This was the first time in a very long time that I have been to a Symphony. I took my Grandson and Daughter to the concert. He doesn't talk much. However, on the way to his home, he and I were "Chatterboxes". He is studying the violin and plays it day and night. This concert also gave me, a 69 year old, the desire to start another band even though my music is Blues and old Rock & Roll.

The music was flawless and captured the imagination. The conductor was brilliant in that he shared some of the history behind the music and both he and the orchastra were full of energy. My wife especially enjoyed the music as she is Russian and the music to her was heard by her while growing up in Russia. She was beaming with pride as the music played.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. The Symphonie played so well I could have listened to them for hours. The crew from Cirque de la Sa, was amazing. I am in awe of the movements and risk involved in their presentation. I would definetly go again.

The conductor was thrilling as always and the orchestra played outstandingly well as usual. I enjoyed the rendition of the national anthem with the lovely UWF singers group along with the childrens choir group. Overall a great and moving experience with the Transmigration Of Souls by John Adams. It evoked a roller coaster of emotions I didn't know I still carried with me all these years. Thank you!

Orchestra and singer were both great. I would have preferred less talking and intro to each song. I had anticipated the singer would wear a Sinatra style hat in a few songs, but he never did. Would have been a great accent.

Wonderful Symphonyh Orchestra. Christopher Vadala was fantastic and made the entire evening. The only negative comment I have is that the entire repertoire was not condusive for the excitement that should have been displayed on New Year's Eve. The program seemed to be designed for the enjoyment of the orchestra in that the selections were those that appeared to what the members loved playing most whereas the music should have leaned more to the anticipation of the audience who, at least I, would have preferred a lighter and more whimsical presentation. Perhaps an example of what would have been more appreciated would have taken the approach of The Boston Pops--light and lively and less serious and somber--at least on this night.

Great Venue, Fantastic Music, Fun Cosplay Characters. Of course Peter and the orchestra did John Williams proud but what really set the evening off was the cosplayers bringing Mr. Williams' music to life. I would love to see more of this type of thing.

Highly recommend this show, as it was fantastic. I love the PSO and John Williams, so this was a double win. Hearing the scores in person as opposed to through headphones really brought out some nuances that I had not noticed before. During the show, they had characters from the movies come out in costume (Stormtroopers during Imperial March, e.g.). This in itself was really cool, but what was annoying was all the fans applauding right in the middle of the theme. I was there to listen to music, not see costumes, so I was disappointed to miss some of my favorite parts of some scores due to applause. I understand the excitement, but applause in the middle of a musical piece is not appropriate for the symphony (maybe if it were a Bruce Springsteen concert, sure) - for this, I subtract a star to an otherwise outstanding performance.

Enjoyable. Tell the actors in the tableaux to stop hamming it up and just pretend to be statues. Hamming is hokey.

I've always enjoyed classical music, and this orchestra is quite talented. The conductor discusses the pieces their playing in advance which helps explain the circumstances the music was written under, and technical things to listen for, which really helps me appreciate it much more. On top of that, the artists are all very talented which makes for a wonderful experience. Pair that with the excellent acoustics of the Saenger theatre, and you're in for a treat.

I have attended multiple events at the Saenger Theatre in Pensacola, FL. I have been delighted by each performance. I cannot say the same for the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra: Sounds of Europe. The performance lacked professionalism and intensity. It only takes a couple of bored and lagging musicians to sink the performance. One musician wore his sunshades pushed up on his head and slouched low in his chair when not playing. I would expect more formal behavior of a novice orchestra's dress rehearsal. Guest pianist, Roberto Plano was amazing. His enthusiasm and talent were the hit of the night.

The New Year's Eve concert with the music of Elton John and Billy Joel brought back so many wonderful memories for me. The show was awesome! We were encouraged to and did sing along with most of the songs and the atmosphere was very upbeat the entire time. This was a great way to usher in the new year.

This performance was amazing! Ashley Brown, the Pensacola Children's Chorus, the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, the conductor...each and every one of them presented a high caliber performance that should be repeated in an encore performance. Much respect for Ashley doing a performance in her hometown (or near it)!

Our symphony is awesome! Their talent shone in playing the West Side Story dance arrangements. Listening to the Beethoven tunes with my eyes closed was like a sweet fragrance passing. The guest artist Mr. Alessi was exceptionally entertaining. We are lucky to have an such an outstanding symphony!

While Lyndsey Deutsch is unbelievably talented, there was too much violin on the Porgy and Bess segment. This is jazz, not mournful strains. I was also led to believe there would be more big band material than was actually presented.

The Pensacola Symphony and Lindsay Deutsch were wonderful. I was entranced by the music. It was such fun to watch the passion and union Lindsay displayed with her violin. At times she looked angry, sometimes sad, sometimes joyous. It constantly amazes my that a soloist and a symphony can provide such a great experience, you would never know they did not play together everyday. It was a wonderful way to end the year and begin a new one.

It was great to have a concert featuring a variety of Broadway musical tunes and movie themes. With many of those being hits by Bill Conti that were familiar to so many drew the audience into the performance. To have Bill Conti himself leading the Orchestra gave a special touch to the evening. The only thing I might suggest is that, like some performers at the Saenger do, it may have been an even more special tough for Bill Conti to sit at the "autograph table" and sign provided photos or photos that could be purchased of him or the programs themselves. Thanks to the Orchestra members who made the transition from the "warm-up" clash of instruments' sounds to playing as one, when the performance started, and for them giving the director -- Bill Conti -- their full attention.

I, and probably you, know Bolero by heart, but to see it performed - that was a totally new experience. And what an experience! Just to watch the string players as they progressed from barely touching their strings to stronger and stronger strumming, then bowing, then practically beating their instruments with their bows as the music gradually built to its powerful conclusion. A compelling performance - it totally immersed me in the music. And the maestro's conducting - just perfect. Beginning with the merest nod , and with sparse gestures, his almost motionless presence through the early stages of the piece only added to the hypnotic spell of the music. Yet there was no doubt that he was totally in control of his orchestra as he led them deeper and deeper into the power of the music. Unforgettable!

Getting the chance to see the composer of such film scores as Rocky, The Right Stuff, and For Your Eyes Only actually conduct his own work doesn't come everyday! If the chance presents itself, I highly recommend taking the opportunity to do so. Between his work, Bill talked at length about his roots, where certain ideas sprang up, and funny asides regarding his time with the Academy Awards Orchestra. He also never missed a chance to highlight members of the Symphony when the moments called for it. Thumbs way up and I hope more opportunities like this come around again!
