It's one thing to see and hear him DJ, but the Shadowsphere takes DJ Shadow's set to another level. The visuals from this sphere are as awe-inspiring as the DJing. If this show is coming to your town, do yourself a favor and go. You will not be disappointed.

Best show on earth in my opinion, had a great time, met Cut Chemist & Z Trip while waiting for Shadow to perform. The Shadowsphere was a once in a lifetime experience that I don't regret witnessing. Music Box is a great place to see a show, had an amazing night.

The show was great. DJ Shadow played a lot of my favorites, some in a new way. He played new stuff too, all blended the way he does so well. The shadowglobe/light show was really well done and was very cool in its own right. It was also cool that for parts of the show you can see inside the globe and see him rocking out and doing his thing. He was really gracious and thanked the crowd for supporting 'his particular strange brand of dance music' (or something like that). Awesome show.

this show lacked energy- granted a seattle crowd is hard to get dancing, use of the lights or simply watching the audience instead of hiding in a ball would have given a good indication when to go louder and faster vs. drop the beat- the lights help people figure out how to dance to the music as well- during some of the beats, a strobe light or disco ball would have really enhanced the show.

This is the first time I've been to the Fillmore, and I have to say this was a great venue! Everything was very well organized and very classy. I'll be back for sure! The opening act (The Nerve) was AMAZING! Jojo Mayer is an incredible drummer and we instantly became fans. One of the staff told us we were in for a treat...and he was totally right. The sound was great...another plus for this venue and the people manning the mixing boards. The Shadow show was epic...with lots of new material. We saw him in Baltimore last year and this was in no way repetitive. Shadow is a real craftsman and his live versions of songs we knew were artfully enhanced. We got to meet him before the show and he's a super nice, down to earth guy. You can tell he is passionate about music...and does not have anything to prove.

DJ Shadow put on a great show. Only reason not 5 stars was Fillmore location left some things to be desired. After ordering a few drinks I asked for water and the guy told me to go downstairs to the water fountain, not exactly what I'd expect from a place that tries to look classy.

KILLER!!! The Regency was a great venue, minus the almost double drink price from bars 100 feet away. to be expected I guess. Dj Shadow jammed his new worked interweaved through some older hits and new mixes and transitions. The visuals of the show added a lot to bring out the 'feeling' of the night. Which was heavier than expected considering most of Dj Shadow's previous albums. The night seemed to be a crunchy, but welcomed contrast to previous shows. I like that artists evolve, change, and continue to push their limits and strive for new heights. As fans we may not like newer stuff as much as past works, but its not really up to us is it? I hope Dj Shadow continues to grow and produce killer sounds and moods for at least a while longer.

I didn't know Gaslamp Killer but this guy is crazy and his show was really good! DJ shadow's performance was amazing, I was totally stoked, such a good set! And this shadowsphere thing is so dope! Shadow just killed it, he knows what he does and is humble, he's a true artist, a real dj. Respect.

If you did not see this show, than you my friend sadly missed one the best Dj's to walk the walk planet. DJ Shadow hands down brought his A-game to the Music Box. Everything flowed so smoothly, the mixture from rock to hip hop, to dubstep to drum and bass. Everything was on point. All of his classic were played and the place as going off! DJ Shadow is a must see in my book. Even Gasslamp Killer killed it for sure! Gotta love his crazy ass head banging hair LOL

I've seen DJ Shadow three times now and all three have been amazing. This show however was the most visually stimulating with the "Shadowsphere" he performed in. Was highly impressed with the production as well as all of Shadows new songs and remixes of his old ones. It's always a pleasure to see him when he's in town.

I am still reverberating from the sonic drum and bass assault that DJ Shadow enforced on all of us Friday night. He skillfully orchestrated a mixture of new and old songs into shortened versions of the compositions that originally drew me to his musical artistry. Trip-Hop with a soulful vengeance. The Death Star orb that housed his machinery and talent - beamed 22nd century visuals - synced seamlessly to the music. What may have been most impressive was Shadow's humility and lack of ego when addressing the crowd. His words to the capitvated audience were appreciative and sincere, a quality typically lacking in most well known musical acts. I am most impressed, and hope to see him again either here or there.

The venue was beautiful. We wish we could have gained access to the balcony. The doors opened at 8, but the DJ Shadow was not on stage until after 10. The door was not set up to allow in/out access for smokers until DJ Shadow had started, and when it finally was it only allowed space for too few. It was a mob scene out there. The drinks were overpriced. The show was a visual overload. There was a screen in the back and then a globe in front all projecting different images. Then the globe opened up and that is where DJ Shadow was playing. The lights had designs in them so where they landed on the wall there were sillhouettes. I appreciate the effort of the visual show, but truthfully we are old school DJ Shadow fans and would have been happier with a plain wooden stage with him doing what he does. I am interested in the music, not the vision. We were also not pleased with the fast tempo beat that was introduced to his music. It felt a little too much like a rave and not a show where an artist was performing his own music. That being said, DJ Shadow is a genius and we really appreciate his brilliance and music. We also really appreciated the merchandise that was for sale.

A giant disappointment. The music sucked and no amount of cool visuals could cover that. Drumstick work unnecessary and pathetic. Sound quality horrible. No fire, no drive, no swing, no nothing. My 16 y.o. son (who used to admire Shadow) and I left after 40 minutes. DJ Truespeaker was very good though.

I saw DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist spin records in Dallas a few years back, no MP3's or computers, just a bunch of turn tables. It was outstanding, perhaps one of the better live experiences I've ever seen. Tuesday I felt like he betrayed that concept and sold out to become an ordinary, lame DJ. I haven't enjoyed anything that Shadow has put out since the Private Press, so this shouldn't have been much of a surprise, but to me he's completely abandoned his roots and seems to be bent on making money out of all of this instead of chasing the art form that he created, or at the very least whatever he's chasing now is unrecognizable.

Unbelievable show as always. No other DJ out there quite like what Shadow does. He creates music, art, and takes you on a journey. He doesn't just mix songs, or spin cd's. He actually creates the music. Great crowd. Great venue. Small and intimate. Just perfect.

Shadow is the man but this show was not my favorite by any means. He had the crowd rocking for 15 mins or so but lost us bad. Drum and bass sucks. I didn't expect shadow to play any let alone half the set of drum and bass. The crowd was somewhat standing still half the night. He only played an hour twenty also. Lame!! Last shadow show I go until I hear a return to the music I have heard in the past.

This is the third time I've seen him, and I really enjoyed it. The previous time was at Paradise Rock Club, and it was much harder to see the stage due to the layout of the venue. House Of Blues had much better sight lines, and it all sounded great. I love the diversity of his music, both his sources and what he does with them. The visuals that go along with the music really enhance the experience, especially when they lower the scrim in front of him and project on that, too. The first opening act, Bobby Bangers, was skilled and entertaining, but he was having problems with his turntables skipping, which limited what he could do. The second opening act, Tico, was very lively and fun, and also brought a rapper/MC/hype man on stage with him, which was a great addition to get the crowd into it.

I loved the DJ Shadow show. He brought a lot of his new work, and some old classics, however the sound was blown out and the show was hard to get into. I blame the venue, not the DJ. Last time I saw him at the Neptune, the sound was perfect, so I guess this was a fluke.

Excellent live show. Weaved together old & new, obscure nuggets from the past along with a bit of the latest. Scratching & transitions A+ as you'd expect from the legend. Seemed glad to playing and thankful to the crowd, a refreshing take compared to other self absorbed artists. Would def recommend seeing him live if you can.

Although the venue had little ambience, the sound quality was good. DJ Shadow was excellent, mixing from his new stuff with classic endtroducing and other deeper cuts. So the show was supposed to start at 8pm. The opener, Noer The Boy, was apparently late and didn't come out until 8:30pm. But at this point there was no sound guy in the booth. The show then didn't start until 9pm when the sound guy finally decided to show up. The opener was just bad, he was not great at all. But once DJ Shadow came out everything was great! The crowd started to wake up and it was a great time. So I would recommend the show simply for DJ Shadow.

Unfortunately, the opening DJ played for over an hour and his set was horrible! It was like listening to a kid moving the radio dial up and down trying to find a station to listen to. Also, the kid just stood there drinking his bottle water while letting his mix tape play. DJ Shadow's set was sick! His visuals were on fleek and he catered to the crowd. I can't wait until he come back around to play the area.

Shadow continues to rock shows the way he always has. Great show at a small venue that made it a lot more intimate than some of the bigger venues I've seen him at. Only downside was the opening act, some awful hipster macbook dj who somehow got 2+ hours of play time to Shadow's 1:45 or thereabouts (thanks Cambridge curfew). He played nothing but terrible B-list R&B/techno that really made it tough to wait it out until Shadow took the stage.

The sound was painfully loud and then some... and then some. I like my music loud but that was just too much. Also I prefer hi fidelity over volume, and the sound quality lacked IMO. The warm up lasted more than dj Shadow himself -- almost three hours. Seriously? The total of almost five hours for the performance of the two combined is more like going to a job rather than a fun event. I don't need such long warm ups. The warm up guy was very different than dj Shadow, more of a pop music remix thing rather than instrumental hip-hop that dj Shadow is known for. Not my type of thing. Also, the warm up guy /dj Durkin?/ made it look like he worked with his dj controls, but he had an Apple laptop on the top of his rig probably streaming a playlist and if the guy left to the bathroom in the middle of the act, nothing would have probably changed. Also, out of my favorite tunes, I've only got to hear Organ Donor, the rest of them were newer or more obscure stuff. I wish there were more of my favorites like Six Days, Midnight in a perfect world, Napalm Brain/Scatter Brain. Overall, the music was more on a generic dancing rather than unique listening side. The venue itself /the Sinclair/ was good, much better than the House of Blues I've recently been to. It's got a cute little outside deck above the street level for the restaurant -- good on a sunny day for a meal before the show. Air conditioning was noticeably good before the show, but either got turned down or overwhelmed by human heat later on.

The opening act was a good start, but played for something like 2 hours before DJ Shadow came on. Shadow's new stuff was sharp, the energy level was great, but it seemed like it was over before it started. Overall, not a bad concert, but would have liked to have heard a few of the old favs mixed in more than we'd heard and would like to have limited the opening act to save more time for Main Event
