Unlike US Football, Soccer moves very quickly, in fact so fast if you don't arrive early you will miss most of the game. No timeouts and just one 15 minute break at the half. The lines for food were beyond long, food grossly over priced. The seats were great lots of room, great view, no blind spots. However for the price you pay, this event is too fast to get the full benefit of $$$ (just 90 minutes long). The crowds were exciting to watch. Spent an hour trying to leave the parking lot. Overall on a scale of 1-10 10 being outstanding I give the entire event a 6

The seats were great! Got some shade on a hot day and saw some great football action. The only downfall was the walk from the metro to the stadium, what happened to the bus rides from the metro?!?!? All in all, amazing action and great to see the best football player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The energy was incredible! Everyone was so pumped for the match. It was nice to have Real Madrid and DC United fans confused as I was. I didn't know which team to root for. I love them both! Seems a lot of people there had the same problem. The one thing I didn't like was all the Anti-Ronaldo people. Seriously chill out. Almost all of the people who were speaking ill of him just sounded dumb because they had no basis for their bad-mouthing except jealousy. Overall the game was AMAZING!

I'm pretty sure it was the crowd of 72,386 that made it more exciting than a typical MLS game but we sure had fun. Great seats in the shade made all the difference on a day that reached high 90's.

Real Madrid and DC United were both awesome! It was great to see such good opponents and an unforgettable match! The only complaint I have is the Shuttle Buses advertised on FedEx feild's website (how to get there) were not available. We had to spend an extra $25 to get a cab ride to the stadium. If I had known that, I would have drove! Also, can't control the weather, but it was a *hot* day! Still, an amazing game!

The game itself was enjoyable, but some factors worked against it: -the heat. Why not schedule soccer games at 9pm during August? -access to the stadium was very bad, and many people missed the beginning of the game as a result and blocking the views of those already there. Getting away was equally slow. -loud blaring music before the game and during the break was unbearable, particularly for those in the upper ring.

Can the Americans host a soccer event? Yes! Overall a great day! The stadium was easily accesible and the club level facilities were out of this world! I'm originally from England and have never seen automatic doors at a stadium before (we even took a picture of the doors!)The seats we had were right at the front and in the shade, so we couldn't have picked better if we'd tried. The game was entertaining, but if you could do something about the temperature of the sun that would be great! :-) The only thing missing are the amenities in the area - no bars or restaurants. Also the restaurants in the ground close when the games finishes - lots of people were looking for something to eat after the game, so you could have made a fortune on hospitality. Overall a great experience; thoroughly recommeded; and we'll be back!

I thoroughly enjoyed the game yesterday. It was extremely hot but our seats were in the shade and we were right by the doors on the club seating floor so every time the door opened we got a blast of air condititoning. I loved being able to see some of my favorite European soccer players!

The game was great, but the incompetence at the stadium as staggering. We stood a huge throng of people, in 100 degree heat, waiting to get in while a bunch of disinterested "staff" in yellow Tshirts stood there and stopped the line, allowing one person at a time through. When a female was next, the whole line had to stop while Mr. Security had to call for a female staff member to come and pat her down. It's a stadium for God's sake, why are these people not prepared to deal with a crowd??? I'd go watch Real Madrid again, BUT I WOULD NOT GO BACK TO FEDEX FIELD.

The game itself was fine, but we were shocked at how unprepared the people at FedEx Field seemed to be for the large crowd. You would think they'd know how to handle large crowds from the Redskins games. We waited nearly 30 minutes to get in the gate, for no apparent reason except perhaps understaffing. Everyone seemed to be directed to the same gate, and it's not clear whether they had fewer gates open than usual, or just didn't bother to tell people to use other gates for entrance.

Real Madrid showed just how infererior our MLS teams are Sunday by easily handling one of the better MLS teams, DC United. The goals were "casual" goals. Ronaldo only played one half and Kaka only played 66 minutes. The MLS has come a long way, but this event clearly showed just how far we have yet to come. (by the way, Real Madrid embarrassed Toronto 5-1 two days earlier) I saw Chelsea vs AC Milan in Baltimore two weeks prior, THAT was a very good game. Better venue and entertainment.

This was a really good game, the kind of football (soccer as some may prefer to call it) that Europe is known for, right in our backyard. Both teams showed great football skill, but at the end, DC United won. One of the best moments of the game was the DC United free-kick, which was marvelously bent around the wall. The kind of free-kick from C. Ronaldo and Beckam, just amazing. I was on my foot the entire time. Great football, we need more games like this. Go DC United!!!

Overall, it was a great event. Getting to it and parking were a breeze! The amenities are excellent especially on the club level. If I had anything to criticize then it would be the lack of shade on the stands. We had 97F+ temperature which felt like 120F in the sun. Having the game played during the hottest part of the day didn't help either.

It's great seeing the United at the soccerplex. You get so close to the action and the players. Of course, not all of the usual starters play or even make the trip. On the other hand, some hang out in the stands and all are gracious signing autographs and posing for pictures. Both times we've attended, mydaughter was in heaven siwth some of her favorite players and heartthrobs. The facility is very conveninent to us Maryland fans. I'd suggest two upgrades-the ticketing system, which doesn't include a seating diagram or ability to choose seats, and the sounds sytem, which needs a lot of improvement. I'll be back next week for the next round!

Got a good neighborhood spot and had a short walk to the entrance across from the main gate. Not too bad of a line but the gates didn't open on time and when they did it took too long to process people. No paper tickets and see through bags shouldn't cause so much security hassle but once inside all the food and beer sections were nice. Long lines as to be expected so eat beforehand. they had a cool convenience style place where they only had kiosk registers but the speed of going through was halted by having to search through to find your specific items. just scan and go! inside the stadium and field were beautiful. all the seats were in great view of the on field action. the position of the setting sun was bad but oh well. if you go the stairs are steep! overall awesome stadium opening.

Soccer venue is great--pretty, well-maintained but with ok parking space. Game quality was extremely low, with an elevated percentage of air balls. No single player excelled, and the four wingbacks were particularly inept. Players couldn't trap the ball, couldn't carry, and couldn't dribble. Elementary skills were wanting. Game plan of both teams was tedious with no element of surprise. Players were vexed, and as a result the whole game was hectic with an ugly blob of players in midfield.

I had never been to a professional soccer game and wasn't sure what to expect. But I had a fabulous time! Annapolis was an easy drive from DC. The event was very family friendly, the seats VERY comfortable - and it seems, not a bad seat in the house! My only complaint was how difficult it was to get out of the stadium parking. Considering how expensive it was to park there, I'd have thought they'd have had someone directing traffic out of all the exits. Happily the folks leaving were mostly very nice and let other cars out but there was only so much of that possible when pulling out onto the streets. The other thing about parking, the aisles weren't marked so it was difficult to find your car after the game (and it wasn't just us walking around clicking key fobs!) Overall I'd definitely go back - both to that venue and to see DC United play again!

if you pre-sale tickets and advertise that with an adult you get one free child. Realize that when your tickets sales get to a certain amount, you need to hire more people to work, ticket taking, security and parking lot exiting. Was an ok game...not many DC fans, they likely were attending the Paul McCartney concert at Nats Stadium.....many Chivas fans, however... Both teams played 'swarm soccer', didn't do much passing, and 'played' with the ball!! Chivas scored in the last minutes of the game, tying the score 1-1... My grandson (9 yrs old, plays on traveling team in Potomac) was critical of both teams, too...so wasn't just my opinion... The Chivas fans did make it exciting...they're very passionate....

Our seats were very close to the midfield stripe, and the view was fine. The problem was that the seats were way, way back under the overhang, and they were totally in the shade and the wind was blowing through the area the whole time. Even though the temperature was in the low 50's, we were VERY COLD in these seats, and we would have wished for woolly hats, gloves, ski masks, etc.! (If it had been raining, at least we would have been dry.) The soccer game started out slowly and I wondered if the play was going to be much better than the college level. Quality picked up after 10-15 minutes, and the biggest complaint after that was the officiating.

Went to see my beloved Toffees take on DC United on a brutally hot evening. Couldn't pass up on a chance to see my favorite team live, and it was well worth the trip down to DC as Everton did not disappoint the traveling fans. Much as I hate to say it (as I'm also a NYRB supporter), DC played well and made for an entertaining opponent - not to mention that the staff at RFK were wonderful. I hope for the players and home fans that United can get a more modern ground in the near future, as RFK is definitely showing its age. About the seats: The mezzanine at RFK is unlike any seating that I've ever had. It sort of just hangs from the bottom of the upper bowl - seems like it was an afterthought. You reach the mezzanine by a series of catwalks that might make acrophobics feel a bit uneasy. The view was very good (see attached photo) but seat 1 has a bit of a view obstruction (a support post). Sound from the stadium loudspeakers was practically inaudible, so it's worth your while to buy a program or get the roster lists ahead of time.

This was my first time going to a DC United game and the experience was fantastic. The crowd was rocking as evidenced by the shaking of the stands that RFK is known for. I'm looking foward to my next game with fervor.

I sat in Section 216, Row 1, Seat 11 -- at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC. The view was relatively close, however, the view from behind the goal was a little annoying because it was difficult to see the action from awkward angles.

Being able to walk around DC during the day and then take the Metro to the game with all the fans around you was a great experience. Ticket prices were great and the game was very entertaining. I have been a DC United fan since 2003 and even though were not at the same level United is used to being at the game was very competetive and the atmosphere was still amazing with all the fan support. I got Najar's and Edson Buddles autograph, which I think makes the experience even better when you can interact with the players after the game. I would HIGHLY recommend going to a game to anybody and I will hopefully come to many more games in the future!

Fully enjoyed the game. Sat behind the DC United "cheering" squad where they beat a drum and chanted the entire game. It was a treat to see the Portsmouth "faithful" come over at the end of the game and begin to cheer and chant along with the DC United fans. Good exhibition match. My nephew and mentee (who are both soccer players) loved it.

Great concert! I'm so glad I went. He did a wonderful job--- was happy to see him. Wouldn't have gone to the game otherwise. Had never been to a soccer game before and the concert got me there. Was glad I went despite DC United losing. Was fun and I'll probably go back again just for a regular game.

It rained most of the time but overall the game was great. This was my first soccer game and the fans were cheerful. My son also enjoyed the game. we drove 2 hours just to see Beckham play and it was well worth it.

Pretty awesome time attending my first MLS game in the DC area. Although RFK is kind of old, it still boast the excitement attending a sporting event.

Very enjoyable experience. RFK stadium is clearly pretty dated, but the crowd's energy and the food service and variety were excellent, making the game very enjoyable overall. I'd absolutely go again. My kids loved it!

I couldn't see half the field because the big and bigger security guards were blocking my view. They refused to move even after repeated requests throughout the game. I may as well have paid for obstructed view seats even though I was in the second row.

Loved the game and the seats were great. When I bought the tickets I did not think it would be these goods. The tool for the view on each seat is great.

My family are huge soccer fans. All three of our boys play soccer for our school modified and varsity teams. We have even been to see a game in Italy while traveling abroad. I can say definitively that this game was a complete waste of time and money. First, let me say from a stadium viewpoint, that RFK stadium is in complete ruins. This place needs to be torn down and a new stadium rebuilt. I know that there are discussion in the works on this, but it definitely detracts from the experience. Second, the level of soccer was very poor. We ended up choosing this game over a Georgetown college soccer game, and left feeling very disappointed that we missed Georgetown. We are from upstate New York, and have seen several Syracuse University soccer games, which were much better than this game. Third, the fans, which ones that were there, also take away from the game. Throwing beer in the air when a goal is scored might sound like fun to some people, but is really rude to those fans who just want to watch and enjoy the game. My wife and kids weren't very happy about having to go out to dinner after the game with beer in their hair.

I've never been to one of DC United's games before. Decided to take my daughter and her friend since they are soccer fanatics. What I didn't know, that we quickly learned, is that when the DC United team scores a goal, people in the stands, lots of them, throw their beer cups, with beer still in the cup, in the air, spraying beer all over who is around them. This was unpleasant, as they are minors and then were smelling like they had spent the evening in a bar somewhere. Also, the language is awful. But hey, it's a competitive sport game, in public, people get excited. The food was terrible. It was expensive and cold. The team, however, was very good, fun to watch, and I would like to see them again sometime. I'm not likely to attend another event at this location. May try again if/when the new stadium is complete.
