Lucky we were to witness this show. History will remember these fellows forever. Music was great . Great that Honeyboy had the energy to sign posters after the show. Just grateful that we had good tickets. Nicew to get the entire group to do an encore!

The show with Honey boy Edwards and Hubert Sumlin was good and bad last night. The head guy is a guy called Big Head Todd, a story said he fell for the blues lately and got hooked. Lately?! Geez. There was some dude on second lead that to me was very disrespectful to the music. I think he was Lightnin Malcolm, not sure. A white dude wearing khakis, white sneakers and a orange ti-dye tee shirt looked like he strolled in from his day job at BestBuy. I was insulted but that fact that these impostors where out there in a Robert Johnson tribute. I guess being from Chicago spoiled me to real Blues artist. The only great thing was seeing a 95 year young Honeyboy, really hitting it with everything he has, a true entertainer. Hubert pit it all out there, even with his lung issue. Those guys are truly a treasure. Amazing.

What an incredible concert ~ with the emotional impact that can only come from witnessing the craft of legendary Bluesmen Honeyboy Edwards and Hubert Sumlin. But there was more! Big Head Todd is a talented and gracious individual who gave generously of his time and stage for these legends to perform. And what a surprise ~ when Steven Johnson, grandson of Robert Johnson strode on the stage! He sang 3 songs at the 'urging' of Todd and delivered them with passion and pride. Lightning Malcom grooves like no other guitarist I've seen and was equally respectful and courteous to his elders. Talk about Cedric Burnside slapping the skins! A ferocious drummer by any standard. This concert is not to be missed ... I feel blessed to have witnessed such performances.
