Great venue for an outstanding band. The band was great at getting the audience dancing and having a good time. They played a solid 2+ hours. Absolutely love this show.

First, the Mercury Ballroom is amazing! Can't wait to see more shows there. The Dandy Warhols were awesome! They were spot on and put on a great show. My only negative comment, which really isn't bad, is that they came back for an encore (they said their first in a long time, can't remember the exact number), and they only played one song. Would have liked them to have played a couple more songs. All in all, great show! Glad they finally made it to my neck of the woods!
Opening band was surprisingly amazing. I loved the videos that went with their music. During their set, members of the DW were wandering around the bar, chatting with fans. That was very cool of them. Their show was also amazing. Played a lot of early stuff (Come Down was well represented). CTT was funny and personable. I loved his solo version of Holiday. Excellent show!

Best fun I've had since Oasis at Maxwell's in Hoboken back in '94 - despite the lack of alcohol. Saw 'em at Wiltern last year - great also; they don't have to play small joints like this, but dang if it ain't great that they do. Just for the pure FUN of it. The guys are loose and tight, and they're doin it right. beautiful.

As always, the Dandys put on a great show. I was being particularly aware of the quality of the show since it was my 11-year old son's very first concert. There was, as usually, plenty of energy, engagement, and tunefulness from the band. The mix, however, was one of the worst I've ever hear heard at a professional show. Some of the songs were unrecognizable. My son said he only got about 1/2 of the show whereas I know he knew most of the songs. This was my third Dandy Warhols show and they sound much, much better than this. Still, go see the Dandys. They rule, OK?

I have been going to concerts since I was in middle school. My first concert was with the Seeds and Buffalo Springfield opening for The Supremes at the Hollywood Bowl. I think I know a little about live music. The Dandy Warhols were amazing. I have been following this group for a few years but never had the opportunity to experience them live. Some groups seem to struggle, whether it's with equipment or personnel or the audience. There was none of that with the Warhols. They really appeared to enjoy every moment of their performance, as did the rest of us. I am always amazed how the really great groups can always seem to keep things fresh, night after night of touring across country. I would suggest that you check out their website. There you will find tour dates and locations, as well as other odd and interesting stuff. I guarantee you will have a truly fun experience, and if you don't it's your own fault, or your pharmacists!

The show was good. I'm glad I went because I had never seen them live and have enjoyed their music for a long time. It was too bad that the singer's voice was fried. I had heard that they played 3 or 4 nights in a row so that and/or a cold may have killed his voice. I think that made them lower his voice in the mix which made the show sound muddy at times. I probably won't go see them again in a small club. Their music has too many subtleties which you miss in a small show. But I'm glad I went and will continue to enjoy their music.

Very good show and venue. The Mercury Ballroom a wonderful place for a show. Great ambience, plenty of bartenders, and wonderful acoustics. The Dandy Warhols had moments of excellence and periods of tiredness. They looked whooped frankly but played hard. Godless was a bit dissappointing as it lacked the recorded versions acoustic guitar and horn but still sounded ok. Love this band and felt lucky they actually made a stop in Louisville. Would see them again in a hearbeat.

This was their first Vegas show ever! It was a lot of fun to see them play songs I've loved for years. They were very interactive with the crowd and would talk to individuals between songs. Zia McCabe even motor-boated a female fan and she loved it! They played every song I wanted to hear and they sounded great live. Highly recommend. Even a light fan would have a blast!

The Dandy Warhols played another standout show in NYC. This time, they led off the evening by playing their classic album, 13 Tales From Urban Bohemia, in its entirety. As eclectic and varied an album as you'll hear, it was great to experience it in its intended order, including the tracks rarely, if ever, played live. After finishing the album, the band played a good mix of their other songs, leading off with a solo acoustic performance of Every Day Should be a Holiday by Courtney. The rest of the band then rejoined him for some more great songs. The vocal interplay between Courtney and drummer Brent DeBoer, whose drumkit sits towards the front of the stage, is mesmerizing. Add to that the guitar work of Peter Lowe, and the amazing Zia McCabe, who plays a number of instruments, and you have an unforgettable show you wish would never end.

The band was AMAZING!!! They played well into over-time and shared a bunch of extras after the 'Thirteen Tales' set - loved it all. Great night! My 4-star rating is only because the acoustics at the Wiltern were so-so. I was at front and center stage, and it was near impossible to make out the lyrics. Since I know most of the lyrics - not such a problem for me.

The Dandy's were here last year and played a great show, but somehow this year was better! They seemed more tour ready with a more showy stage and, of course, the 13 Tales set lit. Because they don't have a lot of mega-hits, knowing their music is really instrumental in digging their show, but even if I didn't know a note, I would have walked out a huge fan. Courtney Taylor-Taylor is a great front man. His performances are sincere, which means when he makes a move, you feel it's from the heart. Zia, on synth, was trim and sexy and had moves that offered the audience whole someone to dance with. The rest of the band was tight and cool. If you like anything about the Dandy's or even have a clue who they are, take in a show; it will take you all the way to fan status.

This was one of those rare events in life where the live band was actually BETTER than their recordings or videos. Very sharp, lots of energy, all but flawless. I have attended very few performances in my life that were this good or even close to it. The venue was extremely intimate and most of the people there were cool. It was my first time to the Phoenix, and the staff was very friendly and super professional. Overall a good time was had by one and all! I went through a lot to get there because of hellish traffic to & from the GTA that night coming in from WNY. It was more than worth the inconvenience to see these guys!! Yes, I have to say it.: Zia is even prettier in person than I already thought she was. humada humada humada. Thanks to the gentleman named Will who is associated with the band for talking to me. Courtney is an amazing and well-polished performer, and Zia, Peter, and Brent are awesome!

The dandy warhols are something that I've wanted to see for a long time. And they didn't disappoint. They played "13 tales from urban bohemia" in its entirety which is one of my favorite albums and then played more songs afterwards. The only thing that was not wonderful was the acoustics of the Wilbur theatre. Occassionally it was hard to hear courtney (the lead singer) and if I didn't already know the lyrics i wouldn't know what he was saying. But other than that it was a great show.

I've seen the Dandys 4 times now, and this might be my favorite show. The band sounded great, played many of their hits including all of Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia; highlights included Country Leaver, Get Off, Bohemian Like You, Big Indian, We Used To Be Friends, and a cover of AC DC's Hells Bells. The Wilbur was a nice, intimate venue. The sound was off at the start Holding Me Up, but that's about the only complaint. The Dandys continue to be one of the best live bands out there. Can't wait until they come around again!!

This is the third time I've seen the Dandy Warhols. They always put on a great show, doing well known hits as well as lesser known songs. But the sound system at The Trocadero was horrible. I've seen other groups there and don't remember it being that bad, so I'm not sure who's at fault, but you couldn't even understand when the band spoke, let alone any song lyrics. Terrible. Band didn't pay attention to the temperature of the crowd at all. When more than half the auditorium is talking to one another, maybe its time to pickup the pace? Even when they had a chance to redeem themselves and play a hit, they did it acoustic. What? They have so many good songs, why not play those? Next time Mr. Dandy, why don't you try firing up Spotify and see what your fans want to hear and try to balance that with what you feel like playing.

Great gig at the Commodore by the Dandy Warhols. Supported by San Fran's 'Sleepy Sun', both bands had the whole place rocking. This was the third time I've seen the Dandy Warhols, and it was fantastic. They played an extremely long show, possibly close to two hours or so, and did a great mix of songs spanning many years and many albums. While they did not do an encore, it wasn't really necessary as they had been so generous with the time they played. I was happy that they started it out with Mohammed, and was also glad to hear many other favorites. There wasn't much played from Earth to the Dandy Warhols, which was unfortunate, but they did at least do The Legend of the Last of the Outlaw Truckers. The only truly negative part of the experience were some of the crowd members, including one particularly obnoxious drunk couple, people who were chatting (up front, no less) during the songs and a guy that kept screaming about how much he loved Courtney Taylor-Taylor. These annoyances made it hard for surrounding people to enjoy some of the songs, but thankfully the Dandies were fantastic enough that the idiots in the crowd could be ignored. Can't wait until the next time I can see the Dandies!

no set list or boring details here.Compile the setlist by listing your favorite Dandy Warhols tunes and shuffle! Audience was the best of the tour ,straight from Zia McCabe's mouth, don't take my word for it. But I have NEVER seen a bad DWs audience , The Dandy Warhols are just way too brainy and pop for a goon to enjoy. The band flexed its muscle so casually it was frightening, and all the time having as much fun as we were. Encore was The Stones "Last Time" Gee , I hope not.

The Dandy's are a band in need of a really good manager- and maybe a drug councilor. When they are on- they are on- and they shine brighter than any other band I know of. But left to their own devices, they go off in directions musically that may sound good to them- but sound like crap to most everyone in the audience. They have produced some of the best unheard pop music on the planet- yet they still are in search of an audience. The show we saw started at 10pm. The Dandy's checked out the opening band, the Meeks- I got a picture of my wife with a very messed up looking Courtney Taylor Taylor. He came off of playing at the Playboy Mansion the night before- and was still pretty toasty. Anyway- they came on- played most of their catalog- no encore. The sound was pretty bad- the highlight was Simple Life- it was the one they put the most energy into. Never realized how much the brass on that song mattered. They didn't play Scientist which was a drag. The rest of it was a lot of backfeed, that even if I was stones, I am not sure I would have enjoyed.

The Dandy Warhols were absolutely fantastic and mesmerizing. I was so happy that they finally made it down to Florida and can't wait for them to return. I just wish they had played for an additional few hours because they have so many great songs and they just couldn't get to so many of my favorites. Everything they did play sounded really great and everyone in the band couldn't have been any better. Courtney Taylor-Taylor is such a super cool lead singer and Zia McCabe is equally cool and adorable. Peter Holstrom rocked the house down and Brent DeBoer was fabulous. At the Sinclair (Cambridge, MA) on 4/15/16, the Dandy Warhols did not come on until 10:20. The show was scheduled for 8 pm. That's what the ticket said. The (unremarkable) warm-up band came on at 9 pm. This seems inconsiderate to me. The Dandys could have done an on-time set, then taken a long break for the later crowd. Both the Dandys and the warm-up were far too loud. I had to wear ear-plugs, and even those were insufficient for the amped-up bass keyboard. I see a lot of shows (for instance, I just saw Joe Satriani at the Orpheum), and I expect R&R to be loud. But this was eardrum-damage loud. That said, I like the drone / mesmerizing effect of the Dandys, who did some nice extended jams. Maybe a live album, so we can choose the volume and keep our eardrums intact.

If you're a Dandy Warhol fan, even if you're not, you must see them live. I've been a fan for years, introduced to them from a documentary made several years back as they broached main stream success here in the states and more so in Europe. They are a very, very tight band and broadcast this trippy, psychedelic brand of rock - that is fun, dreamy and moving. Zia makes the show with her presence - but all the band members are locked into the music - and the audience goes right there with them. I would travel to see these guys again. Just a great experience and a great show.

This was my second time seeing the Dandy's at the Bowery Ballroom. The first time was about 14 years ago, this time my 21 and 23 year old children went with me. Time flies, times change....Well, the Dandy's really haven't changed much have they. My opinion of them hasn't changed much across the 14 year span. They're OK, live. Prone to selecting their droning, strummed type songs with one foot in the druggy sixties and the other foot less firmly planted in the 90's, they could have picked a better set list. The songs they pick all start sounding the same. Also, the more popular songs they played, THEY DON'T PLAY RIGHT. Look, there is a trumpet part in the song Godless, it's not that hard to use a sample instead of singing the part which just seems cheap and uncaring. Same thing with We Used to be Friends. USE THE RIGHT KEYBOARD SOUND. It's not that hard. Don't make the audience feel like your going through the motions. I gave them 4 stars out of loyalty.

Easily one of my favorite bands of all time, The Dandy Warhols absolutely killed it at The House of Blues. This makes the fourth time I have been lucky enough to see them and I plan to make it five at the earliest opportunity.

I'm a new fan of the Dandy Warhols; I've gotten into them over the past year. That said, I wanted to hear how they sounded live and traveled from Newport, RI to hear them play. Exhausted and hung over from the night before, my girl and I were still blown away! I haven't bought a concert tee-shirt in years, but, I did that night. The energy and sound they projected made me a fan for life! $25 / ticket was a steal to have a fun night like that... we forgot we were dragging and even got a little of our dance on during the show. Great, great show!!!

I've been a big fan of the Dandys since '97. For reasons that I don't even know, I never saw them in concert until 2008. Have seen them each go round since. They're great live and have become one of my favorite groups of all time, Also had the opportunity to meet most of the band after the Webster Hall show in 2010. Nice to know that they're pretty cool people too.

For me, this was the first time the Fillmore was curtained off so that 2/3 of the room was not being used. The sound board, in its usual spot, was at the back of the room. Nevertheless, the room was half-full. But, man, if you weren't there, you missed out. The fans were terrific (all the imbeciles must have worn themselves out at speedstreet). The band gave it all they had for the folks who showed up and played everything I hoped to hear and much more. Having room to roam was a rare treat at Fillmore. I saw the show from dead-center 15 feet back, both sides, and leaning on the back rail. It sounded great everywhere. Even the bar staff was having fun for a change.

I'm still buzzing from the Boston show. The band sounded just like the records, except live and even better. I love it when bands are so good live. I'd never seen them before and there's always that "what if they're not as good live?" feeling before a show. Can't stop thinking about seeing them again soon. Wish they'd come back to Portland Maine, missed 'em last time. Great set list with all my favorites. Thanks for a great show.

I have to say, I missed the Dandys when they played the old Cactus Club in San Jose back in '96, and somehow never had the chance to see them since. Until this past month. I won't pass up another Dandy's show... ever. They were awesome, and played most of my favorite songs. I still wished they played a bit more of their beginning stuff (Best Friend, Retarded), but I was nonetheless elated. Awesome, awesome show!

Still give a great show & as always they have some of the nicest fans in rock & roll! Also if you have 1776 as your openers, get there early, really good band. Wish they played longer.

I've only known about these guys for a few years, but when I heard they were in Vegas, we jumped in the car and drove up. The sound (hard rock cafe) was totally amazing - - even CTT loved it and they were so tight, and so good.... I love this band, I'd go see them again in a heartbeat.

This was the eighth Dandys show I have seen over the years, and it was by far the best experience I have had with them. The music was tight, the set list awesome, and the ticket prices more than reasonable for such an awesome venue. Can't wait to see them again.

This concert was the best one that I have seen in the past 10+ years. These guys rocked for 2+ hours playing all of their best material. There was plenty of energy on stage. I loved the way Zia danced behind the keyboards. I cannot wait for them to go on tour again.

The whole band was awesome but Courtney was still super sexy. His voice is still sexy too. He would get so hot and sweaty on stage that he would role up the sleeves of his t-shirt so you could see his sexy arms. They also played all of my favorite songs from "I love you" to "Good Morning" and of course "Godless". Overall the best night of my life!

The Dandy Warhols have been my favorite band since I was about twelve, and they continue to be!! They have great music, amazing talent, and excellent persona. They are able to connect with their audience and play music that is extremely meaningful, and manage to be extremely catchy at the same time.

This was my first time seeing the Dandy Warhols perform live, so I went in not really knowing what to expect from them in person; I have been listening to them since my junior year of high school, at which point I had bought Welcome To The Monkey House mostly because I liked the cover and knew that Courtney Taylor-Taylor and the rest of the band are Portland natives too, and after listening for a bit to their mix of sweeping euphonic harmonic structure, classic PacNW grunge, and very Portlandian cannabis culture references, I was a diehard fan. This concert was kind of an interesting experience, because it was on a Sunday and none of my friends who like that sort of music could make it, so I was all alone and ended up watching the show from the balcony in back. Overall, I was rather impressed with their skill playing live and generating such a solid sound from just a guitarist/frontman, bassist, drummer, and DJ (though when they played All The Money Or The Simple Life Honey and Godless, I was über-bummed they didn't have the trumpet part). When singing live, Courtney Taylor-Taylor's voice sounds great in terms of melody and everything else except if you want to understand the words as he sings them: his diction in live performance was dreadful from where I was. But then again, he did mention shortly after they began their set that he'd just eaten a very strong cannabrownie (much like their opening act Blue Giant said of having eaten some psilocybin mushrooms before taking the stage). I was very happy to hear them do You Were The Last High, All The Money..., Bohemian Like You, and Wasp In The Lotus at the show, and was singing along when they did their fantastic version of Little Drummer Boy. In contrast, however, I was immensely disappointed that they neglected to perform Plan A, which is one of my favorites, and was on the Capitol Years album for which they were touring. But it was sort of an acceptable trade-off to go without that number in exchange for Little Drummer Boy, Wasp in the Lotus, and most especially, Lou Weed. That last one was a very welcome surprise, but was tempered fairly quickly thereafter by the fact that there was no encore at all, and when they took their instruments off they left the stage and "Hey Ya" by Outkast started blaring on the speakers...not the note I would have chosen to leave things on. I had to take out my iPod and turn on the Earth To The Dandy Warhols album to keep the experience going. Overall, it was a show I'm very happy I was in attendance of, but not the best I've seen in town, or even at the Crystal. But I'm not sure if I'll ever see a performer in that venue who can surpass the pure wondrousness that is Imogen Heap performing live with essentially nothing but her, a Mac, and a keyboard. But I was also actually far more impressed by Of Montreal last month at the Roseland, a band which I wasn't really aware of a year ago but who I will now be seeing the next time they're in town even if I have a 7AM class the next day.

I'm a big fan of the Dandy Warhols and they once again delivered a great performance for the hometown crowd. Opening for the band, was Blue Giant which made for a great pairing for the whole evening. The Crystal Ballroom never looked better, almost magical, with large and small paper lanterns suspended from the ceiling. The whole house rocked with great sound and energy, making it a wonderful evening of entertainment!

The Dandy Warhols have still got it! Going to their Xmas-time homecoming show has become somewhat of a tradition for me, and they never disappoint! They played absolutely EVERY song I wanted to hear, which isn't always the case, honestly. They sounded amazing, the crowd was dancing the entire time and I can't wait to see what they have in store for me in 2011!

Like all live bands the bass was way to lound. Tyler has a very soft voice and style of singing so it was pretty hard to understand what he was saying. When he sang unplugged without the band that is when things got really cool. Since they were playing to a home town crowd I expected more from the band in terms of interactions and talking. They just kept playing song after song without getting the audience engaged. My guess is that they were just real tired from being on the road for so long being it their last show and they had nothing to say. It was like they played every song out of their catalog.

The opening act, Blue Giant, kicked the show off with an outstanding set of hard-hitting numbers. I'm truly embarrassed to say it was the first I'd heard of them, but I was so impressed by this Portland band that I ran out an downloaded their music on Itunes the next day! The Dandy Warhols followed with an intensive, well-mixed selection of their works, sounding better than ever! It was hard to believe that this was the end of the tour for these bands. Both sounded in top form. Great show! Not to be missed next time they come around!
