In a small intimate venue I got to see a legend perform. I could not help but wonder how a city as populous as Dallas could have so few people at this venue. They missed seeing a bit of history. Coco could have done a hand full of songs and gone on his way but he didn't. Every song just got better. He acknowledged the audience, was grateful for their attention, and also brought up a local friend (Mike Morgan) of his for about fifteen minutes of singing, soloing and a serious blues jam session. Fantastic. Many of you missed it, I however did not.

I am so pleased with Deanna Bogart that I just had to add this tidbit. The day after the concert in Reading I was compelled to listen to some old Jerry Lee Lewis records. After listening to several of his best I realized that Deanna had sounded a lot like he did in his heyday. Keep up the great piano work Deanna, you have a fan for life.

I have seen Deanna Bogart a number of times and she and whatever band she's performing with is awesome. This show was no exception. Her set was great as always and when Coco Montoya asked her to come back on stage with her sax the magic was created. It took just a short while til they got into a groove, but it was an awesome groove. Coco is one of the finest guitar players I've ever seen. He can play with great ferocity and scale it down til you can hear a pin drop while he's fondling those strings. He's got a great voice and sense of humour to boot. Catch these two if you can-wherever!

The Deanna Bogart Band and Coco Montoya's Band for me was two headliners in one very good show. Coco Montoya and Deanna Bogart was a high energy very good show. Deanna was first and she set a tone that Coco kept up with when he came on. Both did the favorites that I wanted to hear and the new ones were very exciting to hear. The highlight for me was when Deanna with her sax joined Coco for a couple songs. The result was a very intense and very good pairing. The interplay between Coco's guitar and Deanna's sax was the one of the best I have ever heard.

Very Good show. First time seeing Coco Montoya and he is a lot of fun. Really kept the show exciting. Opening act was Deanna Bogart and she was great as usual. Fun to see. The Inn at Reading is nice in being a relatively small venue, but it is just a ballroom with a stage at one end and visibility is not great.

Three hours of music from two true pros! The highlight of the evening was an impromptu jam with Deanna delivering a smoking sax solo to counter Coco's guitar mastery. It was thrilling and a true testament to how much musicians of this genre respect each other and their fans .They definitely delivered, not like rock stars who run and hide in their limos they interract with people ,sign autographs and basically if they have time ,acknowledge the people who support them. Long live the blues!

Unfortunately my wife and i were not able to make this event, we live about 4 hours from Reading and could not travel this past weekend. We just saw Coco at the Birchmenre last month and he was fantastic, strong solos with that upside down stringset and great tone and his voice was powerful. The man is a true bluesman and artist. And by the way, his drummer is from another planet, incredible. As for Deanna B., we have seen her dozens of times and she is one of the most talented musicians you can ever have the pleasure of seeing live. We will see her next weekend as part of the Legendary Rythm and Blues Review with T. Castro, J.Johnson, and Debbie Davies, who can really percolate the blues. Sorry I cannot report of the Reading show last night, I am sure it was off the hook.

Deanna as opener was awesome as usual. We met her in restroom prior to show, had a great conversation with her. Coco was fabulous & very outgoing during his show. I love listening to him play the guitar. Will see him again in June or July at a venue close to where I live. Great Show!!!!!!

Saw Coco at the Rhythm Room in Phoenix last night. Have not seen him for several years, and was not disappointed. His band has changed over the years, but the unmistakable sound of this left-handed guitar wizard can still bring tears to your eyes and joy to your heart. Three hours of pure emotion played on his unique Fender Stratocaster (with left-handed body, upside-down right-handed neck and a reversed string order) reminded me of nobody... except Coco himself. Obvsiously influenced by many fine guitarists over the years, his style and rare setup and playing method produce a sound to be savored, and impossible to replicate. If I seem to gush with enthusiasm, I am to be forgiven. He is special to say the least. With a few new and largely unrehearsed cuts from his soon to be released 'I Want It All Back' and a fine blend of many of his past recordings, we were treated to a night to remember. I highly recommend you find time to see Coco, who promises to keep playing until it's time for his 'Dirt Nap'.

As usual, Coco and his band just tore up the stage. From rocking to sobbing, the guy has it all going on. His rendition of Mind to Travel was mind blowing. Bears Den is THE place to see him! We were lucky to have front row center, although there isn't a bad seat in the house. Acoustics/sound are incredible. This is the second year in a row that we saw him and hoping like hell he comes again next year-if he does-don't miss it!

The only disappointment was that more people didn't come. Maybe it was the weather or lack of getting it out there. All I know it's people missed a great time. I've loved Eric Gales since Experience Hendrix. Once again he exceeded expectation. I became a fan of others like zsean Chambers,I had not heard before. The food was good. The security was appropriate and we'll come. I can'twait until next year!

The festival was awesome. All bands we're very good especially Sean Chambers and Coco Montoya. The turn out was probably affected by adverse weather. Anyone who was planning on going and decided not missed a great night of quality live music! Great value for the price also.

The Bear's Den is "hands down" the absolute best venue in the area to hear a band. Not a bad seat in the house and you are almost on top of the stage. If we should be so lucky to have Coco Montoya return to the Seneca casino, next year, I would recommend that you get your tickets early. If you are a blues lover.........DO Not MISS THIS SHOW! Coco is an incredible guitar player and vocalist.

There is nothing better than seeing Coco live. He is a true master of his craft. It will be the best 2 hours of music you have heard in a long while. And if you can not make his show you have to get his latest and first live CD, then for sure you will want to see him in person.

This guy is a genius. He is a technical wizard. But beyond that.......he moves you with his playing and vocals. I've seen a lot of guitarists that are technically genius but am left without a visceral feeling. Not Coco! He touched me on an emotional level that only a few other musicians ever had (Van Morrison's singing is one). I don't understand why he is not as famous as Clapton as he is every bit as technically good. And he is full of heart. I love this guy. I will never miss one of his shows.

Coco Montoya as absolutely one of the best bluesman touring today. He is a great showman, has voice that is giant, and, oh, yeah, plays the guitar with delicate majesty that must be experienced. He ran through just about every style of blues tat can be imagined, and did it with complete confort and control. He band we with him every note, executing this dream with absolute precision and dexterity, it was truly a magnificent performance From the whispers part - the band was played so quiet and beautiful, that we could whisper to each other and hear everything. To the twister, where the band rocked so hard you couldn't breath, it was a phenomenal night of entertainment. The dynamics this band displayed was equivalent to a symphony orchestra. Dynamics are a lost art in today's music. Thank you Coco for remembering that silence is as important as the noise. You make Miles Davis proud!

This was my 5th Coco concert at the Tralf and if he were playing next weekend, I would go again. Unlike some bands where every song sounds the same, Coco and the boys mix it up between hard drivin blues and mellow technical guitar licks. I get the feeling that Coco really enjoys playing the Tralf and the warm reception he gets from the crowd that obviously appreciates the quality of music he produces. I forgot the tics at home and by the time we traveled the 30 miles back to Buffalo we did not get our regular "middle of the room" seats. We found seats next to the wall that seemed to make the music too loud. The Tralf is my favorite venue as the sound guys know their stuff. Coco -5 star. My seats -3 star. Overall experience 4 star.

Never been to the Coach House in Capistrano before and man, I can't wait to go back. The place rocks. We had dinner there before the show - filet mignon followed by apple pie ala mode. Had some drinks, sat less than eight feet from the stage and enjoyed really hot blues licks coming from three bands for almost four hours (show tickets were just $15)! The headliner - Coco Montoya - was so hot that his singing and guitar playing nearly burned down the place! How I ever missed this guy for so long, I'll never figure it out. You have to hear and see him to appreciate what I'm saying. He's a left-handed guitar player - learned to play from the legendary Albert Collins - but he plays a right handed guitar upside down! He's so darn good he used to be the lead guitarist for John Mayalls' Blues Breakers Band - for ten years! Montoya's riffs and jamming with his group would stand up to any of the great blues guitarists I've ever seen or heard and I've seen and heard quite a few in person, from Clapton to Mayall, to Buddy Guy, BB King, Robert Cray, Jonny Lang and George Thorogood. Coco holds his own. And his voice . . . man, it ranges from the rough, done me dirty, hurts so bad-bluesy to the smoooooth as silk. He switches gears, one song after other. I don't know how he does it. After the show, he heads to the front of the place and hawks his CDs, but more importantly, he is soft-spoken, humble and gracious with his fans, having a genuinely warm personality. A terrific way to spend a Friday night.
