This was without a doubt one of the most memorable concerts I've ever attended. The venue was great. So intimate that you felt that he was singing just to you.The concert from beginning to end was Magnificent. Dr. Tynan has the voice of an angel and was kind enough to share his gift with all who were in attendance. This was Dinner theater at it's best.

I saw Ronan Tynan last year when he attended my company's national conference. I loved him and was so happy to see he was coming to Philadelphia. The concert was everything I hoped for (although he didn't sing Allelujah which is my favorite of his). His voice is incredible and he has a great connection with the audience. Lots of funny stories between songs. At the end he signed CD's and took pictures. A lovely, lovely man!

I have seen Ronan Tynan many times before both with the Tenors and by himself. He has a great voice and loves to make fun of himself. This was the first time I have ever seen Andy Cooney. While his voice is not as bold as Ronan's, he can carry a tune! They work very well together and seem to enjoy it. I love when they flubbed the words and had a good laugh over it. The band was great - all very talented in their own right. The Westbury Music Fair (it will always be known as that - and should be!) is a great place to see anyone. It's a very comfortable venue and it feels like you are seeing a show in your living room.

I've been going to see Ronan Tynan at the South Shore Music Circus now for a few years. His voice is incredible, as is his personality! Some people are born to shine and just being in his presence makes everyone around him a bit brighter too!

This was our first time seeing Ronan in person, and his performance was fantastic! We have loved listening to him as one of the Irish Tenors and in solo performance, so we appreciated his voice before the concert; afterward, we couldn't stop talking about his amazing vocal ability and control, his fun personality and the way he joked with the audience. He and his accompanist complement each other perfectly, and there was never a time when the sound system failed to support them. They provided a wonderful array of musical selections, which showcased Ronan's ability to sing ANYthing, from the Irish ballads for which he is so well known and loved, to Broadway, to country, to opera. What boundless range in a joyful soul! Thank you for a superior night of music and celebration of Irish spirit and life!

This was definitely a memorable concert, much of the music gave me the chills. Would love to see him with an orchestra behind him and possibly a female vocalist. The program was the right blend of traditional and contemporary music. His humor although self depricating at times kept a smile on my face. The only down side was the heat in the tent. Was it hot! They should have put the sides to the tent up.

Ronan Tynan has a very powerful voice. That goes without saying. I bought tickets to hear him sing--Not Bill Lewis. I bought tickets to hear him sing--not tell stories. I guess this will be the last time that I pay to hear him perform.

Ronan Tynan can belt out a song. The Melody Tent was about half full. The volume was set for full...much too loud to the point where it was hard to get the lyrics in many songs.

His voice was unforgetable. He told many stories, some comical, some were hard to understand , because of the fluctuation in his voice when talking. Perhaps it was the control of the sounds. We missed quite a few of the punch lines, and we were sitting in the second row of our section right behind the sound technician. In this case, it was a disappoiintment, but we were there to hear him sing, so it didn't matter. It was unneeded having the pianist sing...At the intermssion, we moved to a higher spot because of the temperature near the stage and the sound was no better. Ronan himself is wonderful and I would recommend him returning in a different venue.

The night was spectacular. Dr. Tynan's voice is a gift and his musical aptitude enhances his amazing voice. Part way through the 2nd half, an audience member became ill. Dr. Tynan stepped in to assist the very capable nurses and we got to see the human side of him. He is kind, funny, humble and an amazing tenor!

Ronan was amazing as usual. His repetoire gives something for everyone. I was with someone who went not expecting to enjoy the evening. His response - where are we going to hear him the next time? There was an unfortunate event occurring during the concert, someone became ill and 911 had to be called. But, as you would expect, Dr. Tynan was immediately off the stage and at the aid of the individual. Those who are his true fans would expect nothing less of him. True humanitarian with a beautiful God given gift of song.

The show was exceptional. Ronan Tynan is a superb talent. His voice is astounding, his mental catalogue of Irish (and other) songs is beyond belief. Obviously, his life story (born handicapped, lost his twin, amputee, medical degree and career, singing career) is so far beyond that which most of us would ever dream of is another thing entirely. It informs his brilliant story telling and humor, and is inseparable from his singing. His accompanist, Billy, is an essential part of the show. His piano playing is impeccable, and his singing is surprisingly excellent. He does counterpoint to Tynan, with perfect harmonies delivered with style. A local woman, Pauline (Wells?), sings some nice songs with two terrific guitarists to give Tynan a break and provide a contrast. She is not remotely on the same level, but does a nice job. Tynan is a tad too unctuous with his descriptions of her ("Let's welcome this beautiful lady." about ten times, and the hugging and kissing and "Oh, your husband is here." is a little over the top and unnecessary, and detracts from the quality of the show. When Ronan sings with nuance and feeling, he has no equal. His rendition of "My Old Man" wrenched tears from everyone in the audience. When he simply uses his pipes to overpower a song, it is disappointing. His version of "Danny Boy" is the worst song in the show. He just belts the whole thing. Do not the words, "when soft you tread above me," not require feeling? He too often revels in his power and volume, to the detriment of the music.

If you like Irish tenors. then Ronan Tynan may be your "guy." The base show is Ronan Tynan with his pianist, William (Billy) Lewis. Lewis was excellent and has a terrific voice as well. The only problem was we sat (Wilbur Theater - Boston) at the side about 7 rows back where the amplifiers were booming the tenor's high volume songs directly at us. In hindsight, i would have ordered tickets on the mezzanine level not the floor. if you have seen the Irish Tenors, you would have viewed Tynan in a formal appearance. This was very different as Tynan was very laid back, comical (even irreverent), and presented a very casual appearance. There was a lot of funny conversation between Tynan and Lewis as well as stories from Tynan to the audience. Well worth seeing!

We knew the evening would be special when we entered the beautifully Rococo lobby of the St. George Theater and saw the Richmond County bagpipers ready to perform. They were a nice welcome for Ronan Tynan, the Irish tenor with the booming voice. He sang a lovely selection of ballads accompanied by Billy Lewis on the piano. Mr. Lewis himself, has quite a beautiful voice and harmonized with Mr. Tynans on many of the songs, as well as sang a little known Irving Berlin melody about Aesop, the able fable man. After Mr. Tynan's set, Judy Collins performed many favorites while bantering about her youth and how she got to where she is today. She could still hit the high notes and her voice got stronger as her set went on.

Enjoyed listening to Ronan. Could have listened even longer. Enjoyed stories introducing songs. Seemed comments were more spontaneous than in other of his concerts we attended. Very gracious and personable in offering to stay and sign purchases and momentos and meeting guests afterwards. Judy Collins a bit high pitched and shrieky in tone. But stories are entertaining. Pipers were seemingly rehearsing in hall, and we were all looking forward to them marching in at some point. But that never happened. If they were not part of the show, it was a tease to have them there. Would have hung around to listen to them if we had known we wouldn't see them later.

The venue & staff was great! The show - exactly what one would find in a cruise ship lounge. If you know the act & WANT to see it, then you think it's great. But, for everyone else, it's just another act. I will say he puts his heart & soul into his songs and there is variety with three other unknown singers. Additionally, the 6 key musicians are worth the fee & the back-up orchestra pulled off one practice very well.

I have been to numerous Ronan Tynan shows and cruises and the was truly the best one ever. Ronan's voice was superb and his contact with the audience and the other performers was unbelievable. It was like having being at home with the performers. The firemen were great, especially Jimmy Hoar and the guitar player (sorry, I can't remember his name). Ronan seemed like he was having the time of his life and it crossed over to the audience. Bugsy, Bill and Jimmy were great as always. More Ronan like this, especially in Boston. It looks like Ronan has found a new home!! It really was wonderful. I brought 8 family members with me as a Christmas gift and they were all blown away as well!

Boston is the luckiest city to have Ronan Tynan call it home. I will never miss a live performance and a special thanks to all the firefights that appear that evening. The guirtarist really rocked out. I also loved the piano player I would love a CD of his music. The whole afternoon/evening was a great experience. Thanks Ronan for making it happen.

Ronan Tynan was a phenomenal performer. His voice with all of the different notes that he could sing was amazing. The songs he chose to sing were heart warming, tear jerking, and spirited. He has a gift not only for singing but for bringing joy to others. He praised the police officers and firefighters for their dedication to protecting us as he shared the stage with talented individuals from both departments. Ronan's genuine interest in the gifts that others have to offer is what shone through at his performance at the Wilbur Theater. He is humble man with a great sense of humor, who is passionate about his work. We are happy to have his wonderful presence in Boston.
