Strangefolk

The Strangefolk Reunion was unbelievably amazing. They were apart for 12 years and never missed a beat. I could close my eyes and be anywhere at any time in the 90s. The energy was palpable. The crowd was on fire, the band was on fire, it was one of the best SF shows I have ever seen.

The place was packed and electric. Strangefolk played two very good sets. The first set i stayed back before going up front for the second set. It was clear the crowd exploded when Reid Genauer played his songs. It was as if he had been gone for twelve years. Assembly of Dust fans know better. AOD is a better band. Adam Terrell(lead guitar) and John Leccese(bass) play as well as anyone you will ever see. And thats the difference. So all you Reid fans; Reid has never left only gotten better. Where have you guys been for the last twelve years!

The amount of bars inside, space, coat locker and balcony made this years stop at paradise perfect!

the drinks were so expensive.. 6.50 for bud light bottle... the place was soooo jammed u couldn't even move. the band came out over half hour late. and i was not impressed with the set.. left early... very disappointing

I've listened to these guys for over 15 years. I've seen them all over New England. Reid, Strangefolk and AOD have been a huge part of my life, and influenced me substantially as a musician. However, this will certainly be the last time I see Strangefolk live. The show really disappointed me. The performance was stagnant and boring. The sound mixing was distorted. The guitar solos lacked creativity and grew redundant after only a couple of tracks. The set break was much too long. The set list was mediocre at best - but the last straw for me was a long, drawn out cover of the *rivetingly exciting* "Hey Jude" at closing on a Saturday night in Boston. That right there is where they lost me. I actually left and didn't see their final track. Lame show. Overbooked and too crowded. I can honestly say that I don't believe I have ever been bored at a show before, until now.

Unforgettable night at the State Theater. We had front balcony seats which are the best seats in the house by far. The lightshow was amazing. Strangefolk played all my favorite songs from their studio albums. We had a great time and hope we don't have to wait another 12 months to hear them again! BRAVO!

Great band, wish I could hear more but the sound was so loud that it created distortion in my ears (that same annoying overtone that happens when 4 or more teenage girls start screaming at once). Unfortunately we had to leave at set break, my ears still feel numb after 2 days.

What a venue!! And the folksters were jammy!! This was a Luke show without question, and he brought it. Hopefully we hear Rachel next time around. And the light show looks GREAT!!

They sounded great, and felt like I was 20 again. Great venue as well!!

had a great time. hope they keep the "reunion tour" going for another 15 years or so

This show was amazing and the band was tight. Not sure who was signing louder, the band or the crowd. Was so good to hear them back together!

Strangefolk was as amazing as they have ever been!!

I only got to see the last show of the 4, in Portland. It was super high energy from both the band and the audience. I've heard the other 3 shows and they were excellent as well. Playing and singing was top notch. Just totally sick. I can not thank them enough.

The sound and light show was totally awesome. It was like a family reunion to run into people I haven't seen in a long time. Everyone was dancing and singing their songs.

Once the speaker on stage right kicked on 3/4s of the way through the first set, the sound was great!

Amazing, it was all i expected from our favorite band and so much more . Tight all around playing and singing.. Such a pleasure seeing old friends and family . The State ? Last time i was there was for Strangefolk on a New Year's Eve and the place was hurting . Nice job bringing back a treasure , keep up the good work.

this was a show of top caliber. They played awesome, the sound was great, as well as the light show. I would recommend anyone that hasn't seen Strangefolk to get off your butt the next time they come around and go to the show.

some things are worth waiting 12 years for. A good bottle of wine or whiskey but a band? the answer is yes if you are talking about Strangefolk with the original lineup. They rocked the State from start to finish. They were great at the final Eden show but I think they topped it with this show. Hats off to Luke Smith. Have to give him most improved drummer; he tore the skins off his set. Can't wait to see this foursome again.

I'm still in awe and goosebumpy. I hope they plan on doing shows more often - even a yearly event... amazing show.

Exceptional show- it was so fun to see the original line-up reunited. They were amazing!
