This is my second time seeing "Caravan Palace" and I wished the whole night was JUST "Caravan Palace". That "opener band" which was burlesque/DJ combo was just awful... I mean the dudes in the audience were enjoying themselves, but I came there to see "Caravan Palace" not that first group.

As much as I want to give this a five star review, the opening act and a quirk of the venue brings it to a three and a half or four stars. As promiced, we got our tickets scanned shortly after seven. We shuffled into the venue and started to wait for the show to start. After about one and a half or two hours later the opening act came out and asked if "[they] just improv for thirty minutes. " we cheered, eager for something besides the same three songs on loop. The best thing about them was they were done after thirty minutes as promiced. To be fair, the last fifteen minutes were somewhat enjoyable. But the first half composed primarily of what i can only describe as poorly synthesized whale songs. Once the alien probe heard whales and went on its way, the opening act started breaking down. After roughly another thirty minutes, Caravan Palace finally came on stage. From the moment they came on stage they came out swinging (pun intended). The set list below is incomplete, but generally the order in which the songs were played. Every song had lots of energy and you could tell they weren't half-assing it because we were a comparatively small venue. Everyone was really into it and having a good time. We danced, we jumped up and down, we clapped with the beat, and we screamed and applauded after every song. The set list was well rounded from their library and I didn't walk away wishing for any particular song they didn't include. Eventually, it had to end. The band took their bows, and told us they loved playing for us and said they wanted to come back and do it again. Considering I drove 4 hours to make the show (Atlanta was the closest stop to where I live), I sincerely hope that they were sincere. They walked off stage and we shuffled out the door listening to "Hotel California". Despite the rocky opening, it was a powerhouse show that I would gladly attend again

show started 45 minutes late, only played 1 hour 15 minutes. Great when they played but disapointing considering time and money invested to see them.

Before they even came out there energy was in the air. There was suppose to be two opening acts but there was only one. So as soon as the first act was done they came out. Thier energy and how the connect with the fans is so amazing. From the start of their first song to the end everyone was dancing and singing and blown away.

This is a fun, high energy, unique band made up of a crew of enormously talented musicians and singers. Every one of the musicians plays a minimum of two instruments (more in some cases) and plays them well. On top of that, every single person in the band (especially the singer) has an abundance of stage presence that makes this such a fun band to watch and dance to. Next time they're back in town, I'm there!

Caravan was a delicious spectacle for the eyes, ears and soul ;) the singer is a sexy french cutie who just entrances the whole crowd. the rest of the band were awesome musicians. they looked like they were just enjoying themselves on stage. apart from the band, the crowd was not your typical nightclub crowd. there was a wide range of interesting people attending. made a couple new friends! RECOMMENDED

Caravan Palace combines electronica sounds with the upbeat melodies of swing, creating a super fun, high energy concert. The band has tons of energy and was very talented musically. They even had a special guest of Quest Crew! That was a great surprise. Opener was solid too. Overall super fun dance concert

Doors opened at 8 pm. Opening act started at 9 was not even impressive. Then another 40 minutes elapsed before Caravan Palace was finally all set up. Not sure if the group was late or if the venue was at fault for the long delays. Thankfully there was a good DJ playing music during the breaks. I nearly left because I was so tired of waiting, but waiting was definitely worth it. Caravan Palace is PHENOMENAL live - even better than I had anticipated.

By far the greatest concert I have ever been to. It was a little annoying having to wait a couple hours before Caravan Palace went on. But the DJ was ok and Red Light District wasn't bad either. but neither compared to the excitement and energy that Caravan brought to the stage. Though It was quite warm, I didn't mind jumping to the beat of all the fantastic songs. The band plays their many instruments with so much life and enthusiasm, that's reason enough to see them, but it doesn't stop there. Zoe's adorable personality and amazing dance moves keep the show at an extremely high pace and doesn't dream of stopping and it is amazing. The other members of the band each play their own role perfectly and keep motivating the crowd to remain excited. The surprise visit from Quest Crew was a great idea as well. My only complaints are the somewhat short performance length (about 1 hour and 45) and the lack of a couple great CP songs (Dragons and Dramophone). But regardless I recommend anyone who wants a great time whether you're 18 or 80 should see this unique group!

A fabulous concert, energetic crowd, the opening act wasn't great, but it was in the right genre and served as a good lead in. Caravan Palace are amazing performers and they produce the most highly polished Electro-Swing sound possible, beautifully mending together the sounds of the past with those of the modern electronic age. There were a wide variety of ages represented at this concert, children to middle-aged and they all loved every minute of it. I can't recommend Caravan Palace highly-enough, this concert was incredible.

The show started at roughly 9:00 p.m., and I was immediately dazzled by Red Light District. The female singer had great sex appeal, and really got me into their music. The songs were well written, delightfully performed, and she kept the crowd interested through the whole set. (She even had me meowing the chorus to one of their songs, and it was divine.) The Caravan Palace happened. WOW. Is all I can say. Words cannot even describe how into the performance everyone was, it was a spectacle to be seen. In the midst of all of this, RLD came into the audience and we got to meet them, and that was a key to the evening being a success. I can't wait to see both of them again, please come to Las Vegas!

Great band marred by inconsistent sound quality. The quality of the music and the energy of the show were impressive. I had problems hearing the little things because the sound was just too heavy and loud on the bass side. The lead singers voice was drowned out a lot of the time which was too bad since she is quite excellent. I would love to hear them again but would perhaps prefer a different venue. One of the great things about the band is their clarity and that did not come through. This is not a run of the mill band with one board setting fits all. Still it was great to see such a talented group.

What a great show and TLA was the perfect small venue; especially considering that this band packs large concert halls and auditoriums in Europe. The crowd was amazingly enthusiastic and the band rewarded that with a premium performance.

I was expecting some sort of DJ setup. Little did I know that they were a band much like streetlight manifesto in the sense that they have tons of instruments and play them all. They had a crowd presence and energy much like streetlight in fact. The main point is that this band was amazing and I would have gladly dropped $100 a ticket to see them (it was only $25).

Combination of instruments and music styles was refreshing and appealing. At times I was wondering who is having more fun, the public ot the musicians. Definitely is a must-to-dance event, listening alone would be like watching a Russian/Greek wedding from far away - you have to be a part of this show to feel the energy and shake off any stress you've accumulated. Is Gypsy Jazz even an official term?! Well, in any case, I like it!

Band was 1hr late getting onstage. No announcement of delay or apology when they started. Played for 1.5 hrs. Good music. Entertaining to watch. A little too much with the spot lights which made it hard to see them. Fire alarm went off and show ended. Disappointing to pay good money for only 1.5 hrs of music total.

Caravan Palace is a fantastic group. They have great stage energy, and the music and lighting was on point (There was some intense flashing lights though, epileptics beware) The music really gets your heart pumping, and later in the concert, quite a few people in the sparsely filled mezzanine level moved to the middle and started dancing! I was originally super confused on account of not realizing there was an opening act, so that detracted from my experience from the beginning. Would definitely see another concert if I got the chance!

Great band-Great show-great songs the first part before the show was too long The Bass during the show were off chart and drowned the amazing musician and the voice of the singer. I was suffering of the bass and could not enjoy the play list altough it is one my favorite band of all time. Last year concert was much more balance and although the acoustic at the concert place last year in San Francisco was far ;lower than this great Fox theater in oakland , I enjoyed the show of last year a lot more. Please, rebalance your sound! Thank you

We saw Caravan Palace at the Fox Theatre which is a great place to see a band this size. They performed the majority of their hit songs. Unlike other groups, CP is made up of real musicians that all play more than one instrument. Even Zoe can play clarinet though she didn't at this concert. The boys were running back and forth between guitar, violin, clarinet, xylophone, electric string base, base sax, trombone, drum pads, dual turn tables and several keyboards. The number and variety of instruments give their particular swing a much more "lush" sound that some other groups. I hate singling out any of the group as I like ALL of them! But, Antoine is an especially good DJ and the tracks, loops and effects he uses mesh perfectly with the live instrumentation and vocals. Zoe is an accomplished, entertaining main singer. Huges and the rest all contribute vocally to create a wide variety of songs. And that's one of CP's best selling points; there isn't one member that's weak or replaceable in my opinion; they really work extremely well as a team. What's more, the members were very animated during the concert which makes them fun to watch as well as listen to. Speaking of listening... they have especially upbeat tunes that make your butt move whether you like it or not! Their accuracy and pace was nearly flawless though not exactly the same as the album versions of their songs. But that's what you want in a concert; the music you expect but with novel "live" differences. So, if you want to see a concert with bouncy, fun music, Caravan Palace is a top recommendation. As a side plus, the audience was great too. The age ranged from early 20s to 60s. They weren't their filming the entire thing with their phones or trying to act like jerks. We were all there to watch, listen and jump around like crazy!

This venue is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. The sound is pretty loud and I should have brought ear plugs but that's on me haha. Plenty of room to dance and it's staggered so even short people like me can always see the stage. I saw Caravan Palace at the Regency in San Francisco two years ago. At the time I thought it was the most fun show I had ever been to. I wondered if they could possibly be as great as I remembered them. They absolutely are. We were jumping and dancing the entire night. Their musicianship is incredible, their songs and beats are powerful, and their stage presence is off the charts. I can't wait to see them again. The Fox Theater has air vents in the floor which was AMAZING for me because I always dance until I'm dripping with sweat. This time I could dance all night and stay nice and cool. Also, there were Furries in the crowd. So creepy, but funny. Awesome show!!

Caravan Palace themselves were great, had a professional couple swing dancing next to us which was also incredibly fun to watch. My only complaint was the opening act, Lab Rabbits. Aside from Caravan Palace not coming on until 9:30 (doors at seven), this opening act was thirty minutes of really bad Alternative Trance or something similar. Didn't enjoy the opener at all, nor did anyone I was there with. Please find similar opening acts to tour with, or at least ones who don't suck at their own genre :x

Caravan Palace was awesome. They were energetic, funny and spot on for all their songs and the lighting was great. They didn't have much room on stage to spread out and really have fun, but they did a great job with what they had. They got the sound dialed in really well, especially considering the venue, so they sounded really good and you could actually tell what you were listening to. The Masquerade was quirky, but mostly pretty terrible. They only took cash and the only ATM in the building was broken. No AC and a closed space, top floor show meant it was about 120 degrees before the show even started and it got stifling. We wound up leaving before the show ended because it was so uncomfortable. They for some reason set up a poptent for the sound guy in the middle/back which obscured the view of the stage to all of us not in the pit who would have otherwise had a nice clear view. Not sure if the roof leaked really bad and they needed to keep the equipment dry or what, but it was obnoxious.

Caravan palace was an excellent band, featuring soloists, a wide variety of sounds and swinging, jazzy goodness. I'm a little biased considering they're my favorite artist, but in taking two of my friends to the Atlanta show, they said they enjoyed it greatly, even my metal head friend. All in all it is a great must see for anyone who enjoys this french band's take on electro-swing, a must see for fans and a good time for new-comers!!!

Caravan Palace was very impressive but I was not happy about waiting 3 hours after the doors opened for them to come onstage. A bizarre musical improv group (that did not seem to be even in the same genre as Caravan Palace) came onstage for about 30 minutes as what seemed like almost an afterthought after 2 and a half hours of standing around and waiting while the lights were dimmed and flashed (entertaining for about 15 minutes).I understand not coming on right away and I'm sure the 7PM time on the flyer was just when the doors open, but I thought for sure the main act would have come on after 2 hours of waiting around. Once they did come onstage there was no acknowledgement of the wait. That being said, they did a wonderful job once onstage and it was very impressive to see real instruments being played and some of the dancing was great. Would have been an amazing experience if they had come out on time. After two hours of nothing we were debating how much longer to stay. Glad we did get to see them, but ended up having to leave early as my significant other has some medical issues that do not allow for very long periods of standing (a concert that lasts a few hours - totally okay; a concert that doesn't even get started for a few hours - not really okay).

Something I never thought I would be able to experience but they must be doing well in the states. The place was very crowded (I didn't know they had so many fans in ATL) it almost looked sold out, they could definitely play a larger venue next time around. The show was so awesome I loved it. A very unique experience for sure! They did play some new stuff that I didn't recognize which is always cool. There was a pretty cool after party as well.

As usual; they put on a REAL HIGH ENERGY show with swinging music. Dancing ruled on the stage and on the floor of the HOB's ! THe fifth time I've seen them perform; they've played larger venues in Monteal and filled them. The US shows have been in smaller venues; but subsequently larger and each getting sold out. The show kept me dancing (and the whole audience dancing) throughout.

I went into this show with very high expectations after seeing some videos of their live shows abroad. I'm happy to say my expectations were met, and then some! These guys have phenomenal stage presence and clearly were having a good time. They clearly displayed their talent as performers in many respects, as their music and singing was spot-on, not to mention their natural ability to whip the audience into a frenzy. Some of the songs even incorporated rather impressive swing dancing. Also, forget rap-battles, they have introduced the new wonder that is the "scat-battle." This was their first show in the US they said after getting on stage. I'll be dang sure to see them again if they're back in the States.

I was expecting quite a show from Caravan Palace, given their lively reputation and raucous club electro swing records. Perhaps I wasn't expecting such artistry and talent from, what I perceived to be, a largely electric product. The band pounds and hits their synths as heavily and as superbly as they thump their bass and play their violin. They play tracks that don't make you move as much as outright demand it. Intricate solos and band-member duels abound as they seamlessly move from hit to hit. Sonia Fernandez Velasco is lovely and heightens the band's sound every time she emerges from her multitude of wardrobe changes. The show was slightly shorter than I would have liked, but given their energy and enthusiasm, I couldn't imagine mere mortals lasting much longer than they did on stage. A great performance all around and a hell of a lot of fun.

So glad I got out to this. I love the vibe of electro swing. The dancing, the fashion! These 2 bands draw in the coolest crowd. People watching is almost as fantastic as the bands. Red Light District is the perfect elegant, yet quirky, compliment to Caravan Palace. The Red Light District band seemed to be having a lot of fun and got everyone tuned up for Caravan Palace. The lead singer was taking it up a notch with her sexy voice and dangerous curves. I like a retro sound mixed with the new. It's so different and refreshing to hear in comparison to what is mainstream. Caravan Palace was the cream in my coffee! Loved them! So much energy! Truly what it means to put on a SHOW. You kind of feel like you've stepped back in time, but then the electric sounds make you think you might be in the future. I will definitely go again.... but hopefully not at the Fonda. Not a fan of this venue. I think the Fonda forces you to buy balcony seats (before the floor sells out), so they fill it up near the end ... then they won't let you down on the floor.

If these guys aren't booked for the major festival circuit (coachella, edc ect.), it will be a crime against humanity. These guys have the perfect blend of live instrumentation and backing tracks, creating the illusion of parisian gypsy electro house, and it is extremely fun music.
