Styx

Interesting mix of bands. Tesla had its own solid following, but it was clear from the number of seats unused that they couldn't have filled have the space on their own. Joan Jett was bareboned rock n roll - with enough audience repartee that she connected really well. Power of the vocals not lost with age. The difference in the openers was that while Tesla and The Blackhearts performed - Styx put on a show! Antics, co-ordinated light show beyond what they've done previously (seen them 3 times this year), audience repartee, big screen backdrops, surprise numbers, and even confetti cannons made the night memorable.... from seats to lawn to beyond!

I love going to concerts and the venue makes it so much more enjoyable!

Tesla is my all time favorite, Styx definitely put on a damn great show, had a amazing time ❤️❤️❤️

All in all--great concert. Started a little late. Loved 38 Special. REO was my favorite. They put on a great show. Styx was good too.

The guys still got it!!! All three bands sounded great and provided the energy for a great concert.... flashback to the 80's....yeah really....still that good! We try to get to see these groups every year or so...already looking forward to the next time. Keep rocking guys and thanks !!!!! Only negative was not band related....unfortunately those in charge of concessions were a bit "tardy" on their plans leaving many fans feeling that this part of the event was poorly organized...I would agree.

Styx is amazing - they still can rock like they did years ago. They sound exactly the same. What a show, not just the music but the performance was great. REO was the best - they still have it after all these years. Took me right back to the 80's. 38 Special was good but I really did not follow their music much.

The concert itself was top notch all 3 bands can still bring loved all 3. My problem was the were the venue was. I'm not a smoker but if you were you had to leave the stadium to smoke and if you wanted a beer you also had to leave stand in one line to order the beer stand in another to get the beer then couldn't leave the tent until beer was finished and they didn't even have any speakers in tent to here concert. They ran out of nachos hot dogs pop occasinally ran out of pizza until dominos delivered more. Once again concert good venue beyond bad.

The music was awesome. Loved every song each band played. Only negative comment is I wish the volume was louder for 38 Special and REO. The volume for Styx was perfect.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! People of all ages, shapes, sizes and colors were there and it seemed to me that everybody enjoyed it. They put on a great show. Thanks!

Great music, Good venue. Start time of event was confusing and lines to enter stadium were riduclous but it was worth it.

I saw REO Speedwagon last summer at a baseball game, and they were amazing... My life is now complete because I saw them live at their own show!!!

This was the 5th time ive seen these bands in concert and once again REO put on a better show! Im very disappointed in Styx...No Mr. Roboto and once again NO Show Me The Way!

Really good show. REO was good and Styx was great. Not a bad venue for a concert. Vocal mikes needed turned up a bit to hear over the music.

Loved REO and Styx the best!! They are still Rockin'. They had the crowd on their feet! It was great!! So glad I didn't miss it.

Like most everyone in attendance, I am a "local" who lives within 15 minutes of the stadium, and it was fantastic to get to see a show like this without having to drive to Pittsburgh. The weather ended up being perfect, and there was not a bad seat in the place, even though next time I will spend the extra couple dollars to be down on the field so we can have room to move around and dance. The venue did run out of just about everything in the way of concessions, which was not good. They did have a "beer garden" set up outside the stadium (no beer allowed in the stadium) and they really need to get a better set up for that....you had to wait in line to buy a beer ticket, then take your ticket to wait in line for a beer, which took entirely TOO long.

All 3 groups put on a great show. This was my first time to see REO and I thought they were great, especially the encore. This was the 3rd time I've seen Sytx, great show as always! Awesome night, great venue, with the exception of vending. Bad enough to not serve beer, but then to run out of water!

All songs played except 3 were top 40 hits. EXCELLENT concert. And, The Wheeling Stadium and surrounding facilities are wonderful. I'd suggest you get there about 2 hours early to miss traffic and tailgate party before you go in.

I'm an old 70s concert fan and saw REO Speedwagon in 1979. I've also seen Styx 5 times in the last 4 years. This is my first time for 38 Special. I thought 38 Special was great and kicked a#@. Reo Speedwagon was good and played most of my favorites except "Only the Strong Survive". Kevin Cronin was good but his age showed a little as he could not hit the high notes as in the past. The guitar player was adequate, but was not in the same league as Gary Richrath. Styx was good, but I've seen them better. I thought they sounded a little better when they toured with the Outlaws in 2007-2008. I would recommend the show; good show but not great.

It was a great trio, and affordable. that is what was great.

The concert was much more than music alone. It was a fabulous performance by all. It was a spectacular and interactive show!!! I would go again tonight

WE HAVE SEEN STYX AND REO SPEEDWAGON PERFORM BEFORE. 38 SPECIAL WAS WORTH THE PRICE, ALTHOUGH I THINK THEY COULD HAVE PLAYED MORE SONGS. REO SPEEDWAGON'S PERFORMANCE WAS EXCELLENT. VERY ENGERGETIC AND SOUNDED LIKE WE REMEMBERED. STYX WAS FANTASTIC! THE KEYBOARDS AND GUITARS WERE OVER THE TOP!

38 Special was surprisingly good. I had no expectations going in and found I really enjoyed their set. REO Speedwagon was amazing!!!! Kevin Cronin has not lost a bit of his vocal talent. They chose songs to please the crowd, and that's just what they did. Styx--disappointing. They need to find a better Dennis DeYoung sound alike. They really just sounded like a cover band.

Styx didn't perform several of their biggest hits as in Babe, Best of Times and Mr Roboto. I know many kids love Mr Roboto and were really disappointed.

If you love this bands music then the live concert experience is amazing!!!

I went to see Joan Jett & The Black Hearts first & foremost.... They were absolutely amazing and rocked the house!!! I wish they could've played all night! Dang you Prince William County and your sound ordinance for 11 PM quiet time... I really had no idea how TESLA would be and was not impressed. STYX I knew and loved... they also rocked the house and came in a close 2nd to Joan Jett. Jiffy Lube Live is amazing in its own way. Great people... My wife and I got a free upgrade to Section 204 from our lawn seats... Thank you Live Nation ticket lady!!

STYX is a family favorite and last year's release "The Mission" is their best album. They played 4 cuts off it + offered an uncomfortable version of Mr. Roboto as an encore song. Tesla rocked to open but Joan Jett's set was out-dated, lazy and too damn long! She force-feeds bad song after bad song after bad song. Its 2018 Joan; cover songs from the 50s & 60s are ridiculous.

This was so far the best concert I went to this year it was a awesome show I loved all of the three bands.

1st concert at Huntington nice venue, drink prices were insanely high. Tesla was phenomenal, I could listen and sing along with them all night. Impressed with Tommy Shaw he looks and sounds great saw Styx many years ago and I think he was better than ever. Joan Jett on stage rocking away and still looking good, glad I had a chance to see her.

A beautiful summer night for some classic rock and roll. Styx sounded great and played most of the hits from their extensive catalog. Gowan is a great replacement for Denis DeYoung and a hometown hero. Joan Jett & the Blackhearts sounded great as did Tesla.

Outstanding live show of one hit after another! Tesla opened the show with a great forty-minute set of no frills meat-n-potatoes blue-collar rock-n-roll! I've seen them as the opener about 10 times and they never disappoint! Next up: Joan Jett. I'll admit I'm not a huge Joan Jett fan (I know her radio hits), her energy and stage presence radiated from the stage for the next hour. She is still getting it done at age 60! After the final gear switch-over, Styx took the stage and killed it. Not sure how many times I've seen Styx (maybe 20?), and I'm still amazed at how tight the band, especially the three and four-part harmonies. Styx played a full set of their radio rock hits, sprinkled in with a few cuts from their new album "The Mission". And they are *finally* playing 'Mr. Roboto' live! My only complaint is that Gowan's piano solo and vocal sing-along is getting tired and dated, seems to be the same thing show-after-show year-after-year, but I understand it gets the crowd involved while the rest of the band takes a break. I'd love to see him play a re-interpreted Styx song with piano and vocals only, could be a cool solo focal point during the show. The acoustics in the venue we *awesome*, which is a great compliment to the FOH guys, sounded amazing where we were (5th row on the floor, just left of center). Getting in and out of Place Bell was super easy (we paid $10CAN to park in the shopping mall across the street)! One of the nicest and most modern venues that I've been into in a long time! Well worth the 5 1/2 drive to Laval!!! FIVE STARS for the show and the venue!

First time at the place Bell. Great venue for a concert. Sound was very good. Styx put on a great show. They played a few from their new album but the rest were all the classics. Gowan brings an amazing energy to the group with his antics on stage. All my favorites were performed. I only heard positive feedback after the show. Joan Jett was also very good.

Styx show was awesome, a fantastic stage show with all the trimmings! Plus they sounded great on all their hits! Joan Jett also put on a rockin Show and sounds great as ever!

Venue moved us from the upper section down to the floor where we had a fantastic view. Joan Jett is still a total badass and Styx put on an incredible show. They sounded amazing and both bands played all the hits I wanted to hear. I had a blast!!!

This was my first time seeing Styx. It was utterly fantastic! I never seen such an amazing show since them! It was so entertaining and I m thankful to have had that night. Loved it! I m getting The Mission after seeing them at the giant Center.

Four stars because the chairs they give you at Hershey are so small. We were packed in like sardines. However, the concert was great! Tesla was too loud and it distorted some of their music and I could barely understand the lead singer. But Tesla fans seemed very happy. And they were rocking the house (I wasn t familiar with most of their songs but the audience was into it). Joan Jett rocked the house! She had energy, I could understand her words as she sang, she did her hits along with a couple of surprise songs. I saw her way back in the 70 s and she was just as good as then. Loved the graphics they showed on the screen. Awesome set Joan! I loved it! We bought the tickets for Styx and they didn t disappoint. We have seen them 5 times and this was our second favorite concert. They changed things up and I loved all of the new songs from The Mission album. The graphics on the big screen were great. They sounded fantastic! They played our favorites and the encore was spectacular! Mr. Roboto and Renegade rocked the house. The confetti shower was awesome. Bottom line, we had a fantastic time, Joan and Styx rocked the house. One of the best concerts we have been to. Styx is still going strong and seemed fresh and new and ready to take on the world!

Styx was fantastic. They put on an amazing show. Joan Jett sounds just as good as alive as recorded. Tesla was great. Seats at Hershey arena were very hard and uncomfortable but other than that everything was great.

Dynamite show! Heard Joan Jett s new song written for the soon to be released documentary on her career. Met some really great Tesla super fans. Loved Tesla! Styx are such great showmen! The costumes, the catwalk, smoke, lights and outstanding vocals! Lady was spot on. I went to see JJBH and honestly, exquisite delicious music, I savored every note! Kenny Laguna is a very cool dude. Dougie Needles fiery and explosive as always, Hal Seltzer anchored it down, Michael McDermott pounded those drums, man is he strong, (he s my newest total favorite) anc Joan Jett as always burned the house down with her signature snarls and growls. Joan is amazing and Never disappoints her fans.

I took my daughter with me to this concert (it was her first) and we had a real blast! We had seats just outside the covered area, but we upgraded to box seats. This was the best money I have spent in a long time! The bands were fantastic, the acoustics great, and the view from where we were was wonderful. Our box was just to the left of the sound mixers. I think they were the best seats in the house! Joan Jett kicked ass (she was my daughter's favorite) and I of course was in awe of Styx. The beer and water were kinda high but that's what you expect at these events. I think I have created a monster though...I have had to promise to take my daughter to see Joan Jett next year and she want to see Keith Urban next month. I almost forgot, we really enjoyed watching the staff as they danced in the isle. I think they enjoyed it as much as we did! My daughter wants to work there when she grows up (she's 13).

It was definitely a GOOD TIME! I went for Joan Jett and Tesla and was amazed by Styx!

Being a big fan of Styx since 1975, I decided to go all in and get the Meet & Greet tickets to meet the band I have listened to for more than forty years. You do pay a serious premium over a regular ticket, but you get to meet the band and you get some merchandise and a good seat. Of those three things I really got only one (at least so far). The meet & greet was not really a meet & greet but more of a photo op. I wanted to talk with the band briefly, but I got literally 15 seconds and they turned me, took two photos, and sent me out the door. It all happened in less than 60 seconds. The first photo I was not even smiling. I was extremely disappointed in the experience. The concert itself was great. All three bands were good. Styx put on a great show. That part was great! Now, the merchandise side of things is another story. I have not received anything so far. It is a long story, but many emails later no one has helped me yet, and I have not received the merchandise. I did do a VIP ticket a couple of years ago and had a similar problem. So, bottom line...buy regular tickets only. The others simply are not worth it. Hope this helps you.

Styx still really puts on a great show. They are so talented and their skills haven t faded a bit.

The show was awesome and fun! We sat on the lawn, even though we had seats, as the people on the lawn are always entertaining. The performers (despite aging) were full of energy and charisma. Great music and a great show! Enjoyed it and stayed til the bitter end!

Styx was awesome. However, we all felt the sound was "off" during Joan Jett concert. She was good but the sound didn't seem just right

Styx is still as good as the we re in the 70 s and 80 s. One could tell they still had the energy, interest and desire to put on a great performance. The new lead singer sang Dennis De Young s songs extremely well. I ll be attending another one of their shows next time around.

To be absolutely honest and I am a well seasoned concert going individual, I thought; judging by the attendance and the crowd reactions to the thee bands on the venue( that for a Sunday night( the place was PACT). Out of the three bands there; Joan Jett absolutely killed it . She is amazing and puts her heart and soul into her music. She brought everyone to their feet with I love Rock and Roll . She is the epitome of Rock and Roll. She was my favorite. I saw her and her band 2 years ago st the Starplex in Dallas (now Dos Equis) but the acoustics at the Music Factory enhanced their sound 10 times greater.

The Toyota Music Factory is new and not too big, seating for 4,000 and another 4,000 on the lawn. We had a blast! Styx is my favorite.,, Not only great music, but THE nicest guys on the planet!!!! Joan Jett was super, bringing back some great memories with her set list. Tesla began the evening, promptly at 7:00 and started the night off, rocking our socks off! It was a great night!!!

STYX continues to amaze. Saw them first in late 70's and they are just as good today. Joan Jett was great as well.

We had pretty good seats even for being as far back as we were in section 107. We could see the stage until everyone stood up, but could see the jumbo screens most of the time. It was a very humid night but the overhead fans helped. They really need to turn the fans on in the restrooms as no airflow makes it stifling and a risk to overheating a person! The concert itself was really great, loved seeing the bands I grew up with.

The meet and greet for Styx was one of the best one's we have attended. They took several pictures and everyone had a great time. We were very impressed with all three bands. It was amazing, great group of bands. They all rocked the house! IF you get a chance to see any or all of them, do it why you can!!!

Styx is always a fantastic show. They were my very first concert way back in 1980. I see them every time they come close to my area. As long as they keep playing, I ll keep going to listen!!

Toyota ampatheater is the best for concert s, been twice now will go again, great bands...

If you showed up looking for Styx-lyte, you would have been sorely disappointed. Styx and Joan Jett rocked the Pavillion. Guitar licks and piano solos were amazing. If you get another chance to see this show...or just recommende it to your friends in other parts of the country...do it!

Sound quality was better than any media (LIVE!). Each band performed with professionalism. They were interacting with the crowd, came right out and got right to it and provided one HELL of a great concert experience. Each of these performers are legends in there own right and boy do they show it. I would never miss another one of these bands performing if I can help it.

Styx performed a couple new songs from the Mission and lots of favorites from the past. They are so energetic and enthusiastic and the music was great. The only downside is the Wheatland venue. It s in the middle of nowhere and the access is on 2 lane country roads. It takes forever to get out and get home.

All 3 bands were amazing!!! I can't wait to see them again!

We ve seen Styx many times and they never disappoint! I understand that they need to shake up their setlists, but I could live without hearing Mr. Roboto ever again. Otherwise, we loved every minute. Weather was perfect at this beautiful venue.

The concert was (in order of appearance) Tesla, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, abd Styx. I came for Joan Jett . She was happy and active on stage. She played all of her best stuff, opening with "Bad Reputation" and "Cherry Bomb." I was in the 12th row and stood for her entire set. Joan was that good.

Tesla, Joan Jett and Styx were awesome. First time at Fivepoint theater. Nice set up.

STYX gave a great performance - every bit as good as they were back in the day....and their new songs are fantastic!!! I look forward to more from them.

The concert was AWESOME! I loved it! I felt like it was the 70's again!

STYX put on a phenomenal show, as usual, but I was HIGHLY disappointed when I found out that they weren't the headlining act for this gig! Later, I found out that, evidently, STYX and REO swap out headlining duties for every other show on this tour and IF I had known that STYX wouldn't have been the headliner, I wouldn't have paid over $100 per ticket to be real close to the stage. I wanted to see MORE of STYX and LESS of REO (sorry REO fans). There were so many songs that they played at other venues... where they were the headlining act... on this tour that us STYX fans wanted to hear but were shortchanged with time limits because of them not being the headlining act. And TRUST ME, there were SEVERAL other fans that night that felt the same way... CHEATED! Other fans that have caught them, on this tour, have stated, on social media, that when STYX is the headlining act, the concerts started at the SAME time(7pm local) but lasted well after 11pm(local), while ours at The Wharf Amphitheatre in Orange Beach, AL ended at 10:23pm! Personally, I will NEVER pay to see STYX again UNLESS they are the SOLO or the HEADLINING act... PERIOD. THE Tommy Shaw showed us just what capabilities a 64 year old highly talented musician possesses with the mere SHREADING of his vast selection of guitars and STILL does his signature high kick with ease! His voice is GREAT plus he gave a shout out to his home state of Alabama! JY was ripping and shreading in his usual bombastic way. And what can I say about Todd Sucherman... the VERY BEST drummer in the business! IMO, the ONLY thing that would've made it a PERFECT STYX concert was if Dennis DeYoung were back with the band. Lawrence Gowan TRIES to make it up with his onstage theatrics but he's a FAR cry from Dennis and his pipes! Sorry Lawrence! REO's Kevin Cronin put on one hell of a show for a 67 year old man! And let's not forget Don Felder and his outstanding performance playing his guitars and singing our favorite Eagles tunes that we all grew up listening to... on 8-track!

This show was almost four hours of solid rock & roll where the audience knew the words to almost every song!

I have been to several concerts in my lifetime but this was by far one of the best concerts of all times!!!!!

Great show. Any of the three bands -Don Felder, REO or Styx could have been the headline. Saw them all in the 70s and 80s. This was as good or better If you like classic rock you will love this show

I went for REO, and they were great, BUT STYX rocked Tuscaloosa. Don Felder was AMAZING~~! We had great seats, and a great price~~! Everyone was courteous, the staff was very kind - helpful. I would definitely go to another event at Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. First time there, the weather was beautiful..... So glad we went~!

This venue is the NEW perfect concert place. Very easy to get into and park. Someone did a great job planning and designing this concert venue. Not a bad seat anywhere and sound is great for an outdoor venue.

This concert was one of the best I ve seen in a while! These ol boys can stick ROCK and they sounded so good live They played to the crowd and were so appreciative of their fans. The venue was just the right size. I will definitely go see them again!!!

Definitely was a Great show from start to finish. Don Felder opened and was entertaining for every one of the 50 minutes he performed. REO Speedwagon was next and continued a great night by rocking the house for nearly an hour and a half. Then it was Styx!!! 90 minutes of amazing music from great performers that kept the entire crowd standing and singing along. Highly recommend you see these groups.

Don Felder was very good. REO was good also but the lead singer's voice is an octave or two lower than it was originally and it was obvious in some of the songs. Styx put on a great show and played all of my favorites except for Mr. Roboto.
