The Little Mermaid

Really did not know what I was going to but my granddaughter (2) loves the Little Mermaid. Oh my, what a show! We both enjoyed it so much and did not know anyone in the show. Please continue to have the great variety for all of us to enjoy.

It was an awesome show with some great talent for dancing.

The City Ballet put on another spectacular spring performance. The costumes and sets were fabulous. The choreography was exciting and kept the viewers engaged. Lovely interpretation of The Little Mermaid.

It was like a glorified kids recital- but expensive, and obviously no rights to Disney songs ...

what a wonderful time we had at Drury Lane!! took my 4 yr old grandson, he had a ball-interacting with the several sing alongs in the play..want to shout out a big Thank You to the ushers, escorted us to our seats and were very friendly..

Enjoyed the play. Drury Lane is a beautiful theater. Food (brunch) not so. EVERYTHING was cold. Eggs gritty. Service poor.

TLM was a fun hour plus actor q&a which was great for the kids. Keep in mind this is not the Disney version so you may not be able to sing along!

This was a cute play,and well done. The Actors were good at their parts and the story was interesting,but if your child is looking for Ariel, Eric, Sebastian and Flounder none of them are there. The story resembles what Disney did, but my 4 year old was confused. She enjoyed the experience over all, but kept asking for what she was expecting, which was the songs she knew and the characters she was familiar with and none of them were part of this experience.

this "little mermaid" was neither the hans christian anderson nor the disney version, but a new but entertaining plot on the classic. every member there was obviously professional: the singing, acting and dancing skills were top-notch, as i would expect from a drury lane production, even a children's theater one. the mermaid sounded like "ariel," which was helpful, but not necessary. everyone played up to the kids and the audience loved it. i also really liked the question and answer session at the end, which allowed us to know each actor a little more personally. this was a fun treat for me and my 10 year old daughter.

Great actors and singing! It even kept my 20 month old entertained the whole time. They did an outstanding job with this performance. Kids of all ages will love this show!

Some reviews called it a Ballet, but it isn't. It is a One Hour Musical for little girls. The story is a mixture of the disney version and the Hans Christian Andersen version(the real story). You can not take pictures of the stage for copy right reasons. There were some comical moments. The play was done by like 9 people with some playing multiple parts.

It was great ballet. What a great job. We truely enjoyed the show.

This was so well done! Excellent performances, costumes were amazing and choreography so imaginative. Wonderful for adults and children alike!

The Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet's The Little Mermaid was excellent. I took my five-year old daughter and we both thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Everything was just phenomenal, the dancers, the choreography, the costumes. I was extremely impressed by the talent of the dancers. The costumes were beautiful, all of the styles and colors. I would highly recommend this performance, we really enjoyed the entire experience. I look forward to attending future performance of the CVYB.

Mermaid was a lot of fun to see. We had seats in row 3 which made it fun. First ballet for me (Dad), Son (9) and Daughter (4). We expected the music to be Disney music we are all familiar with. They should have disclosed that this was the original fairy tale and not Disney - expectations would have been better set. I would have wished for something in the program to help explain ballet to novices. Wife and daughter loved it.

Wonderful experience for our three little ballerinas ages 6, 5, and 3. Costumes and scenery were great. The girls enjoyed both ballet segments and the demonatration. This was their first visit to the Civic Theatre and they loved the stars and clouds as well as the organist. We would recommend the experience to all families. Give the kids some culture.

Play was short and sweet. Dancers were good. Only stayed for first part,, show started late about 20-30 minutes, little girls were tired,,,,

The Little Mermaid event was too short, maybe 45 minutes? The average age of the performers was 15! I was under the impression this event was going to be of a higher caliber. An amateur performance at best. Ticket prices were WAY over priced. The only positive thing I can say is the selena auditorium was a nice venue and the costumes the performers wore were pretty cool.

The production o the Little Mermaid wonderful show for adults and children!!! I especially enjoyed the audio narration . The Little Mermaid was beautiful with her red flowing hair . The corp of the ballet was exceptional and the sea witch did an especially beautiful job.

I suppose it's kinda tuff to adapt a Disney animated movie into a ballet. Nonetheless this show was kinda boring. Lacking in props, the dancing was fair. We split at intermission and went to the movies. Someone in the seat next to me farted. That didn't help.

The CCC Ballet once again proves its superior quality, and professionalism. The dancers were amazing the costumes so appealing! The guest artist a delight!

I took my 3 and 5 year old daughters to the Sunday afternoon performance. The whole first half was not even the Little Mermaid as advertised. My girls were ready to see the Little Mermaid and were very disappointed that she wouldn't appear for another hour. After intermission, the Little Mermaid did begin, but was not what I expected. The costumes, dancers, and choreography were wonderful, but the characters were hard to identify and none of the music was familiar to us. We were expecting something much closer to the Disney interpretation, and this was no where close.

Wow my 2 yr old enjoyed the fish and all the costumes were simply beautiful. The first hour was pretty cute.

The dancers, the set, the costumes were all great... It was a little long for the little ones, but we all enjoyed the performance... Good Job!!
