He didn t miss a note and his piano skills are off the chart. He let many of the stars in the Lincoln jazz orchestra shine as well. He is a classy wonderful guy who puts on a jazz fusion show unlike any other.

Well, let me say this about that; The entire show was nonstop extreme musicianship performed by every awesome musician that took the stage!.. Bela Fleck And The Flecktones: An outstanding fusion of the oddest sort... bluegrass, classical, jazz, rock and soul; Bela Fleck, whom I had never heard of (nor the Flecktones, for that matter), played the most amazing lead licks and quirky rhythms that I've ever heard out of a banjo before. He is simply, rather complexly, amazing! THEN, throw in Future Man (percussionist extrordinare), Howard Levie (on keys and harmonica+) and the masterful bassist (possibly of all time) Victor (Woot-Woot) Wooten. There are some things that you just have to see to believe. And believe me, I will go see these guys every opportunity I have to do so!!! I recommend the same to all who read this. Chick Corea Electric Band: When you've aged in the public limelight there is a reason for it; you (Chick Corea) are a phenomenon! And your well picked supporting musicians; John Pattitucci (Mr High Energy) on bass Frank Gambale shredding on his guitars Eric Marienthal on sax (also amazing), and... Dave Weckl drumming with the speed and accuracy of any fusion drummer I've ever seen... All playing key roles of supportive, and stand alone musicianship. I would go see any of them (together OR as soloist) again and again! Over all, a very fulfilling night of completely satisfying entertainment. Including the final jam that included all members of both bands on stage that included side by side duels and a positive rap by Victor Wooten delivering a message of peace love and harmony. Absolutely Beautiful!!

These fellows haven't lost it. They were amazing. We dragged two teenage boys along and they were spell bound. I was not aware of Stanley Clark before we went to the show. He is a genius on the standup bass. Lenny had everyone in the audience wondering how he did it. Chick Corea - well - he's a legend. His fingers are nimble and his compositions interesting. All three of these musicians played with the time expertly. It was a pleasure and a surprise.

The Corea, Clarke, White trio was in outstanding form. They played some classic Return to Forever songs and a few others. Chick Corea was great as always and White was solid on drums, however, Stanley Clarke stole the show with his "world's best bass player" work. He clearly stands above what many consider the best (Pastorious, Flea, Claypool, Wooten) and on an acoustic upright, no less!

It was great to see the legends again. I saw RTF last year, and this show was exactly what I expected it to be. To be close enough to hear the instuments instead of the PA was great, along with being able to hear their conversations with each other between songs. They all were great, but it was especially cool to see Lenny's techniques so closely. A once in a lifetime opportunity I was glad to recieve.

It's hard not to dig talent at the level of this group. On the other hand, the lack of audience communication was high. Because of that, with all the material as exciting as you would expect, there was an air of 'let's play this gig and move on.' Good stuff with not much of an afterglow,.

A Wonderful night of music. 3 Virtuosos performing superbly. The nuances and dynamic interplay among the three made for a magnificent performance. They are extremely in tune with and supportive of each other. Each musical piece is a collaboration in which they allow each other equal time for expression. A performance of absolute pleasure to the ear.

Let me start out by saying that I hope it was nothing more than an example of the economy that I was able to get 2-for-1 tickets, 13th row, center section, two days before the show....it would be a shame if the sparse crowd was more a reflection of the tastes of the area.... Anyway, this was the third time in the last few years that I've seen Chick Corea play here and he is without a doubt, the standard that all piano players should be judged against, jazz, rock, whatever the genre....he is a virtuoso in every sense of the word....as a matter of fact, I had to look up virtuoso in the dictionary to make sure I was spelling it correctly (don't want to come across as igorant or as not being able to speak Engrish here) and wouldn't you know it, there was Chick's picture next to the definition....I play keyboards some and I will NEVER be able to get over how this guy's fingers just glide alll over the keyboard and it seems like EVERY note he plays has a reason behind it.... Stanley Clarke is an amazing musician!!..I've been going to concerts for almost 40 years and I usually attend 12- 15 concerts/yr still....so I've seen a LOT of bass players and some are really great bass players like I just saw Yes' Chris Squire a couple of months ago.....but very few do much more with the instrument other than play it....with Stanley , you can't help but feel that he has spent his career exploring his bass, constantly searching for something more from it....I don't know about you but I've never heard a bassman get the sounds from their basses that Clarke gets from his....to me, it just shows that he's still looking to grow as a musician and is not just kickin' back and being satisfied with the skills he's already developed....to still be a pioneer after all these years is pretty amazing to me.... Lenny White is without a doubt the best drummer out there PERIOD!!..you can tell that this guy is chompin' at the bit to burst out and crank up the volume but here he is, part of an acoustic trio and having to rein in all that talent....but he was FANTASTIC and I was amazed at how much drive that he and Clarke were able to provide considering nothing was electric.... Overall, the music and musicianship was very impressive and the Orpheum is a great place for these sort of smaller venue shows....I did think it was somewhat odd, however, that they only played an opening set for 1/2 an hour and then took about a 20 minute break....I also thought the 2nd set was rather short as well and they did just the one oncore, the infamous "Spain"....maybe it was just me wanting more but I thought the program was on the short-side....

Corea, Clarke & White came out with more of a club vibe than the laboriously rehearsed, super-structured set presented by RTF a few months earlier. The two sets included standards, Corea classics, and a few new compositions. The loose, at times playful feel was evident from the beginning, but never detracted from the musical tightness and high degree of group empathy. Chick's genius was evident throughout, and the others got their chance to shine--Stanley with his two-fisted tour-de-force that pretty much covered every technique possible on the string bass, and Lenny with his explosive extended solo on "Senor Mouse." The enthusiastic crowd received an encore for their raucous ovation, his classic "Spain" (what else?), that also got the non-standard treatment. The well-meaning catcalls from the audience indicated that this was not a hard-core jazz crowd, but who cares--the trio laughed it off, and it just goes to show the broad appeal of these top notch musicians. It was music-making of the highest order.

Great show. It was about 50-50 between older Corea/RTF material and other songs. It was all good, but it was clear the crowd preferred the familiar fare. There seemed to be some sound problems at first especially with the drums, but thankfully that was sorted out by the end of the first set.

It's always great to be able to sit in a room with guys that are real masters such as these guys. Also nice was to be able to see these guys play in an acoustic setting. Although, I was really hoping to hear these guys play some of the electric stuff, as well. I was fortunate enough to see RTF at The Dodge last year. I suppose I just wanted more of that performance.

These are 3 of the most talented jazz men in each of their respective instruments. And together their personal friendship and musical affinity is evident from the first note. Stanley Clarke simply owns the acoustic base like no one ever has and maybe ever will. He is simpy remarkable! The only disappointment was i could have listened all night and it felt a little short (about 90 minutes) to me.

I will admit - I am biased. I have loved listening to Chick Corea since the mid 1970s. This performance did not disappoint one bit. The opening act was Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. I will admit that I have never heard them before but they were a good opening act. Sort of a cross between blue grass and jazz with a very enjoyable back beat

Great show! Chick Corea is a keyboard master, and a giant in the world of jazz & fusion. His past couple tours showcased his acoustic side, but this tour brought back his Elektric Band. I've only seen him once before, five years ago on a reunion tour of his Return To Forever band. Last night's show was a homecoming of sorts for him (he was born in Chelsea MA). A talent like Chick is able to bring together amazing musicians for his band. Frank Gambale was on guitar; he's great (saw him at that Return to Forever show in 2011). The sax player (Eric Marienthal) and drummer (Dave Weckl) were real good. But the bass player (John Patitucci) blew me away, sick jams! With the encore, a good two hour show ... 120 minutes of improvisation jamming. Loved it!

Chick is very amusing, and has such incredible stamina and superb style. Dave is every bit as badass a drummer as Buddy Rich was, even toward the last couple of years of his life. Frank's licks were delicious. Eric played those reed winds like it was nothing; he was able to put out all that air without passing out, and if I would have tried to play half that time, I would have passed out from exhaustion. John's bass playing, even acoustic, were lightning speed. Overall, these are five world class experts in their craft. I was waiting for "Got a Match" throughout the entire show, and then they said goodnight and left the stage. Of course the house lights never returned after they went off stage, so I knew they'd be back for a finale. Well then Chick had a great time with the audience participation; mimicking a series of notes that he would pop off, I participated gladly. I assume he's done this before, but this was my first time seeing this well loved band. Then it happened...they went into the opening phrase of the song I was hoping for, and the crowd and I went nuts! I think that had to be about 14 minutes long, and it was the best rendering of that piece that I ever had the pleasure of hearing.

Three quarters of the world's greatest jazz/fusion musicians truly did not disappoint...in fact, these cats are better than ever...incredible melodies, syncopations, and by far the best solos one can ever witness at a live event...They continue to amass a stong gathering of endearing fans..Fathers are bringing their children to experience musicianship at it's finest...it is incredible to see a host of young fans (ages 12 thru 20) become transformed into jazz cats!!! I own all of the Return to Forever vinyls so I knew what to expect. Having said that. Let's start with getting there and parking, it was easy, no traffic in or out to speak of and plenty of parking within walking distance. The concert started on time and to see that grand piano, double bass and drum set on the stage was exciting. No sound effects tonight. Just three of the best jazzmen and their respective extension of themselves. Chick Corea warmed up with a few scales and allowed Stanley Clark to check the tuning of his instrument, double basses are sensitive instruments, big yet delicate. There is no question about the technical abilities these musicians have, but they are the greatest at incorporating them in to wonderful tenuous atmospheres. As Stanley and Chick harmonized Lenny White kept them on time like a mean watch dog. What a generous subservient drummer Mr. White proves to be again and again. As Chick and Stanley exuberantly delivered unbelievable scales Lenny's drums kept saying "you aren't going anywhere kids, you're staying with me." Stanley solos were a bass player's dream - I want to do that, and worse nightmare - how do I get there uncle Stan? The highlight of the concert was undoubtedly their trio rendition of some of the most recognizable Return to Forever tunes. What synchronism in the phraseology between Chick and Staney. Chick Corea may be the most talented, advanced jazz piano player alive, at ease with electric piano as he is with an acoustic one. Lenny is an inventive human metronome. I'm only sorry Al di Meola wasn't there. But hey what a treat on a beautiful fall Buffalo evening at the Center for the Arts. Kudos to the organizers.

Chick Correa said it best when he thanked the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra for collaborating with him on updated arrangements of many of his classics and early works. Correa was engaging and active on the piano while the orchestra and its members (sans W Marsalis) provided ensemble and solo elements that made for beautiful music. As a frequent attendee at LCJO concerts, I was pleased that each member of the orchestra had one or more opportunities to step up for solos and that many of the orchestra members participated in arranging the pieces for this presentation. Finally, the Genesee Theatre is wonderful - a gem in downtown Waukegan - beautifully restored, fine acoustics, easy access and parking and good sight lines. Looking forward to going back!

Chick Corea and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra have a unique rapport, respect and love for one another that is evident from the moment they step onto the stage together and it is elevated on the first notes they play together. The city of Waukegan was treated to a performance that would have been at home on the stages of Carnegie Hall or Symphony Center. Every one of the musicians on stage was among the best in the world at this moment in time, and many have rewarding careers as leaders as well as sidemen. This was a delightful performance deserving of the three standing ovations it received.

I'm not even sure why I'm writing this review. Do you really think that a double bill with Chick Corea and Béla Fleck would be anything but phenomenal? Well, it was phenomenal, and then some. Béla Fleck and the Flecktones played first, for about an hour-and-a-quarter. Fifteen minute intermission, then Chick Corea Electric Band did a set for another 1:15. Next, a duet between Chick and Béla, followed by a 25-minute finale with both bands combined, with corresponding instruments trading solos (i.e. Victor Wooten vs. John Patitucci, Futureman vs. Dave Weckl, etc.). It was three hours of the best jazz you're likely to find with the current occupants of planet Earth. But you probably knew that before reading this review.

The house sound mix for Future Man's ELECTRONIC BASS PERCUSSION instrument nearly destroyed Bela Fleck's set; even drowned out the much of Victor Wooten's superb ELECTRIC BASS GUITAR work. VERY DISSAPOINTING! Chick Corea's set was AMAZING. Would give 5 stars for the artist's performances and half a star for the house sound mix for Bela Fleck's set....

Saturday night's Chick Corea concert was much more than I expected. I have been a Corea fan since the days of Return to Forever back in the 70's, but haven't followed him in a while, so I didn't know exactly what to expect. Well, when I found out just before the show who his band mates were, I was crazy excited, as Dave Weckl is one of the world's great drummers-maybe the best I have ever seen-and Frank Gambale is one of the world's great guitar players that no one has ever heard of, and it doesn't get better with John Patatucci on bass, along with Eric Marianthal on sax. Mind blowing! These guys-along with Chick, of course- are masterclass musicians, and their musicianship was on full display for the entire three hour show. Chick is approaching 80-he's 76-and he hasn't lost his fiery touch. Perfect weather, and we had the run of the place. Whew!

The opportunity to see the original members of bands led by virtuosos Bela Fleck and Chick Corea on the same bill was unforgettable. Bela's set was upbeat and eclectic and featured the incomparable musicianship (and humor) of Howard Levy and the incomparable Victor Wooten. Chick's set included a well chosen variety although a bit more programatic jazz with each song starting out with the group, an extended solos by each artist and a group finale. Each member of the Electrik Band was truly outstanding. Frank Gambale makes the guitar look like a toy in his hands, Eric Marienthal's sax work was powerful and rangy and bassist John Patitucci rivaled Victor. The finale with each musician from each band competing with his respective colleague was really fun to watch.

The show was simply amazing! Starting with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and then Chick and the Elektric band they jammed like no one else that you can go to see these days. The level of talent on stage blew my mind. I saw Return to Forever years ago and have been a fan of the Chick Corea Elektric Band since first hearing them in the late 80's. This is arguably one of the greatest groups of musicians ever put together. Each of them is a virtuoso in their own right and they are a pleasure to watch. We had front row tickets, which allowed us to really see the band interact with each other. They were all funny guys and entertaining. My only complaint, and the reason for 4 stars, was that they only played for two hours, this is including the encore. This would have been fine, if they had brought an opening act or something. I don't think anyone there was ready for the show to be over so quickly. As far as the venue is concerned, Carolina Theatre is one of my favorite places to see a concert. I have been here a couple of times. It is a small intimate place and there really isn't a bad seat anywhere.

I first heard Chick play about forty-five years ago during the Return to Forever years. He blew me away so much then that I reached back into his earlier discography and have followed him ever since, in person and on vinyl, digital and video--and, when I was lucky, in an occasional live performance. I am, admittedly a fan. So I went to this event expecting to be very pleased. Considering that Chick is turning seventy-five, though, I thought it might be mostly a nostalgic trip. I was happy to be very wrong in the very best way--new, incredibly talented band and, though all the best elements persist in full measure, new Chick, too. Surprised, delighted, and fulfilled is how I felt as they played and long after, when I hit the street with their sound in my head for hours after. Wow! I'll focus on the band for a minute. John Patitucci is just incredible!--and the joy he exudes as he plays a very athletic bass, both electric and stand-up acoustic, offers echoes of the great Jaco. John himself would mute that compliment, since he holds the man in such high esteem, but close your eyes, conjure an image of a stocking cap or a headband as you listen to him play and I think you'll hear what I did. Amazing! Complimenting Patitucci's driving bass rhythms is Dave Weckl's flawless, risky but sure-handed work on the drums. This is no surprise to those who know him but God is he good! Their constant conversation is the backbone of this unbelievably tight band. They will keep you on the edge of your seat with your foot tapping while the rest of the gang brings it over the top. Frank Gambale really cooks on his guitars--again, both acoustic and electric (for an "Electric" band, they sure play acoustic instruments well!)--but he cooks with cool heat. His left hand glides on that neck like he's taking a walk under a sky full of shooting stars. He's easy to follow, yet he'll take you to places you'd never reach alone. I came home and picked up my own guitar that night, then I smiled and put it down. What was still in my head was better than I was going to produce. Let it go. Thanks, Frank. Eric Marienthal plays some great sax in the center of all this. That night I particularly loved his work on the soprano, which flew above and sang over the complex talk that was going on among the other players. The guy really wails when he talks back! Finally, there's Chick himself--a funny, whimsical, yet deeply spiritual master who has not only not lost a step from his prodigious beginnings back in the 60s, but he has continued to grow as an artist ever since. His whole range, both musical and spiritual, was on display that night. Here, words just fail. Go listen! There is simply no one like him--and that has never been more true. So, yeah, I liked these guys. Their virtuosity and their joy in performing produced an answering joy in me. See them if you can.

Chick was of course genius. Weckl if possible maybe even better Than ever one of the greatest drummers of all time. They hadn't played together in 20 plus years and they had a ball. The biggest surprise me was Pattatucci. Some of his bass solos were from another planet. Incredible. Also watching Chick having a bit of trouble getting the synthesizers sounds the way he wanted was cool. Because he basically helped invent them. However once that was done the magic was bouncing and grooving all night. Must see if you're lucky enough to catch this brief reunion tour.

Dreadful seating aside (Wilbur Theater) should have paid me to sit in them, will not rush back. It was a pleasure to experience a master (and Band) that deliver a performance so effortlessly. Judging by the reaction of the crowd I am not alone. All the band members gifted in their own right, synchronized into a music machine. They seemed to be having fun, which made it great fun for everyone!

Anyone who has followed Chick Corea's career over the years knows how he is capable of reinvention, even with something as familiar as this particular lineup of bandmates and the complex compositions he has prepared for each of the recording projects they have done over the years. But there is nothing like seeing these musicians live to hear how they kick this material into high gear. The material they performed was much the same as the playlist on the Live in Montreaux dvd, drawn from a sampling of their earlier albums, Eye of the Beholder, Beneath the Mask, To the Stars and the original CCEB album. Suffice to say they are very familiar with this music. So, armed with that familiarity (and couple it with a few more years of maturation) they proceeded to take this music to places I never dreamed possible. The communication was unparalleled between these five as they seamlessly weaved between the written and improvised sections of the music, almost as if they were one mind. This is the result of a lifelong musical association as well as simply being together on tour. This is how this music was meant to be performed. Yes, there are some sophisticated musical egos involved but the manner in which these egos are synergized makes the difference. The common goal is the collective musical masterpiece and Chick, Eric, John, Frank and Dave pulled it off quite naturally and effortlessly. One of, if not the best, concerts I have ever experienced.

Chick Corea's Elektric Band was a great concert in every way. The small venue of the Carolina Theatre in Durham, NC made it up close and personal, and Chick brought the audience in all the more. The band consists of the best of the best musicians, and the repertoire they played showed off the great talent of each member well. One of the most talented groups of musicians I've seen in one group in all my 40+ years of attending concerts!

This show was amazing. Right on time, the two artists walk out onto the stage, sit down and play. No pomp and circumstance needed. Their individual talents are extraordinary but together it is something else entirely. Chick Corea can make the piano sound like a stand up bass while Bela Fleck makes a banjo sound like a piano. Seriously out of this world and I don't even have to mention the venue...it's the RYMAN! The show was about two hours with one short break. Perfect timing in my opinion.

This felt a bit like eavesdropping on a conversation between two old friends, very comfortable. Not that Chick Corea's playing loses its edgy quality, reminding us that the piano is a stringed instrument and sometimes a percussion instrument. So in Chick & Bela's Piano Bar, the piano takes on a staccato quality and the voice becomes a banjo.

Chick Corea and Bela Fleck are two of the most accomplished musicians on the planet. They turned in a great set that spanned genres from jazz to bluegrass to classical. If this review were only of the show, it would be five stars easily. Unfortunately there were a couple of problems. The Wilbur is an old theater. The seats have less legroom than a budget airline seat. It was also really hot in there. These things definitely detracted from my enjoyment of the concert. But not as much as the man we had the misfortune of sitting next to. At a concert featuring jazz and classical music, people don't generally react loudly during songs. Not this guy. His loud "uhs" and "yeahs" along with his vigorous fist pumping and loud comments to his neighbors definitely detracted from the show.

I've been listening to Chick Corea since the 1970's and Bela Fleck since the 1990's. Both are amazing musicians. Both virtuosos are equally comfortable improvising within multiple musical genre - progressive jazz, blue grass, classical, pop tunes. A really nice set list to showcase their talents. Also, the venue was very comfortable with plenty of leg room and good acoustics. it was a relief to leave the concert with my hearing intact and not ringing for the next 4 days. Overall, a very pleasurable evening with 2 great musicians.

Two mastermind virtuosos! Amazing performance by these two musical geniuses. While some might consider this combo and performance eclectic, these two gents can play. I have been a Chick fan for decades and he NEVER disappoints. His complex mind and techniques as well as compositions are truly remarkable. Variety of Bela, Chick and other composer's pieces played. I enjoyed the fun commentary by both of them between most songs. A great performance in all respects. Despite the title of their latest album "Two" this performance was a case where 1+1=3!!!!

I've seen Chick Corea a few times, and you never know how it will be. Tonight he was on point and having a good time. He played beautifully with Bela Fleck. They played a nice variety of songs. Bela was great as usual. Unfortunately, the venue was very unpleasant. It was very hot and I'm usually cold. My husband actually had to leave to cool off a few times because it was too hot. They closed the bar before intermission and they prohibit the drinks they sell you to be brought back to your seat. Why even have a bar if you can't watch the show with your drink and it closes so early! I will not be going back to Town Hall NYC any time soon, but I would see Bela Fleck and Chick Corea again.

4 Days after the Chick Corea & Vigil show and still I'm going back to it and wondering how did they do what they did? There were moments where I was simply overwhelmed by the performance. I just closed my eyes and let the band take me to their world. All this without any help from Mr Green. They played through the intermission and they played after the house lights were turned on to mark the end of the rental time. I was introduced to Mr Corea through the Return to Forever albums 30 some years ago I'm flash backing and smiling just thinking about the show as I write this. Truly a moment in time I will not forget for a long time.

Bela Fleck and Chick Corea--two stunning virtuosi on their respective instruments, making music-making seem instinctive, joyous, playful, stunningly heartfelt, and impossibly unlimited! It was truly a revelation to be in the live company of these two--and they were LIVE. Warm, personable, without affectation, pretense, hype, or cleverness--they simply had a wonderful time with each other and with the packed Royce Hall audience at UCLA. Palpable warmth in the audience, affection in waves of approval toward the stage. I have never seen two super stars less focused on the way they appeared, came across, or related to us, the audience. They simply shared their music, with a minimum of fuss or chat. Unbelieveable talent and dedication--you sense and understand all that rationally. But emotionally, it was all a musical joy fest, with playful challenges between the two, and off-the-cuff remarks to the audience. It was a privilege to be in that audience, a memory for life.

I was familiar with Choc Corea. I was intrigued by Bela Fleck. As a lifelong jazz fan, "Banjo" isn't a word that excites me as much as "Tombone", "Hammond B-3" or "Saxophone". I was memorized by these incredible musicians and the repoire that they shared. I SAW a banjo in the arms of Bela Fleck. I HEARD a sitar, a harp, a guitar and a voice. Chic and Bela essentialialy transcended into a unique genre that I still can't define. Their treatment of the Stevie Wonder modern classic "overjoyed" was amazing. The audience with musically filled bellies insisted on an encore. This was a Fabulous night of music!

We expected him to play "Spain" and more Jazz, this was not the case. I would recommend to musicians and piano enthusiast. He has embark on new creative path. His talent with the piano is a true gift and his creativity with it genius, we had never seen this before and it was interesting , the children songs were boring after the 3rd composition along with some of his . So for us old Jazz Fans it was not for us.

Don't really need to say much about CC as a musician - he is an incredible artist and the music was FABULOUS. What made this evening special was Chick Corea the human being. He was so personable - and the energy he brought was incredibly warm, inviting, and generous. I felt as tho I had been invited into his living room for an evening of music. I have to believe that everyone who attended this concert literally floated out of the theater as I did. One of the most moving and exciting happenings of the evening was his invitation to two young musicians to play with him, their performances were outstanding and it was lovely to be in the presence of an accomplished artist's generosity. He also created musical portraits for two members of the audience (I was fortunate to be one of them) and for an long time Boston friend (from 1st grade) and one of his nieces.

The first half was short-form improvisations on various standards. Chick was in a great mood and conversed with the audience between each piece. He name-dropped, introduced other musicians in the audience, and gave short homages to various musicians. The second half included having two young audience volunteers try to do 4 hand improv with him. The first was superb. They interacted as if they'd played together before. The second had good chops but didn't move much from a single theme and didn't interact as much. He then invited two people up to have him compose a musical portrait of them (one at a time). These were whimsical and interesting. He then talked about his local roots and introduced family and long-time friends. He had two come up for a joint musical portrait. He did around 6 of his wonderful Childrens' Songs (I have the vinyl album from the 70s). As encores, he had his wife come out and sing "You're Everything". Her voice was weak, but her intonation, feel, and repartee with Chick were superb. Chick was grinning ear to ear and it showed in his playing. What an inspiration of companionship and musicianship. The second encore was Richard Stoltzman (?) on clarinet doing a wonderful long-form improv with Chick which resolved into "Someday Your Prince will Come" which Chick's wife joined in on. The 3 of them traded solos and just had a blast.
