I really wanted to hear I and II since those 2 albums are great. They contain some of my favorite songs, among other Zep albums. Otherwise, I highly recommend seeing Jason Bonham as the performance is fantastic. If you missed seeing Led Zeppelin, this is the next best thing!

The Jason Bonham show at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center was great. The band was excellent and Jason was very engaging with the audience. The sound was clear and crisp and at a good volume. I worried before the show about the vocalist handling the Robert Plant singing of Led Zep songs - no worry, he was fantastic. Jason performed "Moby Dick" along with video of John Bonham soloing on the video screen - an unbelievable moment. All around grand time.

What a great show. Jason should be very proud to be able to keep his father's passion going! Too bad the other Zeppelin members don't share the same passion. The current band members nailed it! Thanks for bringing the show to us!

The show was fantastic-couldn't tell the difference between James,Tony, and Jason and Robert,Jimmy, and John 95% of the songs. The floor seats became a little uncomfortable couple of hours into the show.I'm in my late 50s so I didn't want to stand to watch the show.

If you like Led Zeppelin, these guys were out standing. I saw them 2 years ago at DTE Center as warm up to Heart They were better than Heart when performing LZ songs!!! They need to play the DTE Center as headline, I believe they Could sell it out!! They don't try to dress or act like LZ and even add some live Changes to the songs. I highly recommend them!!

The concert was excellent. You could have closed your eyes and thought you were listening to Page, Plant, and Bonham. Tony Granata on lead guitar is incredible, Bonham is spot on and the rest of the band is top notch. They really do justice to Led Zeppelin and their music. Anyone who hasn't seen them should.

Man what to say, this has got to be without a doubt one of the best tributes I have ever seen in my life. The sound is so spot on that if your not looking directly at the band you would swear it is the original group performing. Go see this concert will not disappoint.

This was our first time seeing him in concert. This was by far the best show we have been too. He's entertaining, and the music was just like the original. We will definitely go back to see him again.

I had seen Jason a few years back at DTE as part of the Heart show there, and loved them. Full disclosure - I am a dyed-in-the-wool 'Zeppelin fan, so let's get that out of the way. Still, at DTE and at this show, in no way did the band disappoint - if anything was a disappointment it was the fans. I was bewildered by how many fans in attendance sat (like an oil painting) and or did not applaud. When I say 'sat' I mean as in never once choosing to rise to their feet to appluad the great musicianship that was on display. I mean...here you have Jason Bonham - himself an exceptionally skilled percussionist and son of the late, great John Henry Bonham - fronting a band that is paying the most sincere homage to his dad and to Messrs Page, Plant, and Jones...and you just sit that ? Really? Nothing was good enough to get you on your feet? Part of me wondered if some of the crowd were there as a consequence of having received "comp" tickets from the Casino, or were already planning on being at the Casino that night and the show was just 'part' of their night out rather than the reason for being there. For me, it was the sole reason I chose to visit the venue (I am not into gambling...just music). Again, I have to contrast this show with the shows at DTE (now that I think about it, I may have seen the Jason Bonham Experience twice there). Maybe it's the DTE crowds, maybe the venue...but...people were there to hear the music, and were way more enthusiastic than what I saw at the Windsor show. Jason even said - at one point - that the Security people should let fans down in front of the stage, and that people could stand if they wanted...but few people responded. Some of us chose to stand as Jason had sort of given the green light. All in all though, a great show. If you are a die-hard 'Zeppelin fan you recognized that some of the tunes were done as faithful renditions of the album versions, while other tracks were played as period-correct version from the Band's live shows from the 70's. That was one thing that made it really cool for me - that is, that they really did try to emulate the live shows (i.e. versions of songs as found in the film / soundtrack "The Song Remains the Same" and other since-released live 'Zeppelin material. This alone was great to hear because it just showed me ho seriously Jason takes this whole thing, and that they made it happen was all the better. As far as the Band, yes, they tore it up. The guitarist (apologies to all as I do not recall their names) were spot-on. Yes, they even broke out the Theremin and not only that, the guitarist emulated Page's riffs on that instrument - NOT an easy thing to do. As far as his riffs and runs, really, really good work there. No, he is not Jimmy Page (who is?), but again, that he executed so many of Page's riffs with the proper phrasing and style was really great. Likewise for bass and keys - they were all on, as was the vocalist (formerly of "Virtual Zeppelin" on YT) who did a great job of emulating Plant's vocals of that era. The encores rocked (as did the whole show, which was missed on man as I have mentioned) and came from records other than I & II (they came from "IV" and "Physical Graffiti" among others). Hearing Jason join-in on "When the Levee Breaks" (they started it with an homage to Bonzo) and then hearing the band CRUSH that made it all the more special. So, for a handful of fans who really 'got' what he was doing, it was (I'm sure they would agree) an awesome show. However, as I stood down in front of the stage, I looked back at the house, and even during the encores, few people chose to stand (and I looked back before and during the encores, but again, most of the audience just weren't into it to the degree that the die-hard 'Zeppelin fans (like me) were into it. I will definitely go see the 'Experience again (assuming they continue to tour), but frankly, I think that I would prefer to see (hear) them at DTE. It just seemed to me that when I saw them there before, the audience were far more 'into it' and appreciative...and this positive feedback always makes for a better show. On the other hand, the acoustics of the venue (at Casino Windsor) are quite good...so there's that. All in all, a great show for those who were open to what the Band were laying down. Great, great show.

I saw them perform in November in the Electric Factory in Philly. It was an absolutely UNFORGETTABLE, AMAZING show! If you are a Led Zeppelin fan, you NEED to see this. I can't wait until July 2nd, when I'm going to see them again with Heart & my son gave me for my birthday VIP tickets, so I'm actually going to get to MEET Jason! I don't to wait anymore!!!

One of the best concerts I have ever seen! Jason's timely interaction with the audience is an unexpected bonus and brings us close to his dad and family. Be prepared to watch him jamming with his dad, thanks to sophisticated audio-visual effects. Vocalist should wear a long hair wig. He sounds just like Robert Plant. Simply awesome.
