Enjoyed every moment of it. Crowd reaction every single music played.

This was the second time that I saw the Afro-Latin Orchestra this year.And this was just as great as the show at Symphony Space early this year.I can`t wait for the next cd.This was an excellent and animated collaboration with Dr .Cornel West.

I was so excited to go to such a beautiful, historic venue like the Apollo, but was so disappointed and upset when I came away, both from the poor performance quality that I put my friends through, and the negative political rants of the director and his guest, Cornell West. I didn't show up for a racist pep-rally, I came for a Jazz and Spirit concert. I guess I should have done my research beforehand, as I would never have gone had I known it would be the loud, emotional rantings of an angry Socialist, yelling over music I was trying to listen to. He came in the name of love, but everything he said was so inflaming and backhanded, that I think he made the gap of misunderstanding even larger instead of bringing people to the table to further advance race relations. Some of the songs were good, but it took me a while to get over the crackling speakers, and the very poorly mixed sound for the choir (I could hear two people very predominantly for most of the time).

Wow! What an amazing night. Kudos to the entire team responsible for this amazing piece of work. Thank you for the incredible music, and the addition of Dr Cornell West made this truly magical. This is something that you definitely don't realize you need on your bucket list, but then you attend and almost slap yourself for almost missing a special experience.

Arturo O'Farrill is one of America's treasures. Mind boggling compositions and jaw dropping instrumentalists. If you get a chance to see this orchestra, do not miss it! Mesmerizing from the first note to the last.

The event was great. I loved the latin/afro sounds of the music. Very danceable music. I found it very interesting that a synagague temple would host events like this but it's a very innovative way to cover the overhead expenses. I like the relax atmosphere that the templey has to offer. The only complain I have is that the event was half and hour late getting started.

Do you like jazz? Do you like big band jazz? Well, this is for you. Great musicality and talent. Wonderful improvisation which allows you to still find the main melody. Kudos to clarinetist Anat Cohen. She is fabulous!

in addition to the doors opening 2 hours late, the concert starting an hour late, confusion about seating all minor compared to the concert. we left at intermission with a headache and ears ringing. loud could have been the name of the concert and loud and chaotic could have been the name of the bernstein conduced work. it was impossible to discern the soloists, excepting the clarinet soloist who was fabulous but frequently drowned out by the blasting horns. and arturo, we never heard him at all. the venue was too small for that group, they were too loud for that space and it became just a wall of sound. we moved around a couple times, thinking it was us, that we just were in bad seats, but no, we weren't. we heard Gretchen parlato at 6th and i and it was great, just right for the space.
