Absolutely amazing talent on this stage tonight! William's voice is truly something magical. This music gets into your soul and won't ever let go! Luke & Dorie were fabulous too. Simply too incredible to put it into words - it's a feeling that encompass your entire spirit.

This was an amazing night filled with the most wonderfully talented musicians! William, Luke & Dorie played with pure passion and soulfulness. Their music will never, ever disappoint whether it be their acoustic sessions or full band. Loved every moment of this night!

Topley
William Topley, former frontman for the British band The Blessing, returned to Denver and Boulder Colorado on Fri/Sat, Sept.9 &10. Topley has reconnected with his old bandmates and has a new, all electric CD, "South on Velvet Clouds". The last performances have been acoustic shows featuring the album, "Water Taxi". Topley is a unique talent and has thrilled this fan for years. Both shows were, well, simply great! I hope more people discover William Topley and I hope he (and the band) will continue to come to the US (usually appearing only in Colorado, Portland, OR and Nashville, TN with an occasional visit to the East Coast. Topley is a rare talent!

Topley has a voice that grows on you. He sounds great in concert but you can tell as the night goes on the Alchohol starts affecting his performance. Be prepared for a long night of standing and dancing. This music makes you move and feel good!! I've been a fan for a long time but this is the first time I have seen him Live. Guitar player is freakin awesome as well.

I love Topley and he was incredible, like always! He sounds better in person than on a CD! I wish the concerts would start a bit earlier. Most of Topleys fan base are 40-50ish people. We has to leave early unfortunately because we have kids and needed to get home by midnight to let the babysitter go. I dont know if anyone else has that issue.....

I still say William Topley is undervalued; his voice is unparalleled, and never disappoints. It is clear the band struggles to make ends meet, and I find that frustrating given how good they are. I confess to preferring the full band sound to the acoustic, but understand the economics of the situation...

It was great to see William Topley in the venue of the Bluebird Theatre. I'm wondering why the Bluebird chooses not to have seating - 3-4 hours of standing is pretty unbearable and would be the qualifier for recommending the Bluebird to others. We very much enjoyed the show but we did leave early because we couldn't take it anymore. We have been to a number of concerts at the Paramount and the Boulder Theatre both of which have seating which made all the difference for us! It was also a little warm especially for William Topley. Not sure what can be done about that but he was visably uncomfortable. Overall we did enjoy the show but probably wouldn't go back to this venue unless seating was provided.

Saw two shows this weekend in Denver. Saturday night show blew everyone away. The word has got to get out about William Topley. He is one of a kind and the magic he weaves with his voice, the poetry of his lyrics and the able hands of Luke Brightey on guitar and Dorie Jackson on backing vocals is truly special. EVERYONE, GO SEE WILLIAM TOPLEY, look him up on the web, buy his music.

Topley is always amazing. Unfortunately, the venue ruined the show. It was an acoustic performance with William and his two side players 'The Sea Gypsies'. The venue provides virtually no seating. The opening act, Nikol, was a young, local artist who should not, by rights have been sharing the bill. She had a pleasant enough voice, but no real skill with her songwriting or guitar playing. She made a brave effort for a little more than 1/2 hour, but each song sounded essentially like every other, plodding and self-indulgent. The crowd had far too much time to swill beer, so that by the time WT took the stage, the place was dominated by drunken rowdys, who whistled, shouted and pounded their feet throughout the next two hours, making it almost impossible to hear this profoundly nuanced performer. He was clearly not thrilled with the venue, and seemed to be daunted by the heat onstage (can they at least place a fan offstage?) which he complained of and which did seem to take the edge off his energy. None the less, Topley was great and it was a privelege to see him in an intimate setting. Would have just preferred it be in a place where a more respectful crowd could have appreciated him.

Yes it was hot, yes he was a little crabby, but William knows how to entertain! He and his band member Luke played so superbly. If ever have a chance to hear William Topley live, do so. He puts on a great show.!

Beautiful songs beautifully performed. It is a shame more people don't know about William Topley. This semi-acoustic trio was our favorite Topley performance yet (we have seen many). We drove down from the San Juan Islands just to see this show. It was well worth the trip. We hope he will continue to come to the Pacific Northwest.

William Topley s concert in Portland OR at the Mission Theatre was a first for me my first William Topley concert (but certainly not my last!), and my first experience of the Mission Theatre, which is old and funky, but definitely fun. The band opened with Sycamore Street and I was immediately mesmerized by Topley s unique, powerful vocals. I was blown away by his voice the first time I heard him on the radio, and hearing him LIVE absolutely surpassed all my expectations. This man could sing the ingredients list on a cereal box and it would be the best thing you ever heard! The band moved with ease between old favorites and new songs from the latest release, Water Taxi, including an awesome acoustically revamped version of Delta Rain which opened their second set. The show was a great mix of familiar tunes and new music, William and Luke did some fantastic guitar jams, and Dorie s accompanying vocals were perfect. This acoustic show definitely rocked the house! I m already eagerly awaiting the next concert in Portland I hope they'll be back soon!

William Topley was fantastic. His voice and harmonies were so sweet in person. His guitarist, I don't remember his name was awesome! The venue was perfect for an accoustic performance. I will look for more events at that location.

William's voice fills the hall as always. He is getting more comfortable in this newer trio format, and the harmonies with Dorie and Luke are maturing. The new songs are more wistful, but the poerty of his words and the joy he brings to each show never fail to amaze. For someone who has not had a record contract for several years to have people lining up 2 hours before showtime is a testament to his continued excellence. We are just lucky that he comes to Portland (and Boulder/Denver) on a somewhat regular basis.

The Mission is the perfect venue for William. We all enjoyed the close intimate setting as we did last time he was in town!
