We were at B.B. King Blues Club to see the headliner Jeffrey Gaines. He was great as expected. He put on a great show just a little short because he had two openning acts and had to be off stage because of a show beginning at 11:00. The problem was that there was a large group there that came to see the openning act, including the guys wife. After the openning act was done this group started talking over the second act and continued throughout Jeffrey Gaines' show. They were very annoying and made it more difficult to hear. More than one person even asked them to be quieter. I give Jeffrey Gaines five stars but the show only gets four because of the venue.

Amazing venue, very small and intimate. Was able to sit by the stage and speak to the artist afterwards.

The sound could have been a bit better. The mic was a little heavy on the 1.5k-3 k range for me.

cafe 939 is one of the nicest music venues in boston. it is small, clean and acoustically wonderful. jeffrey gaines was his usual funny, tender, humble self. he's an inspirational singer/songwriter. absolutely fabulous evening. i only hope that he never gets too famous to play small venues like 939!
