This band just goes from strength to strength, releasing a great album every few years and backing it up with an extraordinary show. The L.A. performance highlighted much of their back catalogue, but leaned particularly heavy on the new album "You Know Who You Are," which may be their best record to date. A great show, bolstered by the addition of Doug Gillard (Death of Samantha, Guided by Voices) on guitar. Ira Elliot continues to be one of the best drummers working today, anchoring the set with steady and understated work, but bringing the big beats when the moment calls for them. And Matthew Caws was in fine voice, as usual, and a wonderfully easygoing presence onstage, bonding with the audience like a friend.

Nada Surf is definitely one of my all-time favourite bands. I have seen them play nearly every show in NYC since '07 and I am NEVER, EVER disappointed. On top of that, The Music Hall of Williamsburg is a great venue! I recommend seeing a show here and I ALWAYS recommend seeing Nada Surf. Not only are they so talented, they are incredibly sweet. Often they can be found mingling with their fans before and after their shows. I LOVE THEM!

I've seen Nada Surf live around ten times and they have never disappointed. Matthew tells great stories that connect the crowd to the songs even more so. He doesn't talk too much so as to take away from the musical experience. He gives just the right amount of pertinent gems of info. Matthew said he was fighting off a cold, but you wouldn't be able to tell by his singing. They played a good mix of new and older songs. I was so happy to hear "Killian's Red"! I hope they come back to California soon.

Incredible intimate venue. Band was tremendous. They offered to meet people after the show, and even connect local musicians to form bands! They hung out after the show, signed autographs, and took fan photos. Matthew even came out and sung an acoustic version of "Blizzard Of 77" for those that stayed after the show. They were so complimentary of the fans and truly seemed to appreciate everyone's support. It was unlike any other band I've seen.

These guys were amazing live! They chose a great selection of songs off of all their albums and have an amazing stage presence. They played a pretty long set and broke it up with some talking in between :) These guys are VERY appreciative of their audience and fans. <3 I would definitely see them again!

Thanks to Nada Surf for a terrific night of music. I never saw them before, but have become a fan since "The Weight Is A Gift." They played a lot of my favorite tracks, and were much more high-energy and rockin' than I would have guessed. Matthew Caws's voice is just as excellent live.

It was wonderful being at the Paradise to see Nada Surf. The music sounded great, I had a great view, and enjoyed the entire show. I am a bigger fan of Nada Surf than ever. I hope to attend the paradise for more shows.

I got the tickets to go with someone else as a gift, but having "studied up" over the last month, I figured I'd know enough of their songs to enjoy the show. Not only did I enjoy the show, but it took my appreciation of the band to a whole new level! They sounded great live and played with super energy, keeping the whole show a lot of fun. Now I'm buying the albums so I can sing along with more of the songs next time! There will definitely be a next time.

Not crowded, wish a few older songs were mixed in......great audience participation. Happy i saw NADA SURF period. Sound up in the balcony was muffled, carpet on the floors not suitable for proper acoustics. upstairs could have used more speakers to even things out. This is at the paradise in alston MA

I've seen Nada Surf live 6-7 times over the years, and this was my 3rd time seeing them at the Fonda. This particular crowd sucked horribly. Nobody was into the music at all. I know LA crowds are infamous for just standing around but I've never seen such a lifeless audience for a rockin band in my life. I was also not a big fan of the set list. I realize they have a new album to promote, but let's face it, it's nowhere near as good as earlier efforts like, "Let Go." So with the new songs taking priority, older classics that I always love (no pun intended) to hear live took a backseat. But, as the title says, a bad Nada show is still better than a lot of other bands.

Let me first start by saying, that I am a HUGE Nada Surf fan. I bought 6 tickets for their first US show. First, let's start by talking about their support band, An Horse. Wow...now a band doesn't want to be upstaged, but I wanted to kill myself. Worst ever. All I can say. Now Nada. Their new record sucks. Let's be honest. The problem is, that a band has to play a number of new songs in a set to promote. This is a problem, because their previous material was so good and as a result were to play WAY less of that. They looked tired and unenthusiastic. Plus, they made a TON of mistakes. Wasn't pretty...sad really.

I have loved Nada Surf since they stumbled into a cheesy Santa Barbara landmark "Toes Tavern"...just after they released "The Proximity Effect" on their own label. Have been listening with keen interest ever since. Some of the nicest guys in rock and fantastic players. A great night for me, I enjoyed it as much as I had hoped I would.

I've yet to see a mediocre Nada Surf show, and this was no different. The Wonder is a great venue, intimate with good sound and very reasonable bar pricing. Nada Surf played 2 encores and a variety of songs from all LPs. They are a killer group and still under most everyone's radar. Opening act Telekinesis also played a nice set and was joined for a few songs by Anya (sp?) Marina and the finale with Matthew Caws.

I have seen Nada Surf every year since 1996. I love them! One of the best bands on the planet! They always put on an amazing show and always make time to meet with their fans afterwards. They played a lot of their new cover album, obviously, but they also played a lot of stuff off of their last three albums. Telekinesis was really great as well, although I wish the guitar and bass were louder. Their full length is constantly playing in my car, great album!

Great evening. Small venue made it really intimate and they played 2 sets - one was the entire Let's Go album in order. They then took a break and played another hour plus of amazing hits. The front man who is the main singer (sorry - don't know his name as he didn't introduce the band) is truly an artist. Plays all the guitar and sings amazingly well - never pushes it, just a beautiful voice. Highly recommend if you get a chance to see this tour. Saw them in San Francisco a couple years ago - they were great then as well.

The band members of Nada Surf are all masters at playing their parts of every song- they play flawlessly but i suppose i dont care for them as much as I thought or perhaps the setlist could have been better. My main complaint is that the set list was too short and i wanted to stay longer to hear more songs. Overall it was disappointing for me. I wanted more but i am a harsh critic....

This was my third time seeing these guys and they keep upstaging their last performance… They keep getting better and better. This show was at the rough trade record store and they made this small venue feel like an arena. They played songs off most of their discography and that night they played some hidden gems like ''end credits'', ''from the roof top'' ''No quick fix'' and ''everyone's on tour''. they engaged the crowd pretty well and had everyone either dancing or singing along. can't wait to see them when their in town again…if you haven't seen them, go…they will amaze you!!!

This is my second time seeing Nada Surf in NYC. First time was in Brooklyn when they were touring to promote Stars are Indifferent. When I saw them for the first time I would say I was just a fan who owned and really liked their last three albums. However, after seeing them live for the first time I was blown away at how energetic and amazing they sound live. I also heard many gems of theirs that I had not heard before. Needless to say, after that concert I downloaded all of their albums and my life has been changed forever. When I found out they were back in town, I just had to see them again. I admit I was a bit skeptical that they would be able to replicate the magic of the first time. Boy was I wrong! It was even more memorable the second time around! Truly amazing band!

I saw Nada Surf years ago when they were promoting Let Go (one of those rare perfect albums that few bands ever achieve) and couldn't wait to see them again here in Baltimore. They did not disappoint. Apparently, this was their last US gig before heading back to Europe and they (and their opening band, Waters) were very relaxed and in a partying kind of mood. There was plenty of audience participation - especially on the last song, where half the audience got up on stage with the band. I had heard that at previous gigs, the band was hanging around after the show and meeting the fans that hung around. They wound up doing it here as well and I was thrilled to get to meet both Matthew and Ira. Love this band. I could listen to Matthew's voice forever...

Nada Surf at the Old National Center was very enjoyable. The opening act, "Waters" got the crowd involved and was very talented. The venue was gorgeous, and the staff was all very helpful. I was a bit disappointed that Nada Surf did not play a few of their biggest hits, but overall they sounded very good (except on Blonde on Blonde, when somebody played in a different key or something went wrong)/
