A Boston show for Morcheeba is a standard on North American jaunts and I've been lucky enough to see the last few. Not having Paul backing everything up is a loss, but the touring musicians are quite capable. Solid performance of a range of songs from the catalog. I like a few tracks on The Antidote and Dive Deep that I haven't seen them do with Skye on stage, but such is life. All of the new tracks from Head up High were energetic and fun. We got to the venue early and grabbed a couch. It was like having them play live in my living room. So awesome for a date night! Jason

I don't know Skye (lead singer) personally but she has the most beautiful spirit inside and out. Voice like an angel, moves like a siren (entrancing) and really really funny. Top 3 shows of all time for me

It was a great show, I really enjoyed it. In live performance, Morcheeba sounds like a slightly different band than what you hear on their records. The songs came off more energetic, rockier, some of the songs were played a little faster than normal (i.e. than what's on their records) - they are a great live act! I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Last time Morcheeba came to Denver, they were without Skye, and while it was a very good show, it was nowhere near what we heard on Saturday. The energy was different, Skye had the audience hooked, and Ross was a great part of the show. The set list was dominated by songs from Big Calm and the new album, with sprinkles from Charango and Fragments of Freedom. All in all, I totally love their performance. One down note - the show did not have an announced opening act. So the fact that the band went on stage more than an hour past the show's scheduled start was disappointing and the unexplained wait took away from the overall experience. It appears that the pair of DJs on stage when the doors to the theater opened were meant to be an opening act. of some sort Perhaps a clarification of their status would've made it appear more as being part of the show and less of a disrespect for the fans who were waiting all that extra time in a standing-room only venue.

The music was good but the show time was listed as 7:30pm and no one came on stage until 10pm! No opening act, just people standing around waiting. Live Nation even sent a message thru their app providing an update at 9:50. Not cool on a Tuesday night! It was great to have Skye back; her voice is awesome. Heavy on older albums and played some new album, skipped the albums when Skye had left.

Morcheeba was one of the best band we have ever seen live. Vocal were absolutely beautiful. The band was amazing. The rapport between the band and audience was too friendly to be believed. They accepted drinks and smokes from the audience, they brought a few people up on stage a couple of times and seemed to truly enjoy performing. The seating arrangement for General admission was nice. They put stools along the railing on the edge of the main floor. Short people like us could see even with all the giants in the crowd. The only downsides to seeing Morcheeba live were touched upon by other reviews: 1. Waiting over 2 hours for a band to go on stage is unacceptable, plus there was no opening act. Zzzzzzzzzzz 2. Lowlifes in the audience who simply refuse to stop talking during the show and shout over the music to carry on a conversation. This seems to be getting worse and worse. It's not the bands fault, but 2 hours of boredom and drinking only amplified that situation.

I was pleased to see an entire band... wasn't sure if it would be a 'club tour' with limited performers. Skye Edwards was an amazing presence. Very entertaining and talented. If you're familiar at all with Morcheeba's 15-year career, you'll be pleased with the set list. They performed most of the 'Big Calm' album, as well as everything else you might hear on Pandora or XM Chill. Overall an excellent show. Only one song I was hoping for that wasn't played.... Shoulder Holster.

This ranks in my top favorite shows EVER. We arrived around 8pm and the venue was still fairly empty so we were able to stand right near the stage. The opener, Lance Herbstrong, was fantastic and definitely made us fans. There was a long wait between sets (probably 40 minutes, which is way too long) but Morcheeba was worth it. Skye is so beautiful and gracious and engaging and funny, and needless to say the music was incredible.

Interesting opening act, excellent performance of Morcheba . Lead guitar could/should explore lengthening each musical piece with improvisational jams. This could lead to the use of segues as needed. (very welcomed)

What was up with having 2 DJ's and a wannbe guitar player up there pretending to be a band????? That was just plain insulting to have to listen to. We came to see live bands play their OWN music and actually play real instruments. If I wanted the DJ experience I would go to a dance club. Also, tix said 8pm show, and the so called opener didn't go on until 9pm and the band not until 10:15. I do not expect to have to wait to see a band for 2 fricking hours!!!! Once Morcheeba was on...great band, though awful lighting!!! Could barely see them unless we looked on a monitor. Everyone around us was talking as if they were in a bar, so think by the time Morcheeba came on many people seemed to have lost interest. Clearly, they kept the audience waiting wayyyy too long. Next time will just stay home and listen to them on the IPOD.

Saw the Morcheeba show on Saturday night and got blown away by Sky's voice. I never saw her live and what a treat. It was even better than I thought it would be with a great song selection. They kicked off with "The Sea" and it kept going with a sweet smell hovering over the audience. Great show!

As always, Morcheeba reproduced their sound wonderfully live - great vibe. Skye is the perfect voice and front person for this super-chill band. Welcome back, Skye! Ross's guitar work defines the band sound, and the whole experience was a smooth, swaying cool event. Only complaint was the relatively short set list - IMHO, this band could stretch out more on songs and/or add a few more to thier set - although for the price, this was a great show. (Really wished they did "What do NY Couples Fight About" in NYC, though!)

Very glad that the Morcheeba of Godfreys & Skye is back, along with a tour. I thought the vibe in the Fillmore was very warm and folks generally had a good time. I was surprised by several reviews that complained some songs were slow - had you ever listened to Morcheeba before?! The band played a very good mix of up and down tempo, true to their LPs and cheeba-centric groove. Several older classics were mixed in with the more exciting tracks from the new album. THere was plenty of audience participation and even Skye remarked after seeing lots of us singing along that there must be many old school Morcheeba fans out there. :) All the members of Morcheeba looked happy and comfortable, and seemed to be having fun. The only complaint was that the between-tune banter feel a little flat and seemed rehearsed at times, more the energy during the very real, especially from Skye who easily alternated from sexy sultrist to trip hopping front-woman. The Fillmore was a good vibe for those who havent been. The history on the wall is really fun to review. The waitress and bartenders were fast and effective. There were several nooks to chat and zone out. The main room seemed intimate but not confined. The opening artist was soulful with a more-folksy Mazzy Star thing going. Then The Mumlers came on with a high-school jazz band chic sound. The audience was at first not sure about it, but then warmed up nicely to them. I was impressed by the numerous instrument talent they brought, and the signing talent was good. All in all, very enjoyable night.

Morcheeba is a great live jam band. Excellent guitar work and spectacular vocals, now that Skye has rejoined the band. However, they had problems with the mix last night at the Fillmore. They kept downmiking skye. Every time they miked her voice up hot, she got a ton of feedback. Really disappointing - you could only hear the nuances of her amazing voice on a couple of songs. The rest, otherwise, was great. Recommended live band - this band shines +1 live compared to their album work.

Morcheeba mesmerized the crowd with an unforgettable sonic blast that moved from a sinewy mix of down beat jazz to a driving, melodic guitar onslaught. Skye set up the listener with That Voice; drums and bass pinning you to the seat until you wrestled free to stand and dance. There are two equally great Morcheeba's. One on record and one live. Go see the live one. Run, don't walk.

Sooo glad Skye's back. Glad they gave us hometown crowd an absolute treat - Coming to Los Angeles was done brilliantly. Skye is by far the best female vocalist today - sorry but there's no debating that. Brilliant performance by the opening band. The crowd was absolutely fab - but what else would you expect from LA? However there weren't enough people with glaucoma in the crowd (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). I love this town.

I got it...this is a mellow gig. So, I recommend they do not play general admission shows. I would have preferred the show sitting and relaxing and totally vibing out over standing and falling asleep and wishing it were over. I wasn't a Morcheeba fan going in. I had never heard of them. But I realy might have enjoyed it more with the proper environment. I'm not the only one. Two other people we were with actually left during the concert. My date and I hung out in the lobby chatting most of the show.

Morcheeba was great, but they could picked a better opening act! I don;t think they complimented the band really well! The Music Box was pretty classy and entertaining to my nuance attitude, because that was my first time there. I wish I could of stayed for the whole show, but school! I hope to catch them again with a proper opening act to get the show on a more upbeat tone. That band was not the right mix. All in all Morcheeba put on a great show! Cheers to the rest of their tour!

I saw Morcheeba at the Fillmore in 2005 and it was a tremendous show. But the show the other night at the Warfield was a huge disappointment. The bottom line is that the band sleepwalked through the show. There was little energy and they appeared to be just hitting the notes without much thought. In particular, the bass, drums, and keys players were really off - they were robotic. The lead singer was solid and she's got stage presence but after awhile, her act started to feel as if she was just going through a routine set of moves and gestures. I half expected her to yell out Hello, Cleveland. The one exception to all of this was the lead guitar player. He showed energy and inventiveness, and he was the only member of that band that seemed present. He had some beautiful solos, with his warbling sound, and he also tore it up a few times. I wish the rest of the band could have been there with him. Tough to explain the wide disparity between the two shows. Perhaps they're bored at this point but still selling tickets, so why not still get out there. Ain't selling me another ticket, if that's where they're at.

What an incredible band! From start to finish every song was full of sensuality and passion.I drove from Monterey to see them and it took me nearly 2.5 hours because of heavy rain (and no treads on my tires!) but totally worth it! After what seemed like an eternity trying to find parking I ran from Metreon's parking garage and made it right as the opening act, The Mumblers, were coming on stage. The Mumblers were...rather mumbly but very humorous. Morcheeba was definitely shining that night. Sky is such a beautiful woman with an equally beautiful voice.

It's really cool when you plan going to a show and it works out that the band plays great, they play all the music you want to hear, they play new stuff that sounds great, and you walk away feeling like you had a great time. Morcheeba's show at The Warfield was that kind of show. The band ROCKED, Skye was beautiful and sang great. It was just a great time all the way around!!!!

This was a fantastic show. Morcheeba's performance was 1st rate and they have all of the energy and spirit that they've ever had. Head Up High is a great blend of classic band stylings with a foray into new, comfortable directions. They chose a set list which included my faves off of Head Up High, as well as great stuff from past albums. Opening with Make Believer gave me a much better appreciation of that track than what was recorded in the studio (especially percussion). Gimme Your Love pleasantly jolted me out of the blissful rut of The Sea a few tracks later. And then, the back-to-back-to-back-to-back of Otherwise, Crimson, Trigger Hippy and Blindfold took the crowd through a perfect tour of what I consider to be the best of their catalog. Bowie's Let's Dance was covered as well (fun, and well performed, but I prefer Skye's vocals alognside more fitting material). The encore was good, but I've seen them do better. I've also enjoyed past shows where they've done intimate numbers like Skye-over-Ross' acoustic "I Am the Spring". They did not do any of that this time, which I was a little bummed about. Skye and Ross interacted jovially with the crowd including selfies, and a lucky fan's phone-vid guided tour of the band performing. Mint! All told, Morcheeba still has it; they never lost it; and their new album rekindles what really makes them fantastic. And this band shines when performing live. I'll always make time to see them when possible. The band's DJ was good, but needed to be louder in the mix, I felt. Lighting was good, sound was average.

Never thought we would get the chance to see Morcheeba with Skye! The music was fantastic. Love both their old songs and the new songs off their new CD, Blood Like Lemonade. Skye was gorgeous in a red fringed, sequined dress. She has a very unique voice and was in top form. Morcheeba's unique sound, a mixture of rock and new age is a nice change from the ordinary and loved every minute of the show. Wish they would have played longer and more songs off of Charango.

Morcheeba is more complete with Skye! I've seen them in concert without her and I thought they were good. Her style and stage presents simply captivated me.

Showbox Market has always been one of my favorite venues in Seattle & I've seen Morcheeba there before in Dec '05, but that time was without their original lead singer, Skye...they were great then, but I gotta tell ya, Skye is absolutely mind-blowing! Her singing style is truly intoxicating & her adorable, bubbly, playful personality was incredibly charismatic. I will never forget that show & VERY HIGHLY recommend anyone/everyone catch Morcheeba live if presented even half a chance...I would drive multiple hundreds of miles to catch them if the weren't already coming to my city. I just wish they could make it out to their favorite US (Seattle) city more often! (their own words, not mine)

I've been following Morcheeba for years and I always make it out to their Seattle shows. I was so excite to see Skye since she wasn't with the band the last time I saw them. As usual, she and the band sounded amazing and played a wide variety of songs that spanned their career as a band. I just wish I hadn't been sick so I could have enjoyed it more. Sick or no, I wouldn't miss my chance to see Morcheeba.

great show. The music box is a great venue and perfect for the dreamy melodic voice of Skye. She was amazing and so was the lead guitarist. They were also very amusing and funny with the crowd and put on a great show. They did 3 songs in their encore. Very cohesive and good flow to the performance. The crowd was great too.

I was thrilled to see that Skye Edwards is back with the band, and she/they did not disappoint. They sang about half the songs from their most recent album, half the songs from Charango, and my favorites from Fragments of Freedom. Their banter and energy on stage were fun, and the music was great (as always). Plus, the Music Box was an amazing, intimate venue for the show. 5 stars, all around!

I recommed morcheeba! But if your disabled and cant stand dont go to the warfield unless you enjoy looking at the back of people all night. The worst wheelchair section Ive been to in this day and age.

LOVED LOVED LOVED!! the opening band was cute but just too low energy for MOrcheeba. It was painful to listen to the Mumlers. They sound good online but in person the music wasn't mixed well, you couldn't hear the singer and the drums were NOT in sync. Disappointing. BUT MORCHEEBA WAS SOOOO AMAZING!

This vocalist has an amazing voice.... when she SINGS. She spent half this show blabbing on and made the audience sing half the songs. Very very annoying.

This happens to be one of my favourite shows ever. Morcheeba was AMAZING! It's so wonderful having Skye back! She looked and sounded incredible and so did Paul and Ross. They played for over two hours, opening with "The Sea" and closing with "Blindfold" with a nice mix of old favs and songs from their new album "Blood Like lemonade." What an incredible evening!

I agree with all the other reviewers here- Morcheeba put on an incredible show. Skye is back with the group- she was very sexy and her voice was extremely sultry. She is a true pro ... a singing goddess. A full band filled out the stage, and all performers were top notch. Everyone on stage looked like they were having a blast, and my hometown LA crowd gave them much love. The mood was classic Morcheeba- stony psychedelic, after-hours chill vibe. I love LA! I hope Morcheeba plays more shows soon, I'd love to see them again!

Such a great vibe Morcheeba radiate. It was complimented by the fact that they played at the Warfield, which is my favorite SF venue. Skye was stunning, both with her seductive voice and mohawk.
