Les Ballets Trockadero

Amazing show...I would definitely see them again if I got the opportunity.

The men danced with bold femininity and ever so impressively. A paradigm shifter for all to behold :)

I have been going to see The Trocks every chance I get for over 20 years. Sadly the majority of their tour programs are overseas in Europe and Japan so when they do tour in North America it is a rare treat. These artists poke fun at the usually somber and staid traditions of the ballet. From their over exaggerated facial expressions to their hilarious stage names they never fail to have the audience laughing and giggling throughout the performance. The two ballets they are famous for are "The Dying Swan" with the main character molting feathers all over the stage, and "Swan Lake". These two are always on the program , along with other dance routines added to keep the performances fresh and different from previous shows. This time they were the "Pas de Six" from Esmerelda as well as Don Quixote. A wonderful night was had by all, performers and audience alike. Standing ovations as usual, and everybody left laughing and talking about how wonderful the performance was.

I'd never been to the ballet before, but I love men in drag. It could be a nice ballet which I had never done. Or it could just be like a bunch of oafs in dresses and that I'd probably enjoy myself anyway. The truth is it wasn't oafish or gimmicky. The dancers were fantastic. Athletic and graceful, I forgot I was watching men sometimes. Then they'd do something comical and would ham it up because they were in drag and did somethings that were hysterical. There were 7 in our group and all of us loved it!

From the announcements before the show started, until the final bows, Les Ballet Trockadero had us rolling in the aisles. Their technical skills on the stage were really flawless, and they deliver their humor very well. I have rarely seen a house so packed, an ovation so enthusiastic, nor a crowd so pleased as I did last night. My date was thrilled; so was I, and if I could pay for another ticket for tonight I'd go again.

The Trocks were often laugh out loud funny....which is expected...but often times beautiful. I hope they return soon.

Les Ballets Trockadero---What an impressive performance! What fun! The dancers presented an artistically and technically astounding selection of ballets, which demonstrated their right to poke fun at themselves and classical ballet. Costuming and sets were top rate.

What a delightful evening. Don't know when I have laughed so muchy. My jaws hurt from laughing and my hands from applauding. I look forward to seeing them perform again. One of the best Bravo Concerts I have attended

Each of the trocks is as good or better than any of the prima ballerina's that have come through Asheville in recent years. They're really that good. Go see them. Athletic, graceful, and funny.

What a wonderful evening of dance and laughter. Our 6 year old grandaughter said we had to go see them after she read the Bravo calender. We would love to see them again and again.

This show was fantastic! The parody of show, the names, the comedy. I would absolutely go again.

Great dancing and concept for those who enjoy a good sense of humor! Hats off to the amazing male dancers on point!

This is one of the most amazing shows I have seen. The men are incredible dancers but doing what the women normally do is mind blowing. My husband and I loved the humor and The Dying Swan is hysterical. We had seen this show about ten years ago and many of the people sitting around us had done the same and we were most definitely not disappointed the second time around. Now we look forward to another show down the line.

After hearing about the Trocks for years, and watching the DVD, it was more than exciting to see them in real life. They are incredible, more than worth the four hour drive to see them. Strength, elegance (Ida, in the Dying Swan, has the most beautiful arm movements I've ever seen), integrity, and stage presence... You have to see them if they're in your area, or within 300 miles of your area!

The dance company had everyone's attention glued to them. There were times when you forgot that it was a ballet of all men -and strictly amazing performers. It's a perfect first ballet for those not sure if they'd like ballet. Those who love ballet will appreciate the incredibly artistry and skill.

Beyond my expectations...amazing energy and techniques. The humor was delightful

The evening was great, but especially the dancing and dancers. I hadn't experienced a Trock performance for nearly 20 years, but they were not only as good as I recalled, but better. The tongue-in-cheek humor is perfect for the evening, but the artistry of the troupe, and each individual was superior and added to the combination of awe at the performance and smiles and laughs at the choices of elements of humor they add to each selection. All in all, well worth the effort and the expense. The only shortcoming was the venue, as the Fillmore is not set up with graduated seating plans for those who, like us, had acquired seats in the front sections of the auditorium. We were essentially blocked by people directly in our line of sight (and in one case, virtually cut off from much of the stage) because of the combination of flat floor seating, and taller individuals directly in line of sight. Resolved by moving to vacant seats and repositioning chairs during intermission, but still not wholly acceptable for this type of venue in my opinion (at least without a warning on the ticket purchase site as to possibly blocked visibility).

I haven't seen Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo for probably 20 years, but the company was as fresh and lively as I recall, and I believe the dancing was even better across the board. I was able to take my partner to see them for the first time, and he had a really enjoyable evening. Thanks for the great evening out.

Fabulous, funny performance. Would recommend them, run not walk to see if they come to your town.

This company is incredibly, I saw them first a long time ago and I cant believe they are now performing in miami. I recommend it to anyone open to see a great dance mixed with exquisite humor. I will never forget the night with Les Ballets Trockadero. I will see it this week in Miami and me and my friend are very exited about it. DANCERS WITH AN AMAZING TECHNIC AND A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. see it to believe it. I am a ballet dancer and this guys ROCK!

It was awesome to see these guys show clean lines one expected of your typical ballet performance by a woman. There were some moves that only women were able to do and these guys mastered so well that at times I forgot were men dancing. Overall performance we thought it was awesome. They were hillarious with their silliness yet very professional in the show they provided.

Saw it for the first time. Not a great ballet fan but I loved this one! Funny!! Beautiful!! Highly recommended!

I was very excited to be going to Les Ballets Trockadero, yet somewhat apprehensive. Would they be good dancers or just comic relief? I should not have worried, the dancers were consummate professionals with great skill who also happened to throw in a little humor now and again... just enough to keep things light, not tawdry. I was pleasantly surprised at a modern piece thrown into the traditional mix, it was quite unexpected. The choreography and costuming were very spare and I enjoyed it immensely. I think some others in the audience perhaps did not "get it" (no insult intended), except for the comedy aspect, but it was beautiful and defined. Elegant. Throughout the night ALL of the performances were so wonderfully executed that I, more often than not, forgot I was watching men only, and simply saw "dancers". Their grace, skill and strength was beyond question, and the choreography was well conceived. The gorgeous costuming was also very well done. Bravo to all! Thank you Trockadero for coming to Columbus, Ohio! Next time you show up here, I will be there to enjoy your performance and cheer you on. My only sore point had nothing to do with Les Trockadero, it was the stage/theatre itself. Sitting to one side of the theatre I could not see anything that was performed on that side of the stage due to a large speaker for the sound system. It was only slightly frustrating, and not a deal-breaker. Other than that, and even including that, I doubt if there is truly a bad seat in the house.

This show was so much fun! Besides being great dancers, they're also very entertaining. If you get a chance to see them, it will be well worth your time and money.

First off...full disclosure...I know very little about dance. I appreciate it, and enjoy watching it when it is well done, but I don't know "en pointe" from "En Vogue". That having been said, this was thoroughly enjoyable. The performances are fun, and the dancing was beautiful. I can totally appreciate how many of these moves must be even more difficult for a man to execute than a woman. Moreover, the flashes of humor come quick and sharp, and they had the entire theater in stitches. I totally enjoyed myself, and can't recommend such a fun, unique performance enough.

My daughter and I haven't laughed so hard in years. These guys are excellent ballet dancers and obviously enjoy some buffoonery. We were close enough to see the great facial expressions and that adds a lot to the mix. The audience was roaring with joyful enthusiasm.

Hysterical! The talent was more than could possibly be expected. Talented dance, comedic timing, and expressiveness. It is amazing how much was communicated through subtle posture, the positionof a toe and facial expressions. What a delightful evening!

I loved this show. The dancers mastered the parts normally danced by females, did all the on point work and added a humor that delighted the audience. When I think of the hours of practice and dedication that goes into a production like this I am amazed. I have already recommended this to friends. I will definitely see this if it comes to Columbus again. Thanks for a wonderful evening of entertainment

If you didn't think ballet was your thing, well, think again! This show is hilarious but also shows how people who are excellent dancers can entertain in amazingly funny ways. Well worth seeing!

I've never been to a ballet before. I can't think of a better way to experience ballet for the first time! Had a great time and didn't stop laughing the entire time. The guys are amazing dancers and amazingly graceful.

My daughter and I attended and had a GREAT time. The dancing was fantastic, while the content of the performances contained wonderful humor. I will go every time they are in town!

I laughed so hard I cried but to see a hairy chest and a tutu on the same human was beyond belief. What was truly amazing was the quality of the dancing, and the surprising humor. So glad I managed to fit this in during a buisness trip, such a bonus. Thank you all.

Great fun and more than was expected. Wife kept smiling. Texting, sunglasses, and hairy chested ballerinas were all surprises.

It was unbelievable show. I heard about this company before but didn't imagine how good they are. The dancers are actually really great and it's a pleasure just watching them dance and all the humor element just adds up to the fun. This show is great for everyone - either you are a ballet fan or not. Next time I'll bring my kids to see it, because I think you cannot imagine better introduction to the classical ballet dance then this show. I'd recommend it to everyone - just pure joy!

From the opening curtin to the final bow the performace was flawless!!! I am sorry it has taken me this long to see them. I have known about them for at least thirty years. I hope that they will return to San Diego in the very near future. They are a must see!!!!

As always, the "Trocks" were amazing, funny, and inspiring. The audience was in love with them, and they received a well deserved standing ovation. This is my fourth time to see them, and have missed seeing them in San Diego for many years. A great and enjoyable evening!

We knew it would comical but it left a listing impression! Some slapstick maintained the joviality of the evening but their grace, their skill left us wanting for more. At times, we wanted them to avoid the silliness that had us laughing uproariously, and continue with their beautiful performance. The music enveloped us as did their amazing performance. They stayed on pointe for incredible amounts of time. They were all wonderful! An evening well spent! Thank you-it was a joy!

This was my 3rd or 4th Trocks performance. It is still hard to grasp the amazing athleticism of "the guys" especially on point. While the humor of Swan Lake can be sly and subtle, there is nothing subtle about Dying Swan (hysterically histrionic) or Pas de Quatre with its prima's craving for diva-worship. But, one of my favorite parts of the evening shall be the "music" of Patterns in Space which had me clutching myself to control my guffawing. Not to take away from the flawless dancing, of course. I hope this corps continues to flourish for many years to come. Thanks, guys. You are unique.

My wife and I have been trying to catch the Trocadero's performance for quite sometime. We had a wonderful time and laughed the entire evening. Not only was it a funny show, the dancers are technically trained good dancers and it showed. To dance well is one thing, but to dance well and be funny at the same time, is Fantabulous!

Excellent mix of superb ballet dancing and comedy. The men are awesome dancing in their roles as well as in their ballet slippers on point.

The set-up is a farce, which is part of the draw, but to see it done so skillfully is truly a delight. It takes a pro to make a mistake look so real while at the same time maintaining one's body in a reasonably healthy status. Loved the show!

Amazing abilities! Wonderful entertainment for whole family. Having a daughter than danced professionally, I so enjoyed the light hearted comparisons. You won't be disappointed!

My son and I absolutely loved Les Ballets Trockadero. Although these dancers are a bit heavier than the usual ballet dancers their fotwork is amazing. They are as light on their feet as any dancer I have ever seen. They ae beautiful and graceful and so funny.

Superb dancing, great comic touches, dancers' talent and energy made this one of the most enjoyable events I have attended in the last couple of years. Bravo to the entire company -

What a great experience. These men are amazingly skilled, leaping delicately around the stage like prima ballerinas, showcasing high quality talent while still baring their chest hair. What a delight it was to watch, both for the technical skill and beauty of the selected pieces, as well as the humorous presentation. I've wanted to see the Trocks since I myself was a young dancer, and finally got the chance. I think everyone should experience this, for many reasons.

These dancers were amazing! We enjoyed every aspect of their performance; their athleticism, their talent, their humor, their passion. I can't wait to see if they come back next year. I already have others that want to go then, too. Thanks for the memories! The Trocks will be long remembered!

I took my 20 year old son...who was not as excited as you might think to go to a ballet with his mom!? But it was time he get some culture. Imagine his surprise as he watched this amazing group preform. He was laughing, clapping and looking forward to seeing them again. We both had a great time but thank you most of all for exposing my son to some culture!!

This is a must see as long as ur not homafobic, these guys are incredible! This was my second time seeing them, highly recommend!

This is my 2nd time to see them and I would go again. The dances are technically excellent the performers are at a highly professional level, and the humorous touches entertain the entire audience. There's so much going on all the time.

I didn't think I would enjoy the show as much as I did when I saw them in NY but I did!!!

The show was absolutely amazing! I would see it over and over again. The dancers were not only hysterical, they were brilliant and talented. Everyone should see them perform. Any anti-ballet person would change their mind about ballet forever if they watched Les Trockadero.

Very much enjoyed the performance. Having seen them many years ago, we still found them very good performers and exciting. My husband would have enjoyed it even more had there been more comedy but overall we both had an excellent time. We recommend the show to audiences of all ages.

I thought we were just going to see an ordinary ballet which have been fine..When looking for directions I realized the troup was all men...I hesitated to tell my Texas born blue collar husband but did. We both had an amazing entertaining time ! the dancers work very hard and were quite good in their ballet toes. Would see it again and again
